A Night In Shibuya

It's a lovely summer afternoon in Shibuya! Having returned from a venture to the Isle of the Terraformers a few days ago, Miyako is still relaxing in what has become her hometown. She's just finished a music set, singing for her lunch as she often does, and settled down to actually enjoy the meal. Perfect time to walk up and say hi!

Yeowang has taken a pause from her organizational duties in Shibuya to have lunch, and just enjoyed the music set thst Miyako provided, offering soft applause as she returns to her meal. She has a small valise packed with papers at her side, and two or three pages on the table, and she appears to be comparing figures in between bites of her food. But when the music end finally, an idea occurs to her, and she'll put down her plans and go over to speak with Miyako.

"A wonderful performance," she says. "Have you considered recording your music? I believe Uta has a way to record sounds."

Miho has actually taken a break for once and she would be enjoying the summer night, evne more so? She's in a new outfit wait is that a Laura Coft outfit? Yes, yes it is. Her tail is moving slowly a sign of a good mood as she'll find a place to sit down with a meal of her own and grins. "Yeah the Green Dragon's a pretty great place. I like to stop in when I'm in town myself."

Thalia does not do fancy things like 'plan' or 'have a job'. She is, after all, a shiftless layabout who gets by with her skills with swords and being exceptionally cute.

It's worked so far!

She's a little less polite than the others. She doesn't just go to talk to Miyako, she plops down at her table. She is, at least, carrying two drinks and slides one to the other Spriggan.

"You're real good at that. I'm a little jealous! Have a drink on me."

    Miyako nods, saying "Thanks" to Yeowang as her food is delivered to the table. "But she hasn't mentioned any of that to me, yet. Guess I need to talk to her about it." Miho gets a nod from her as well. "Yeah, it's not like I can cook for myself, without the game letting me," she grumps. Then she reaches out for the drink Thalia delivered and takes a sip. "Thanks, Ta-chan," she says, and then mutters, "I'd kill for a Coke...."

Yeowang admits, "I generally drink tea, so I suppose I'm fortunate." Tea is a thing they'd always had in game. She nods to Miyako about the recording devices and admits, "I'm afraid I'd never cooked before in my life. One of my friends from school was an excellent cook, her mother had a cooking show on TV, but I'd never cooked for myself. So I guess nothing's changed."

Miho looks over to Thalia for a moment grinning a bit and then looks to the others. "Mind if I join you?" She grins and pauses. "Also are any of you in the market for any weaponry or anything else you'd need a smith for?"

There was an empty chair next to Miyako.

The key word being 'was.'

One minute it's empty...

Next thing you know there's another Spriggan sitting next to her!

"Sorry I'm late," Kotono says as she receives her food with the others. "I made sure to call ahead, but I had some things to do." She grins. "Such is the life of a Spriggan ninja!"

"I ... Am not much of a cook out of game. I ... I don't want to talk about it," she says. Her expression is weirdly ashamed for a moment before she moves on. Miho gets her attention, and she brightens immediately. "Uh, maybe! I'm considering farming materials to have something really cool made, but I don't have a lot right now," she says.

Kotono's sudden appearance makes her jump. She shouldn't be surprised, but yet she is. "And teleporting into an empty seat is part of that life, right?"

    Miyako nods, grinning, and puts an arm around Kotono. She looks over at Thalia, and to the comment about teleporting, replies, grinning, "Neeeeenja."

    Fortunately, her food is relatively simple and easy to eat one-handed. "The fans I've got are working out so far. Might go for a new sword or something," she answers Miho. "Don't know."

Yeowang shakes her head to Miho with regret. "No armor or weapons for me, sorry." She blinks as Kotono suddenly appears, but that's what ninjas do. Appearring suddenly. Thalia gets a sympathetic look for not cooking out of game. "There's just not time for that with everything else." She smiles to Miyako and returns to her own food as well.

"You might say that," Kotono answers with a grin, before giving an affectionate look at Miyako. "Of course, enjoying a good meal with friends is great too." With that, Kotono gets to work on her food.

