One Day in Alne

Yeowang
Alne - Main Square

Yeowang is just exiting the Hunters' Guild, having completed several low level quests this morning. Not much XP, not much gold, but they're soloable, and she's not the sitting around type. She takes a look around the square, considering her next move. Lunch? Maybe. More quests? Possibly. Then again, she could do some more training. She's tantalizingly close to working out the Seikuken. She ponders.
Lunaris
Alne - Main Square

Lunaris has by the looks of it been hanging around for a while, perusing the hunters guild and the slow trickle of people heading in and out like clockwork while her little fox does the best impression of a cat, winding themselves around her legs in energetic anticipation to get doing something more than standing around. Of course Luna had different ideas, mainly to finally investigate this whole guild thing she's been told about. Repeatedly. And still never spared a glance until today.
Miho
Alne - Main Square

Miho is on her way to the Hunter's Guild to deliver an order to the guild itself. She wasn't sure why they didn't order local but she wans't going to complain about such business. Her tail is swishing as she goes. She'll end up passing by Lunaris and Yeowang.

"Hell, Yeowang and who is this?"
Yeowang
Alne - Main Square

Yeowang's roving eye crosses past Lunaris, a player she doesn't recognize, by the Guild entrance. She nods a greeting, even as she does a quick Inspect, finding out that she and Lunaris are in the same Guild. "Well, hello, Guildie," she says to her wryly. "I don't think I've seen you around before? Just joined?" she wonders. "Or transferred over from another Guild? Welcome to the main content, more or less." She gives a half-laugh.

She smiles as Miho passes by. Looks like it's Grandeur Day at the Hunters' Guild. "Hello, Miho," she replies, and says, "We haven't introduced ourselves yet." Back to Lunaris, she bows her head, and says, "I'm Yeowang, it's good to meet you."
Lunaris
Alne - Main Square

Lunaris lets out a soft sound of surprise as she is suddenly apprehended in introductions of all things, here of all places where she was minding her own business! She turns around to face the other pair rather sheepishly, and waves her hand, not at all prepared for this encounter, "A-ah, hey! Guildie?" Her tail swishes as she quickly tries to catch up where they got to before finally managing to pull herself together, "Oh! Sorry! No, that's new. I've mostly been avoiding the cities up until now, finally decided to.. Uh.. Get involved!" A small bow going to the pair, it's a bit awkward, as her small familiar threatens to trip her now she's moving, "I'm Luna! It's nice to meet you both, just.. Checking this place out."
Miho
Alne - Main Square

Miho grins to Yeowang "Good to see you and wait..."

She looks over to luanris looks her over and grins "Oh hey there I'm also in your guild."

She notes after an inspection. The Salamander's tail swishes a bit as she thinks.

"Well then we'll be glad to help you. I'm Miho one of the Best Blacksmiths in Yamato so far as I know."
Yeowang
Alne - Main Square

Yeowang nods to Luna about checking the place out, and about being new to the Guild. "Nice to meet you, Luna. Welcome to Grandeur, then. This is a good time to avoid the countryside," she grimaces, "with the Palace Landers pulling weird stunts in the backwater areas." She gives the small catgirl an appraising glance, but says, "Well, there any number of things to do while we wait for the higher-ups to come up with a solution. Mostly running content missions, of course," she says with a dry chuckle. "And training."

She chuckles as Miho makes the same discovery she just made. "So, if you need weapons made, Miho's your source," she explains to Luna. She is unarmed, herself, though an Inspect will reveal, for Guildies, that she is a Godhand and so probably fights fine unarmed. To Luna, she echoes Miho's offer, telling her, "Yes, if you need help, let us know."
Haru
Alne - Main Square

Haru is a figure out near the entrance of the Hunter's Guild. He did recognize Yeo in there earlier, but he was already engaged with another Adventurer at the time. Much like Miho, the white haired human had a delivery to do. There is a gesturing of the hand as the Artificer makes small talk with the Sylph on the topic of a pair of blue sapphire rings laid in silver. By the time the two finish up the conversation, he has noticed his familiar is missing. A singular blue eye looks around the Hunter's Guild before leaning outside to the street. "Oh hey Miho," says the Enchanter who is back to as 'normal' a mood as he ever is in. "Have you seen Eve?"

