Lizard and the Hooman

Miho's doing some business at the Hunter's guild when she runs into Shenmi, what could go worng!

Miho has been busy latelyu as she's faceplanted down on a cable in the corner near the job board she's crashed face first. Her tail is stright up in the air and she's snoring lightly. The guild clerks are long used to Miho doing this to try and get a jump on any crafting requests she can do.

It is probably known among Yamato Adventurers that at first the Uncrowned were wary of the Hunters' Guild, due to its being a Lander organization. There were trust issues involved, for obvious reasons, not to mention the diminished opportunities for training available to the the Palace Landers that refused subjugation.

Over time, however, this has changed, and some Uncrowned have been seen questing together with Yamato Adventurers. Shenmi is one of the former, and is currently approaching the boards with his usual aplomb. Until, that is, he spots the Lizard. He discreetly walks over to, and leans over towards, a fellow Adventurer, even if there would have been a more convenient Lander where he started from, and asks, "...is that normal? Should we be worried?"

The Clerk laughs a little as she shakes her head. "No, she just does that. Miho's always trying to jump on the smithing related jobs before someone else can get them." Miho starts to show signs of life as her tail twitche and her long ponytail moves as she slowly rises up. "Ahhh morning already! Oh! wait did I miss the postings?"

"No not yes Miss Miho."

She then puses to look at Shenmi.

"... Morning, to you too who are you anway?"

"Shenmi Jinreng, Conjurer," the human begins, as he doffs his hat with a bow. "We have met in Mac Anu, once, and went on a quest in the Gorge of Death. Defeated a Manticore," he explains, as he straightens up. "I suppose you might want a few minutes to wake up properly? Have breakfast?" He offers, possibly with a hint of genuine concern under the well reharsed politeness. "It was... Miss Miho, if I am not mistaken, right?"

Miho is clearly is just waking up, she takes a moment squint and turns bright red. "Oh gods Shenmi! I'm so sorry I just woke up!" She recalls evything now. "Yes, Miho Mirthrilscale." She shake hr head a bit. "I should get something to eat and wake up a bit more. Hey at least I woke to good company." Also not in some strange room or a strange bed she didn't know. Not that something like that has happened to her.

"So what has you in this neck of the woods?"

"Quests, of course," Shenmi says, with a sweep of his arm around the Hunters' Guild Hall. "Street performance is not the most remunerative of activities, so one has to round up one's not exactly stellar income by carrying out quests." A short pause, and one corner of his mouth curls up in a smirk. "In any case, going on Hunter Guild quests is also good training. One can have a pretty good idea of the difficulty of the task in advance, which is more than one can say for venturing out alone in unknown areas. Not something to be underestimated when respawn is... well... not an option."

Miho says "Well true but it's still good enterainment. Though you make a point your at the mercy of people tipping you for street shows. Aye keeping monsters under control is a generally good thing." She nods frowning at that. "I can't even begin to understand the hell you have been through..."

"Frankly, other people have had it harder," Shenmi begins with a sigh. "In Kallamore, if you know what you're doing, dump enough money into the entertainment business, and stay out of anything else, you're left alone enough. Sure, they will watch your every step and cut you out of most activities, especially the ones that let you level up, but it is not as bad as in other places like Thor or Rosenheim." He shifts his eyes left and right, in some lingering instinct of paranoia.

He removes his hat, and with a nonchalant gesture, he extends it towards Miho, conversationally. "You seem to have it pretty good here in Yamato I have to say." A short pause. "Or, well, -have had-. Then our Landers have spilled over and managed to mess this place up as well," he grubmbles, looking down.

He returns to look up, and adds, "I would apologize for their behaviour, but, hey, I have nothing to do with them. If it were for me..."

He leaves that sentence to linger.

Miho says "Ah I see, and I heard stoies about the other two. Yes, the worst part is most of the army are mind slaves. Every time we take one out we hurt them more. I want to get my hands on the leaders of these nations and those that did it. Yes, I don't think the Palace Landers understand the bile that's flaring up in the Yamato Adventurers. Old bad blood runs deep, thousnads of years of it." Given what Miho was planning till someone got her to /stop/ and think might have caused generations of starvation in the Palace lands.

"I think it's best if we focus on the Landers specifically, as per your suggestion." comments Shenmi. "They are the ones who got us in this mess, and likewise, probably the ones that can get us out of it. If we know how to play our cards right." He furrows his brow a little. "What was that? Is removing crowns an increasingly painful process? How... does that whole thing work?", he asks, gesturing.

Miho says "Fraid I don't know, I just let them use my forge to do work. When a mood hits it's best to keep the people clothed, fed, cleaned and the like." She looks sheepish at this but she really doesn't seem to know the details of how it works only that it does. "So you seem to be settling in with Yamato at this point?"
Shenmi

Shenmi gives a little shrug. "What else is there to do? Back home, it's everything under the control of deranged, murderous Landers. Besides, the way out of the game seems to be here," and as he says this, he gestures in the general direction of the Aincrad Tower. "I understand that the people in Shibuya might feel differently, but given what I've been through, well..."

Pause. Silence. A sigh, "...the sooner we unlock the way home, the happier I'll be."

Miho sighs "A future of making nothing but kitchen knives awaits me if I go back." That's all she's got to say about that topic. She seems to go quiet now as she lost thinking on something she clearly not going to push against Shenmi's desires to get the hell out.
