A Lucid moment

Gwen has somewhat taken a break just as she gets a guest...

Gwen has been working away on her strange mood but thanks to Uther? She'd been able to relaxe a little bit, he'd know just how to talk Gwen into cleaning up and taking a break. So she'd be found in her shop actually chilling out in the side area looking out the window as if thinking on something....

As is her standard method of appearing, Pela was... just there the entire time! No seriously this time, mostly because in the absence of the Pelapuff Cafe, Pela had taken to working in the little food stand that was in Gwen's shop, cooking all sorts of pastries and breads and ... probably basically overstocking the thing to be honest.

Pela might just be a stress baker.

Still, Gwen seemed to be less busy than usual, which meant that she could do what was necessary with all those in fey moods: Feed them. Pela slipped out from behind the counter, brandishing a sandwich with some healthy veggies and a few slices of meat. And walks over to Gwen, footsteps soft and careful so as not to spook her much, the sandwich was set in front of Pela's temporary boss. And Pela, as usual, almost immediately scampered back off to making herself invisibly visible. By cleaning a table or something.

After her last visit to Gwen, Yeowang was concerned for the clothier's well-being. So, she'd decided to pay a visit. In the state of mind Yeowang last saw her in, a Gwen not at home could be worrying. A brief vision of goblins in tutus is dismissed as unikely, though.

She will make her way to Gwen's shop, then, to just check up on things, then. She's not expecting Pela there, but apparently Gwen has attracted a caregiver, so that's good. "Good evening," she says, mainly to Pela, as Gwen's unlikely to notice if she doesn't get into the tailor's face.

Gwen had not seen Pela in a very long time. It does not mean Pela has not been around. The sneak smol one is very sealthy she could have been buy and Gwen didn't notice her. Today however she does catch notice of the food. "Is that ... a Sub?" She stares for a moment in suprise at the sandwhich. She does notice Yeowang but the food has her attention...

Oh good someone came straight to her instead of the other options! Pela clearly failed her stealth check. "...Hello." Pela responds quietly to Yeowang, looking up towards her. She pauses, then takes a deep breath and straightens up, putting on her best smile and saying, "W...welcome to the Chainmail Bikini + 1! H...how can I help you?" Yeah no in spite of being a business owner Pela still isn't good at the customer service part. But at least she's trying!
"...No? ... Just a sandwich. ...Why would a submarine be here?" Pela responds to Gwen. "...I made it for you. ...You probably need to eat. ... It has veggies and meat and some home-made mayonnaise on it as well." Home-made by who? Pela, maybe? "...How is progress going?"

Yeowang peers sidelong at Gwen, whose reaction implies she had been spotted. If briefly. Had she encountered Gwen at the very tail end of her Mood, before? She smiles as Pela greets her, and says, "It's all right, I came to see how Gwen was doing." Turning to Gwen, she eyes her thoughtfully, checks for the presence of bikinis or other questionable attire that might have been inflicted on Gwen in her distraction. "You seem to be doing better," she says thoughtfully. If staring out the window is better than hammering the rivets into jean pockets while wearing a bikini.

Gwen will thank Pela later when she snaps fully out of this as she now reaches out for the sandwhich. "no it's a sub..." She'll grab it if allowe and start to eat. It will delay her response to Plea. "I can almost feel it I just about have it...so yes I'm doing better."

Oh thank goodness Yeowang wasn't here as a customer. Pela gives a soft exhale at that, visibly shrinking a little from the 'intentionally trying to stand up a little straighter' while she had been trying to do the whole customer service thing at Yeowang. "...Oh okay, she's there." Pela says, motioning towards the already-spotted Gwen. She's /totally/ helpful. Yep.
The insistance that it's a sub gets a small blink from Pela once more, looking over towards Gwen. Pause. Silent thought. "...Sub... sandwich... oh. ...That american thing?" She murmurs thoughtfully, tilting her head thoughtfully. Hmm. "...Glad to hear that you're doing better, and getting through it. ...Jeans sound difficult to work with."

Yeowang's poise, on the other hand, is flawless, complete self-assurance in her place and stance. She nods to Pela's reply, with no hint to how helpful or not it may have been. "So I see. Gwen, how are you?" she asks directly. Pela gets a sympathetic look. She wonders if the translator gave her something confusing? She spoke English, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese in RL, and so the translator hasn't got much to do in her case, though slang words and names and loanwords often get twisty.

Gwen nods a little at Pela she goes back to eating. She's hungry and her father got it into her head. If she's not hungry she'll have an easier time with her great work. She looks to Yeowang after she's had a bite or two more of food. "So damn close I think I have it...if I'm being honest."