The rest of the Wave Artes user steps out. Navy blue jacket, slacks that will one day (very soon) be denim. Monocle of a purple lens. "Best blacksmith," Haru concurs, catching the tail end of the conversation as he wanders on over. The young man's head is on a swivel keeping an eye out for a black cat-like monster with red eyes that is too good at hiding for her own good.
Lunaris
Alne - Main Square

Lunaris grins happily at the greeting, her tail swishing in reaction to her emotions, "Thank you both! I.. Honestly don't know much of what I'm doing here, just got told this was a good place to start," she explains, motioning over at the guild, her eyes traveling back a moment later with some curiosity, "I mostly just.. Have been wandering about befriending monsters like Pecan here," nodding towards the mess of fluff at her feet, "And.. That's about it. More relaxed that way, you know?" To the comment about blacksmithing she does glance down to the rather raggedy daggers she has and chuckles lightly, "Not really my style of weapon, just for when I'm out of summons, I'm afraid! Plus.. I don't have the coin. Never really.. Collected much." As Haru emerges she gives an almost awkward dip of her head in greeting.
Miho
Alne - Main Square

Miho says "So What do you do Luna? Craft? Hunt?" Miho looks curious about the new guildie. She grins at Haru giving him waves. "Says one of the best Enchanters I know of. As for you Luna if you need help please just ask." She looks btween the small group here and pauses for a moment. "A monster tamer? Like Uta?"
Yeowang
Alne - Main Square

Yeowang offers a nod to Haru as he exits the Guild. A fellow New Worlder, but not part of the same Guild. But she knows him, vaguely. "Good afternoon," she greets him. To Lunaris, she says, "There -is- a lot to do, of course, both with getting set up for the content and learning about current events. We're a little out of sorts, currently, as players and Landers from another server have forced us out of our homes in Shibuya. But there is a lot to do, in the meantime." She smirks as Miho begins twenty questions with the newbie, arching her brow at the mention of monster taming. "Interesting."
Lunaris
Alne - Main Square

Lunaris blinks quickly at the sudden rapid barrage of questions from Miho, overwhelmed until the mention of being a tamer and she grabs on to it, "Monster Tamer.. Yeesss.." Drawing the words out as she said them, it wasn't a lie. It simply implied getting more results than she had certainly ever managed. She was perhaps closer to 'Monster bait' at this current point in time. Though the excitableness quickly infects her and she bursts into a small giggle, "Tamer! And I uh.. Am pretty good at magic? I'd just.. Rather try and tame things more than defeat them! So.. Don't use it as much." Her eyes do glitter as Haru is pointed out as an enchanter, and though about to say something she bites her tongue and winces, -that- was probably a discussion for when she wasn't broke, really. Finally she turns to Yeowang and nods excitably, "I've heard bits of that! But.. Not really seen much. Don't know if I can help much, though it'd be good to get involved...?"
Haru
Alne - Main Square

Haru tilts his head to the side in greeting for Yeowang. The two have done a number of events together, like Hunts and the like, but to say they know each other on a personal level is a stretch. What they do know meshes about as well as oil and water. Haru is a friendly sort and Yeowang is very professional so it rarely gets in the way of anything. "Afternoon Yeo," he replies back, the one visible blue eye looking just past her to look down the street. No luck. The tall human stops. He looks down. "Oh, a new friend?" he looks to Lunaris and then to investigative reporter Miho Mihorian.

