Learning to Walk

Elrune
Alne

The sun had been up for a few hours and the city had started to come alive, after a fashion. Adventureres still reeling from the prior day's world shattering event, were huddled and clustered around. Others seemed determine to do something.

Elrune, sat on a bench, her eyes scanning left and right across the faces of adventures alike. The young woman ran a hand through pair hair begining to attempt to braid the long thigh hair, trying and failing misserable. "Why did I give myself this hair?"
Emiko
Alne

Emiko had at some point started to wander the town, trying to estimate some things. Not the style of the buildings but possibly how to organize things with some thousand people that needed to be housed and fed. Because something like that was on her mind first.

Spotting Elrune fighting her hair, the Cait Sith closes in, clearing her throat. "Are you trying something specific?"
Elrune
Alne

Looking up, she held out her long long hair. "I was trying to braid it, but my hair isn't like this.. in..." she gestures to the hair slowly. It was different hear. Her hair was not like in the other world, and the asthetic choice was beautiful but now it presented a problem.
Emiko
Alne

"You mean you never have braided your hair before?" Emiko asks, offering a smile. "Do you need help?" she asks, stepping closer. "You'll need something to tie a braid together with."
Elrune
Alne

Elrune nods slowly. "THanks." she says softly, "My hair is....not like this." she said quietly. She exhaled, trying calm her racing heart. "It's interesting to do something that in real life I longed to do. But couldn't." she ran her hands through the hairs soft luxurious texture. "Yeah I should get some ribbons.."
Emiko
Alne

With a little sigh, the short Cait Sith reaches for the long hairs, starting to comb through them to try to sort them a little to make them more easily braidable. "You know, you could always cut them, but these are rather nice hairs and some people would kill to have such." But as she speaks, she starts to separate the hair in three thick strands to braid them.
Elrune
Alne

Shaking her head slowly, Elrune smiled. "I am not cutting it. I just have to get used to the fact that its far longer. I'd only started playing -yesterday was my first day." she said softly. "But honestly this is amazing. THe air the grass, its all so lifelike." she touched her cheek. "The actual way your pulling my hair kind of hurts, but in a good way." she swallowed. "I am Elrune, and you are?"
Emiko
Alne

"I'm Emiko, I think we have had met on the market a few hours ago. I arrived some... two weeks ago or such. I have somewhat learned the basics, so I guess I didn't loose as much as others. It wasn't as lifelike before... the event." She speaks as she lets loose of the hair, wiping her fingers. "Sorry if I was a little rough. Do you want to comb it first? I mean, to disentangle it? You can't braid entangled hair very well."
Elrune
Alne

The soft humming quietly picks up a tune, before stopping. "Yes. she said slowly. "U mm I'd be welcome for any advice or interesting tips, Emiko." she said cooly. She wanted to talk more, but she struggled with what to talk about. "I mean, its a little jarring to fall asleep to the sobs of others, and yet wake up and watch the sun rise on such a new world."
Emiko
Alne

"It surely is... But let's better not talk of Overseas. We are here now. Though... You really shoul get a comb for this hair. It really deserves one." Emiko notes, just sitting next to Elrune for the moment. "Shall I try again? I mean, to sort the hair into a braid? Though I can't say it won't hurt a little..."
Elrune
Alne

She smiles. "Overseas, I like that." she says cheerfully. She liked the sound of that. She leaned back a little bit as the Caithe Sithe toyed with her hair. "Yes. Beilve me, please do it!" she smiled. "I guess a hairbow and ribbons are on my buying list."
Emiko
Alne

It is less a toying as more a careful working with the long mane of black, the fingers working carefully. "You know, back in the old times it would have been a bad sign to tie the hair together in anything but a careful and elaborate hairdress held up with pins and sticks. But nowadays a careful braid can work too. Careful, this might sting a little." she notes, tugging at a little knot of hair before separating it into the stands again to start a loose braid.
Elrune
Alne

She avoids chuckling,. for a moment. "This is nothing like a perm and a hot-comb. This is mild pain." she told the cait sithe with a grin tiling her head back. "But tell me more of this culture an custom, and honestly maybe putting it up a little isn't a bad idea." she mused. Though as she looked around, she realized the quiet morning was a little more interence and lively. "But then again thisn't Ancient Yamato, its just Yamato."
Emiko
Alne

