Meet the Landers: Helba

Haru meets once more with Helba, in order to deliver what he owes her.

Haru
Yamato - 3 - 0 - 0

Haru has had, what the Hobbits call, an Adventure. He has also had second breakfast in the form of a baked potato the size of a grape. Grape potato. The tiniest of tots. It is clear he is considering these things as he walks along the outskirts of Eas. He is also considering how to signal down that he has acquired what is necessary. Chims are best, followed by Chim over Carrier Pidgeon, an RFC that is hotly contested. The message is a simple one: 'I have what is required. -H'

The silver haired man is off with his walking, looking towards the lake where he has been exploring the past weeks. No rush. Its not like these people materialize behind the stables like ninjas. Never think that Haru, thats how they get ya!

"I need to lay off the accessory forging," he says out loud, rubbing his one visible blue eye and cracking his neck to the side. His stabled birb, Karen, looks at him like 'Why?' and thusly Haru tells his traveling birb, "No reason. Diversify." 'Wark?' "Think outside the box, Karen. 1s and 0s, throw in a 2 now and again. Broaden your mind." 'Kweh?' "Right. Like talking. To. A. Peko." Maybe go back to Accessory Forging, Haru.

"I have... concerns." A woman's voice sounds behind Haru as he continues to talk to his traveling bird. A woman wielding a most eminant staff seems to have just come out of nowhere. No doors nearby, no plants or rocks. Somehow, she had received his message. Perhaps simply through means of Chims. Whatever the case may be however, she looks down on the youth.

"Did you get it?" The woman inquires with him, as she taps her staff upon the ground twice. A small circle appearing beneath her for a moment. Some kind of standard magic, from the looks of it, after which she looks around. Scanning the area, perhaps?

Haru knows how flighty this woman is.

It has been said by Haru's sister that he can manage to both look like he is doing a shady back alley deal and preparing to dine with the ambassador to a kingdom. Exchanging contraband with Helba near Peko stables is prophetic. Perhaps Uta has become some Loremaster Oracle hybrid. "Yes," he responds, reaching into his cloak which is totally-not-a-trenchcoat and taking out what looks like a platinum chip with '13' scrawled on it.

The Artificer hands it over, "Your lead was accurate," as he looks around as well. Haru places a finger along the silver rim of his monocle, dialing it to assess the area. Like using a microscope to do a spyglass' job.

The woman's expression seems very even. Just a thin line of her lips as he answers and reaches into his cloak. Though he cannot see her eyes, it is clear that even this is considered with some measure of consideration and concern. After all, she is someone who is 'wanted' by the Scale Emblem Alliance - and nothing has stopped Haru from trying to entrap her.

But, out comes a chip. "Unusual." She notes, as she spots the 13 scrawled on the item, as she reaches out and takes the coin into her hand. She doesn't move it into her inventory however. Instead, she stands her staff against her shoulder, takes out a small baggy, and puts the coin into it. It clinks.

The baggy put away, she reaches into another part of her clothing, and pulls out something that looks like it's some kind of 'living' eyepatch or... monocle? It squirms as she pulls it out, offering it to Haru. "I abide by my word." She answers Haru.

Haru extends a hand and takes the living monocle. Now the bemonocled Artificer is the proud owner of two. The Fall and Spring collection of Chuuni monocles. Of course he takes a moment to Appraise the new Monocle with the old Monocle, which may inspire a meme somewhere in there. "You nailed my fashion sense," he humors, only Haru humor has all the warmth of Professor Snape saying 'Obviously'. He holds it up, looking at it as it tilts in his hands. "Any key features of this I need to be made aware of before I cause a Try-Guy to appear with a desire to nullify my brain matter?" he asks evenly. Although Haru certainly looks keen and capable enough to entrap someone, he hasn't. Not with Helba. It could very well be his love of the Scale Emblem's methods are very low, that they are a natural antagonist to his way of living, or that Helba's better aligns to his way of thinking. It wouldn't be in his best interest to sell Helba out and its entirely within his interests to foster a relationship now that a thin account of trust is being built.

The Flash of Death is something that weighs on both of them, after all.

"I assume that one goes into safe keeping away from the grip of Cú Chulainn," Haru asks, the visible blue eye flicking to where the baggy once was.

"I do not believe that Tri-Edge will show, unless you severely mis-use this power." Helba answers Haru, clearly ignoring the way in which he commented about his fashion sense. There's a deadpan-ness to her. None of her expression betraying the modicum of care she might be taking about her approach with Haru.

She then looks down at the baggy's former spot. "Hmm, yes. This will be kept well out of reach of Cú Chulainn. But there are many more pieces of The Morrigan remaining. And I do not know at what point, critical mass is reached." The woman points out, then turning back to Haru.

Were he to put the new 'monocle' over the old one, it'd literally 'swallow up' his old one. Inspecting it, it'd reveal its name - Dark Ghost Seek. Apparently from a place named Orth.

Haru is questionably reckless, or perhaps simply decisive, once he determines the name and its origin. The dark eyewear is placed over his relic, getting the sort of symboitic Chuuni snack that Venom or Carnage might enjoy. "What /precisely/ is 'The Morrigan'?" he asks, as the concept of that topic has manifested in a number of conversations in the past. "Its function, how it appears in this realm if beyond the pieces being collected, and," he takes a pause as the new monocle gets 'situated' where the old one once was, "what measurements are in play to track it if its approaching that particular inflection point." He akins it to the point where one might defy gravity by reaching a point greater than the gravitational pull. Or combustion with heat. Things change. The Artificer gives the new monocle a tap, pleased that it also functions covertly as people expect him to have a monocle on already. This will not draw undue attention. Well. Until he uses it.

"The Morrigan is... for all intents and purposes, a god cut in twain." Helba offers to Haru, giving him the best estimation she can think of. "And I believe you already know its 'function', as you put it. It's... Change." That is as simple and as complex as an answer as it can be. For change can mean many things. Yet, those who have found Enigma Pieces before know every well what kind of Changes these are.

"There is no way for us the measure it. We will know if that dome comes down." She motions towards the north-east roughly. "It may be inevitable." She adds, before taking her staff into both hands again.

"Anyhow. I will leave you to it to try out this new 'toy' of yours. I imagine you have the kind of mind that'll come up with ways of using it to help your allies."

"Creativity is an important element of crafting," Haru pontificates to acknowledge Helba's assessment, "so Change in the hand of the creative is a powerful tool by my assessment." He picks up a bit of straw from the stable, assessing its properties and considering tests to adjust the values therein. "It can be hoped that change is made to the better of many, rather than the alternative, and I do seek to use it in that fashion." Ezzo. Something to think about. It could very well be a form of instrumentation, like sun spots, if that is the case. His mind stops wandering as he looks to Helba, "Thank you for your assistance. Travel safely and if you need a favor in the future with something I can help with, do not hesitate to reach out."

Helba slowly nods her head. Not answering his words, letting him simply speak to himself for the time being. And when he thanks her, she simply turns and begins to move out of the stable and rounds a corner.

Followed by someone else coming in, who didn't see anybody pass them by - asking of Haru needed any help with the Pekos, and if he was still talking to them.