"Haru Nox, nice to meet you. As Miho mentioned one of the best enchanters around," the white haired man shakes his head, thinking there are at least a couple out there that match or exceed his skill, "and premier crafter of accessories. All on display at Miho's /shop/." Of the things he is, he is not a member of the merchant's guild. Silver Swords, adventure, ho! "Also looking for a cat about this big, two tails, red eyes. Health bar is still there so she isn't far," the man mentions as he glances at the 'party' status out of the corner of his eye for his summon. The mind and verbal wandering stops to settle on the Luna-eye-sparkles. "Every little bit helps. I'm an Artificer, which is to say a Summoner and an Enchanter. We should swap stories sometime." He stops talking as he spots her. Cat. Staring at him from not far away with those red eyes like 'What? I do what I want?' catte stare.
Miho
Alne - Main Square

Miho has no idea what she may have helped caused to happen by noting that Uta too is a monster tamer. What could possibly go wrong there? She does not know yet and that may be for the bext. She would look again to the group musing for a moment "Aye I do have his work on sale at the Ironworks. Though monster taming? Humm we could put that to use."
Yeowang
Alne - Main Square

Yeowang nods to Lunaris, and says, "I'm not sure what /any/ of us can do to help. There's a lot of silence from the higher ups, and it's frustrating. They probably mean that we should do as we like on our own, but uncoordinated efforts frustrate me. So I'm waiting for some sort of direction, and will assume it's being addressed at the highest levels." Which does not, to her chagrin, include her by any stretch of the imagination. "So, stand by to stand by, on that one," she summarizes. Haru gets a nod, perhaps a professional one, and she nods about a new friend. "New friend and Guildie," she agrees, eying Haru with a puzzled expression until she realizes he's just looking for his cat. She hrms at items for sale, and says to Miho, "I will have to look through your wares, to see if anything is an upgrade."
Lunaris
Alne - Main Square

Lunaris smiles cheerfully over to Haru at the full introduction and almost falls over her small fox once again before groaning and picking them up, cradling the little vulpine in her arms, "Nice to meet you! And this bundle of mischief," she notes, nodding to the overly-excitable fox in her arms, "Is Pecan. He never runs out of energy. Pretty sure it's a bug. Literally never stops moving, except to sleep." Giving them a quick fuss and grinning far too hard at the fox before peering back up, "I'll check it out when I can! Though unless you do.. Newbie items I might be out of luck. For now. Never really dealt with currency. Then figured maybe I could set up a ranch? So.. Well, that's as far as I got so far!" Her eyes then flicker over to Miho curiously, rolling back on the balls of her feet, "Put to use? How? If I can make money that sounds good," because asking for details was obviously unneeded. Then a look of sympathy is shot over to Yeowang as she listens to the issues, "That sounds.. Tough." Followed by a shrug of washing her hands of responsibility there if she wasn't needed, "What else is there to do around here anyway?"
Haru
Alne - Main Square

Eve is a small black cat with two tails, red eyes, and is close to infringing on copyright for other types of beasts that displace. But how can you issue a lawsuit to that sweet little face? The face that is tracking Lunaris' tail swishes like she is going to pounce at any moment. Haru shakes his head to his Dark Elemental summon. No. Don't do it, Eve. She meows loudly back at him. "Eighty percent of my work is artisinal or ceremonial over utility," the Artificer says as he settles his eye contact back on the group in front of him again. A hand motions as he takes good stock of Yeo's equipment. "And I believe your gear is built for pure utility, right? Any higher number is better, yeah?" He considers it for a moment. Did he do any pure number crunching accessories lately? The whole recent project has wiped a fair amount of that brainspace. "Worst case, can put a comish in with the desired results."

