Gimme Fuel, Gimme Fire

A 'safe' distance away from Shibuya proper, Haru is working on new wave Artes judging from the scorch marks. He calls on a much needed break from friendos as the topic of what drives/motivates Adventurers after two+ years in Elder Tales. (Open Social, Theme: Character Motivations).

Haru
Shibuya

Haru has been working himself to the bone in the training 'zone' outside of Shibuya. Classic Haru to not find moderation. He might have more chill if he gave it room to rest. It is promising that he chimmed out to Gwen, Uta, Elly, Curt, and several others in his core 'support' network that he is taking a break and company is welcome. That right there is a step in the right direction. The Haru a year ago wouldn't reach out at all. He would grumble emo as possible like an edgelord.

Still Emo. Still Edgelord. Less so.

"Rachel," he is arguing with his fire summon, "can you, just," a hand goes to the silver haired man's brow. Deep breath. "Can you not? There is nothing I can do to help with your insecurities. No words. No actions." KAW! The proud bird of fire flaps her wings at Haru. It flies straight up into the sky, over towards the sun, and disappears. Though. An elemental is a blank slate and a controlled monster is will imposed on a monster. At a fundamental level Haru is arguing with himself. His anxieties. His insecurities. The summon brings it out in ways he struggles with. He exhales, sitting down in a chair and letting his head and neck go slack against the back, looking up at the sky. "Not even in a Weird Mood and I feel tapped out." He checks his status bar just in case for the debuffs. Not there. Phew.
Gwen
Shibuya

Gwen had found her in shiruba lately conspiring with the big crafter guild in the NWA about her beach plan. It was going to be a great party she just wanted to make people happy and have a good time. Also take advantae of just how good everyone's avatars looked. Or at this case their bodies and she would look over to Haru. "Brought you some food!" She grins and wait she's wearing her Ashes Nei cosplay today as she passes the platter of food off. Looks to be mostly western style bbq.
Daiyu
Shibuya

It would seem Elly is still occupied with finishing up her 'world tour' of getting orphanages established under a unified management. But that does not mean she did not see the message. Just that she sent someone else in her stead. To with a certain fox woman strides in, somewhat relieved to find Haru is in the training area and not within the town proper. She's not entirely sure how they would react to her actually entering. Sometimes grudges remain, no matter how much one proves themselves otherwise.

Regardless Daiyu walks up, and executes an proper formal bow to those already gathered. "Lady Elly sends her regards, and apologies for not being able to come in person yet, but she is completing matters with the orphanages." Besides, she's also an enchanter and alchemist, she might have to converse with Haru than Elly herself would? Maybe that's an idea in the first place. Maybe that's the plan all along.

"Food is exactly what I need," Haru says as he hears Gwen but does not see her yet. He is at the stage where his head is looking upwards and it requires a Summon of energy to move it. Such is the state of a tortured bish. Prison of his own making. With good food. He leans over his hand to grope for the food, ending up inappropriately grabbing Gwen instead. He shoots to a sitting up position, "Aha, thanks Gwen," he passes it off, not as blushy as Curtana gets, but it was still a social faux pas. Noms on food.

Monch monch. Monching while the fox arrives. Must masticate with proper amounts of monch, as is Haru's regal upbringing. It leads to an awkward silence until he swallows. "She is a busy woman," the Artificer says, understandingly, "and her work is legendary across the lands. Although the sympathy is appreciated, no apology is necessary." He takes a moment to appraise Daiyu. "The same goes for you, Daiyu, you need not be a stranger in Shibuya. Atelier Nox would benefit your perspective." Which is to say, his shop. Its there. The Crown Breaker line of accessories may be a bit on the nose for a former Crowned though.
Daiyu
Shibuya

Daiyu composed demeanor doesn't show it much, but there's a perceptable relaxing when she's greeted without harshness. It's probably the tails, not twitching so much. They tend to be a bit more expressive than the hulijing herself. "If I can be of an assistance in the ways of alchemy or enchantment you need only ask. Though some of your capacity has already well exceeded my own. I hope the caustic smoke bombs have served you well at least. You are the first I shared that innovation with."

Then her attention turns to his summon for a moment. Tilts her head to the side. "Interesting...." Then gives a light shake. "Alas, the art of summons is something I am much less versed in."
Gwen
Shibuya

Gwen didn't expect Daiyu to show up but she's a bit distracted as she delivers the meal to Haru. She grins a littlebit at him and she tiols her head for a moment to Daiyu.

"Hello Daiyu!"" She grins a little bit and will start to look about the shop a bit. "Do you want me to deliver you dinner later too Haru? Also would you like something Daiyu?"
Haru
Shibuya

"Yes, Gwen. That would be appreciated," Haru takes Gwen up on the offer for food. He lacks the cooking skill and attributes his quality of food life to having his shop next to Pela's. Sweet tooth: appeased.

A gaze goes upwards as Daiyu mentions the art of summoning. The last wisp of Rachel's existance fades well into the sun. "I appreciate the trust in sharing the innovation with me. There is a lot to be gained by free trade of ideas when it comes to Enchanting. Much of it can apply to everyday life, such as the stained glass effects for Elly's wedding," he pontificates, tha naturals state of Haruism. The gaze settles back down to the fox. One blue eye. One purple monocle, lined with silver. "I think it would be good for you to see the people who bear the fruit of your labor. Would you believe me if I said your technique was recently used for farming? Help with pesticides. Useful on the big and invasive bugs here, let alone consider its microscopic levels." He hums, contemplative, "My niche is more along artisinal and accessory based enchanting. I appreciate the compliment all the same. My current working theories are around liquid enchantment, so there is a fair amount of crossover there with your alchemical use of it. I'll be reaching out to compare notes for sure."
Daiyu
Shibuya

