Field Quest: Crab Tackle

    It was a bright, beautiful morning here in Yamato! The beach had a soft breeze, the adventurers arriving for their combat training and quest running, and crabs were walking across the sand.

Yes, little crabs that were so cute. With their tiny pincers and their little snip-snip claws. Can kick them with a boot! So, if these were the horrible, terrible monsters that these adventurers been sent to kill, well this would be easy!

    ... However in MMORPGs.. It is never that easy.

    Standing on the beach, waiting for everyone to gather is, a dark scaled Salamander named Xander. The man who placed out the notice and is taking some time today to teach folks how to fight. Against crabs. And maybe get some coin afterward since some Landers were looking for some crab meat... and legs... and pincers. Just general monster loot drop stuff!

The truth about crabs in games is that even if they game said they were 'cute and harmless' Elrune know they were not. She watched the sunrise quietly, though the now risen sun shone and had transformed the beach and waves, she'd moved to follow the rest of the combat squad. "Morning." she called out to Xander. She'd fouind the notice somewhat interesting, ccrabs were for eating, but it ddidn't seem like the landers had any desiren to eat the sweet meat in side.

Reika knows they are a delicacy in her world. Still doesn't really know why since they are ugly little critters. But can always use the coin in this world, even if everything tastes like soggy crackers. If people are willing to pay fort THAT, it's their choice.

She's still getting a handle on the game itself, so shes' been takign every initiative to learn her skillset more. Poke at things until something sticks, really. She paces over to the beach, arms behind her head in thought, but smiles and waves to those present "Ohayo."

    Crabs were one of the few things that could be good summoning pets, so that had brought out someone who at least had experience to help out in this. Not to mention try to figure out how some skills work.

    The giant of a red-head named Giganpor is there as he looks around, "Morning... so who's leading this and do they need a second to help out?"

And like any other bad penny, Nureha just keeps showing up because there might be some useful stuff in the offing. And if not, there is always crab.

And well.. doing a general survey of monster drop rates and qualities, but it's too early in the morning to do that analysis. Her head was still hurting and her sinuses still clogged with the smell of undead fish, no matter what her status screen told her otherwise.

Another day, another duty. Nureha dismisses her escort and then immediately regret it as she scans the people along the beach. "Oh." she says softly to herself. She makes a faint uneasy noise, tail twitching to one side before she just swallows whatever feeling she had and smiled as she approached.

It was a bright, beautiful morning after all.

    Xander watches as the group shows up, "I'm in charge." He says to Giganpor with a gentle smile on his face, though he does look a little tired.

He also gives a nod to the others, along with a friendly wave. "Hope you are all ready for this little fight. Shouldn't be to hard really. The crabs we are dealing with are low leveled mobs," He explains as a tiny, little crab skitters by behind him, snapping its claws. "They are passive until provoked, but they do team up to help defend one another. So the idea is for someone to pull one of them to the location, and..."

His eyes glanced over to Nureha, staring directly at her as he continued to talk, "... for the rest of the group to kill it, before getting the next one." He then looks back to the main group.

"In this, I will just be supervising and making sure things don't get to out of hand. Also be taking you guys back to the npc, urm, lander who has requested for the crab meat. She'll take whatever we can get from the drops and pay in kind."

    Xander goes to rest his hands on his belt, "So! Not only good experience, practice in team work, but also some coin!" He then raises a brow, "Any questions?"

Reika listens to the explanations, nodding. Pulling huh, sounds logical enough. She doesn't know much about game terms, but she can understand the idea, isolate them while staying in a safe spot.

She raises a hand "What are the conditions or skills for being the one that pulls them?"

    Giganpor looks around, then shrugs, "Depends upon the class. Some are better at it than most. I can, but with my being more experienced..." He looks over at the others, then to Xander.

    Shrugging, he looks over, "So, what classes are everyone here? I'm a Summoner and Heavy Blade, we're called Dreadnoughts. I may try to capture one of the crabs if we find a particularly big one."

Elrune shook her head slowly. "Ok so realtively standard." she breathed. She miled a little, Xander's change of tone towards the People of the Land, was amusing. Her experience with the game, had been they were unique and interesting and then Apoclypse had happened so she still thought of them as... people, in a sense. "I am Acoylte & Bard- so a Hymnist." she offers. "I'll care for the scratches and bruises and do my best to keep them under control."

