Duty Session 467: Totally Typical Tomb

Landers don't leave bodies to bury, but graveyards are still created as a place for them to mourn the departed. For some reason these places are randomly becoming infested with undead. The Hunter's Guild has an open quest available for clearing these infestations.

June

June is as June does... and well she's been testing her new scripture powers by punching undead back to death. She is also the queen of PUGs and she lives up to that, just shooting out invites to any adventurer who looks to be idle or bored, or just not doing something June thinks is as important as puching undeath in the face. The short woman looks like your average auntie or a librarian in her late thirties early fourties... dressed in Red Sonja cosplay with 0 shame about it all.
Toshiro
Yamato - 3 - 3 - 0

Toshiro was little more than an idle and bored adventurer mere moments ago. A towering pillar that somehow radiated 'what the hell am I doing' energy while still seeming so confident in himself. Fortunately for him, he got scooped up by a tiny little thing that had something for him to do. The oversized man carefully adjusts his fine clothing, assuring his hat is firmly planted on top of his head. Lips curled into a pleased and pleasant smile, lips parting slightly to reveal a glimpse of his razor sharp pearly whites. He remained silent for the moment, simply watching the others while taking in his surroundings.
Haru
Yamato - 3 - 3 - 0

Haru would never shame June's Red Sonja cosplay. In fact he comes in with a, "You know June, you wear that well." A whole hand goes over the Were's vicious outfit. "If no one has ever said it, or made it weird, well check both boxes." He waggles his eyebrows. The human in a navy jacket has never been one to cross shame with a damn good time. A damned good time is often found at the Hunter's Guild! It certainly takes his mind away from the cat herding for the War situation given that there is a lot more to the world than potential imperialism. "And," the Artificer looks to, and up, to Toshiro. He is tall, but Toshiro is towering, "new friendo? Don't think I've seen you around before. As the Inspect says," he points to an imaginary spot above his head, "Haru Nox. Artificer of Silver Swords." He gives a thumb motion over his shoulder, "Wave Artes user, so I'll be in the back appreciating June's massive carnage prowess."
Curtana
Yamato - 3 - 3 - 0

Unfortunately, June's Red Sonja cosplay wouldn't get quite the reaction she may have been expecting when she recruited this wandering knight. Curtana rubs the back of his neck with a gauntlet-clad hand as he meets the other two adventurers. "Looks like i'll be counting on you to give aid then. I'm more of a frontline person, myself." The shaggy-haired man motions towards the sword on his belt, as if his heavy armor wasn't proof enough of that. "And i'm Curtana, pleasure to meet you all."
June
Yamato - 3 - 3 - 0

June blushes at Haru "You have a girlfriend." she slaps his chest likely with far more strength than she intends and way more than a little auntie should have. Then something changes and one paying attention would note that she's speaking in something other than Japanese, in this case it's Quenya (Tolkien's low Elvish) however the translation system works fine to understand her. "Besides, Wake would kill me if I slept with Fuka's boyfriend... and cute boys and too much drinking... or cute girls or... Junie... Junie stop thinking of cute butts and too much booze and think of punching undead, punching undead... You punch the undead and you prove you're the best scribe in Yamoto and you're happy. You sleep with cute boys who are spoken for and Wake yells at you, and Fuka cries and suddenly you're the bad guy and..." she suddenly looks up "Skeletons!" she announces in Japanese before turning to walk off towards the infested mouring grounds she's located.

The location is easy enough to spot once they get close as the clouds close in and landscape becomes obviously 'haunted graveyard'. She spends the whole trip pretending she didn't say any of the Elvish but then... given her condition people just get use to it or don't hang out with her.
Toshiro
Yamato - 3 - 3 - 0

Toshiro turns his golden eyes toward Haru as he speaks, smile growing into a grin. "You most certainly haven't. Not unless you spent a lot of time tavern crawling and sight seeing." The monster of a man leans forward slightly to get a better look at the silver haired human, thick tail gently swaying from side to side behind him. "But I imagine folks like you all were out facing dangers and exploring the world while I was sipping drinks and soaking in saunas." His words tilt toward an almost teasing tone as he speaks, but the glint in his eyes and curve of his lips emanate nothing but the friendliest of spirits.

