Pirates and Pens

Llyn has been busy helping grind for material to aid in various projects for the Alliance. She's seated at a table now having placed an order. She has parchment or is it paper out and has something out she's scribbling with at the moment as she's going over things. To see someone who looks like some kind of pirate writing so intently and ... neatly. Wait what is she writing in anyway. It does not look like anything asian...

    If there's one thing Asuna has learned about working here, it's to be curious about the customers. But not too curious. It's a world full of secrets and people get pretty protective of them.

    With this kind of mindset, Asuna approaches from the front and pointedly does not study what Llyn is writing. It could be a secret pirate thing. Like a map! Which is really an exciting thought, but Asuna is so bad at with maps that she'd have trouble drawing up a sketch of the kitchen.

    "Good evening! Welcome to the Dragon's Larder!" She's been here for a few hours now, and though she is, admittedly a bit tired, she maintains an energetic tone. "Is there anything I can get you? I've got some pizza in the oven, so that'll be out in a few and we've got a really great lager tonight." At least that's what she's been told. Asuna never touches the stuff, herself.

While Shiruba doesn't really have any care for the Tower, the people that have decided to live inside of it were a different matter. That and the shelters she'd help build for the people displaced by the Palace Lands war needed some maintenance and that was an obligation to take care of as well. After all that, the wolfgirl doesn't really feel like trudging all the way back down to Alne on an empty stomach so she's come to the Tavern first.

    The Flash gets her name from being, well, quick. She notices things swiftly and reacts with grace and blinding speed. It's all right there in the nickname, see? Because of this, Shiruba's entrance is noticed immediately.

    She manages to step to the side, half turn to remain facing Llyn while also being open to speak with Shiruba. "Welcome the Dragon's Larder!"

Llyn says "Pizza? Japanese? Western?" She tilts her head a bit and she grins a bit and looks down at her work and she grins a bit.

It's not a map, but the script its in is clearly the one that English uses, mostly.

"I'll take a pizza and I'll pay for one for her too as well." She grins

"Come join me!"

    Asuna looks back to Llyn, "Western. It's my newest version, too. Gruntie and peko sausage." With a proprietary blend of spices! Which she will not be divulging easily!

    "I will get that for you shortly! The pie should be popping out any minute now."

    She slips away to the bar, then, but calls out over her shoulder, "If you want anything to drink, feel free to just bark out the order! We're all friends here."

    And a moment later, some random adventurer at the bar does just that. The previously-mentioned lager is delivered to the man, as is some pleasant small talk about good places to hunt goblins.

    Despite Asuna's comments about friendship, though, there is a table at the corner where two men are giving her rather frosty looks when they think nobody will notice.

That's some quick service. "Hello Asuna. Llyn." She remembered the pirate lass' name, even. And doesn't get a chance to order before Llyn does it for her, but she's not going to complain as she walks over to take a seat at the same table. "You seem to be getting along well after your *ahm* rescue." Pause. Tail flick. "Sorry we couldn't grab more of your crew, but it was a surgical operation. We didn't have that kind of manpowe--"

A pause. A squint at Asuna's form retreating into the kitchen, trying to determing if that pun was intentional or not.

Llyn says "I'll take two as i said one for me and her." She looks over to Shiruba as Asuna heads off and she grins.

"Yes, quite well honesly. I'll free the rest and I will take the head of the Queen. I will kill her."

She brightens up now and she tils her head.

"Mmmm I think she just got you Shiruba..."

    Asuna pauses. Hm. The response from Llyn has her guessing. Two of what else? Well, must be lager. She's a pirate, after all! So she'll bring two over to the table right away!

    "As.. ordered?" She thinks.

    Either way, she leaves those at the table and darts off before someone protests. It's an advanced technique of serving tables. Plus the pizza is readyish. That's what she has to rush to. Yep.

Shiruba snorts softly. "Hardly the first time someone has used that one," she murmurs, and shakes her head a bit. No big deal. You can't really play a race that's part animal without expecting a pun here and there. "I'm just glad you and the other escapees from the crowned armies are doing okay." Even if she's not entirely sure why they've all sided with the SEA but maybe some just really want to get back home.

Nyanta enters the bar, pushing the door open with his rapier so as to avoid touching the door. He slowly moves inward, appraising the serving area with an unreadable poise, the resting cat smile on his face and half-open lids of his eyes hiding any clues as to what he might be thingking. He does not seem to be paying attention to the PEOPLE in the tavern persay. He is on a mission, it seems. What possibly could it be, one might wonder...?