Nureha smiles innocently as Xander glares at her, fluttering her eyes briefly before turning her eyes to the other participants. She listens to the rest of the instruction with one ear and raises her eyebrows as she recognizes Giganpor, raising a hand to give a lazy wave in his direction. She doesn't immediately recognize any of the others.

Annnnnnd in the interests of making new connections and totally not avoiding any more death glares, she approaches Elrune. "Hi. I must confess, I haven't had the pleasure. Do you mind if I team up with you?"

She raises her voice. "Unless I'm needed elsewhere, of course. I'm a Magus. We deal with wearing down armored opponents, but can't take much attention ourselves."

    Xander nods to Giganpor's explanation. "He is correct. Depends on the class. Mostly it will be those with single shot ranged attacks."

Xander shifts his stance a little. "So, the ranged unit will pull the monster, run back to the group. The one who is going to act like the tank will then get threat. Depending on his class, he might have to hit it a few times to generate enough threat that the dps, or also known as the damage dealers, can come back in to help deal with it."

    Xander then motions to Nureha once she explains what she does, "Such as someone like her," He is acting professional it seems and luckily, no more ire is given in her direction; for now. "Has to be careful when placing dots, or known as damage over time, on the enemy target. As dots can easily take away threat from the tank and turn it onto her."

He gives an odd, painful grin, "... and trust me, she is very good at chewing away threat and armor." His eyes then look to Elrune, "And thus we have a healer. Good, so yes. Her primary focus will be to keep the tank alive and if able, do some damage, while also making sure she doesn't overheal or overextend herself."

    Xander rubs his chin, ".. In more advance situations, you would sometimes have two tanks. A main and an off tank. These two would switch with one another to give the other tank a break, but that won't be applied here." He then gives a friendly thumbs up, "We are just here to learn the basics or get some refreshers!" Another tiny crab goes by and tries to snip for Xander's tail, who gently turns around, glares at the crab, and the crab runs away quickly.

Xander turns back to the group. "So yes, form up! Aaand.." He looks over to Giganpor, "Do you think you can handle tanking or is that why you're looking for a crab pet?" His tail twitches gently as he is debating if he'll need to get involved after all.

Reika looks over to Giganpor, nodding to the question "Oh yes, I'm Enchanter/Twin Blades". She's dressed like an assassin type, so probably pretty nimble, with a selection of debuffs mainly. She still has to learn of each class's roles and their combinations, she mostly let her fans pick up her selection, apparently they liked seeing her as a backrow ninja.

She nods to Xander's explanations "Got it." She might be a prime choice for the pulle rin this group, she's certainly no tank. "Why do they call it tank though?" Newb question really, but doesn't stop the proceedings of figuring out who does what. She figures the Acolyte is the healer at least.

Nodding Nureha, Elune agrees. "We'll do that." she says swiftly. She glances to Reika. "As a defender type, you know like the big-- tanks in the military." she comments softly. "But so far I think we're good." she follows Xander's example drawing her staff, the soft bell chiming fromthe end.

Nureha stays quiet for the explaination, her eyes slightly out of focus as she looks past the group towards the ocean. It doesn't take long for her to snap out of it.

"Because they are those willing, or able, to take the damage that a monster dishes out with it's attacks. In the expansion, and the situation we find ourselves, that usually means pain. If you miss a block, if you don't time your parries effectively, it will hurt." She frowns. "The sensation is muffled, but you still need to be careful."

    Giganpor sighs, rubbing the back of his head before he looks at Xander. "What about you? If nothing else, I can tank at least. You'll get to see a few different summons, though. Crabs are nothing nice from what I remember and I was swapping back and forth at this level."

    Xander looks at Giganpor, "Shouldn't be needed at this level, but you're not specialized as a tank, so," He sighs, "I'll handle the tanking then." He summons his equipment, as sword and shield come into hand, giving his sword a few good twirls.

Once in the party, folks who do examine on him, can see that he is a Rune Knight, a Crusader main, subbing a sorcerer. Which means his primary focus is on Defense, with the sorcerer only giving him a slight bump in attack and utility.

"Alright, so Giganpor will focus on mostly dps, same with Nureha. Elrune with focus on keeping us healed, and Reika will handle pulls." He then motions for the group to follow him on the large, white sandy beach.