His attention turns to the group as a whole, smile refusing to fade as he continues. "Call me Toshiro. I'm a...Hm..." There is a pause, his brow furrowing slightly as he stands up straight. After a moment of menu navigation his face relaxes once more. Though before he could be reminded of his own class, the woman leading the charge would interrupt him with most curious of rambles. His features relax as he watches her, grinning from fin to fin all the while. "Yes. Skeletons. Lead the way, beautiful." He follows after her without hesitation or question, long strides just as relaxed and easy as a walk in the park.
Haru
Yamato - 3 - 3 - 0

Haru is many things. Tall. Sophisticaed with that monocle on. Stylish with Pendragon brand jeans that just hit the market. He is not, however, strong. The whack from the blushing June sends him back with a dignified, "Oh," ok, a dignified rumble as the wind comes back, "well to be fair Wake has already threatened to kill me a half dozen times but hasn't yet and Fuka would start suggesting adding you to our harem." But realistically that whole statement is background pantomime for June's elvish addition to the Tolkien series. A hand rubs over his chest as he looks to Toshiro. "Actually, I'm more of a crafter. Accessory Forging. Enchantment. Skeleton blasting is just a good way to let off some steam and have a good time. Plus travel. Its a big world out there," he says with a smile. There is a head tilt on the announcement of class but his one blue eye does shift to the final chapters of June's fanfic. She is a scribe, she could probably write one.

A hand raises to Curt, "Welcome to the team. I don't heal, but I don't think you three will need it." Debuffs. Enchanter liiiffffeee.
Curtana
Yamato - 3 - 3 - 0

Curtana couldn't help but start blushing as he overhears some of June's rambling, surprised at how random and offbeat it seemed to be. He almost made a comment about it, but thinks otherwise.

Curtana gives a quick nod to Toshiro as he's introduced to the taller man, a smile forming on his lips. "I'm sure we'll be fine as long as we use our numbers to our advantage." The brown-haired knight makes an additional note to help cover Toshiro if he needs the air.

Haru's statements of some of his skills draws Curtana's gaze, and he grows noticably interested. "I dabble in some crafting, but I don't have any real focus. I'm sure you being able to Enchant items keeps you busy." The note that the lack of any healing as Curtana thumping his chestplate with a fist. "Well, I can do some basic healing as well."

The haunted graveyard in question does have the knight making sure that his shield is secure, and he takes a deep breath to calm himself. "Never was a fan of these places..."
June
Yamato - 3 - 3 - 0

June smiles once they've reached the grave yard, well more memorial given that landers don't leave corpses and adventurers respawn. "Alright, lets go punch undeath in the face." she says with a confidence and upright bearing that speaks of pure confidence. Then in Quenyan she says "And then once we're done we can get drunk, have something good to eat... and worry about where we'll wake up when we wake up... and hopefuly whoever's in the bed won't be upset about it." she nods her to her self and lightly punches the side of her head "Brain on the punching Junie." she commands before her cestus materalize around her fist, the words Mandos and Vaire glowing in carved script on plates slipped into position on her cestus.

There is a sound of groaning and shuffling before the party comes across a horde of zombies, a mix of all races of imanity on display in all their shambling brain hungry glory. "Time to punch Undeath." she says clanging the metal fist covers together.
Haru
Yamato - 3 - 3 - 0

Haru can't help but grow a smile as he hears the thoughts of June out there. It is his intention, no, his DUTY, to tease for both himself and Fuka both. With a broad grin on his face he starts a Wave Arte that draws fire into a focal orb in his hand. The crystal ball grows a solid amber color, causing the zone to become more crisp. Hot. "Wow, June. Is it getting hot in here or are those future chapters you are writing making their way into reality?" he eyebrow waggles at her. No. Its Haru debuffing all the zombies to have less Fire resistance. It already wasn't high so its practically a damage multiplier now. One of them even bursts into flames with a damage over time debuff.

While he is roasting some zeds, Haru has the time to consider, "You know, normally Enchanting would keep me fairly occupied but with the war? Accessory Forging. Crowns and all. Its quite a topic. Lots in common with these zombies here." Benefit of being in the back row, plenty of time for banter. A gasp. "Were ZOMBIES the inspiration for the Crowns?!" Dun dun duhn!
Toshiro
Yamato - 3 - 3 - 0

Toshiro can't help but let out a bit of a chuckle as June continues her rambling. Sharp eyes watch her with curiosity as he reaches into the folds of his intricately layered attire. He's careful not to disturb the fabric too much as he retrieves a pair of simple daggers from their hiding place within. With one in each hand, he watches with baited breath as the swarm of zombies start to trudge their way in the party's direction. "Thank goodness these things don't know how to run."