"Pecan a pleasure, meet Eve," Haru says to the small fox, giving the lil one a smile and motioning to the cat, "I hope you two can play nice." That later one is to Eve, who rowls back. When his gaze settles back to the short Were Handler, the magical arts user motions, "I think we are just excited to see a new face and guildie. Well, Alliancer in my case. Uta would he pleased as punch to meet you, too, as a Slime Rancher. We have a lot of people who share the passion around." The motioning to the Hunter's Guild. "This is always a good place to go see things, meet people, and make a little money on the side. Yeo brings up a good point that working as a team is very important with the world events going on. Safe in numbers and new friendos... or rivals." A fist clenches. Rivals! Healthy competition!
Yeowang
Alne - Main Square

Yeowang shrugs about things being tough. That's just a challenge to be overcome. As far as what else there is to do, she explains to Lunaris, "Mainly we hang out, like now, just talking, or run some of the game content. The game content is still available even with the war on, and it's good XP and training, so running some of the advanced content will help you get accustomed to things, and will get you some good drops as well, with any luck."

When Haru inspects her, he will indeed note that her gear is mainly focused around fighting power and with little consideration for defense, or really any sort of set bonuses or synergy. She's got the general principle, but is no gamer and has not executed the plan perfectly by any stretch of the imagination. She's one of these crazed people that think that to hit someone harder, you have to hit someone harder.
Miho
Alne - Main Square

Miho pauses for a moment as she raises a hand. "I have a Chim message from a customer I'll be a moment."
Lunaris
Alne - Main Square

Lunaris gasps as Pecan gives a mighty struggle and flips out of her arms, plopping onto the floor with all the grace of a cat strapped to some buttered toast, and starts to investigate this almost-pouncing cat with soft little yips. Really, the familiar probably couldn't manage to scare a mouse, nevermind a displacer-cat. It was not really ever going to be much of a showdown, but at least the little thing had valor. "More artisinal?" Lunaris asks, catching onto the conversation as her ears perk up with renewed interest towards the enchanter, "So.. You're saying you make pretty things? I really need to update my wardrobe when I can.. This is all really.. Dirt cheap stuff, honestly. People keep telling me it's why I'm probably dying. They're wrong... But not by too much!" She says that part far too happily, even her tail is swaying with.. Pride? Then she pauses for a few to listen to the given advice, her head tilting at the mention of Uta again, and a keen fascination at them being called a smile rancher. Then a nod goes to Yeowang, and she shifts a bit on her feet, "Riight, so get quests here and try to find a party? That... Makes sense. How.. Hard is it? The quests?"
Haru
Alne - Main Square

Haru places a hand to his chest, "The things I make are meant to make people happy or provide options to live their best life." His free hand motions to Yeo and 'hit hard, hit gud' assessment, "that means some will want the best stats, like a bangle of attack. Some want a little flower crown of their favorite flower for a special occasion." Both hands come back together at his side as he gives Lunaris a genuine smile from tall human lands, "Its not about the coin for me, so don't worry about that. I track a different currency while being mindful of the economics of needing to source materials, labor, and my own living expenses. As an adventurer and traveler, those are not horribly high." His jacket and outfit is of nice material, however, but that is due to knowing one very good tailor! "I think we will get along juuuuust fine," he says with a bit of a laugh as he catches the tone of pride in her voice. A finger snaps as he slides open his menu, making a note of things, "With my recent advancements, I do have more capacity to apply enchantment circuits, Yeo. So I'll see what a Power Bangle is. I was planning on stretching my new capabilities out now that I'm a Moonlight Goldsmith. I'll give you a chim when its up on Miho's shelves."

The displayer cat and fox are taking a moment to figure each other out. For all of Eve's tsundere behavior, she just wants to play and pounces in short order.
Yeowang
Alne - Main Square

Yeowang says to Lunaris, "The quests range in difficulty from things pretty much anyone can do, to things you need a tailored party with high-level skills." (Ahem, Triffids, sigh.) "As far as clothes, if you don't need armor, Gwen's shop right here does normal clothes for adventurers." She points to the Chain Mail Bikini +1. "I'm not sure what the name is in reference to, to be honest. But they've got a reasonable selection."