"And yeah, tanks got the name due to our defense. So, Elrune and Nureha covered that fairly well in detail." He says, before he motions with his sword, as the sunlight glints off of it over to some medium size crabs that come up to a person's hip. "And that, is our targets."

    He then motions to where he is standing, while looking over to Reika, "So, you grab one and pull it here. Try to not get more than one, alright?"

Xander looks at everyone else, "You all good? Any last questions before we begin?"

Reika nods "Okay, so it's the big bulky defensive kind of tank, not shooting out from the cannons tanks, gotcha." It could go either way with a name like that, really.

She thinks "So I guess I'm more of a DPS, and maybe Puller?" She does have several ranged skills after all, and pretty agile and evasive. Unless there's a concept of Evasion tank in this game, which she wouldn't know about. She barely knows about what aggro is thanks to watching others fighting on the way to Alne.

She gets confirmation about the roll, and nods "Alright, let's see how this works..." She figured out a bit about the movement at least, so she quickly sprints away toward the crabs, and finds one that seems to be away from the others. She doesn't know how aggro range or 'linking' works yet, but that comes with experience likely.

"This still somewhat works like a game it seems... so I should use something that will make it move away from the others rapidly." So no stuns, or sleep effects. "Something not too flashy, in case it's too much like the real world..." And probably something that would help her not get hit on the way back. Ah-ha, perfect. She charges up some lightning in her hand, and throws it out at the isolated crab "Electrical Fuzz!"

... followed by a quick retreat toward the rest of the group while thinking 'hopethisworkshopethisworkshopethisworkshopethisworks'

    Reika hits the crab, as the electrical attacks dances across the crabs shell. It raises up its claws and goes to follow directly after her. It is coming quick and fast.

To break it, Xander steps in quickly and slam the shield against it, to try to draw its attention from Reika and over to him. Now it was up to everyone to do their part!

Nureha stands off to one side watching the others with something like fondness on her face, though she tries not to direct it at any one person at the risk of seeming more patronizing than she already is.

She watches Reika talk her way through her thought process and then snag one of the big crabs with Electrical Fuzz. She starts counting in her head, waiting until it's been engaged by the others before she extends a hand out towards the crab.

"Arcane Shot." She says it calmly, conversationally as a ripple of energy washes over the beach, bringing with it a hint of chill as it races towards the engaged monster.

    Giganpor brings his sword up, then spins it in hand to point downwards. "Glory of the light, shine upon us! Come forth, Auris!" At his call a series of white lines form a circle below his sword tip, then a blast of light comes out as it spins around him.

    The form resolves into a small bird made of light that circles around Giganpor before he points his sword at the offending crab.

    "Auris, Holy!" He points at the crab. The light magic attack comes out as a ball of light aimed at the crab itself.

Watching the crabs , peoples and magic and sword all moving in a furious blur, at least until she stops to concentrate on the battles around her. Elrune watches as Nureha's Arcane shot causes ripples to dance over the beach like a tide.

    Watching Giganpor with a curious smile as he summons forth light. She looked arond for a moment, crabs around, but she wanted to be craft, not drawing more crabs than nessacerily, she glanced at the pincer weilding creature that Giiganpor had started to attack. "Oh enriching flame, burn brightly." she began. "Flame Dart."

Reika did something good! Managed to bring it, safe and sound. Now she can go on the attack! She doesn't know how tough the exterior is, so she's comes in with her swords out this time. A dual strike in an X pattern using her two swords "Twin Cutter!", which she ends with a flourish.

    The Carb is indeed tied up with Xander who holds his ground with the crustacean that is right up to his waist. There /were/ bigger versions of these guys somewhere out there, but thankfully these were easy to deal with.

Or should be.

    As the claw snaps, Xander blocks the attack. This was enough of a distraction as Nureha fires an Arcane shot that clips across its hard shell exterior.
    he Holy light from Giganapor burns into the crab, causing it to scurry back some, though Xander is trying to keep himself between it and the group. So far, everyone is doing great!

    Reika comes in and places a nice, deep cut on the crab, which causes it to stagger to the side. It seems like it's almost down! However, Elrune's flame dart misses the mark and sails across the beach, hitting a rock in the distance!

Thankfully this only causes the dire crabs out that way to look where it went and stupidly stare /that/ way, instead of taking any interest in what the party is doing.

