Goldenblade needs a new pair of shoes

Goldenblade has come into the shop, which promises impractical-seeming armor, though ironically, the merchandise seems mainly to be lighter armor. She can make her own chainmail quite well, in fact. But she's come about something else. She has also come in, found a place to sit down, possibly on the counter, and is removing one of her thick leather boots. Leather is something she doesn't normally work with.

"So it's like this," she explains. "I do a lot of walking. Almost as much as I did back in real life. Well, more than I did lately, I suppose. But when I was working, it was walking everywhere. Anyhow," she goes on, "it's the boots. My feet ache something awful after a few hours of walking, and I've walked these boots out anyhow." She reaches in, pulls out a rag, "And using a crumpled up cloth as an arch support wasn't helping a lot. It -did- help a little, which was why I did it. But I'm hoping you could build me some boots with actual arch support."

Gwen is in her rather interesting Heavyblade armor today, she looks like she just stepped off the cover of Heavy Metal to boot with it. Gwen listens behind the counter as Goldemblade makes her request. "Yeah cheap out on clothes if you have to but never your shoes. I think I can do something like that for you." Also oddly a lot of her clothing for sale is modest too, there are more crazy items but it seems Gwen does her most crazy work on custom orders. "I'd presume for combat and hiking right? So keep the heels low?"

Goldenblade huhs to Gwen about low heels. "Why wouldn't I want low heels?" she wonders. She doesn't think like a woman for obsvious reasons, so the idea of high-heeled boots never occured to her. "Low heels are important to catch in your stirrup," she explains why she doesn't want flats. "But high heels break easily. but yeah, combat and hiking is 95 percent of what I do in this game, so that'd be it." She considers, pulls out some coins as down payment, passes them over. "If they wear well, I'll buy an extra pair for backup."

Gwen grins "Given many of the default boots for ladies have high heels I often have to mod them depending on customer request." she tilts he head a bit at this. "Sounds like an good deal to me." She'll give a price it's more than standard boots but that's likely to the arch support.

"Do remeber to use the menu to equipthem as it will make them fit perfectly in terms of size."

Goldenblade ohs as Gwen reminds her these are boots for ladies. She forgets sometimes. She certainly doesn't think of herself as a woman, ironically, which probably makes her the polar opposite of most crossplayers. Well, as is known, she never intended to crossplay, it was accidental. But she rolls with it mostly. Anyhow, she's got her own list of issues. "Menu to equip ... what? How's that supposed to work, then? You're supposed to make boots that fit, right? Don't you measure my feet or something? That's what the shoe store fellow always did. And sighed about my arches. Even with socks on, they looked pretty bad, they'd say."

Gwen says "Oh it's something i needed to learn." She points to her wings. "Or I'd have to have slits and flaps in everything I made cause of these. As for that?"
% Gwen will do her best to walk Goldenblade though how to use it. "This can work well for drop gear and yes while I do it right it does help in the event of an error or things like tails and wings." She'll be pulling out a tape measure at this point.

Goldenblade will hold her feet out so Gwen can measure her feet. "I don't guess anyone's invented one of those shoe-size devices you step into? Those fascinated me as a child. All the sliding bits and marked lines. If your toe comes to here, or if the ball if your foot is here, and the width thing, which you read differently according to the size." Which is quite technical, when you're six. Maybe that'd be someone's tailoring strange mood? She will try to follow the mwnu-equipping process, admitting that, "I can see where with wings, you'd need to do that every time. It seems like a pain in the backside to me. But I guess to get the fit right, I can do it once, and then take them off and put them on normally. Part of the problem with the game is it's taking away people's humanity. Literally, of course, but when people stop acting like people, they ... well, they become like the Palace Landers."

Gwen says "I am afraid not and I don't have wood working or metal working. To even make the attempt myself. Now I have some neat things I can do with thse things! I have a poncho on me at all times." She grins as she'll keep working away on things. "Oh yes I have too much pride in my work to not do it right. I just noted I do often use it with dungeon and monster dropped gear. Also to be fair I can slow fall if I need to. Given some of the bosses we have had to fight I'm glad I had that.

"Yes, the rulers of The Palace Lands seem to be doing their harest to out do Mao or Pullpot." Gwen notes.

Goldenblade winces at Pol Pot. "Uh, what he did was awful. And the hippies were fine with that, that was their business and we shouldn't intervene." Well, the American /we/, as she's a transplant, Japan of course was neutral in all that. "Luckily, none of our nations seems to have had a pacifist constitution forced on them." She smirks at the irony. "Westelande is quite eager to send these invaders packing, and I'm doing what I can. Little though it seems. My projects are stalled, and what can I do? I guess all the workers and helpers I'd normally have went and joined various armies to fight?"

Gwen says "Yeah, we also need to one hunt down and destroy as many crowns as we can. Two? We will need to deal with those in the palace lands who did this. I get you there on that, it's nice to not deal with crushing levels of regulation here. As for that? I would suspect that or other jobs to work the war effort. I hear that we retaken The New World Alliance's city which only leaves Mac Anu to deal with."

Goldenblade nods about hunting crowns. "Mac Anu's going to be a tough nut to crack," she points out. "They split their forces between there and Shibuya, which is why I think they could take it, but not hold it. They also didn't count on our Landers supporting us rather than them. "But Mac Anu's got root town protections, so we'll have to infiltrate and undo what they've done before we can fight there."

Gwen says "Aye that's true and there's the guardians. Also their trickery which took control of the city as well. It's something to be concerned about. Yes we will figure it out and drive them from our shores. The worst part is most of their army are the very people we want to help..."

Goldenblade arches a brow about helping people. "I don't want to help a single Palace Lander, unless it's showing them the way to jump off a cliff. You kids care indiscriminately, you want to help everyone, even the people who mean you malice. Back in the day, we'd only help the people who at least gave lipservice to our ideals. But you kids want to help people screaming for your blood. I don't understand it." She sighs. "But it seems anymore like I'm the one that's out of touch. Even the politicians spout the 'help everyone' line, as if there's enough resources to help everyone. Meanwhile, the people doing us wrong are hard at work making more people that need help and hate us. We're not in a long-term survivable condition." But she's confusing world politics with game politics. With boots. "Sorry for going off. It's about boots, really. You have good boots, that's half your problems solved."

Gwen looks at Goldenblade. "... Woah hold up. I'm talking about the people who got crowned who had their will stripped from them. Most of the army here are the Palace Lander's mind slaves. Those are the ones I want to help. I want to hunt down the ones who ensalved them and /kill them/. They need to die, the crowns needs to be destroyed. I will get started on the boots, look I'm not some idiot city slicker? You got to put rabid dogs down. I'll get started on your first pair of boos."

Goldenblade nods to Gwen, agrees, "The ones behind the crowns need to get killed. Of the Crowned, the ones that don't want to attack us are fine. But there's a few, I think, that even with the Crowns off, don't like us. But I mean what I say. You kids are too busy trying to help people from another land when there's plenty of people in Yamato that need your help, too. I mean to help our own people before I go helping people trying to kill me. If they're mind-controlled or brainwashed, or whatever, I'll see them freed, but my duty is to our people before strangers. I only have so much help to give."
