A New Day

The Apocalypse happened, and a new day has dawned. What's it got in store for Moriko and Elrune?

Moriko
Alne

Amidst all the chaos of everything that happened the night before, one adventurer doesn't seem nearly as put out as might be expected. Moriko is cheerfully chatting with a vendor - a person of the land - and seems to be trying to sell some herbs and flowers.

"Mr. Yokuri in Fort Ouph always seemed to like them, yeah~" She laughs, handing over a few grassy bundles. "I'll see about those potions, too. I'm pretty sure I can get the berries next time."

The vendor grins, handing over a few coins. "That sounds great, girlie. I'll be here!"

It would seem that the imp has jumped right back into her usual in-game routine, despite everything.

Elrune watched from a distance, Moriko was out selling her wares. It was beautiful to see the wild colors of flowers. She observed the woman talking to the Person of the Land, the vendor and his lively response. "Moriko!" she said cherfully. "What are you.. selling?"

Finishing up with the transaction, Moriko says goodbye to the vendor, then turns to head off - but then someone is calling out to her. She blinks, looking around, and a bright smile lights up her face when she spots Elrune. With an energetic wave, she hurries over to her new friend.

"Elrune, hi!" She holds out one of the flowers she didn't sell - a small yellow one on a narrow stalk. "Just a few plants I found. I need to do more exploring, though, 'cause things seem a lot different here. Or now. I don't really know." There's a light, musical little laugh.

Talking the flower she puts in her pale hair a ray of bright sunshine amidt snowfield. "Honestly, I think we need to take it slow and work with others. Not doing things on our own. I only just started but Ithink our biggest problem is...." she gestures towards the tower. "We've got a distinct lack of knowledge, about Yamato now... " she cants her head towards the vendor who took the flower. "You were talking to the Person of the Land," she breathed. "That's the first time I've seen something like that.
Moriko

"Huh?" Moriko's brow wrinkles slightly, but then she laughs and shakes her head. "Oh, no. You could always talk to them, silly. Just, they used to only say a few things over and over again. Or, maybe that's just how it is in Fort Ouph? I don't know." She shrugs. "They're a lot friendlier, here, though!"

Stretching her arms up over her head, the cheerful imp spins around, looking over the town. There are still plenty of rather distressed adventurers everywhere, but Moriko seems to be focusing on the people of the land, the new town, and all the nicer things. And then, she looks back to Elrune.

"But, yeah. I suddenly didn't have a lot of my stuff last night, including most of my money. And, since we can't log out, that makes money really important, you know? Because we've got to eat and pay for rooms at the inn and stuff, no? So I've been gathering stuff to sell so I can have money to buy stuff I need." There's a nod, and another bright smile.
Elrune

Leaning back on her heels, Elrue smiled. "Well I didn't know that, but then again, if you said they are friendler that's an improvement." she stretcheds abit, she finally realizing the woman was an Imp, not a human. "Well the house we slept in has a full larder, so I was figuring we could some of that, and work our way towards building a stock pile of food. I guess without refrigeration we'll need to do things the old way, salting and pickling."
Moriko
Alne

There's another brief look of confusion, there. "Why? It's not hard to make money. People still give you just as much money for stuff as they did before." She shrugs, and then smiles again. "And one nice person gave me an apple this morning, because he said I looked hungry! None of the NPCs in Fort Ouph did stuff like that, you know?" She laughs, then looks toward the gate. "And making things get dark and running away still seems to work really well if you get aggroed by something. It is kinda sad that I don't know this area as well as the forests around the Fort, though. But I'll learn it!" And there's that bright smile, again.
Elrune
Alne

She considers things a moment. "We can't logout, and the People of the Land are.... normal people." she said slowly turning the idea over in her mind. "Get dark?" she asked her friend. "But we will learn it I agree, but I feel weird, I had onbly just started, and now I find... myself.. here.. in Yamato."
Moriko
Alne

"Mmhm. Make things dark. Most things can't see in the dark, so you can use it to run away." Moriko lifts a hand, waving her fingers to signify running. And then she grins. "I knew the area around the Fort really well. Which creatures would attack you, which ones would leave you alone, how close you could get to the mean ones without them noticing you, how far you had to go for them to lose you if they did notice." She laughs, then shakes her head again. "The fauna's a bit different here, but so long as I stay close enough to the town, I ought to be able to figure out the leash distances. And the plants are mostly the same, so I ought to be able to make some really simple potions. I need to find those pretty red berries, though."
Elrune
Alne

She considered it. "Oh you mean using 'Blind' Ability." she said cherfully she played games. She understood the logic now. "That makes sense, it makes it harder for you to be seen by the monsters.But..." she touched the flower. "But maybe we should head back to the house and cook up some of the stuff that's in the pantry it was stocked."
Moriko
Alne

Moriko shakes her head. "Not just that. I use dark magic. It's really good for stealthing, you know?" She smiles softly, then looks back to the gate. "And, yeah, if you're hungry, you should go get some food. I'm going to see if I can find those berries, though. If I can make some potions, I'll feel a lot safer, and I'll be able to make money more easily, too. So, that's important, you know?"
Elrune
Alne

Her mouth moves in an 'oh' fashion and Elrune nods. "Ahh I see, Ithink I picked some support classes,I wanted to help others, So I am not the best... fighter." she states. "And that'd be great, can I come with you? When you go so I know what to look for? maybe we should fine someone else to help us out."
Moriko
Alne

"I thought you were hungry?" Moriko tilts her head, looking over Elrune. "I can't guarantee we'll find much good to eat, but you can tag along if you want. I don't want to put anyone else out, though." She looks around again, and bites slightly at the edge of her lower lip. "Most everyone seems to be really stressed out right now. I don't want to add to that."
Elrune
Alne

Thinking on that. "Well its not that I am not hungry, its that I am curious about the beautiful plantlife and food." she stated firmly. "But maybe I'll go to the house and eat first."
Moriko
Alne

Moriko laughs at that, nodding. "Okay. I'm not going far, so we'll probably run into each other again in just a little while." It doesn't seem that she's even considering the in-game communication systems. Or perhaps she's already tried it and found it buggy? Who knows. "Enjoy your breakfast!"

With a cheerful wave, she turns and starts heading back toward the gate. She didn't wait for a good-bye from Elrune.
Elrune
Alne

Elrune headed back towards the house, cosndiering the options for breakfast. A rasher of bacon and bread and other things in the larder that she couled find might work.
