Meet the Landers: Akumeiji

Giganpor seeks out the Tower of Mages in order to find some history to the first Moonlight Armorcrafter's invention. But will the answer truly be as special as he might expect?

Going for mid-day to approach the Mage's Tower. He had been absent a lot recently, more than likely doing his searching but also taking some time off with all the revelations before.

Sighing, the giant of a man ran a hand through his hair before moving to the bridge that goes to the Tower of Mages. That's where he met Akumeji last time if he remembered right. That seems like ages ago.

Now, he just waited patiently with his newest invention tucked over an arm as he looked at the symbols on the bridge once more off to one side. Thinking.

"First armorsmith's invention... what in the world is this quest leading me to?" He muses to himself as he runs a hand over the vest in his hands.

It had been Giganpor's own desire to go to the Mages of Towers while chasing tale of the first invention of the Armorsmiths. There is no certainty as he comes to this place, that he might find the answers here. Regardless of that however, it seems there's quite a bit of hubub near the Tower of Mages. A bunch of noble looking Humans stepping out of the massive entrance, talking about eachother. Largely speaking of what they desire to eat tonight before the day is gone.

Amongst those stepping out, he spots the woman he remembers as Akumeji. She's a bit older than the last time he saw her. A good two years also, perhaps. She's got maybe just a tiny bit of wrinkle to speak of, but for the most part, she doesn't look particularly change from the last time. Stepping past, at first she doesn't seem to recognize him, but she does look his way in this way of 'maybe...'

The noble looking humans has Giganpor turning to watch the group go. Two years is a long time, and he seems to be considering it as he notices Akumeji in the midst of them. Last time he received what he needed, this time he was uncertain. As it was a quest, and he was without any means to search or clues as to where to go now. Just that one simple sentence. He waits until most have past him and he considers how best to approach.

And he hopes he remembers her title right!

"High Mage Akumeji? May I speak to you for a moment?" Hopefully he has the right title. And maybe some of her curiousity. Then again, being ignored would be the worst thing to happen. He's not changed much in appearance after all. At least he hopes not. Maybe some stubble.

Akumeji makes a thoughtful sound for a moment as Giganpor lifts his hand and tries to get her attention. The woman nods his head. "Yes, that is me." She answers him. "How may I help you?" She then comes to a proper slow. She's holding a few books under her arms - some kind of reading for when mid-day hits evening eventually, most likely. "Giganpor, right?" She then finally seems to remember. "I believe I recall speaking to you here at some point." She she clearly cannot remember what.

Giganpor gives a bow. "It is. You helped me last time with a bit of... inspiration. In regards to the moonlight armorcrafter. I came in hopes that you might be able to help again, but I am doubtful as it seems like a lost relic or other item that may be close to impossible."

He seems to consider, looking at the vest/shirt that he has in hand, "Either way, I have something that may be... helpful if war ever comes to bother mages again. I do not know how much, but..." He shrugs.

He's trying at least, but well... it is the high mage and he's asking for information on what might be impossible.

"I don't really know how I can be particularly of use to you when it comes to the path of a Moonlight craftsman. Even the Tower of Mages has very little knowledge about its past. Aside from understanding that it comes as a gift perhaps inherited of the Alv." She proposes to Giganpor. The woman pauses for a moment, adjusting her posture and moving the books up in her arms. Adjusting her weight so that they don't press uncomfortably against her. They're rather precious to her. Books, after all, are still a rarity in Yamato.

She then looks at the vest in his hands.

"A... shirt?" She simply asks him, confused.

"Ah... it is a recent undertaking of mine. Most mages do not wear much in the way of protection, as far as I know. So, a good shot tends to take them out. Arrows, thrown daggers, throwing axes. I know the pain of such and wanted to give a chance for when they help others. This is actually made to stop such and be as light as I could possibly make it." He explains, offering the shirt to her. "And laced with protections and others. It is based on something from the world we Adventurers come used for protection. I have managed to test it and found it is proof against most weaponry that would be used at ranged."

"As for my quest, I understand. It is a long, lost history and with what happened as far as the Alv, that may be my next place to go for clues. After managing to make this, I received a new task of 'find the first moonlight armorcrafter's invention' which has me here at least." He gives a shrug, "Either way, you can keep it and I will make more or teach others to if you find it suitable."

"We usually use mage armor or similar spells in order to prevent ourselves from being harmed." She notes, while looking at the thin shirt. She then motions her shoulders kind of at the books in her arms. Indicating that she really can't just take something into her hands right now. He's caught her at a somewhat awkward time. "We can talk about the shirt later." She remarks instead, not really wanting to set the books down or exchange them with Giganpor for the time being.

"Find the first Moonlight Armorcrafter's invention..." She then chimes, raising her brow. "I mean... I don't know the answer to this for sure. But I think you, as an armor crafter, could reason this out, can't you?" She asks. "What's the first thing that comes to mind if you want to protect someone from harm?"

That makes Giganpor look at her a bit funny, "That leaves a lot of ground to cover. A shield comes to mind first, followed by a shirt or a helmet."

He sighs, "Simple riddle, hard to find item. Surely it would have been ravaged by time now?"

"Do you have to find it?" She asks him. "Or do you simply need to learn what their first invention is?" The woman asks. "Finding the first thing they ever made, physically, is looking for a needle in an Alba-sized haystack." She points out. "I'm guessing that you already know the answer in your heart. Perhaps, maybe work on that." She points out to him. "Though if the Alv made this item you seek, I'm sure it would have withstood the tests of time. Almost all they created was of Relic grade. It's our species that could only seem to emulate what they did." She points out.

That has Giganpor looking very, very thoughtful. "Perhaps not. Perhaps understanding why would work. Or trying to improve my own first. I will admit I have not done much with it lately." He reaches to touch the chitinous buckler at his side, looking like he was reminiscing for a moment.

"Relic grade... that is something that is unobtainable but desirable for someone who makes items to emulate. If I ever achieve that, I am unsure what I would do." He shakes his head, "I thank you. I did not consider that it might be more understanding than finding such an item. The Goddesses seem to like to toss interesting tasks at us Adventurers."

The woman slowly shakes her head. "I do not believe Relics lay within our purview. I think we lack what the Alv had. We have tried for centuries to create what they had. Even with their tools, we got nothing." Akumeji points out to Giganpor. "The best we can do is emulate. But... perhaps that makes it worth more, doesn't it? Refining what we have with the limited resources at hand." She motions her arms a bit. She can't exactly move her hands to show them to emphasize working with one's hands.

"Perhaps just... go back to the roots." She supposes. "That is where I would start." And with that, she begins to wander on off.

That has given Giganpor a lot to think about. He looks for someone to leave the shirt with, then starts to move off himself. Musing to himself and working out in his head. A shield to protect. Something that he has made before, but perhaps he needs to go further.

A hand rests on his chitinous buckler as he seems to be lost in thought as he wanders off with those thoughts. It was not only a large clue, but it was also perhaps something he had a few ideas on where to look now. Perhaps even who to start asking or if he needed to ask. It was, after all, a task that he could understand in his mind but also his heart the more he thought about it.

"Now to put it into practice, I suppose."