Llyn smirks for a moment. "I guess it can be ruff for you at times right?" It may be they may want to get away from the murderous /AI/ or natives. Who knows she seems to be frienly enough. "They are, still the threat of the Palace Lands remains, until it's leaders are dead. Even then we may have to do as the Great Khan to get them to stop."

    Asuna is carving up a bit of pizza in the kitchen when Nyanta enters. With apparently a bit of a problem with the door. Asuna cleans it, you know! Anyway, she emerges with two plates and two large slices for Llyn and Shiruba.

    En route, she does of course see Nyanta. "Oh, hey there, Nyanta! Welcome to the Dragon's Larder!"

    Food set down. No forks, though. I mean, it's pizza. Why would you use a fork?

    "So, anything else I can get you ladies?"

    She pauses and wonders aloud, "The Great Khan?"

Shiruba takes a bit whiff as Asuna brings over the pizzas. "Smells wonderful." Then nods a bit. "All in due time. But in the meantime..." Thankfully while being part canine Shiruba does have some decent table manners, and isn't going to just shove the whole slice of pizza in her mouth at once. She's the kind that wants to enjoy the -whole- food, not just the few first moments of indulgence. "I think we're good for right now, Asuna, thank you."

Nyanta gives a bow of the head to Asuna, appraising her, and the pizza, "If it isn't Asunya, the Flash. Do you often serve at this tavern, nya? I must apologize for not making a reservation, nya. The quality of the food here certainly looks as though it would require one, weeks in advance nyao less, nya."

He notes the two women, both the Undine and the Cait Sith, and gives a polite bow, "Ah. Myany pardons for disturbing your myeeal. It does look positively divine, nya."

Llyn waves to Nyanta and says "Gengis Khan." She says as she gets her slice of pizza with a grin. She will dig in. "You know Mister, .05 percent of all humans alive are decendant from him?" That's a hell of a lot of people when you think about it. She pauses at the catman looking him over for a moment

"Join us and I'll cover your meal as well!"

    "So.. you are going to stop them by having someone else get a lot of them pregnant?"

    Asuna can't quite wrap her head around that. But she doesn't have to focus on it very long. Cause Nyanta needs food!

    "Nyanta, how about a nice lager and a slice of pizza? We also have some tea, if that's more to your liking."

    She's already on her way to the kitchen. Always moving, the Flash is! And quickly. Asuna can slice, dice, and bake!

Shiruba takes a drink from her own lager after a few bites of pizza. Though she does have to stop and squint at the conversation for a moment. "I.. don't think that's what she's talking about, Asuna." At least she's hoping not, trying to think about the matters of that stripe is just going to get someone in trouble. "Llyn is probably talking more of the ... questionable things Khan did in the name of unifying so many kingdoms under one leadership."

Nyanta flashes Llyn a smile. His fang even glints in the light, "Ah, I could not refuse a myeeal offered by a lady; meowever, do expect that, in near the future, such charity shall be repaid in kind, and it would of course, nyeed to be soon, as I am nyawt one who enjoys to be indebted to anyather."

With that, he does, indeed, take a seat, "I would love to purrtake of your reccommendation, Asunya. This," he gestures to the bar, "Is hardly the setting for earl grey, I should think, nya."

His ears perk up as the table continues their talk of Khans, "Ah, but wouldn't those questionable things that he did in the name of unifying so many kingdoms also contribute to his .05 percent of all humans alive being his descendants?"

Llyn bursts out laughing. "No, I mean how he waged war and built one of the largest empires in human history. Being utterly ruthless in the end. We can't show them mercy they won't have any for us."

She laughs "He had a very large number of concubines and his wife was a terror nearly as great as he." The Empire building power coulple. How has someone not done an anime of that?

    Asuna will, with that, devote herself to getting Nyanta's food and drink sorted out. She has a steaming hot slide and a cool drink in front of Nyanta in no time. And without spilling a drop!

    "So basically... yeah, ruthless. Not sure where that ends, but from what little I understand, isn't that kinda how it all started, too? Is it really that bad, or is it more just their leaders?"

    She is curious, though. Being over here in Yamato, they didn't ever have quite that problem they have in the Palace Lands.

    Part of being Asuna these days is being ready to react to chims at a moment's notice. Her face takes on that distracted look. She has a concerned look on her face.

    "Is she? Oh no. Tell her I'm on my way!"

    A look to those at the table. "Sorry, everyone! The other server is going to be able to finish things up, though. Emergency just came up! A little girl has first claim on me."

    She'd have it no other way. She's out in a Flash! Momma to the rescue, it seems. And while most at the bar offer waves or a polite goodnight or some other measure of encouragement, there is that corner table and the two men who offer a sharp glare when Asuna departs. They settle their tab and depart only a few minutes later.
