Captain of the Ship and Vice Versa

The Red Chain, a group of people devoted to healing the wounded, caring for life, and doing good in this world. It all sounds nice and dandy, but like everyone who tries to do anything in any of the worlds Adventurers might be familiar with, they are faced with one of the most daunting enemies most endeavours grapple with: gathering resources.

As the saying goes, "healing people ain't cheap," and money has to come from somewhere. Healing potions aren't going to brew themselves, herbs aren't going to raise themselves, and yet, prospective patients -are- going to hurt themselves.

This is why we can't have nice things.

To be fair, this is not correct. We -can- have nice things. But it takes work. And money. And work and money is exactly what Uta is all about today.

Uta is all about helping the Red Chain help this world. And she's doing so by recruiting potential dates for Gwen Pendragon's Charity Date Auction, a fundrasing event for the Red Chain. This is the reason that leads her to visit the canals of Mac Anu, looking for people she might sway towards helping a good cause.

Llyn had heard tell of the Red Chain to be sure but it only had been after she escaped to Yamato from the Palace Lands. The captian still had been seeking a ship out and otherwise being a reproter, several small croupt guilds had had bad days from her snooping it was small things but hey she had to keep her skills sharp, right? She'd been doing quests running some of the small boats here hey it was coin and kept her skills sharp as she pulls up along side Uta calling out.

"Need a cab?"

"What? A cab? On water? Is it still called a cab? Isn't it called something more... aquatic? I don't know, a 'crab' or something?", Uta asks, before she shakes her head and points in recognition. "Llyn! I remember you!"

Llyn smirks for a moment at Uta "Well get in we can talk while I get the famour slime rancher where she needs to go!" She will gesture to Uta to get onboard "I figured a land lubber like you would be more understanding of the tem cab though Crab Cab could be a good name for a business..."

    In the olden days, before the Apocalypse, Miyako would've simply flown where she wanted. Unless she felt like sailing, which wasn't uncommon. Today sees the Spriggan down by the harbor once again, the ever-present guitar slung over one shoulder, and a bundle of food from one of the local shops held in one hand. Spotting a pair of familiar faces, she turns to head in their direction.

"It would be a good name, I think. I... I don't know, really, I am not skilled in the Mercantile arts...", Uta admits as an apologetic mumble, before perking up again. "But no! I am actually- by the way, are you familiar with the Red Chain?", she asks Llyn, point blank, before spotting a familiar face. "Miyako!", she calls out. "What a pleasure to see you again!" A moment to let that smile sink in, and then she continues, "Are you familiar with the Red Chain?"

Llyn looks over to Miyako and wave her over to join in. "Ahoy if your looking for a lift we haven't shoved off yet!" She turns to Uta "I am aware of it as it's like the Red Cross or crescent back on Earth. what about it? Doing something for it like fund raising?"

    Miyako nods, "Aye, that I have, Utacchi," she says, grinning, as she walks over to the pair. "What's up, are you drumming up donations? It's that time of year again?" She shrugs casually. "I could find it in myself to part with some col, sure."

"It is that time of year again, but guess what, it's the Bonded Heart Festival!", exclaims Uta. "Which means you get to support the Red Chain -without- spending a copper! If you want. Donations are always welcome, of course, but here's the thing! It- wait, wait. It feels wrong without a clipboard."

She flicks her menu open, navigates through it, and a clipboard shimmers into existence in her hands. She of course hugs it close to her as she leans over, "But here's the thing! We're organizing a Date Auction as a, yes, fundraising event! Which means, we need eligible dates. And guess what? You get to be so lucky to help us without impacting your finances -and- potentially find another heart to bond with! How does that sound?"

Turning to Miyako specifically, she adds, "...If you want to part with some col, there's plenty of eligible singles to be purchased!"

Llyn tils her head as Uta speaks of a way to help without dropping a single coin in it. She listens and then a grin forms on her face a very gremlin of a grin as she now does the full fuka Lean in on Uta with a gleeful look on hef face. "Oh! That's so much easier than huntinfg down a date with a rope and a net! I'm totally in! Miyako you should get in on it too! You could have some fun!"

her eyebrows waggle. "I wonder if I can get Daiyu to join in AH! I'll threaten to bid on her if she doesn't!"

    Miyako considers the pair as she takes in the announcement. "Dates, huh? Well, I think I remember mom's recipe... need some coconuts, and have to figure out how to do puffed rice... damn, I need to pick up cooking skill one of these days. Stupid game engine." She sighs and shakes her head.

    Then Llyn suggests the -other- kind of dates, and the Spriggan hmmmmmmmmms. "Well," she muses again, propping an elbow on one hand and her chin in the other. "That's the sort of thing I'd have to check with Ko-chan about. ... except for bidding on Daiyu. We already have an Agreement about that." She winks at Llyn. "Sorry Blue, no floofy tails for you."

"That's the spirit, Llyn!", Uta exclaims!

"It's okay, Miyako, it's perfectly legitimate! You don't have to volunteer as a date, you can always help recruit people, be it bidders or dates. Which reminds me, I'm recruiting a lot of dates, but I haven't worked on bidders...", she mutters, drumming her fingers on her clipboard. "We should work on that..." And scribbles something down. Clipboards, so versatile!

"I know the pain of not being able to cook," Uta mumbles. "One of these days I am going to prod Gwen to teach me. She offered long ago, it's about time I take her up on her offer."

Llyn says "Oh I have my reasons to threaten bidding on her." A long term plan to make her uncomfortable till the end of time or they finally say they had enough. something about being mind controlled right? She seems amused at Miyako before she looks bck to Uta as she kleeps up in her gril. "Oh I'll happily put myself up!" She was the most generic looking lady back on earth and noe at least she can get some attention here how could she say no?

    Miyako chuckles lightly and nods, then lifts a finger to her ear as a chimlink call comes in. "'Scuse, I have to take this. Be right back." She moves a few steps away to talk in private.

"Great! I'll put you down!", Uta exclaims, beginning some frantic scribbling on something clipped to her clipboard. "As in, you know... write your name... on the list. Not as in... devalue. First of all, it is impolite, and even if it weren't, it makes no economic sense to devalue what you are trying to auction off. That... that is the exact opposit of an auction." After nodding in acknowledgement to Miyako, with a "Go ahead! We'll be here!", she returns to Llyn. "Oh, if you could recruit Daiyu that would be amazing! The more, the merrier the Red Chain will be!"

Llyn humm "Put me down humm that sounds like a ...." She traits off smirking she makes up her mi9nd to dial down the teasing of Uta as the more she interact the more Uta comes off as an honestly innocent sort. "I'll see what i can do about her hummmm it will be fun even if she backs out on it. So hop aboard and I can get you both to your destination." She will leave Miyako to finish her conversation at least.

    Miyako finally finishes her conversation and steps back to board the boat. "Thanks," she comments to Llyn. "Now... onward. To *shopping*!"
