Plot Room 2

Having gathered due to the call, the adventurers find themselves--
"Nyanta! Lunaris!" The resonant tones of someone who is way, way, way too perky for this sort of rural adventure greetsh her party members. "Lunaris, how is your little dust mote? And Nyanta!" She's just happy in general to see her favorite Were Fang.
"I guess we continue on. The Guild wasn't very specific with instructions," She says, glancing between the other two. "What could possibly be so scary about a windmill?"
Nyanta
Plot Room 2

Nyanta smiles tiredly at the two familiar faces as he gives a polite bow. The Dandy Cat's appearance is FAR out of the norm. One might almost, ALMOST, define it as unkempt. His eyes have visible bags under them, even through the fur, and his half-lidded eyes are a little bloodshot, as if he hasn't been blinking enough. Still, he greets the two ladies with more than enough cheer, "Well, let us hope that the issue is not the same as last time I was called here... That was... Interesting." He gives a shrug shaking his head. "How are the two of you today?"
Lunaris
Plot Room 2

Lunaris wasn't all too chirpy today, stretching and yawning as she approached the assembled group, the ranch work was slowly sapping her strength as it entered the final days. A eye blinks open at the overenthusiastic greeting and she gave her ear a little wiggle. "Morning Lauren, Nyanta. And Sir Soot is going fine, isn't that right?" She asks her pocket, from which the little sprite pops up it's head, receiving soft head pets in return. The question about a windmill being scary makes her chortle, "I've been attacked by books, rapping bees and ink. Crowns, kobolds and.. Lets say, I wouldn't be surprised by much." To Nyanta she nods, "Doing well, yourself? You look tired."

Lauren is about to reply, and no one appears more filled with words than Lauren, when she is interrupted by a sound.
    And then, a tremble.
Lauren glances with confusion between Lunaris and Nyanta, her mouth ajar, at the sensation of sudden vibration through the field.
Only when she turns around does she see the Raddish monsters.

Nyanta grins, giving a thumbs up to Lunaris's question as he draws one of his twin rapiers, which ignites upon the draw. "I have been attempting to purrfect Fugu Prepurration, nya. It has been a long and ardorous purrocess, but I think I am coming near the end, nya." He starts hacking and slashing at the plant monsters with little thought before he starts to slow down, "This seems familiar... Plant monsters... Windmill..."

As she waited for a reply her eyes rose, blinked in surprise, and then focused with a sharp intent. Reaching down to her card deck she tossed several cards into the air, forming an array above her, suspended in place. "Oh, Fugu.. Ah I remember.." She held back a chuckle, remembering their last meeting, "Well I hope it goes well for you, now.. Do you like roasted radish?" With that, casual as anything a single card glimmered a deep red, moments before a roaring fire spewed forth from the not-so-fireproof card. "Because, I think that's enough for a few weeks. Maybe should have pickled them instead."

Raising her left hand, Lauren snaps it open like a match, and fire blazes around her hand. With teammates, she doesn't have to focus on one at a time. Rather, she finishes off what others started, or works to defend teammates. Fire flows like wine, as the three adventurers have their conversation rudely interrupted by giant radishes.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOIN?" An angry voice rings out. The farmer, fast approaching, is nonplussed at the loss of his crop.
"Oh, so, like," Lauren begins, delicately swirling one still-flaming finger around. "THose... those were your first line of defense, and we..." She glances across the field, the scent of roasted radish almost appealing.
"I think we gotta like, make do here," she tells Lunaris and Nyanta. "Um... either of you know what to do with dirt?"
Nyanta
Plot Room 2

Nyanta THOUGHT this seemed familiar. "Ah. I have chopped up these very same plants the last time I was here, nya. Well, isn't my face red, nya?" He spends most of his time apologizing to the farmer, and the rest of the morning cooking up the bodies of the plant monsters that were not revivable into a delicious Radish Stirfry. Like last time, the farmer is appeased by this gesture.
Lunaris
Plot Room 2

Lunaris wasn't the type to brush off such damage, giving a small nod to the aggravated farmer, who was by all rights irritated with the pyroclastic solution to their problem. She points at the fried radish and smiles softly, "Well sir, you can sell those if you like while the ground replenishes! Or I can pour water on it if you like, but better than having a monster crop!" Then proceeds to fail at keeping a straight face and giggles at her own joke. It's not like she knew how to fix anything here.

