Once more into the Forges of Eld

Miho has chosen to aid Kaydon in his forging quest by showing him the forges that Giga showed here long ago.

Miho
Dun Loireag - The Peaks

The location was far, far out of the way. More so than anything else in Dun Loireag from the looks of it. This part of the city was old, so old? The buildings caves and misty water had not been disturbed in a long time.

Miho is waiting here tail swishing while she's leaned up against an old wall she had thought long and hard about Kaydon. In the end, she'd chosen to help him by showing him this place under a few conditions, which she was pretty sure the giant Devil Dog would agree too.
Kaydon

It's not that Kaydon wasn't good at survival. Finding his way to something far away was well within his ability. But Miho had set forth rules, and he had agreed to them.

That's the only reason he was even standing there now, one hand holding his pack as he looks at Miho, "So is this it? Or do we have a bit further to go still?"
Miho

Miho says "We got a bit further go go, but there's something I need to get your word on. First up we're not here to loot this place. You can study what is there, be in spired but do not loot it or this place will be lost to future smiths who come to learn here. Second off? I would fear SCALE might loot this place, should they ever find out about it."
Kaydon
Dun Loireag - The Peaks

"Okay, don't take anything and don't tell Scale about it?" He asks, as he just makes sure he understands, "No problem. I can keep it to myself. And you know I'm not the looting type."
Miho

Miho nods "Oh I know. I had to fight the urge to not bring things home with me when I was shown." She grins and she'll take a moment to pull a small item out of her pack and it hovers ther lighting up. "This way we're going underground." She'll head into one of the hallway which is pitch dark save for her enchanted light.

"So The Arch Mage told Gigan about this place, then he told me and now? I'm passing it on to you, this will be a bit of a trip." She notes before trotting ahead tail swishing.

And so Kaydon follows, "Okay. Well should I ever need to bring a non-Scale aprentice up here, I will." He figures this might be the key to unlocking exactly what he needs to do to make this gunblade design of his work. That's been the main thing on his mind for what feels like weeks now.

The pair will traverse the hallways for some time but finally as they head forward the light spreads out. It flickers off Gnome symbols before they hit the forges. Ancient, wonderful forges. The air seems to sing on its own even though much of it's damaged and broken.

Even in such a state? There is still quite a sense of it is still here. The sort of sense Kaydon might have had when he first entered into a forge. The fires he could make, the wonders, the /power/ inside it is something entirely different yet very much the same.

Whoever worked here had the sense of trying to hone their art in a way that neither Miho even with her master or Kaydon has achieved yet. That might be more than anyone who is still alive, the madness inherent in that such quest here. Yet this is also at the same time what blacksmith are. That they strive to perfect.

Then off in the corner which looks like trashed metal at first. Until the light falls in it, its armour At first it looks to be just armour, perfectly fine, well-made armour. But at the same time, there is more mixed in. Sword hilts, finished blades needing mountings, and more. All of them works of art that the two of them would probably take years to make.

"Wehn Giganpor showed me this I wasn't sure what to think. Now I'm much like he was on the matter. If smith had a religion? This would be one of those old shrines."

Kaydon finally finds where she was taking him. He stops at the entrance, taking a moment to say a silent prayer to whoever used to run this place. Even mostly destroyed, it's still a work of art.

"This is incredible. Can you imagine what this place must have looked like in it's prime?" He starts to walk around, trying to get a good look at stuff. Anything that catches his eye suddenly gets his attention, "Was this guarded when Giganpor came up here? Or was this just sitting here abandoned, waiting to be found?"
Miho

Miho says "I have had dreams about it Kaydon. This is what my family have strived for. So I get it. It was not guarded when I was shown it. The Arch-mage was the one who tipped him off recall the Lander mage who actually fought along side us in a few battles? So it's been protected by people not knowing it's here or the way to it."
Kaydon

"I gotcha." Kaydon says, as he kneels next to one of the relics, "Are we able to pick these up and look at them?" He asks.

He has no intention of stealing it, but he feels like he needs to get hands on with it to really understand it. He hopes that's okay, but he wanted to clear it with Miho first. That way he could be sure of the rules regarding it.

Miho grins "Feel free to becareful however. Still take a look see if there's anything that really calls to you in all of this."
Kaydon

Kaydon hmms, picking up an object and rolling it around in his fingers for a second before putting it back. He is at it for a while, touching things, flipping it over to get a better look at it. But after searching for some time, he spots something.

It's just a glint that catches his eye, but he turns and moves towards it. As he brushes something off of it, he sees it. It's not very big, but it's a kind of spring-like mechanism, "Wait, this would be perfect.."

Miho is going to sit back and watch Kaydon do his thing. She's here to help him find his way forward as she did before him after all. Her tail swishes a bit and she says "So found something what did you find?" She's curious not and her liminal rings seem to flare up a little bit with interest.

Kaydon brushes off the device a bit, and then hmms. He starts taking notes on a notepad, turning it over and sketching. He pulls out a ruler and measures it, "I think this is perfect for what I'm building. I might have to scale it up a bit and make it out of a more durable metal, but it could work.."

He takes a few more notes, taking a knee in order to look over a few of the other parts that were near this one.

Miho nods once and keeps watch on Kaydon as he works "You know I'm starting to get some ideas again for something I can do and the more I think about it? I think I know what I have to do too. So I must thank you for getting me to come back here. Still just what are you working on?"
Kaydon
Dun Loireag - The Peaks

"Oh man." Kaydon says, as he picks up the device, and then puts it back where he had found it initially, "I think I have what I need. Thank you as well, Miho. I will absolutely keep the secret of this place, you have my word." He holds up his hand as he swears

Miho says "I'd not have brought you here if I didn't trust you. Though if you ever find another smith who needs this place? Bring them here with the same condtions I gave you. Come lets go back top side and hit up Hifumi's for some food. That sounds good? I don't know about you but I'm hungry."
Kaydon

"Sounds good, lead the way!" Kaydon says, as he tucks away the sketch and notebook. He's been itching to get back to the forge, and now that he has something to work with, he'll really be able to make some progress.