As much as he would love to continue with the quips, these 'Wave Artes' simply wouldn't allow for it. The bipedal beast's tail twitched slightly as he focused on his incantation, long fingers fiddling with the blade in his hand as he carefully weaved the arte. Once it was complete he would wave his hand out, an arc of flame torching the enemies weakened by his fellow Enchanter's techniques. The flames were relatively weak, but the debuff gave them the extra kick needed to ensure Toshi carried his weight in the battle. "So you're involved in this war I've heard so much chatter about? We'll have to have a little chat about that later, my friend. I'm always curious of such things."
Curtana
Yamato - 3 - 3 - 0

Curtana nods his head at June's straightforward approach to the job at head. No need for pretty words when it's doing something a good amount of people would consider routine nowadays. He does pointingly does his best to look elsewhere as she starts speaking again to herself, though still with a hint of red to his cheeks.

Drawing his sword with his right hand, Curtana draws his left hand down the length of the blade. In it's wake, the blade bursts into magical fire that stays around the weapon's length. Firebrand is a classic for a reason. "I'm more the cutting type myself."

Moving in to the edge of the blast zone from Haru's Wave Arte, Curt lets the shambling zombies move towards him before swinging his blade. This way, he's keeping out of Haru's work while swinging the flaming weapon about, though his nose is wrinkling from being this close to flaming corpses. "Mind if I join in the conversation as well? It's always good to share info."
June
Yamato - 3 - 3 - 0

June gives Haru 'the look' "I will punch you if you keep listening in when I'm thinking." she says and nods her head "And you do not want to be punched I'm almost certain." she says before turning with a ballarina's grace to put her metal clad fist THROUGH a zombie's head, with it sort of dangling there for a heartbeat before it starts to disolve into sparkles of pixels. Then she's off, as the trio of casters drop fire and even slash with flaming weapons, June punches... literally punching undeath back to death.

Once the last of the zombies is burnt or punched back to the grave she shakes her fists almost like she's shaking off nonexistant gore. "To the mausoliem it's where we usually find the seed of evil that creates all the undead." since they aren't created from corpses what with their nonexistance. She notes the wall that probably hides a secret. "Just... reenforce the wall and bury it... we'll head down the standard stairs." she says to her party with a nod. Switching to Elvish she says "Wouldn't really want to get into any sub quests, we're here to test the final word and see if we can't find the evil book other people have encountered... gota get some of those pages right Junie... always pushing forward with trying to find the Roseta stone for Alvarian." she sighs and her cestus vanish before she knuckles the side of her head again "Just think about punching undeath till we get there."
Haru
Yamato - 3 - 3 - 0

It is true. Haru most certainly does not want to be punched by June. A friendly tap earlier was enough to cause a brief Drowning from lack of air. Although the war is not in his top ten topics, it becomes one when you could have your free will stolen from you. Its a bit of a buzzkill. "I am a War Coordinator for the New World Alliance. Involved, yes," he asides to Toshiro as they bake some zombies. "Happy to talk about it," he offhands, taking one of the Wave Arte rings around his orb and hurling it towards a zed. The hand motion stops near Curtana, "and that extends to you as well. We need all the aware and capable hands, hearts, and minds we can get. There will always be a balance between that and our personal goals, albiet the later is hard to accomplish with an invasion nipping at your heels."

"Speaking of nipping," Haru keeps a casual pace towards the back, as that cloth armor is not for show. Its also for low armor class! "Seed of evil! Bury the stairs. June declares it, so, and so thusly it must be done!" he adds a bit of energy into passing up the secret passage. Normally that sort of stuff gives Adventurers the tingles, but we have a mission! "Alv! Our mysterious 'advanced before-before time' race," he translates with a smile on his face. "If anyone can do it, its you, June. If you are not the Server's best Scriptological genius, I don't know who is." Speaking of aptitude, Haru's forte lies in Earth and Fire. Fire, as seen before and Earth... *THUMP* He stomps his foot in the ground in a way that would make an Earth bender proud as the ground rumbles to add several extra 'reinforcing rocks' to the secret passage area. "Meanwhile," he circles his fingers to represent the Earth bros, "we rock."
Toshiro
Yamato - 3 - 3 - 0

Toshiro shoots a quick glances toward Curtana, brows raising for a second before his features quickly relax once more. "Well, so long as the center of our conversation doesn't mind a crowd. I'm certainly in no place to complain." His attention then fixes back onto the thinning zombie swarm, following the others lead and cautiously advancing as they create a safe, zombie free space. "You sound like a very noble man, Haru. I look forward to hearing what it is that you have to say."