It didn't really give her something confusing! She just. Didn't really have that kind of sandwich usually. That Sympathetic look hadn't been missed though, smiling gently towards Yeowang in appreciation. She looks back towards Gwen after that, watching her eat. "...Oh." She says, as she realizes she forgot something important. "...Be right back." And soon she was skittering back off into the kitchen. After a short amount of time she was back with a nice cup of tea, which probably had a small mix of some sort of herbs in it, as it had a slightly earthy scent to it. Yep. It's a health drink.

Yeowang nods gravely to Gwen. She's not really a jeans person, unfortunately, so she can't properly appreciate what will be achieved, she tends more toward skirts and dresses when she's not doing athletics. Which in the game is nearly all the time, but she doesn't think of it as 'everyday wear' even if she wears it every day. "Well done," she says to Gwen. "You've made some remarkable strides. I'm sure everyone will be pleased." Of course denim is a hard-wearing fabric. If it were more flexible, it might be more suitable for her martial arts. But for a lot of the tankier folks, hard-wearing is more important than stretchy.

She hrms as Pela returns with an herbal tea. "So, how are /you/ doing?" she inquires.

Gwen watche as Pela vanishes into the kitchen and she'll turn back Yeowang and smiles "I hope so, it should make things a bit easier for people working certain jobs to not be replacing clothing as much. Also to have some better protection from day to day things." She beams at this...

Once she had that tea set down for Gwen, Pela dusts off her maid-ninja outfit a little, giving a small nod in agreement with Yeowang. "...It will be a good stride forward. Durable work clothing is good for lander and adventurer both." Pela says in agreement. The question of how /she/ was doing caused pause in Pela. She looks towards Yeowang silently, seeming to be thinking. And then she looks down. Almost as if she hadn't thought of that recently or something. "...I am ... fine. ...Ish. ...I miss my cafe." She mumbles softly.
And it seems that Gwen had the same viewpoint on the jeans-style thing. Good! Okay. Same idea is always good. Makes it easier to work together on it, right? "...It definitely is really good. ...I am unsure what my next step in my own growth will be."

Yeowang nods to Gwen. "Laborers and tanks will value the fabric greatly," she says, agreeing with Gwen and Pela, both. Durable fabric at affordable prices will change the face of labor. Have you given thought to how it will be marketed and distributed, though?" Because her mind goes to the business side of things.

Pela gets a sympathetic smile as she takes a moment to work out how she is. "We all miss Shibuya," she admits. "Alas, I'm not in the decision chain for retaking it, and I have no idea about plans or timetables. I would help, if they'd let me, but they exclude me." She's not upset, by her tone, rather, it's their folly, to ignore her logistic skills, which she'd expect would be useful in a military campaign. "But they're going to do it the Me Strong Warrior way, when they get their act together."

Gwen says "Aye it is and some of the more for looks things you can do too." Gwen beams at this she may have some memory of a certain Goblin King in mind at the moment. "You'll figure it out once you get there it kind just hit me when I was thinking about how I wanted a pair of what would be called Daisy Dukes." She get lost back in thought again. "Humm Business..." She looks at Yeowang for a moment.

"...Yes. ...I was one of the first in the area, looking into it, improving our relations with the land. ...So I feel very strongly connected to that area." Pela murmurs quietly, her gaze shifting down and away. And now it doesn't feel safe to be around there. Which is a little upsetting. "... We will get our home back, one way or another." Pela mumbles in addition to that.
She lifts her gaze back up towards Gwen, listening to her talk. "...Daisy dukes? ... You want short shorts?" She blinks a few times as she looks at Gwen. "...Good for some cosplays." Pela comments idly. She steps towards Gwen and moves to gently pat her back. "...I am going to go back to the kitchen." She adds, before starting to make her way back to that kitchen quietly.

Yeowang does not, alas, know what Daisy Dukes are, though she would probably be entirely dismissive of them if she knew. And then Pela clues her in. "Short shorts? Of denim? What's the point?" /Entirely/ impractical. But as far as business goes, she wonders, "Did you plan on just selling the jeans from here? Or making them available to other clothing resellers? I'm sure they would do well, particularly among adventurers at first, but I imagine the Landers would catch on quickly."

She nods to Pela as she explains, and says, "The game preserve was one of the first projects I worked on. Not quite from the beginning, but from early on." She looks at the sky outside and sighs, "But I should get going. I will leave you to your tasks," she says to Gwen, and it looks like Pela has already gone, so she will let herself out.
