Training is Metal As

Soujiro Seta has flooded the forge with a fock of frill and force. Does Soujiro know how to work metal? No. Does he know how to hold a hammer? Yes. One in each hand. He looks more like a drummer banging on metal with his shirt off while the group watches him in some sort of heavy metal concert. The only thing that is missing is Schneider or, y'know, people with Song.

Chikako Douji isn't much of a singer, but she can at least carry a tune in a bucket. What she's good at in the forge, at least, is fetching and carrying. Pulling blanks of soon-to-be-more-interesting metal in and out of the fires. Bringing drinks to keep the smiths hydrated.

    That, and hitting things very hard with a hammer, when needed. After watching for a while she insisted on being allowed to hit something, so they handed her a hammer and showed her the rhythm needed and cut her loose. Now she gets to pound things!

Yes! Yes! Metal banging mini game. Souji finds ways to enjoy Elder Tales even when the task is, 'Hey, can you flatten this into metal sheets'. Yes, yes he can. Two at a time. No. FOUR at a time. Two in front of him, two behind him. "I get why crafters love crafting so much now," he says as he brings the fury of dem swol arms down on the sheets and with a no-effort-wasted turn goes to hammer out another panel. "Its a new kind of training. Bring more! Go for the high score!" Thicker metal. Harder metal. He will push it to the max! Plus the whole thing gets a sparkle smile towards Chikako when she joins in. Sparkles or sweat. Possibly both. BANG!

"Of course!" the Oni agrees. "It's a perfect excuse to hit things!" She grins and bangs on some red-hot metal some more. "I mean, it's not as good as hitting monsters and making them go 'pop', but still!"

And there is sparkly bishonen! Definitely time to appreciate the eye candy. And, y'know, the hitting stuff. BANG!

Everyone visiting the forge migth have missed something as out of the back comes a hulking dog. If someone did the old spinner's deep it's clearly one of the miner dogs from it. It looks at everyone with confusion and give a rther big woof. Which gets attention of one tiny little smith.

"What's going on out thereI didn't think I'd have anyone here today..."

Soujiro Seta doesn't even hide it, a warrior going all out on the metal and sparkling all the way. It is like one of those filler episodes commited to fanservice. "Not as good as hitting monsters," Souji agrees as he kerBLAMs a metal sheet, "but if these were those machina monsters?" Fire in his eyes he goes all omnislash hammertown on eight sheets of metal. Sweat drips from his brow as he looks to the source of the borking. "Miho! I wanted to get training in and there was a request to provide metalworked materials to the Palace lands," shirtless Souji says, "Do you want to help us shape metal?" He looks at a third hammer as if considering if he could wield it in his mouth. Adventurers can do amazing things.

Chikako grins. "Oh, is that what we're doing?" she asks. "I thought it was just random strength training." Liar. "Good excercise, this." She grins a bit wider as she continues pouding on the red-hot metal placed before her.

After a few minutes of this, she takes a break for some water, pouring most of a canteen's worth down her throat while a bit spills over her cheeks and down her shoulders. Then she just dumps the last cupful over the top of her head, adjusts her horned headband, and steps over to the well to refill the canteen.

Miho says "Oh yes Then please do so and i'll be happy to. i can show you a few tricks I have." She's now sounding smug, what is she up to now? She'll start going to collect some gear. "It works for both honestly. Just let me get a few things and I'll join in." The dog also gets a pet from miho, who then curls up at one end of the forge to watch the people do their thing.

Random strength training is good. BANG! Soujiro brings down the force of a hammer on the metal so hard that it destroys the remaining durability of the shaping hammer. "Can you get me another hammer, Miho?" he asks, hungry for more metal annihilation. Now with only one hammer instead of two. It is different from when they forged his katana though he couldn't say exactly how. "Great exercise and training," he agrees with a bang as if more cowbell needed to be applied to the forge.

Chikako chuckles lightly as she sees Seta's hammer sparkle into nonexistence. "Always happy to learn a new trick or two," the Oni says, still grinning. "And to stick a thumb in the eye of those jerk-offs with the stupid hats." She's always happy to stick it to the Palace Landers.

Miho will toss Souji an hammer as she's all kited out now as she grins to the onni. As this start what appear to be molten tattoos come to life seeming like metal and Miho starts to shape some of the metal with her bare hands like it was putty.

Soujiro Seta takes the time to stop hammering the metal and watch Miho work with her bare hands. "Thats impressive. You can shape metal with your bare hands?" Forget hammering machina, that could melt them. Critical hit! "Is there a technique behind it?" Eternal training.

Chikako has to pause to stare. She'll admit it. Shaping hot metal with bare hands? That's dang cool. The lack of sound from her hammer is the first pause from her side of the smithy in hours. "Wait, what?" she asks. She blinks. Sets down her hammer and walks over to watch Miho more closely. "Really?"

Miho shakes her head as she works "Sorry it's a relic I found a bit before we ended up here in the flesh. Could try to find another I know A few others have it too." She grins a bit and keeps shaping the metal. "Don't try this at home kids."