He continues after them, eyeing the secret passage as the others seem to make a note of it. There's a brief pause as he glances between the party, a moment of hesitation before he inevitably follows their leads. He begins an incantation, but in the end any attempts at further barricading the door were drowned out by the much more experienced magic user's potent Earth artes and Curtana's efforts. Mere pebbles amongst a landslide. So instead he turned to June, picking out what key words he could from her ramblings. "Didn't she just tell you not to listen to her thoughts, my friend? You really ought to be more careful."
Curtana
Yamato - 3 - 3 - 0

The threat coming from June does indirectly Curtana's unasked question, and he makes a note to ignore the ramblings in the future. Especially if they may be rather crude at times. "Usually the deepest and darkest hole, aye. Just means something to look forward to after all of this." The bricked up tunnel stands out against the rest of the stonework of the mausoleum, but they're here for a good reason. Best to help secure it though.

Haru's stomp onto the earth reinforcing the secret passage makes it seem like getting into said passage would take some serious work. So much so, Curtana's efforts pale in compairison to Haru's superior talents. The finger point towards him does draw the knight up. "Exactly. I...well, I don't know how much help I would be, but i'll be glad to offer it." It seems like his days of keeping out of the way might be changing soon.

Curtana just waves his shield as he notices Toshiro's efforts also being drowned out. "And I have to agree with Toshiro. I hope you don't mind some questions from the both of us."
June
Yamato - 3 - 3 - 0

June nods her head and starts punching the dirt lifted by everyone else. Each punch flattening the earth and shaping it until it's hard to tell there is anything there, even more so when the grass eventually grows over it. "Down the stairs." she says heading through the door of the mausoleum and down the stairs at the back. A few courses of marble stairs and then it opens up into platform over a pit.

In the pit is a true horror of a monster. A pile of zombies somehow fused into a massive amalgum that acts almost like an ameoba made of rotting bodies. The great creatur trying to crush the party with psudopods of stacked zombies.
Haru
Yamato - 3 - 3 - 0

"If I have the answers, and they are a not one of the super secret sensitive stuff, then welcome to share them over a good meal and a drink," Haru offers as the party progresses onwards. "Trust me when I say everyone can do something to help. When we were evacuating Seeker's Landing, which is across the sea in the Palace Lands, we were able to get Landers to safety through plenty of people who did little more than a series of escort runs." The white haired human raises his hand, "myself included. Its not quite as sexy as slaying a dragon, but it does save lives." Noble? Maybe. He that in part of his all-spice blend as much as the teasing of June, which could always end poorly. Whats life without a little danger? All spice, because Old Spice would not be New World style!

Speaking of spice. What the duece is this thing?! Haru's face looks blank. "Nope," is all he has to say about that. "Nope," and the orb becomes red hot. The Wave Arte chant includes a fair amount of 'Ignis' as flame spouts out alongside a series of Nopenopenope. "Like a rotting flesh slime," he says against the roar of a Resident Evil level flamethrower.
Toshiro
Yamato - 3 - 3 - 0

Toshiro is content to listen to Haru's stories of the war efforts, tales of their grand attempts at saving the lives of the Landers. His smile remains persistent as they descend the stairs, his fingers flipping one of his to tap the hilt against his chin. "And you said you were a crafter of accessories. Sounds to me like you're more of a saver of lives. I suspect we could learn a lot from this man, my dear Curtana." Lips pull into a crooked grin as he shifts his weight to gently nudge the shorter human with his elbow.

Unfortunately, further conversation had have to wait. The smell hit him before anything else, the mass of festering flesh punching him directly in the nose before it could even attempt to swing in their direction. "What the HELL IS THAT?" The towering man took a half step back when he saw the thing, jaw clenching as the smile was quickly vanishing from his face at the sight of it. Such things had appeared in movies before, but seeing it right before his very eyes? Looking so real and FILTHY?