She ignores the pets' antics for the moment, considering Haru's words. She indeed has a bangle of attack, though it's tucked down under her clothes, where it won't glint in the light or make noise. She's a /Shadow/fist, after all. A well-dressed one, to be sure, slacks and jacket are tailored and likely weren't cheap to begin with, and have good enchants on them. But cash was never a shortcoming for her. "You two probably have more in common with each other than I do with either of you, so take his advice ahead of mine, as far as gear and gameplay goes," she says to Lunaris after some consideration.
Lunaris
Alne - Main Square

Lunaris taps her cheek thoughtfully as she shifts her weight from one foot to the other, as if only just considering equipment for the first time and what she'd want out of it. After a few moments she nods and replies, "No, I want pretty.Got to enjoy yourself, right? Take things slow," her eyes glimmering happily at the thought, she was not particularly a stat cruncher. As likely evidenced by her odd introduction. Though she does gawp a bit at Haru saying it wasn't about the money, "But isn't that.. The point of selling things? Or everyone would ask you for stuff, right? You can't just give it out to every newbie! Though I do have a cool idea!" A grin playing on her lips, hands folding behind her back as her appearance shifts playful, nodding happily about getting along, "I try to with everyone! It's just.. People complain when I try to tame the bosses." Then she eeps, putting a hand to her mouth, probably not the thing to admit when trying to make friends. Not that she seems too chargrined about the whole thing. The talk about clothes then catches her attention, glancing at the chainmail bikini pointed out and letting off a sweet giggle, "That is.. Something alright! Long as I don't have to wear that myself.." Then glancing up to Yeowang with a worried look, "Why.. Wouldn't I get on with you?" Ears lowering almost imperceptibly while Pecan starts to run around like mad, trying to avoid the displacer-cat and threatening to trip up half of the adventurer's walking past.. Though oddly avoids all the landers.
Haru
Alne - Main Square

Haru gives a little cryptic laugh as he mentions, "It is not free, but the currency exchanged is of different value and representation." He doesn't go into deep detail about it. There are artisans that do not create their works just to turn a profit of time and materials. What drives them to do so is a very personal matter. Then there are those that are simply paying off debts, where it seems like they are doing something for free but it is just to get out of the red. On more interesting topics! "There are a few bosses I think Uta has tried to tame. It was a little sad to find out a particular Ooze was not a Slime. Or maybe it was a Pudding? A Gel?" He runs a finger along the rim of the silver-lined purple monocle. "If people are complaining, get better people or ignore 'em, y'know?" Coming from the person who seems to get through his Hunts with puns and dramatic entertainment relief.

"Why indeed," Haru muses on, shifting to stand next to Lunaris and compliment the ear-lowering foxgirl. He asides a perfectly good chance to tease about the Chainmail Bikini bit to make the 'look, you made Lunaris sad' face. It can only be taken so seriously while there are gekkers and meows of familiars playing in the background.
Miho
Alne - Main Square

Miho finishes up her call, it was about nails of all things from the sounds of it on her end. She seems pleased with the results on it. The smug looking Salamander says "I heard the Chain Mail Bikini +1 has a good selection. Though I have never met the owner. Sounds like you and Uta would have fun together!"
Yeowang
Alne - Main Square

Yeowang arches a brow, and smiles to Lunaris, explaining, "You two are both magic types. I am very much not a magic type." Secret: She does have a limited Magic potential. She doesn't like to use it, and finds it hugely unreliable. "It's not that we can't work together, or get along. But I can't offer you game advice." She's only just worked out her own peculiarities, nevermind some other class's. She shrugs at Haru's economic theories, they clearly don't apply to the chairperson of the Ninetails Bank. The familiar's antics go on without her paying it much mind. She says to Miho, "I know the proprietress reasonably well. She's working on a dress for me," she explains.
Lunaris
Alne - Main Square