"I do not -need- anything, Gwen. But I understand it is impolite to turn down such an offer." Most of Daiyu's attention is on Haru's explaination of what else he has done. "Honestly? It pleases me muchly. Much innovation to be found in taking something from the field of combat to create domestic uses for it." She nods to the comparison of notes. "Knowledge is meant to be shared. And I understand liquid can be awkward to work with outside of alchemics and the water element. Mostly due to it ..." She pauses to consider phrasing. "Lacking a regulated form outside of a container."
Gwen
Shibuya

Gwen says "I'll be happy to I even have some of Hifumi's instant noodles too." She will also give Daiyu some Western BBQ as well with a grin on hwr face. "I love how the inventory keeps it fresh."
Haru
Shibuya

A regulated form outside of a container. Someone out there a Morri got an idea. "Liquid is a difficult substance to enchant," Haru agrees to carefully navigate that phrase, "due to its... natural properties, yes. Gas as well." Know what this conversation needs? A new topic. "What got you into Enchanting and Alchemy, Daiyu?" A look over to Gwen, "And Tailoring with yourself, Gwen. As I understand, there is quite a tale in that journey." An /Elder/ Tale.
Daiyu
Shibuya

"Someone had to embue the abilities in Shenmi's props," Daiyu replies with a faint smirk. Though it quickly fades. "And they made me quite valuable for what equates to sabotage in this world when it came to... undermining others." A quick shake of her head. "Which is part of why I am pleased others are finding more practical uses for what I once created as a weapon attempting to offset the adaptation your people had made. Like the mines." She's still not entirely sure how that one was pulled off, but that is why it was such an effective bait for her 'rescue'.
Gwen
Shibuya

Gwen pauses "Wait are you suggesting a liquid that can form into an outfit when splashed on someone?!" Oh lord where did Gwen get that idea what could happen with such madness. Gwen pauses. "Oh Daiyu, if i recalled you called me a fashionless savage while you were a mind slave...I am the est tailor in Yamato so far as I know." Oh she may drag DAiyu of later to the tender clutches of Morri ...
Daiyu
Shibuya

Daiyu holds a finger up to Gwen. "Do not hold me accountable for things said when I was not truly myself. Or even knew who you are and your capacity of crafting arts." Simple enough.
Haru
Shibuya

Haru considers Gwen's bodypaint request. "Technically, yes. The enchanted liquids Im working on are like magical paint or tattoos. Im no bodypaint expert, but that or liquid suits would be possible." Would they provide any defense? That is a question for the fantasy rpg logics. Probably it has the highest armor in the game.
Gwen
Shibuya

Gwen looks oveR to Haru and ponder "You make a good point about that but if they could grant something like a magical effect? Still that could be something to look into for emergacy clothing!" She looks to Daiyu for a moment. "You make a good point and we should perhaps work on something together then we could teach eachother a lot I bet."
Haru
Shibuya

Haru makes a fingergun point to the sky for point 1. Then another for point 2. "All the points being made today," the Artificer says with a smile on his face. Haru smiles are this muted, haunted affair. Not unpleasant but altogether mild, like moonlight instead of energetic or warm. "Thats true, we could. Probably would do well for things like a diving suit, too, or heat protection on volcanic regions." Lots of applications.
Daiyu
Shibuya

Daiyu tilts her head at Gwen. Gestures at her qipao kimono. "I could easily aquire you examples of what would be considered the styles of the Palace Lands, if you desired."
Gwen
Shibuya

Gwen says "A diving suit could be a very good application or enviormntal hazard yes." She seems to be liking where this is going. "We should look into that further and that would be wonderful I can return in kind as well!"
Daiyu
Shibuya

Daiyu pauses to consider for a few moments. "While I am here, I could ask for some advice of my own, Haru." She holds up one of her arms, showing the long yet elegant gloves she wears. "As an enchanter and accesory crafter you know the kind of intricate, delicate and often not entirely comfortable actions that go into such pursuits. It is much the same for lockpicking and long ventures of scripture writing. So I am considering enchanting a pair of handware like these to better comfort and support the hand and wrist in doing so." She lowered her arm back to her side. "Would also probably help with the activation of such enchantments in combat to assist ones precision."
Haru
Shibuya

Haru runs a finger along the silver lining of his purple monocle. The eyewear flicks to life with thin white semicircles rotating around a central point. Somewhere behind that lens is an eye that is reading off the appraisal information of the glove itself. "An enchant make to keep the hands still and precise," the Artificer asks as the lines disappear in an instant. "Yes, I can help you with that. I won't speak for her," he says as a hand gestures to Gwen, "but Gwen's assistance would also be valuable there for working with the cloth. If you have the elemental combination considered, excellent, otherwise I recommend use of Dark in gloves like that to hold gravitational variance. Air being another one for the delicate strokes involved in Enchantment, Scripture, and," he considers tact, "physical security countermeasures."
Daiyu
Shibuya

Daiyu laughs softly at Haru's phrasing of certain legerdemain skills to be more publicly friendly. "Excellent suggestions." She gives a brief nod towards Gwen. "And yes, to ensure the items fit properly and comfortable. Otherwise it would defeat the point."
Gwen
Shibuya

Gwen thinks for a moment longer. "I'd be happy to help with any project that needed my skills in some fashion." She looks to Daiyu and back to Haru.

"Might need to find someone for the physical security stuff might want to hit up Kaydon or Shiruba for that."
Haru
Shibuya

Haru motions to Daiyu when the physical security is involved, "I think the three of us will be a good base for the designwork. Ultimately this is Daiyu's item, we are just subject matter experts and contractors slash friendos helping. I enjoy working on enchanting projects, so long as you source the materials and are mindful to my schedule." It. Gets. Busy.
