The Song of Steel

It's late, Miho's finishing up the last bit for the day, when that's done? She'll close up, as for her dog he's just snoring near the edge of the forge where it's warm but not too close to the forge and all the burning metal. He lerned real quick about that...

"Well, it's been another productive day hasn't it?" How does something with the build of an equestrian amazon be so unnoticable like that?! Somehow Kauchemar manages, and it probably involves magic. That and she's just leaning against the wall being unobtrusive. "Those two are getting close to a breakthrough. I can't tell precisely when or how, but I can feel it coming in the winds of fate."

Miho says "They have been making progress yes, there's a reason I let them have the run of my forge you know." She calls out as she works to finish up the last order of the day. It looks to be nails of some sort. "So what can I do for one of the most notable bards in Yamato?"

Kauchemar ohs. "Making sure your guests were keeping fed. And Haru had some enchantment components he was doing for one of my own projects. So you've done plenty just ensuring they have a place to work despite all the changing of hands some towns have done as of late." She pushes herself up from the wall. "Everyone taking steps to ensure they're prepared for the next big push our unwanted visitors decide to make."

Miho says "Good I can't watch them all the time too so I'm glad others are keeping an eye out on them. Yeah talk about it, then again are we not much the same. Not that I want to go back to earth at least the empty suits are honest about their contempt for us. We need to stop them one way or another or this will not end. Also what they have done to the Adventurers is unforgivable."

"Even your dog is keen on making sure they don't rot away in one spot all day. Not that he grasps the complexities of the 'strange mood', he just sees them needing help. And seems to have experience in the matter," Kauchemar replies with a mischevious smirk. Though the moment of amusement is short lived, the expression fading. "For all the problems they've caused, the taking away of one's will is the most vile of all."

Miho says "He's a got a good head on his shoulders." She notes and she'll toss the dog a treat who will look at it then down it. "To think it's this region. I think it's cursed no matter what world it's on."

"There will always be people like that." Kauchemar gives a shake of her head, glamrock mane swaying with the motion. "These ones were just lucky enough to find a Macguffin they could replicate to do so with. So once those two figure out how to make that obsolete, it will take a lot of bite out of their threat."

Miho says "There will really be so what can I do for you? Our charges have passed out I think." She nots with a bit of a grin. "I'm finished here and was about to close up."

Kauchemar tilts her head a bit. Likely listening inside. "Seems like it. Pity the mindset drives one to work into exhaustion, but at least they'll get some sleep before it grabs them again." Then folds her hands behind her head. "Well, you seem more a sword person, but you are a smith so it probably doesn't hurt to ask. What's the best way to balance a staff when it has the extra weight of a foci on one end?"

Miho says "Mmm I do more than weapons, kitchen stuff, nails, you name it if it's made in a forge I can do it likely. Humm let me think on that what's the staff on." She think and then will offer her best guess at how to do it once she knows what it's made out of.

"Combination of wood and metal. Got my hands on some high quality elemental machine parts to make the foci out of for channeling arcane energies." Kauchemar pauses as she makes a mock swinging motion. "But I want to be able to give someone a good smack with it when they decide 'I'm going to get up close because mages suck at melee combat' and I get to remind them I'm not a glass cannon squishy wizard. Heh."

Miho says "Give me some time to think on it I should be able to work out a way to deal with this."

Kauchemar nods a bit. "Sounds good. I'll be around. Gotta keep an eye on our busybodies after all."

Miho Says "All right shall we get something to eat at Hifumi's?" With that she'll close up shop and do that.