Lunaris looks relieved at Yeowang's reply, her ears perking up once again as the worry turns into a broad grin, "That's alright! I'm bad at listening to advice anyway. Besides, the only advice I can offer is have fun." She really did wield her current ineptitude as some sort of badge of honour, "So I'm just happy if we can get along. I'm not here to be.." Glancing around the crowd before appearing to single out one of the passers by, "Leetprogamer-one-three-five. Or any other string of numbers." Giving a wave of her hand and nodding to Miho, "I'll keep an eye out for her then. Though.. I have no idea where she is or what she looks like!" She breaks into a happy snicker, nodding at Haru after she manages to collect herself, "Yes! That's what I thought. But most teams seemed like that. Too busy trying to grind stats and go after this item or that." The talk of currency makes her head cock, not entirely appearing to follow the whole thing, then narrows her eyes, "So.. How would I go about ordering something if I wanted to? And taming bosses is the best! Uh, well. Trying to."
Haru
Alne - Main Square

Haru shrugs back at Yeowang, as if dismissing another's thoughts with his own dismissal. A counterspell of a counterspell. Oil and water! It draws a quirk behind him as he notices that Eve is getting a little fiesty, "Alright, Eve, lets get going." A paw stomps the ground as a bit of black mist puffs out. The Artificer extends out a hand and the small cat hops up, climbing onto the shoulders and Navy blue jacket that the cloth-bound caster wears. "Miho normally takes care of any requests if they are accessory in nature. Though a Chim works just as well," he speaks for himself and his goods. The human's gaze and body is preoccupied with the cat that decided to get situated on him instead of near him. Eve is all riled up after getting to play. Not that Haru minds any. "Seconded on Uta and Gwen. Lets see. Cloth gear from Gwen. Accessories from Haru. Weaponry from Miho. Work from the Hunter's Guild." It is like he is listing off all the important parts from a tutorial quest. "Yup. Live your best life, have fun. Recipe for a good time all around." A hand reaches to scritch behind his cat's ears. "That said, need to scoot. Been nice meeting you."
Miho
Alne - Main Square

Miho says "I can do enchanting but that's as far as magic goes for me as well. Now give me the right tool and I'll pull off what people would think to be magic." She thinks and will offer Lunaris an friend invite while she's thinking about it.
Yeowang
Alne - Main Square

Yeowang smirks as that little miscommunication is resolved. "I am far from an elite gamer," she admits. "My little brother, now, he'd have mastered this game a year ago, he'd be running it today. But he's not in it, more's the pity." As to having fun, she smiles wanly. Apparently fun isn't her objective, either. Now Gwen, she can describe, holding her hand up well over her head. "A Sylph this tall," she says, and that is probably all that's needed. She waves to Haru as he departs, appending to his list of crafters, "Giganpor if you need armor, I think?" Not that she does, of course, she's a clothie like the casters. That's the Godhand thing, again. She nods at Haru's advice to Lunaris, though she's in no position to offer any of her own. "I actually need to bail as well," she admits. "i have some timers running out..." She will offer a wave, then hustle off.
Lunaris
Alne - Main Square

Lunaris raises an eyebrow as only the height and race of Gwen is passed along, but she figures she'll make do. She had challenged herself to find other things on similar lacks of information before. Not that she had ever found them, but there was now a precedent for it at least. "Alright, I'll keep an eye out. And I think I just need clothes and some cute stuff! Not found too many things that help with taming, it's all 'fireball this', 'slash that', you know?" Giving a small smile at that and offering a small wave to Yeowang, tactfully avoiding the topic of family for her own reasons, "It was lovely meeting you!" Miho's mention makes her tail sway happily and dips her head in acknowledgement, accepting the request, "Thank you! And.. That's really cool. I'll, uh, work on the plan. What I'm hoping for is a medium for summoning.. It's all I use really," that said to both Miho and Haru as she gives a wave to the latter as well, "It's been really good to meet you all. I'll.. See what I can take on with the guild, itching to try something pretty much!"
Miho
Alne - Main Square

Miho looks over ot Yeowang "If you can't get Gigan I can do armour when needed." She looks back to Lunaris. "The Bikini also has an real food stand if you don't mind a very strange mix of Western and Japanese food. It's fresh though." She grins. "Best of luck to you I'll need to get moving too."
