Finding a teacher

Gwen has contracted Haru a bit ago about wanting to talk about accessories. Gwen's been very good at fashion but the little things? She needs a teacher and wants to work out something with Haru about the matter. So here she is behind the counter, ir a french maid outfit today. She's whistling the super mario brothers theme of all things while she cleans the counter off during a lull.

Haru has always offered to make accessories for anything at Chain Mail Bikini. That is going to get more and more difficult as Haru assumes more responsibility within his Alliance. Gwen's request is met with naught but positive response. Truly this is something that would help bring any of the Pantd-- er Pendragon visions to the fore.

The Artificer is dressed in his town clothes, a navy jacket over a white button up and some DENIM jeans. It wouldn't be Japanese fashion without a stylish belt, so he has one of those, too. "Hi Gwen," he says as he enters and looks at the outfit. There is a pause. "Wait are you looking for Accessory Forging instruction or Cooking instruction, because I can't cook worth a damn." Unless its with a fireball. Steak, well done.

Gwen looks up to Haru as he enter and she stops cleaning.

"Oh I have cooking I do have the Maid sub job! It was Accessory forging I seek. I know your getting more and more busy lately so I was hoping you'd be willing to teach me how to make them myself. I can pay in cooked food and ... outfits if that's what it takes."

Haru lists his demands on a hand. "Outfits, yes. And some sweet cloth armor upgrades when you hit them, which I'm sure you will. Food. And," he thinks of something fun, "definately have to find a way to embarass Fuka. She is pretty shameless so I'll leave that creative journey to you." There is a grin. Though with all the outfits, modeling, and the great fishpunch incident of the year, it wouldn't take much to convince Haru to spend time explaining the great ways of Goldsmithing.

The Artificer rolls up to the counter and leans on it, being a tall bean, "I'd be happy to show you the basics. Now more than ever we need more people taking the craft up. Because," he taps his forehead. The whole Crown thing. "And you would probably find a way to make an outfit purely out of accessories. Like those harem dancer outfits." A short laugh, the young man standing up. "I'm one monocle shy of being the strict sensei trope, I'll warn ya." He points to his half-glasses. Sensei Haru of Goldsmithing 101 course.

Gwen gets a dark look on her face. "For Fuka will we need to get Morri in on it but we can do so if you wish."

She nods for a little bit. "Right we'll need as many people who ca handle it and ... well if we inter...."

Gwen beams at the idea ofd a harem dancer outfit what have you done Haru. "We may not need Morri after all and I won't lie I'd wear it too! Oh I understand it needs to be done right or it's not worth doing!"

Haru offers a candid laugh. He has figured out that scandalous clothing is the way to a good time with this place. There is a grin. Accessory Forging shall indeed grow in this category if he imparts what he knows to Gwen. "Thats the sort of commitment an accessory forger needs! An accessory is not just an afterthought! It can pull an outfit together. It can make a statement. It can draw the very heartstrings out and pluck them." Pluck pluck pluck. Though Haru's inspired speach comes with an eyebrow waggle, as the dark side includes less noble aims. "We will need to get you set up with a set of tools and some trial projects to start. Understanding the softer metals and gemstones. Rings and bands." The jingly bits.

Gwen pauses for a moment "Wait I may have a base foer what you are suggesing." She'll open her menu tap a button and he clothing changes to the rather infamous desert/harem girl outfit she wears sometime the townering woman ggrins. "Something based ont his for her? Correct it's imporant it can be the center pice on something like look at this for example."

She nods listening rather intent on this.

Haru looks at the outfit. Close. Closer. Nosebleed. Clean nosebleed. "Take that as the start. You can do even more with the accessories here such as chains and jewelry here," he makes a line up along the bust, "but notably here at the hips. So that when they sway they make a notable sound that draws to the other, more eye drawing sections." A look to Gwen, "You get the advantage of adding sound to something already visibly appealing. And if you are careful with enchantment, Dark magic to keep things 'decent'." He airquotes decent heavily as he is jumping well into the anime tropes of barely wearing anything. There is a tap to the ear jewelry, "Like this here is a good example of how it ties things together. If you add gems that match their eye or compliment them, it'll draw to that rather suggestive look." A finger twirls academically, "Or inspire decorum. It puts the authority on the owner to weild their fashion as a weapon."

Gwen grins at the reaction from Haru and she listend nodding "Yes, on all fronts impiving thes even further would be quite fun. Do not worry I am not my mother." She may very well be a clone of her mother and will die before she admits it. She wiggles a bit picturing the finished outfit in her head. "Yes keeping to the person's colours also is imporant too." She notes it seems she ant Haru are mostly speaking the same language.

Haru goes on to the goldsmith's version of color theory, "So the metals that will work a lot well for these kinds of outfits are warm toned. That would be copper, rosegold, and gold. Copper is easy to get ahold of and in a pinch bronze can work, though bronze evokes more martial thoughts. So it compliments similar armors." A hand presses on the counter as he leans in, "And each metal is its own encounter, Gwen. They speak in different riddles of how much pressure they can take before they bend. Before they break. Before they melt in your hands or glide right into place." Who is this man and what did he do to Haru? "Just like Linen, Cotton, Silk, and Denim, no doubt. To be an Accessory Crafter is to know these metals intimately. And that is not even counting the cool tones such as silver and platinum." Sensei Haru Nox is fired up. Accessory Crafting, ho!

Gwen has something out to take notes with as she's litening to Haro she is paying attention. "From the matterial ot it's colour this is just like colour theory for clothing itsel and they play off eachother between the outfit and the accessory!"

Haru snaps his fingers sharply. "Thats right, Gwen!" This comes all to naturally to the region's leading brand in fashion (and soon fashion accessories). "All that is left is putting the work in and getting to know the materials and the tools. I could talk all day about them, but practical experience will close the gap. Plus all accessory crafters, well artisans in generally I imagine, put a bit of themselves into their work. Nothing short of /your/ way of doing it will suffice to broaden the field." He taps his chest, "My method is a touch. Wishy washy? Romanticised? Dialed to 11? Yet firm like the core of the earth. Tian's is very mystical and yet sharp edged. Words don't do it justice. A good accessory says the story for you, but the thing accessory forging does that others such as weapon, armor, and tailoring do not? Its not /meant/ to be in the fore. Its meant to be a layer behind like this mastermind guiding the consumer along its journey. It is the map, not the boots that walk it."

Gwen grins even wider. "I'll make up a list of the basic tools and supplies I'll need for this as that? You sound like me when I'm going on about how I make clothing." Gwen is beaming also still in the harem outfit as she does this. She clasps her hand together eager. "So I should get started on the preps for this should I not?"

"There is no time like the present," Haru says, fired up, "here are the tools you'll need to grab." His hand slams down on the table and does the furious writing thing that creates a list of no short of a dozen different tools. A lapidary hammer. Chisel. A lens. Sanding and polishing equipment. Powders. Various cloths. Some of it is even alchemical in nature. "And to get you started, these raw materials," he starts on a second list. This one is more straightforward being precious metals and gems. "I will show you techniques and then assign you a theme for the design." Yamato's next top model. "Make it work, Gwen."

Gwen says "All right I'll contact you once I haver everything....just." As suddenly she realise the sorts of suggestions Morri would make. She turns red for a moment shakes her head out. She'll deal with that as she normally does, right? She still excited. "Well now I should get to work shoul;d I not Haru and lets also make something fun for ... Fuka, Shiruba and Uta!"