The words of his Wave Arte are muttered quickly under his breath, long fingers tightly wrapping around his blades as he finds himself unable to look away from the monstrosity. He keeps a safe distance, unwilling to even get near it if he could help it. Once again he would follow Haru's lead, this time unleashing a rapid barrage of small fireballs that would riddle the thing's massive body. Bodies? No, don't think about it too hard. Just kill it. "Is EVERY dungeon this disgusting!?"
Curtana
Yamato - 3 - 3 - 0

June takes the more literal approach and compounds the earth, something that Curt should have expected. It's basically a different way of flattening earth for a firm foundation. "Escorting people still helps, even if we complain about having to do it in the first place. I'm sure most of the Landers are happy for all the aid." Haru makes it sound so simple. Then again, not everyone has to be on the front lines. "Agreed. But you know him making himself out to be a simple accessory crafter shows just how humble he is. Might need to take his humble words with a grain of salt."

Making his way down the stairs, the groans coming from within the pit does the oppositeCurtana peers down slowly at the fleshy abomination down below him and makes a face torn between disgust and pity. "Ugh. I know it's just a monster, but this thing is just flat-out revolting." While a part of him want to reignite his sword again, the ceiling certainly draws some attention due to just how loose it appears.

Smirking softly, Curtana materalizes a simple pole from his inventory before stabbing upwards at the ceiling. Each poke seems to be hitting a weak spot, as chucks of rock starts to freefall downwards. "I may not be as skilled with the earth as you are, Haru, but I have my methods!"
June
Yamato - 3 - 3 - 0

June looks over the creature, the general layout, and at Curtana's note she looks to the area oposite him. She shifts, iron scales growing over her body as the little Auntie is replaced with an iron scaled mini minotaur, thick iron horns sprouting from her head. Then she scuffs her hoof on the floor before charging at a weakspot to help drop the roof down into the pit as Toshiro and Haru flamethrower the creature into place and Curtana drops the other side.

June snorts "I do hate those things." she says green fog snorting from her nostrils. She stomps towards the exit tunnle which finaly opens up into a large room.

On a bier in the middle of the room rests a skeletal sphinx with a key dangling inside her ribcage. "Greetings." the obviously intelegent undead then poses a riddle with the ending explainging that failing in properly answering is a one way trip to chewed on by a sphinx-ville
Haru
Yamato - 3 - 3 - 0

"Good architectural talent is in high demand," the Artificer notes when Curtana takes a structural approach to the enemy, "while blob-o-zombies are not. Most dungeon runs don't have this sort of Nope in it, but most have something like it around. Sewers have, well, sewers for example." There is a laugh at the high praise coming his way, "haven't been called humble in a while." With the last of his fire channeling flamethrowing coming to an end, he concludes, "recently a dietic style being called me pretentious and to fuck off." A short 'ha' of a laugh, "ah, for as long as we have been here we are always learning something new about the world." It dawns on him that this may be of importance to June, "Which I hope they clued you in with Jun..." interupted by the very intelligent undead greeting them.

The Artificer shakes his head. "Hmm," Haru thinks about it. As much as he loves riddles, he doesn't know the answer to that one. Instead he steps back and concentrates, summoning out a sprite of Air that pulls from the dusty tunnels. The creature is little more than a ball of static electricity with wings. "Alright, Yumi, you know the drill," he says to his Air Element summon as a tether of lightning crackles between them. His way of getting the key involves running in, sparks landing at every step of the way. That is clearly not the correct answer, causing a hostile response back at him. Getting close to an attack causes his positions to blink-shift between his summon and himself, Yumi giving a shock to the creature when it comes in contact with her. The whole thing takes a fair bit of mana to maintain while setting up a key grab and looks a lot like evasion tanking with electricity.
Toshiro
Yamato - 3 - 3 - 0

Toshiro frowns toward Haru. "Are you serious? Why would anyone design a game like this!?" His tension only seems to rise as they continue hurling fire at the creature, jagged teeth clenching together as he does everything in his power to ignore the stench of burning rotten flesh. It's then that he notices Curt poking at the ceiling of all things. But just as he parts his jaw to get after him, he would be silenced by the sound of the structure collapsing down on the beast. It wasn't much longer after that before their combined efforts would bring the thing down. "...Well. Good work everyone."

