Wait what do you mean now there are two of them?!

It keeps getting more fashion all the time at this rate as Lauren and Gwen meet...what could go wrong?!

Gwen

Gwen is on the tail end of a strange mood, her mind has cleared and a display has appeared before her eyes. She hammered yes as hard as she could on it.

Now she's just kind of letting her mind clear. The thing is as she leans on the counter she's clad in a form-fitting body suit she's been testing the final prototype her work is done she is pleased with what she's made. What else of note could happen today? Her parents had headed to grab supplies and likely escape being used as test subjects /again/ as well. What else could happen now?

"I need... blue, blue, blue... You, you, and you..." The person sing-songing her way through Gwen's shop is an imp, completely unadorned herself in a manner that speaks to her plain selection of clothing even as fingertips brush here and there.
Pausing, Lauren pulls from her purse a clear glass cube with a single teardrop of a startling periwinkle color. After assessing its color again, Lauren returns to her task. "Blue, blue, lilac and..." The chanting pauses. "Perhaps you."

Gwen looks up at someone who is sing-songing her way into the store. She'll pull up to her full height, as she looks the imp over.

"Hello and welcome to the Chain Mail Bikini I'm Gwen Pendragon the owner and creator what can I do for you?"

Gwen bobs a bit in place as she's looking the other woman over with interest.

"WE do have some exciting new products that will be coming out in the next few days! Oh perhaps me? Do tell."
Lauren

Although it is a small thing, in Lauren's palm the teardrop of color preserved in glass is not trivial in size, either. "Well hello," she says, smiling politely after gathering herself from her thoughts. For someone so intense a dark around the edges, without much fill-in, it's nevertheless the subject of color that has her pulling some pieces from further away than others.
"I mean to make a bodice. Cut on the bias," She says, the fingertip of her free hand draw a sharp whiplash. "The whole effect is... Goddess of Beauty from the ocean. But to get there, first I need the right inlay sequence, and that means more layers of true blue doublecloth than I care to weave. And matching moonlight this shade?" She gestures to the thing. "It's left me sleepless."

Gwen looks Lauren over more curious about what she has to say.

"mmm I see, so you need more than you and produce for this project. I should be able to help you with that. The dying might need an alchemist but I'm confident it can be done. Few things are beyond me with enough time and materials."

She looks her over for a moment longer.

"So you are you seem to have an eye for this and we have never met before."
Lauren

Lauren steps back into a curtsey, the kind that extends actual deference by dint of requiring one to /step back/. And thus, she takes careful control over the square cube. "Lauren," She says upon rising. "Lauren Sharpe. I've been running around for what feels like forever just to get the skills... Oh, I wanted to know exactly what kind of moonlight I was aiming to spin into silk. There's also a lovely satin number I've put together."
And when Lauren leans forward to describe this satin number-- 'all of a piece, but like a fading sunset, less ombre, more formal dinner,' -- she seems genuinely dazzled at the prospect of just talking fashion. "But you see how difficult it is just to get the things together," She says. "And so many people lack vision!"

Gwen says "Good to meet you." She does seem curious and is liking more and more what she hears about it.

"I admit, I been more into the more combat end of things or very casual." She gestures to some basic sundresses on display alongside other items more suited to combat casting.

"Yes, I have been developing a new material."

She gestures to the body suit she's wearing.

"It's been a very wild ride."

"Wow," Lauren says, leaning forward to take a closer look. "Is that--" she squints. "Denim? Is that a three-point twill? It looks heavenly. I've had to make do with fabrics that either drape or that Ican silhouette," She says, gesturing vaguely to her own figure. "But this is stunning. What was your inspiration?"
Gwen

Gwen says "Yes, yes it is." She pauses for a moment looks down.

"Honestly? I was just getting frustrated with the lack of certain materials like back in a lot of older fantasy they had these undersuits on and it went from there. I wanted to have more costumes and I just become possessed by the idea." She grins. "It happens...more often than I'd like to admit, that's how we got Denim too. Lander labourers love the pants, last a heck of a lot longer."

"I have a few more would you like to give one a try, if you menu equip it, it will fit perfectly."

Lauren seems to have lost her attention in the past. "You don't say," She says, reaching into her purse to pull out a sketchbook. It opens, and...
Inside is an world of silver screen glamour. Feminine figures are drawn in layers and types of corsetry, displaying how the various gown and bodices fit together-- and what materials to use. "It's what I remember from real life. My mother was an actress," She admits, turning the page to reveal a black satin gown unadorned but for the way it clings to shoulders and back. "And for me it isn't the concepts, it's the materials and the abilities. It's been rough getting a loom, let alone actually processing my own intangibles. Like laughter," she says, tapping a violet scarf so transparent it only appears as a cloud that shimmers around the shoulders. "That's hard to coax into form."

Gwen watches Lauren as she pulles the purse out and takes notes of the sketches with interest and seme to give them an approving look.

"Oh? Interesting."

She sees that Lauren is very much like her. From a different direction but aiming for roughly the same place.

"An interesting way to look at it. A lot of my work has to double for field work but this... oh this I'm liking what I see here...once you do though. It's worth the effort and the pain."
Lauren

"That... I feel you," Lauren says, slounching a bit to stare at the notebook. With a wide smile, she gently shoves it from shelf to purse. "You'll have to forgive me. Like you said, you gotta combine the practical with the profitable. I enchant a lot on the side," she adds. "One day, to be an artificer? That is my dream. To be a legendary designer of haute couture? Also a dream. They seem symbiotic."

Gwen says "I do like helping people look their best. Even if they have to ahem be shown how good it will be." She's not her mother at least. "Some of my biggest sellers are plain undergarments and socks. After a week of dealing with Medival undergarmens and chest bindings I just kinda had it... you know?" She smirks. "I get that, this world's been a second chance for me with this. I ended up an 'office lady'"

A woman's voice from another room calls out.

"GWEN! Your the one who came to your fathers business looking for a job!"
Lauren

Rather than directly acknowledge what just occurred, Lauren gives a Mona Lisa smile to Gwen, one which reaches her eyes and promises to go no further.
"So what about you? I'm Lauren, by the way. I think I introduced myself, but honestly, short term memory fails me after market excursions. You're supermodel stunning," She says, going so far as to step back to assess Gwen with the intensity of someone who is very focused but only on a few things. Her tone does not change. After a moment spent considering, she snaps the thumb and index finger that had framed her chin. "Why don't you model tailored separates? That way you can teach people how to put things together. They get the look, but they don't see the price tag," she says, equally as bluntly, because in her heart she's still a Los Angeles woman. "So it only matches at higher cost."

Gwen Says "Gwen, and you did. Don't worry about it and ... thank you!" She grins and then tilts her head a bit. "I can see where your comming from there. Well if i'm not here I'm off on some adventure but humm that is an idea...a very good idea. Maybe we could set up a show..." Oh god what have you done...
Lauren

"It's called free advertisement," Lauren says, with a smile, before reaching out to grab the tiny cube atop the counter.
Gwen

Gwen says "That it is and i'm certain i can find a few people to join in on the fun!" She beams at this, and then a laugh comes from elsewhere. Morri seems to approve of this...the world is in danger.