"Well, it'd be Heian Era, where elaborate hairdress started to take hold, and then it was considered a huge indignity for a woman to be seen brushing her hair, but it was all the more desireable for a man to try to spy such. That was hundreds of years after the Yamato era." Emiko noted, chuckling a little as she worked on the braid. "Going so far as allowing someone else to brush your hair was probably seen as scandalous as it could get."
Elrune
Alne

The smirk was larger now." Yes, but I am adventurer not a court lady." Elrune clarified. "So as a result a lot things do not apply to me. Though I suppose This Yamato," she tapped the ground with her foot. "IS distinctly its own entity." she winced as the hair was pulled tighter. She was definately not tender headed, but inthe slow and yet deep inhale signaled discomfort. "Honestly I would think that ladies in their private chambers would have maids who would help with this kind of thng."
Emiko
Alne

"Surely they did, and I think it was something that more applied to men being allowed to comb the hair of the lady they fancied." Emiko replied, ending up with the braid tapering down into a tip, only needing some sort of ribbon or band now. "I think... you need to somehow secure it now."
Elrune
Alne

Considering her options she losen the belt at her waist. "Go on and use this." She sighed. "Its not perfect, but adventurers are allowed to look a little silly right?"
Emiko
Alne

Eying the belt some Emiko sighs. "Isn't that a little much fabric? And it surely makes walking in it harder..." she comments, looking around for other options for a little.
Elrune
Alne

Considers it. "For the moment, but I'll find a way to buy some special cloth and make a ribbon. I think." she considered her options. "After I figureo ut how to make some money."
Emiko
Alne

"And there we have the crucial point. We know not how the changes have altered the monetary system... I mean, food was barely bought and sold at shops weeks ago, now it might be in high demand... and every gear and money we had was lost in the incident. But maybe the black board and duty systems are still in place..." Emiko ponders as she works on tying the braid together, workign the extra length of the cloth belt into the braid as decoration.
Elrune
Alne

Listening to the Cait sithe speak of the game systems she nodded slowly. "Exactly. I mean I wasn't here but a few hours ago. But I agree. Those things may have changes in ways we cannot fathom." she stretched her arms a little. "Besides, food, weaponry, housing, the currency of the game. People were brought down to lvl 1. It sounds like that's a problem beyond compare."
Emiko
Alne

"Land. Let's better call it the currency of the land. You'd not want somebody to talk about you as if you were not real, right? And it seems... last night it got so much more of that. Now... maybe we can find a duty that pays us?"
Elrune
Alne

"The Land's currency." she nodded. "Yeah, I agree, I mean, earlier to day, Moriko talked with a merchant, and mentioned they're more... lively. And while I have no experience for before.. I think it is safer to treat them with the respect you would afford anyone." She ran her hand along the braid, surprised by its heft and weight. "Thank you, Emiko. I suppose 'Elrune', feels a little strange on the tongue now that I say it aloud."
Emiko
Alne

"Moriko? I havn't met her I believe. Who do I look for?" Emiko asks pondering about it a little. "No problem, but you really should learn how to make it yourself. Yes, Elrune is kind of an odd name, but a unique one."
Elrune
Alne

She chuckled. "She's a friend. Well she taught me how to to look like a child." she said. She pointed to the belt. "But its a start." she stood slowly checking to make sure her tiny stature wasn't being impeding by the braid. "Thank you Emiko."
Emiko
Alne

"Taught you ow to look like a child? That's odd." Emico notes, chuckling a little. "Though I guess there have been studies upon what makes somebody look childlike."
Elrune
Alne

THere is a moment were Elrune tilts her head to the side. "Well landing on the shores of Yamato was difficult... and so I am trying to learn as much as I can. But it seems everyone is in the same bucket."
Emiko
Alne

"Maybe, though ohers surely know much more of the game. It's not like some might know the map or such. I mean, the game is out for some years and suely some will know very well where what is... or used to be."
Elrune
Alne

She listened for a while. "Its definately new to everyone." she stood up., "But its our home."