Toshi takes a moment to dust himself off and regain his composure, silently hoping that the stench of the thing wouldn't linger in his precious fabrics. As they continue forward the Were Fang's shoulders start to droop a bit. "That wasn't the end of it? I assumed that was one of the boss monsters I've heard so much about." But no, there was still more horrors to face. The Infiltrator's tail twitches to one side as he spots the skeletal beast lips pressing into a flat line at the sight. "As much as I would love to play your little games-"

His words are cut off as Haru and his spirit jump into action, leading to the less experienced adventurer following his lead. When the undead beast lunges forward toward the human, he launches a quick arrow of pure arcane energy toward it. The well placed, or perhaps just lucky, shot impacts at the same time as the electric shock. Hopefully enough to do some damage to the thing.
Curtana
Yamato - 3 - 3 - 0

June's transformation into a minotaur certainly catches the self-styled knight off guard for a moment, but after a few moments of processing this fact just gets Curtana to shrug his shoulders before going back to his ceiling collapsing. Two years of living in this world full time has gotten him a little used to how wild magic can be. "I mean...I know the basics such as bricklaying and proper plumbing. I'm certainly nothing special in that reguard."

Curt notices the look Toshiro is giving him and gives a sheepish smile in response. "I didn't want to get close to that thing if I could help it..." It's also clear that Haru has his own adventuring stories to tell, if the sound of that diety was anything to go by.

The undead sphinx is a clear example of 'always learning something new'. The brown-haired Adventurer raises a hand to his chin to give the riddle proper thought, but the echoing crackling of electricity makes it clear what kind of plan is about to take place. Frowning in concentration, Curtana focuses a bit of energy through his shield. Not an Wave Arte but clearly magical in nature, the polished shield becomes a source of bright light. Charging forward, he moves to take a skeletal claw on the rim of his shield. Even without muscle, it almost makes the knight's knees buckle, but he gains his footing again at the last moment. "I'll keep it in place!"
June
Yamato - 3 - 3 - 0

June... just pulls out a notebook, cross indexes and answers the riddle out loud. "Now hand it over." she says waggling her fingers at the sphinx in a 'gimmie' motion. But then she is the foremost scribe in Yamoto... it's kind of like asking the biggest guy on the server to get you something off a midly tall shelf.

June takes the key when it is handed over she then heads to the gate and unlocks it. "Come on, no need to fight once you answer it, then you're just asking for trouble you don't need." she says her iron hooves clacking on the stone as she heads down the tunnel. When she gets to the tunnel end she spots the necromancer. "Damnit... you're not a cursed book!" she growls at the salamander. "Now... NOW I'm mad." she says snorting out a bigger cloud of green fog from her snout.
Haru
Yamato - 3 - 3 - 0

The advancement to the final room is greeted with consideration from Haru. He places a hand along the silver frame of his monocle as the purple lens lights up. "I'll handle the Summoning Circle," he lets the party know. Summoning and Enchanting, the two classes that make up the Artificer. It is near effortless for Haru to start summoning out a series of small elemental crystals around him that form as a shield and buff to his speed. Periodically he picks one of the enchantments off to place against the summoning circuit, disrupting a future 'add' as a counter mechanic to the boss fight.
Toshiro
Yamato - 3 - 3 - 0

Toshiro blinks toward June as she so simply solves the problem, a hint of confusion on his face. "...Seriously? I assumed the whole riddle thing was some sort of trick. That was all it took?" A hand slides under his hat to scratch at his head as she casually opens the door and allows them to continue through. All the while he kept an eye on that sphinx, expecting it to jump out at them the moment they stepped through the door. But alas, it seems his distrust was misplaced.

Then there was the final villain. Which was just...a woman in a cloak. "Sweetheart, after the shit you just put us through? You might be the least scary thing I've seen all day." As the skeletons start to rise, he shoots a quick glance toward Haru. "Very well. Then I'll see about weakening our friend here." He twists his blade in his fingers, eyes focusing intently on the final villain at the end of this whole mess of a crypt. Once the Wave Art was complete, the air around her seems to ripple like water for a few moments. The mystical power of The Ripple enters into her, impeding her body and ensuring she wouldn't be able to pull any necromatic regenerative nonsense. "Think you two bruisers can finish her off?"
Curtana
Yamato - 3 - 3 - 0

The assault against the undead sphinx goes well enough, and it seems like a drawn out battle is about to take place. But again, June does something unexpected and...answers the riddle like they didn't just pick a fight. "Uh...?" A split second of silence before the key is simply handed over, and with just a quick bow towards the sphinx, Curtana follows after the rest of his group. It's a quick apology, but maybe it might sooth hurt feelings.

