An Elf and a Horse

Erufu has long ago got her Inn back in working order once the city had been retaken and it's become an fairly decently off spot again. Tonight she's waiting tables but things are slowing down, so she's cleaning empty tables at the moment...

Slow business? Heaven forbid. But you know what picks up any dull bar scene? Music!

... And fortunately not having to endure someone's terrible attempt at karoke, this time. Not when your inn is abruptly graced by one of the most (in)famous Bards in Yamato, already singing what sounds like an attempt at 80s synth, using a little lightning magic to try and make the reverbing effect.

Granted, how else would you expect Kauchemar to make her entrance more extravegant than it really ever needs to be.

Erufu looks up to see a horse has wandered into hwe Inn she's not about to chase he out after all. She muses "I really should have a stage installed here." She muses then she brams. "What can I get you Kauchemar?"

Kauchemar pause. Looks one way. Then the other way. Then holds up her hands, thumb and finger of each at a right angle to make a frame as if lining up some manner of device. "You'd have to put it off to the side, but that'd be enough room for basic performances." She shrugs, and saunters over to drop herself in a seat. "I honestly don't really care, as long as it's strong. I've gotten so use to these long Messenger treks its actually a bit hard to put myself to sleep without a bit of liquid help some days."

Erufu humms "I know just the thing then if you need something, our slayer special then!" She'll trot off and return a few moments later with said drink and will set it down on the table. "So you'll want a room for the night then as well I take it?"

Kauchemar raises a brow briefly. "Considering bars often name drinks after famous people I guess I shouldn't be surprised should I?" After which she chuckles. "If you've got a spot to spare. Don't want to put one of your trade partners or such out on the street." She picks up the glass, takes a brief sniff, and then a long proper drink. "... Yeah, that'll do it nicely."

Erufu smirks for a moment "Well Orbalg deserves more credit than he get with what he does, not to memtion what he risks every time he goes out. So any food or just the drink and the room i would suspect you need?"

Kauchemar shakes her head. "Food can wait until breakfast. I've just spent enough time on the road to need a hard drink and a crash for the night. Nightmare or not even I can't keep going several nights in a row without sleep... Well, unless it's one of those obsessive moods."

Erufu says "Speaking of moods I ... have had some thoughts about song and I fear I may be heading that way." She tilts her head a little bit. "Still I'll not keep you from your rest I'll speak to you on the morning on it?"

"No, no, this could be interesting." Kauchemar folds her hands together. "I had it happen by creating a song that never existed before, for the birth of a new nation... And don't think you're going to be ready for it just because you know you're heading that way. You won't be. Your entire perception changes on the matter for the time."

Erufu says "I know I'm not ready no one ever is for it but I keep thinking about there's no central place for archiving music, instruments or a place to train new bards, Yamato Needs such a place to build on what I started with a song of heroes..."

Kauchemar takes another swig of her drink. "Well, you're partially right. Uta has her project with the phonographs. That's technically an archive. Though not so readily accessed until the devices can be more easily produced." She sets the partially empty glass down, and leans on her elbow thoughtfully. "But no, there's no 'school' for Bards that I'm aware of, at least not for the advanced things us Adventurers can do. Most Bards learn on their own, or via apprenticeships."

Erufu says "We shall talk in the morning I have to think on this but i best set things down before I get obessive as Orcbalg again..." She wonders is the man in a mood to destroy all goblins, she thinks about the factory on the moon. If they could destroy it maybe it would stop the goblins... "With that in mind I bid you good evening it's getting late and I should get ready to close!" With a grin and a wave the elf is back to work. "Oh yes room 5 is yours."
