The Tweest Sound

Jazuhanzu
Alne - Main Square

It's rare to find Jazz in Alne. Not that she's never here, of course, it's just that she seems to prefer to keep moving, never lingering in one place for too long. Harder to dwell on things that way, one might suppose.

At the moment, the maid/explorer/witch of the dark oceans is having a moment in front of the statue of the Burning One, a cup of tea neatly held between her hands from which she is occasionally sipping.

Practice makes perfect, and that is something that Pela has been doing a lot recently. Increasing her combat skills, increasing her other skills, and working on increasing her levels. As of earlier today, Pela has been working on her stealth tactics. In particularly, the ability to strike vital spots. She is doing this by... sneaking up on people and poking them from unexpected angles. For tickling purposes.
Mostly people she knows would probably be fine with it. Mostly. Such as Jazuhanzu, who Pela has been carefully and quietly stalking for the past five or ten minutes until she can get close enough... to move in slowly into touching range. And apply a poke right in the ticklish spot! Yes. Pela is causing mischief. No, she's not in a fey mood, why do you ask?
Miho
Alne - Main Square

Miho has been training just about as much as she forgest at the moment. Miho has not had much time to do much more than any of that. She'd eaven had a new outfit a breastplate she's forged herself. The rest though she's picked up from as tailor she'd not given the name out of yet. Either way she did really look the part of a lady Samurai. Though if anyone was a follower of Nintendo games there might be something they'd seen of this outfit before. She has no idea of the fate befalling Pela as she stops at a stall in the cold air to pick up a meal.

There sits Jazz, peacefully about to take a sip of her tea and then there is ... tickling.

Caught completely off guard and never fond of touching to begin with, she about jumps out of her skin, tghrows her tea cup in the air in surprise and then makes a sound that's so purely adorably twee that were Uta to hear it, she would never, ever *ever* live it down.

She probably won't live it down anyway.

Flying tea. Now that is something unacceptable. There were, rather sudden, graceful maid skills put into effect: Pela quickly dashes to catch the teacup, saucer, and then the tea itself in the cup, possibly using a quick bit of wind magic to help guide that tea where it belongs. She carefully holds the teacup up towards Jazuhanzu as if nothing happened and she /deifinitely/ wasn't the cause of the near-tea-based horrible accident. "...Hello, Jazuhanzu." Yep. She's innocent. She did nothing. Also there's a Miho nearby! Who looks like a Samurai. "...Cosplayer?" She muses out loud, looking over Miho quietly. Hmm! Yep. Just ignore the backstab practice. o/`
Uta
Alne - Main Square

"That was -amazing-, Pela," Uta comments with a huge smile -- wait, where did she come from? Has she always been here?! Sneakiy Spriggans. She fiddles with her phonograph, adjusting the needle on the shellac cylinder, and says, "I think I can tick 'most adorable squeal ever' off the list of the 'Sounds of Yamato' I am trying to record for the museum at the Conservatory." She looks up, tapping her lips. "Hmmm. Should we do it again, in case it didn't come out right? Just as a precaut- Oh, hey, hi, Jazz!"

Silence.

"Wait, was it you that squealed? That would explain- oh, hi Miho!" Silence. "Nice outfit." Another pause. "Nice outfit too, Jazz! I don't want you to be left out, of course."

Pela is completely ignored at this point. If she was trying to practice her sneaking... success!
Miho
Alne - Main Square

Miho looks over to Uta for a moment calling out. "Thanks, I figured fighting in something other than my smithing gear would be best, these have better stats too." She grins and takes a bite of her food. She does not see PEla there is no smolcat in the end.

"Also hello Jazz, didn't think I'd see you within ten klicks of this town." Here be Fashion after all.
Jazuhanzu
Alne - Main Square

"...no, Definitely not me. Must have been the wind," says Jazz, accepting her tea back from Pela with a wary eyeball. She has a sip, of course, then sits back down after carefully straightening her garments out. A glance towards Miho. She clears her throat once. Given the sound, it was definitely her that squealed.

"...yeah, not here too often," she admits. "..not anywhere too often, really."

Uta is looked at. Eyed. The phonograph is eyed. It must be destroyed.

"...Thank you, Uta. ...A maid cannot let messes happen before her." Pela responds, giving a small nod. Especially not to /tea/ of all things. "...Cannot do it again probably. ...Surprise has been lost." Pela adds. And then Uta is now focused on Miho and Jazuhanzu. Convenient! ... And Miho didn't even seem to notice her either. Hm. Her stealth skill wasn't even active, maybe this was just the 'small and easily overlooked' passive now. Hmmm.
The tea, somehow, is still more or less the perfect temperature and largely undisturbed in spite of the antics. Such are the powers of Maid. Mostly that she caught it before it could suffer any real durability damage though, because game mechanics. "...Yes. The wind. Absolutely." Pela agrees with an ever so slightly playful little smile. She then proceeds to curtsy. "...More practice needed. ...Have a good evening." And thus Pela is off to the next victi-- I mean practice partner.
Miho
Alne - Main Square

Miho nods once to Jazz and does not push the matter, she never even notices Pela was there or was she doing so to help her train? Who knows with Ninjas vs Samurai after all right? Strange she seem to wave at nothing. Okay she saw Pela at the end there.