It makes sense that a necromancer would make their home, either that or a lich were the most likely culprits. Haru already has a plan to stop the summoning of more undead minions, so it's best to leave that up to the expert. Wiping his hand down the length of his blade and reigniting the weapon, Curtana charges forward to close the distance with the necromancer. "If we don't, I owe you a drink, how about that?"
June
Yamato - 3 - 3 - 0

June rolls her neck and appears REALLY iritated and starts blowing green fog from her muzzle in big gouts, and then starting at the fingers, and ears, and presumably toes... grey stone starts to creep in along the Salamanders extremities, even the skeletons find themselves suffering the petrification debuff. And then June is charging in, fists swinging and horns thrashing. It really is something of a sight to behold the cowgirl going to town smashing things even as she billows out petrifying fog, the others keeping the adds down so she can vent her spleen on the necromancer, finaly leaving her standing and panting at the end of the boss fight.
Toshiro
Yamato - 3 - 3 - 0

Toshiro watches as the two warriors charge in and finish things off rather definitively. "...I suppose that means we're done here?" He pushes out a soft breath as he goes to slip his blades back into their resting place, freeing his hands to dust himself off. "Apart from that one exceptionally disgusting thing, I would say that wasn't too bad. Though I don't think I'll be taking any requests for dealing with zombies again any time soon." His tail gently sways from side to side, his gaze drfting between the pooka, the human and his fellow Were Fang. Granted one that was definitely...unique in her appearance. "I hope you're not too offended by this, Junebug, but I think I prefer you without the fur." His smile grows as he steps forward, regaining the smooth confidence he had before they entered this wretched place. "So is that it, then? We collect whatever we can from here and just head back to the guild?"
Curtana
Yamato - 3 - 3 - 0

The next few minutes are frantic and furious, flaming sword striking out against animated bone and necromancer magic. The green fumes coming from June's unusual form and the use of The Ripple from Toshiro add to the chaos of the fight, so it becomes nothing more than action and reaction. As the undead minions fall and the Salamander necromancer gives one last curse before they disappear, Curtana sheathes his weapon with a weary sigh. "Sorry your book wasn't here, June. Uh...did you work it all out of your system?"

The area seems to be clear for now, and the knight waves a hand to Toshiro now that the battle is over. "I don't blame you for that. Seeing the undead like this gives me nightmares, and that flesh blob is going to be in there, i'm sure." Now comes the best part of the job of an Adventurer, the collecting of loot. "Pretty much. A nice piece of loot and proof that shows what we did, and then head back. I'm guessing this was your first time with guild work?"

June shifts back and kicks you guys some of the bone that came from the skeletons. "Here take this, good crafting ingreedient, I've got loads." she says and runs her fingers through her hair then produces a beer from somewhere (her inventory likely) and starts to drink. Fight, get drunk, wake up somewhere that might have an occupied bed seems to be not something she was idly thinking about but a way of life.

Toshiro pinches his brows together as he leans down to pick up one of the bones. "...Oh. This is what we get? I was hoping for something a little more..." He's quiet for a beat, his smile growing a bit more amused. "Well, I suppose it was an easier quest." He examines the bone for a few moments before dismissing it with an idle shrug, the item vanishing into his inventory. "You might want to head someplace a bit less...dank to do your drinking. Wouldn't want to do any of your drunken wandering in a place like this."
Curtana

Curtana manages to grab the bone sent flying towards him with his free hand, then shoves it into his inventory after seeing what he got. "He has a point, you know. Let's get some fresh air and fresh drink to go with it." Stretching his arms and causing his armor to shake, the Pooka knight started to head back the way they came. "Who knows what kind of place you wake up if you go crazy in here?"

June laughs and takes another swallow "Honestly it will take me most of the walk back to the tavern to get drunk." She says "And the bad juju is lifted, for a time... these places attract undead and undead seekers like honey calls to bees." she says "But lets head back, you'll get some recognition and pocket change from the Hunters Guild, but this is worth more than what you'll get." she nods to the loot drops. "This is something that happens often enough that we just have to keep doing it to keep people safe, or we endup with shit like we've got up in Ninetails." she leads the way out.