    The Crab they are dealing with, raises up its claws and swings them both, one way and the other. Xander doesn't give the warning this time, but he does try to block and return a timed attack against the creature. The other person who has to look out is Reika!

Crab Bake!

Or at least, this is now what Nureha is contemplating as they stand in the hot sun. She watches a claw ricochet off Xander's block, examining the red gash left by the Arcane shot. She stares into the distance where the Flame Dat hit, saying "Don't worry. It doesn't look like it aggroed anything. Different beast types have different reactions. Some smarter than others. Everyon look out, I'm going to use oil!" she calls out, before taking out a small vial that she tosses towards the crab before snapping her fingers.

A Firebolt curls around her like a second tail for just a moment before springing towards the oiled up crab.

    Giganpor nods, then considers as he watches. He uses the opportunity to reorient his aim, not at the crab, but at Xander. "Auris! Fairy Healing!"

    The winged light-like being gives what sounds like a tinkling bell before it heads for Xander to begin spreading light motes over him and heading back to Giganpor afterwards. The were lion watches the crabs around them carefully, juuuust in case.

The Flame Dart soared wide striking a rock and making her, wince wildly at the right exploding and the dire crabs scuttling towards the opposite direction. Elrune sighed deeply. "Well that, was not what I had in mind." she muirmere, partially frustrated. She breathed through her nose. "Is everyone doing alright?" she called out. She glance around again, her eyes flicking to the status bars- though she recognized them more as aura around people, than actual numbers, though she could see those too. "Shield of Light." she said firmly. Better to keep themwell protected for the moment.

Reika seems pretty pleased that her swords connect well.... less pleased when the crab turns its ugly head toward her, and swipes down with those claws. Those are not cute. First rule of fighting crabs, stay awa from pincers. She nimbly dodges them though, a little hop back out of reach, bouncing back toward the crap with another attack of her own "Piercing Strike!", trying out a piercing attack this time, to see if it's more effective or not. These must have weaknesses too, right?

    Thankfully Reika was quick enough to evade and Xander managed to continue to hold the ire of the Crab. Which gave the perfect opening for Nureha to drop oil on the beast and then ignite it on fire.

The crab screams in pain, or something akin to screaming as it starts to burn. The shield of light from Elrune goes out and protects them from any further harm, along with Giganpor's healing.

Then as the Crab goes to make another attack, Reika comes in and strikes the crab with her Piercing Strike, but it spends around quickly and blocks the attack Reika tries to deliver. However, that dot damage from Nureha is eating away on it and eventually-- It just collapses to the ground, right there in front of Reika.

As it falls down, it vanishes into data wisps, dropping mostly it was just crab meat and a few copper coins. Also everyone gets experience! Yay!

    Xander grins gently. "Good job everyone! That is one down, and maybe another might do it." He looks across what crabs are out there. "... Maybe we could try something a little harder." He looks over to Reika, "See that one," He points to one of them. "Go get that one. Just don't grab the one beside it, if you can avoid doing so."

Reika phews, even though her attack missed, the crab collapses. "Weren't we going to try to capture one, by the way? Is there any conditions on those?" She wonders, but either way time to go grab another. She scurries away quickly while they can discuss this meanwhile.

She follows the instructions, and gets ready to pick up the crab that Xander pointed at... although she feels that they might be too close, she doesn't know of the conditions for them yet. Well, time to experiment. She launches another Electrical Fuzz at it, it blinds it with some luck, making it easier to bring back without it attacking her. And hopefully not bringing any extra friends.

Nureha has several menu screens up and around her. They are all shuffled to one side so she has a good view of the ongoing conflict, with them facing the ocean with enough space between to not be blindsided. "That's a good call, Reika. This type often has defensive abilities or resistances that make it a slog to work through. It's important to know a little bit about your opponent before you engage as much as possible. I think.. there's a library in the Town of Beginnings that has a few common Beastiaries."

She settles in to another stance, glancing casually at the menus before looking back towards the others. "Let's see what we reel in this time." and with a mischievious smirk towards Xander, lashes out a hand and fires a Arcane Bolt across the field.. at the crab next to the one Reika has already pulled!

Oh dear. Better prepare for adds.

Emiko is late to the event, working her way down to the beach with some haste that might be not needed but certainly did fit the fennec Cait Sith. "Wait for meeeeeee!" she squeals, pretty surely too late because the whole thing should have started longer ago. "whaaaaaaa?! I am late, aren't I?!"

