Nariko's Duty Day III

    Once more unto the fray. The Adventurers Guild calls, and a few answer! Of course, Nariko is once again coordinating an objective from the guild and that's why she's outside this rather non-descript old building waiting for the others to arrive. "This ...looks kinda boring.."

"Looks are rarely ever thorough from the outside." Vertina remarks as she strolls up. Waves a hand at the building. "Besides, it's old, and it looks perfectly accurate to that."

"Looks can often be decieving." Tenko offers, as she stands outside near the other two. She had just finished checking her gear, "Is this related to the other slime mission?" She wonders, as she looks over the entrance to the building, "Perhaps they have spread?"

    The question from Tenko gets a shrug, "Not sure, I think I missed that one," Nariko points out before peering at the building again. "Eh. I guess we'll see then, right? Lets get to it, then." And onward and inward they go.

    After navigating the main building, descending below, the first issue is a rockslide blocking the way. "... Well, that's one way to start. Lets get to digging, I guess."

"And you were worried it wouldn't be interesting inside," Vertina teased as they walked up to the pile of rocks. "Don't know Tenko. But look at those pipes sticking out of the walls. Might be connected to a sewer somewhere. One way to find out." She interlaces her fingers together, then stretches out her arms to crack her knuckles. The stomps a foot into the ground, makes a gesture as if grabbing something, and then twisting her body in a heaving motion.

And one of the larger rocks *POP* right out of the pile, rumbling down the other side of the pile as it's pushed free. Some of the other stones tumble down free, creating a larger space between them.

"Hmm." Tenko has a more subtle way of dealing with the rocks in the way than Vertina does, it seems, as she channels some magic into her katana, and delivers several quick slashes to the rock pile, the earth magic focused through her blade allowing them to break down into far smaller pieces, "The real question here is, did someone want to keep people out, or keep something in?"

"How is a rockslide -interesting-? It's more annoying than anything. Where's the fight at?!" Moving rocks? Boring. Moving a lot of rocks? MORE BORING. At least they have some abilities that help get the group moving. First Vertina yanks out a particularly weight-bearing stone, followed by Tenko carving a path. Which leaves Nariko giving the ground a similar stomp, getting the path to rumble clear the rest of the way. "Works for me."

    The next room? "Well that's where the pipes went... why do they need a scale for ... water? That's weird... Ah well. Lets get that door open."

"I've seen weirder things in dungeons." Vertina circles around the apparatus. Then stops and looks up. "Wait, hold on." The Salamander backs up a few steps, rolls her shoulder, and then takes a running start. Which goes into a leap as she grabs onto one of the scale arms, swings herself around it twice like an acrobat on the uneven bars, then lets go as she swings up a third time. A double somersault follows, landing her on the pan. Only for her to jump off again, kicks off the wall, grab one of the water pipes, and use that leverage to swing herself onto the top of the entire structure where some of the mechanism itself is exposed. "Aha! This is rusted together."

She pulls a vial out of her inventory, uncorks it, and dumps it down amongst the moving bits to slowly eat away the rusty build-up jamming the pieces. Sometimes knowing a bit of alchemy on the side helps.

So the water needs to fill the bowls, and then the bowls need to balance out in order to open the door.

Tenko sheathes her katana and then changes stances, moving to an unarmed, flowing stance. It very much resembles water bending from that popular show, you know the one. Tenko manipulates the water around them until she fills up one of the basins, leaving the other to be filled by Nariko in time for Vertina to release the mechanism.

    Hop, skip, jump, spin, flip... Seems Vertina has everything under control as she ascends the device in the room to try and de-rust the machine. "Well that's one way of doing it, nice stuff!" Similarly to Tenko, Nariko starts to move through a few poses, almost matching Tenko, but more like a mirror, to get the other bowl filled. Balance! Huzzah. That gets the door open.

    And now? Slimes. Of a sort! Oil slimes. "... I have a feeling fire is about to be really useful. Heh..."

