Duty Session 504: Slime Machine

Gwen had been so busy with either her shop or producing things for the war effort. SO in a way this was a break for her to go check out this dungeon for the Hunter's guild. It could also be used to fund some of her other projects. So the towering woman was here clad in her old heavy blade armour wih a bit old grin on her face. She's seemingly not bothered by the cold as well. She'd also put out the call for some help. So she'd see who she'd get, the good news who ever did turn up was going to also get a cooked meal out of the towering Holy Knight...

Goldenblade has agreed to join the others on this mission. She generally joina any mission she can, she's not one for sitting idle. Also, cooked meals are good - she doesn't always allow herself the luxury. But if it's part of the offer, she won't decline. It's winter, and the weather's good and cold, but the layers of leather and mail are helped by a layer of flannel underwear and by FIRE, which is always there and never gives out. "Hey," she calls as she joins up with Gwen. "How's it going?"

Soujiro Seta is a man with purpose. A man with a warm smile and kind eyes. A man with not one, but two swords and three Cluck Clucks behind him. A man who is up for getting more training done in the form of a dungeon run. Currently he is wearing his red samurai plated armor. Here to help. Here to have fun. "Hi everyone," he says with a smile, one hand raised in greeting.

Gwen grins "Its going pretty good, it's a bit nippy but shall we get on inside right? She looks to Soujiro for a moment and bows slightly. "Didn't expect someone as as famour as honesly either of you to show up. Shall we get to it? Also when we're done I made a lunch."

With that Gwen will lead the small party onwards into the dungeon. Well as far as they can go , as it looks like there's a bunch of rocks in the way they are going to have to deal with here.

"Great, looks like we'll have to find a way though or be able to dig through... though mmmm."

Gwen will start to work on a spell to use a bit of earth magic to help move the blockage.

Goldenblade is famous? Well, she guesses she kind of is, in Westelande, at least. That's the badge she wears, marking her as someone of note in Weselande's military. She's not used to that sort of reaction from other players, though, and says to Gwen, "It's just me, we've adventured before. And you're at least as famouus, you on the main clothing store in the Isle of Beginnings. Though I wonder if you've thought of branching out into heavier armor?"

She will follow up until the rockfall, then its digging out. She's strong and tireless, though, and the rocks and debris are no match for the shovel she keeps in her inventory for such an emergency.

Soujiro Seta has encountered rocks! Rocks that need to not be there! It is an opportunity to train the good ole rock-slicing-with-katana moves. A quick draw and earth imbued slash rends several of the rocks into smaller portions. Thing that can be punched, kicked, or gingerly pick up and move them aside. "Even famous people like to go have fun," he informs about the attendance.

Gwen gets this confused look on her face as it looks like she'd never thought about her business that way.

"At some point, I'd also want to open some more outlets at least in Eas and my Paetrons city as well at some point." She notes as the group just bust thir wayu though the rocks it's done in short order as the trio get past the cave in.

A little time passes, Gwen seems warmer not being in the cold outside.

"Wait what is this..."

She looks at the mechanism and the watebefore the party. She'll sheath her weapon and get to work trying to move the dial with raw muscle power.

What does one do with one of those puzzle rooms? Brute force is one way, especially when it is good training. He is quite stronk so moving the dial around with Gwen is a lot easier. TRAINING.

Goldenblade smirks as she's given Gwen food for thought. "I'm considering relocating to Westelande, myself," she admits. "I'm only in Isle of Beginnings to synergize with Rylen's Peko Ranch, and I'm not really getting any synergy from it. Things never worked out as planned." She hrms as we get up to the puzzle, and it's a poser. "Hangon," she says. "I sometimes had to help out the plumbers when they needed to finish up and we were ahead on the brickwork. I know just a bit of plumbing..." But it seems to be enough to trick the mechanism into working.

Gwen says "Mmm you should do what's best for you but at this rate we're going to need to get the freaking chaos gates working agian somehow."

it does not take long the group's able to one move the broken machinery and two thanks to Goldenblade? Get the water all sorted out the exit opens shortly after and the party head onwards.