Hard at work, they are not. Rather, the trio work with the farmer and end up assisting the poor man with a trio of hands all too ready to help /him/ do the work.
Lauren is trying to keep a straight face, but between Lunaris making the best of it, and Nyanta seemingly apologizing again, there is just the smallest bit of freed laughter from her.
Nyanta
Plot Room 2

Nyanta rushes around the farm doing odds and ends: taking note of the condition of fences, making note of and repairing any holes in the defenses, complementing the farmer on how he stuck to the inventory regimine he gave him last time, and serving everyone tea and biscuits at tea time. Tea Time is very important.
Lunaris
Plot Room 2

Perhaps fixing the farm back up wasn't in Lunaris' talents, but reinforcements and bringing a small monster horde to bare? Well that was an easy enough feat, especially alongside Lauren. It was reminiscent of their time in the caves, and with a soothing word, a sigil or two more and more fell under the tamer's sway. A small unit of monsters big and small soon falling into line, buffering the defenses for whatever was coming. "Helping defend a farm, don't worry, I'm sure you'll get fed monster three! Monster One, more to the left, and don't you start talking back Monster Seven!" Admonishing her small troop and getting them nice and orderly.

Lauren takes the horse the farmer has, and the artificer is off to rally the outlying troops. Despite smelling of burned comrade, she is successful, and brings back a fair number of denizens ready to defend.
Nyanta
Plot Room 2

Nyanta starts hanging up small picture frames inside the windmill instead of armoring it. Aesthetics is more important than armor, right?
Lunaris
Plot Room 2

If there's one thing Luna is good at, it's pure and simple magic. "I got the windmill, it's nicely enchanted, just needs recharging," she shouts out to the group, padding over and patting a hound on his snoot. "Stay Monster Two, I know you love me, but I need to fix this." With that she presses a hand to the windmill, her five cards flaring as energy starts to ripple across the exterior, forcing old and new protection spells to wake in preparation.

Plot Room 2

"Heard that!," Lauren says in response to Luna, readily climbing to work and spreading arcane energy with her hands. It is by true enchanter quality a very bad job, but the enchantress only has on hand... her own magic, which must be spread to reinforce the structure and intimately bind the enchantments.
Lunaris
Plot Room 2

"He's got a shield, that's cheating!" Lunaris complains as the Coyote approaches, with no subtlety or stealth. This was clearly their next fight, and the Cait Sith was all too ready to actually have some fun. After all, her last real fight had been at the tourny against Tian. Now was the time to have fun and go all out. Admittedly, more to the point keeping the fires down than blasting someone, but it was close enough.

Her cards started to glow an oceanic blue, swirls and motes of water manifesting around her, tackling the closest blazes and making it difficult for new ones to spark. This, mixed with the occasional ice bolt lancing at the coyote and testing his shields, he couldn't last forever! "Hey, Nyanta, pretty sure he said Fugu sucks!" She intones playfully at the Were Fang. Seemed a good reason to beat them up, after all.
Nyanta
Plot Room 2

Nyanta frowns when Don Coyote rides up, intent on burning the windmill down again. "Listen, sir, while purrsistence is a virtue, consent is key, nya. The farmer does NOT want you to burn down his windmill. Please stop, nya." Of course, the Don charges anyway. Nyanta then opts to hit the Don with as many water-based sword arts as he can, the splashback putting out many of the fire-based attacks before they even connect.

To Lunaris, he gives a grin, "Tsk tsk tsk, Lunya. Lying is nyat something a lady should do, nya. I know that the Don could not have said that because it is impurrsible to think that Fugu tastes bad, nya."
Lauren
Plot Room 2

"Cheater!" Lauren calls out after Luna points out the shield. The darkness gathers around her, pooling shadows that slither up and down, and reach out only to whip the Don. Every strike he makes, Lauren flashes the impenetrable darkness while her teammates do the work of actually taking him down.
