Goldenblade seeks out a teacher

Goldenblade
Dun Loireag - Mithrilscale Ironworks

Goldenblade has traveled all the way to Dun Loireag, to the ironworks there, to seek out someone who might know what she's looking for. "Hello," she calls out as she enters, taking a look around, and she seems pleased at what she sees, which are not just weapons, but tools and other things, because that's what she's looking for: Not the making of weapons or armor, but someone who can teach her to make tools and /things/ of steel.
Miho

Miho did not expect Goldenblade to come into the forge today. She's working away at the forge though Goldenblade might notice something strange she's at the anvil her -arms nad hand have glowing tattoos almost like molten metal. She's now working metal on the anvil with her beart hands...she calls out. "Just lets me finish up here!"

Goldenblade watches Miho at the forge, and is amazed when she realizes that she's working the red-hot molten metal with her bare hands. As to finishing up, she nods slowly, "Yes, yes, I don't want to stop you in the middle of ... what you're doing. It seems like it's best not to stop in the middle. Like a lot of things, really," she allows. The glowing tattoos are just a strange wierdness like a zillion other strange things she doesn't understand. But working with hot metal she /thought/ she understood, but this is outside her knowledge.

Miho is working away happily tail swishing a bit. She'll finish shaping the metal and go up wraping up dealint with it. Once she's done she'll clean off her hands the tattoos seem to vanish and she'll come over to Goldenblade. She'll bow slightly. "Welcome to my forge what can I do for you?"

Goldenblade watches the work with rapt attention. She doesn't miss the tattoos fading when the work is done. She returns the bow, just a bit deeper, as appropriate from a student to a teacher, and she says, "Thank you. I was hoping you could tell me who could teach metalworking? Though from what I've seen, I think the answer might be you. That was ... interesting, what you were doing." Disturbing, from her tone. "I don't need to know how to do metalworking /by hand/," she insists. "Just general training, with tools and such."
Miho

Miho grins at this as she catches on she has a possible student. "I can teach one how to work metal. As for this method? It's due to my relic." She'll heave the forge. "It allows me to work metal by hand and for a period of time be uneffected by heat. I'd be training one with the tradtional way of doing it."

Goldenblade nods gravely, and looks a bit relieved also. "Training by the traditional way is just what I'm looking for," she says quickly. "That's a spectacular relic," she says after a pause. "But yes, the traditional way, please." She looks a bit guilty at this. "I know I'm not cool, like you kids, with all your cool magic ways of doing everything. But this is as much as I'm comfortable with."
Miho

Miho says "Look I was trained trationally by my own grandfather and uncle." She beams at this. "My family have been smith for a very long time. So I'd be happy to teach you the proper way. What I was doing would need the relic I have." She'll now start to think. "When would you like to start?"

Goldenblade ahhhs at the traditional training. "My father ... I don't rightly know what he did. He was a clerk of some kind, but I didn't really learn much from him, job-wise. I liked working with my hands, it why I picked the job I did. And at a good time, too. A lot of rebuilding to be done, after the war and into the boom times." She smiles, hrms about when to start. "Well, how soon can you start?" she wonders. "I'm available, unless the Palace Landers attack."
Miho

Miho nods "Aye I trained the tradtional way, five years then the bi yearly exam if I failed I'd have had to wait six months to take again." She grins for a bit. "Oh I see yeah Grandfather said much the same. I recall him speaking of the rebuilding a few times. Oh We can start today I have a few things that need to be get done. So shall we get to work?"
Goldenblade

Goldenblade smirks at Miho relating how her grandfather was involved in rebuilding. Well, if Miho is as old as she looks here, then she's maybe the age of her own grandkids. She bows as a pupil to a master, and says, "I am ready to start, then." And she will begin another sort of training. She smiles, and wonders, "Let me know if there's anything I can do to help you get started?"

Miho says "Excellent, I'll cover dinner at hifumi's when we're finished for the day." She notes as she heads back into the forge. "Go get a spare smock and gloves. Use the menu to eqiup it so it fits." Miho seems to be in good spirits as she has a student she doesn't have to chase down. Such s Giganpor.

Goldenblade's eyes widen at the mention of dinner at Hifumi's. That's something she wasn't expecting. But quite welcome. She nods about the smock and gloves, and ohs at the mention of menu-equipping them to they auto-size. She didn't know that was a thing! "All right," she agrees, and turns to look for the gear. She -may- be hard to track down if the Palace Landers show, the badge she's wearing, markingg her as a soldier of Westelande, is not just an ornament. But if the Palace Landers don't butt in, she's all here.