Slimes, are what they soon see. So many slimes all over the place, oil slimes to be exact.

"I wonder if we can light these things up? Or should we control them?"

"Light them up," Soujiro says. Lots of enemies are a great place for a combat focused Samurai to be. Both katanas are drawn out as he dashes in to engage with heavy, fluid strokes. Near or far, let no slime escape. Unless its a story based slime that presents itself as a main story arc and then he would probably not. These are not those slimes. These are more explode into pixels with xp and loot slimes.

Goldenblade peers at Gwen and mention of Chaos Gates. "What's a Chaos Gate, again?" she wonders. All the gaming slang means nothing to her. The gaming technical terms also don't mean much to her, most of the time. But she follows into the slimarium. and smirks. "Too bad we don't have Uta with us," she remarks. But there's nothing for it but to do it, so it's hack and slog through the slimes, both blades out as well, whirling around and stabbing slimy slimes left, right, and center until they're despawned.

Gwen thinks for a moment "Ever see the movie Star Gate? Kinda of like the gates they were a big thing in Fragment and even SAO."
She notes and she frownss

"Yeah she could have wrangled those things in no time." She just will end up cutting them down as she has to along the way. Finally the slimes are cleared out allowing the party to go deeper to the next room.

"... A puzzel room and here I am without Meg around to just blow this nonsense up."

It's a puzzel room of some sort, there are a network of paths, thing written on hte wall, and worse there seem to be a need for using magic to figure things out.

"Well we might as well get to this...."

She does havce an idea as she'll start putting her air magic to work on some of the puzzels.

Goldenblade nods about the Gates. "I ... that was a pretty old movie, though. I vaguely remember it. They did a TV series, too, didn't they?" Now she's thinking back to TV in the 90's. But then they move forward into a puzzle room, and she looks around cluelessly. Finally, after taking a look at our situation, she huffs, and she puffs, and she .... well, she's not a big bad wolf. She does manage to trick the windmills in the maze, so that she can get through OK.

Soujiro Seta would also appreciate exploding magic at this point! Mostly because to manipulate the puzzle involves using Air magic and he isn't much of a Wave Artes user. In fact he tries to summon out the Wind with slashes but doesn't quite get the timing right. Or on the right part of the puzzle.

Gwen says "It was a good one!" She grins even wider muttering something about L's in last names.

The group with their skills are able to get by the latest challenge with a lot of air magic use though Soujiro has a bit of issues with it. In the end they get past it but now are facing a new problem slimes and two of them the are strange really and it seem the party might be a bit out numbered from the looks of things. wait no it's just two but the pair are blocking the way Gwen attempt to use her magic to supress the things.

Goldenblade nods to Gwen, and as the tailor starts slinging magic, she will move in boldly and start attacking with her swords. The damage they take is miniscule, tnough, without the right sort of power channels into the slime to make it vulnerable.

Soujiro Seta engages with the pair of slimes, but it does seem like a lot for the small group that is here. The Samurai keeps things focused with defensive bursts from his Sword Artes. Temp HP and mitigation is good, which does chew through his mana pool. But no matter, he puts his all into it and seems to be enjoying himself despite the challenge.

Gwen has a very bad time of it as at least at one point the slimes engulf her entirely having to have her rescued by her friend the best eventually go down under the savage assaults from our three hours but in the end? It was a pretty hard fight which left Gwen a bit ruffled but as she wipes some of the last of the goo off.

Nothing is better after a great dungeon run than a meal with friends. Except even more training in Souji's case. "It was," Souji smiles warmly, "and that sounds delicious." Mmm. Food.

Goldenblade has a hard time with the slimes, since we don't have the right party composition, but we do, tired and worn down, finally get the win. Panting hard, now very trained, she smiles grimly. She's been slimed, too, and says, "I need a bath before a meal, I think."

Gwen says "Okay bath than food!" Gwen will turn about to head out hoping the others will follow her back to town.