"Just bet you'd rather traveling and exploring away from all us noisy people I bet too?"
Viviene
Alne - Main Square

Viviene can be seen jogging through city, passing by the gathering. It would be a typical sight if not for the tiny spriggan carrying what looks to be giant boulders strapped to her back with what looks to be like rope. Each of her steps is a loud thud, and sweat drips down her brow. She eventually spots the gathering and begins making her way closer, offering a wave. "Oh hey! How's it going?" she greets, the tiny spriggan hard to spot admist the giant stones

Jazz does not miss Pela's slinking away. She eyes her some more.

Jazuhanzu will remember that.

Still, Uta and the phonograph are glared at briefly. They too will have words. WORDS.

Now to Miho. ".. more or less, I suppose. The war makes that hard. BEen spending some time refining my abilities in that regard, I guess."
Miho
Alne - Main Square

Miho looks to Jaz as she takes a bite of her food again before she speaks.

"Yeah you never have struk me as a people person honestly. You give off a certain vibe what can I say?"
Jazuhanzu
Alne - Main Square

"It's the coat, isn't it," remarks Jazz to Miho. Her gaze now swings back to Viviene, giving her a polite inclination of the head. "Hello," she offers, since she was waved at.
Viviene
Alne - Main Square

Viviene upnods Jazu. "I do not think we have met." the small spriggan stretches her arms then undoes the rope, letting the boulders fall to the ground with thuds on each side of her, better presenting her form. A small, 4'11 spriggan with a purple and white kimono, with some sort of bodysuit beneath it. She bows. "I'm Viviene. A traveling swordsman and mercenary. Nice to meet you."
Jazuhanzu
Alne - Main Square

Jazuhanzu is, in fact, probably smaller than Vivienne. Tiny, adorable and twee. That's Jazuhanzu. And with her hair as purple as that Kimonoo.

She stares at Viviene for a long moment, then gives a nod. "Jazz," she offers after a moment. "...sea-witch, I guess," she says after a moment with a kind bone-weary resignation./
Viviene
Alne - Main Square

Viviene tilts her head. "You sound quite tired of such a title. Has living up to such been a challenge for you?" she inquires to Jazz. "Or is something else on your mind?"
Jazuhanzu
Alne - Main Square

"No, it's just how it is," explains Jazz, putting her hands together behind her head and staring up at the sky. "A class is a class is a class, even if I didn't really pick it when I got here. It's what I can do." She gestures vaguely in a circle, leaving a trail of shimmering water hovering in the air before her before tapping it so it freezes instantly. The ice donut, as that's what it looks like, hits the ground thereafter and shatters.
Viviene

Viviene chuckles. " I mean, if i were to go by class title I'd be a bladesinger". she shrugs. "Introduce yourself how you identify with. Class only means so much!"
Jazuhanzu
Alne - Main Square

"Eh, it's good for people to know, anyway," replies Jazz. her head turning way from Viviene now and regarding the stars and the statue interchanbly. She appears to be lost in thought, distracted and unfocused a moment. "Mhn."
Viviene
Alne - Main Square

Looking between the stars and the statue, Viviene tilts her head "Is theres something of interest between the stars and statue, or are your thoughts wandering?" she inquires curiously, seeking only to continue the conversation. "But if you want to be left to your thoughts, I can go find an Inn."
Jazuhanzu
Alne - Main Square

"Hm? No. I suppose I'm just thinking about the nature of divinities here," she remarsks, "If we're truly within a digital simulatiom of reality where the machines have access to our thoughts, then they could be AIs that are a creative facsimile of divinity. Or, you know, whatever. It's a thought that sits on me every now and then -- that our thoughts might not be private. That they might not be our own, even." She drums her fingers on her knee.
Viviene
Alne - Main Square

Viviene shrugs her shoulders. "Don't know about all that, as for thoughts not being private.. could make sense, given we linked our brains to a network." she noted Jazz. "But its stuff I often don't think about much, and I don't over think it much, there are Landers - AI out there that pass very much like a real person, and to me thats good enough to qualify them as one. The thought that something might be influencing our thoughts is certainly a scary one, and there is proof that such a thing is already possible, but its one of those 'what ifs' that is unhealthy to dwell upon out of driving ones self up the wall in paranoia." she said. "One could also say our experiences here in general are influncing our thoughts, effecting our habits. A lot is going on that one must adapt to."