Nariko barely finishes her comment and the sound of sloshing liquid can be heard, because Vertina just pulled a much larger flask that she's vigorously gyrating while heating up her hand. "Oh, you've said the magic words... Just get them to cluster together. Shouldn't be too hard, the oil probably makes them more physically coherent than normal slimes." She waits for most of the slimes to be swarmed together, then dumps her concoction into the scorched grooves to relight them, igniting walls of flame across the room to pen the various sections. Seems like being made of such flammable material has actually made these slimes -afraid- of fire and won't cross the barriers.

Tenko's katana is built tough, and designed to focus magic through it for her strikes. Still counts as a physical attack if someone's paying attention, but the burning heat of her blade will still do a number on the flamable Slimes.

Normally attacking slimes with a melee weapon wouldn't be the greatest idea one ever had, but in an instance like this with her blade, Tenko clearly has every intention of making it work, as she slashes her way through.

    Gather them up, eh? Fine. She'll go along with the idea. May as well seeing as the alchemist over yonder seems to have a flask for everything. The dire-tiger zips in to catch aggro from everything and starts gathering them up right as needed. It makes it pretty easy for Tenko to slice them up as a result, thing is, the tiger doesn't get quite out of range and ends up a little singed. "Ow.." shrug. That was her bad, though.

    And now? "Puzzles. Bluh! Who puts puzzles in a game like this? They're always lame and you can't jump right and then the barrel shoots you down a waterfall..." what game is -that-? doesn't matter.

"And sometimes your quest is so right that you can't go left," Vertina quips in response. Then gets distracted by the markings on the wall. "Hey girls... I think these might be directions." She squints one eye. "Something about spinning things in a certain order to make the paths line up and close gates over the monster dens."

"You take that half, I'll take this half." Tenko says, as she pulls out one of her sketch books and a quill, starting to take notes, "Then we'll meet in the middle and compare...We should be able to finish it off a lot quicker that way."

    Well, with a little hint from Vertina, and a little nudge from Tenko, Nariko gives the windmills a good long looking over, and then slips into a more rapid set of movements from the water ones earlier. The other pair would notice the winds in the room picking up. "Just tell me how you want things to move and I'll do it!" Working in tandem, the trio should get it all sorted out!

    No slimes to fight, and puzzle solved, the group arrives at the a new machine, and one that spits out a big ol' slime that Nariko haphazzardly just smacks, only for it to split into a light and dark half. "... Oh well hell.."

Vertina raises a scaly brow when the slime splits into two of opposing types. ".. Oh, is this one of those bosses you have to weakness exploit but be sure they die at almost the same time or they revive each other?" Not that the Salamander waits for an answer before leaping into action, and slamming a fist full of ki into the Dark Slime. But it's not with completely reckless abandon, as she aims her impact to knock the dark slime back into the light slime, and let their own oppositions destroy each other.

"Looks like it!" Tenko calls out, as she moves to engage with the white slime, since Vertina seems to already be dead set on going after the Dark one, "Nariko, split between the two,!" She calls out, "Help us get them to within striking distance so we don't trigger the resurrection!"

    Seems Nariko likes that idea. "Oh, nice thinking! I'm with you on it!" is called out as she storms forward, giving a hard stomp at one point to cause a nice chunk of the floor to lift upward. Said chunk is given a swift kick to set it alight before the follow-up punch sents it soaring forward, trying to do as Vertina did, smash the opposed slimes together. "They're close, Give'm what you got!"

    With the two being forced to merge back together, a ripple goes through them both, one bubbles, the other burbles, and then they both explode. Goop everywhere. White. Black. Grey. ... "... ... Now I know why they needed all the water..." siiiiiiigh. "Lets go get our reward.. and find a shower."

Vertina holds up an arm so she at least doesn't get gunk all over her face. "I almost regret being right." She tries to shake some gunk off. "Almost... yeah, bath sounds like a good idea, and I'll get us something to eat whipped up." She has really gotten into the cooking thing.

"A shower is something I could definitely go for." Tenko says, as she grumbles a little bit, trying to clean as much slime off of her blade as she can. She'll probably need to get it professionally cleaned after this.