Miho says "Well you can hit me up when you have the materials for what you want to make and I'll see what i can do. Fair Yeowang but you know I do more than gear right? Kitchen Knives, nails all sorts of things." She looks over to Kotono grining. "Ninja the natural foe of the Samurai. Coke? Meh living in America for a bit killed me on soft drinks. They don't use sugar they use some nasty corn based thing in it." She makes a face.

"I'll keep you in mind!" Thalis replies to Miho. She idly paws through her inventory, grousing a little at how light it is. "I need more elemental crystals and metal." That just means more quests and things.

"Oh yeah, what is it? High fructose corn syrup. Just reading about it was gross!"

    "Nah, Ta-chan, -real- Coke was made with sugar. No corn syrup." She grins and leans into Kotono a bit. "You could get it if you knew where to look." She sighs. "Not that we're likely to see it here anytime soon."

Yeowang nods about enjoying a good meal with friends. She nods to Miho, and says, "I think my department store will absolutely stock those things, but I'm going to have to build it first, there's no current building that can house anything like it. So that'll be the first part." She nods to Thalia about the elemental crystals and such. "I've got a few of those, too. They accumulate with missions," she agrees. She can only shrug about cola. She was not a cola person.

"Corn syrup? Yuk!" Kotono says, grinning as Miyako leans into her. "I prefer the real stuff myself. Of course, a good seltzer is always nice too." She shrugs a little. "At least the food here is tasty."

Miho grins again. "I am the best weapon smith in Yamato that I'm aware of. Well mortal one at least." She smirks a bit mortal in the sense she does not have cosmic power. Her tail swishes again.

"Nasty stuff, though American BBQ? That is very good and worth trying. There's all sort os neat food from there but yeah i just lost it on soda."

"I've ... never been. I never really had the chance to travel. My parents work a lot. Didn't really have time for it." Thalia looks a little down for a second before she shakes her head and forces it away. That is not her. That pain is not her. She is Thalia, a cute and strong adventurer with no problems beyond the monsters in this game.

"I should get better at sewing. ... Maybe Gwen will take me on as an apprentice." Yeah, she just changed the subject.

    Miyako nods and hmms softly. "Yeah, there's a few folks as have barbecue figured out here. I think they're in Alnus these days." She hmms softly. "Damn I miss it... crispy fried chicken drenched in barbecue sauce, on a toasted sub roll with blue cheese, lettuce, onions, and cheddar... mmmm...."

    She pauses and looks over to Thalia, then nods and reaches over to pull her close, like she did with Kotono. "Hey, we all have stuff we miss.... and stuff we -don't- miss."

Yeowang nods at Miho being the best mortal weaponsmith in Yamato, and says, "I'll definitely be counting on that." She's not sure what to say to Thalia, but finally says, "That sounds like a good plan." She nods to Miyako about things we miss and sighs thoughtfully. "I was supposed to meet my boyfriend in game. I miss him, but I think it's better that he's not stuck here."

Miho looks over. "Well so far as I know she doesn't have one." Somewhere morri will be cackling. Mirho does not know this. "IF he was in the Palace Lands it would be best he was not on when this happened." Given the horror show though. "Honestly i'm happy with my life at this point if I'm being honest..."

Thalia not only lets Miyako hug her, she hugs the other Spriggan back. "Yeah. I just ... Honestly, I never want to go back. This is so much better than out there. Yeah, it's dangerous sometimes, but I'd say my life is better in here."

She frowns sympathetically at Yeowang's tale. "Yeah. Like, being trapped in here when you'd rather not be wouldn't be fun, but I don't feel trapped. I feel free."

    Miyako nods, "Exactly. Sure, there's stuff I miss. But there's stuff I'm glad to be away from, too. And I've got my music, and I've got new friends, and..." She trails off and shrugs, still holding on to Thalia.

    But it gets late, and Kotono heads up to bed, and Miyako looks down at her now-empty plate and contemplates joining her. "Mmm. I think.... I think it's getting-horizontal time."

Yeowang ahhhs to Thalia. "Yes, I'd definitely log out if I could. But I don't think we're still connected. Wouldn't someone have gotten us out after two and a half years? I think we're a process in the game that got spun off and we exist independently of who we remember being. So, in that repect, we're all here for good, and we can only make the best of it." As things seems to be breaking up, sheannounces, "I have some work left to do today, so I'll finish that up." She'll gather up her things and take her leave.