    Giganpor was about to do another Holy, until he sees what Nureha does. The were fang looks at her, and comments, "I hate you so much right now."

The sword is pointed upwards as he calls out, "Auris, dismiss! Fires of the world, heed my call! Come forth, Flaris!" At the same time he swings his word in a circle over his head, tracing the summoning circle in a practiced movement before he shifts in appearance to the were lion form. Following the sword's trail downwards is cat the looks to be made of flames.

    Pointing his sword in the direction of the shot from Nureha, Giganpor calls out, "Flaris, FLAME WALL!" The firey wall sprouts up to tank and hopefully divert the attention of the incoming adds towards Giganpor himself as he moves to one side and away from Xander so they don't get aggro too bad on each other.

The wild brightening of the shield of light dancing to protect the others she focused and watching the group. Shielding and warding and planning how to stay a step ahead of the others, healing and keeping them alive was the most important.

    While it could be a close call, just as Reika sends off her attack, she manages to only get the Dire Crab and as she gets closer, Xander is grinning ear to ear at this, "Great job, Reika!" He calls out to her.

Xander glances over to Giganpor, "Here is your chance, if you wanted to capture a crab, but we will need to weaken it." Then he gives a sly grin to the large were fang, "But I am sure you got this in the bag."

However, Nureha has other things in mind and Xander slowly looks over to her and says very quietly to her, "... Seriously? I might hold that drink hostage now..."

Her attack does hit a crab, which gets the attention of /another/ crab, but thankfully none of them are /named/, or this could have been far worse. Which means suddenly the party has three crabs inbound. Two which are around the same as the last and the Dire Crab which is slightly stronger than the other two.

    Xander dead-pan says to Nureha, "... I hate you so much right now." He inhales deeply before looking at the sudden new comer, sending them a party join, "Class, quick, we have three mobs inbound."

He then looks over to Nureha, before looking to Elrune, even to Giganpor. "If any of you have roots, stuns, or sleeps. I'd suggest using it on the one that Reika has coming in when it gets closer, and one of the extras."

    Thankfully before Xander can even finish his orders, Giganpor is already on it, grabbing the attention of the two crabs that Nureha pulled. "Okay, scratch that. Just sleep one of them heading for Giganpor!"

As he makes his posistion to handle the one coming in from Reika. Which he does quickly once Reika gets in quick enough, he smasks that Dire Crab in the face and whistles at it, "Come on big boy! Focus on me!" Then blocks the claw swing that comes right at him.

        -- Dire Crab vs Xander :: Crab (1) and Crab (2) vs Giganpor --

"Hate is such a strong word." Nureha says with complete and UTTER non-repentance. She watches the menus with part of her attention while waiting politely for aggro to be reclaimed.

She makes a 'twirly twirly' motion with her hand as she leans on the staff watching the situation unfold, sand colored vines creeping to life and blooming into large snake-headed hydra flowers that attempt to bind the limbs of their opponents and use poison to tenderize them and make it easier to crack.

Reika blinks as she's not bringing one but three crabs in tow. "Was that my fault!?" She has no idea what happened, that pull was clean, right?

Well no time to argue how and what, gotta fix things. As she's running back, she turns around, jumping backward so she's not losing momentum, and sends a shockwave through the ground as she lands, hoping to stun or topple a few of them for a moment while they regain their footing as a group. "Shockwave!"

She keeps running after that, whether it works or not.

    Giganpor shrugs, "I was going to aim to capture one today anyways..." He says towards Xander. Then he turns back to the incoming crabs. The sword is spun in a flashy pattern before he sets it along the backside of his gauntlets, drawing a few virtual sparks.

    Once the crabs are closer, he calls out, "Flaris! Capture, Flame Wall!" The fiery cat gives a hiss before launching another wall of flames at the crabs as it tries to surround them.

He calls towards the others, "Anyone else a summoner? I'm only able to capture one right now, and we'll have to weaken it a lot more!"

The combat going on already, Emiko's feet literally pound sand as she works her way over to the group, working furiously on trying to free her weapon. The chain hisses through the air as she finally manages to close in, enough, the left hand pulling up the menu whild the right swings the tool. "Let me try to chain the ther!" she yells at Giganpor's call for a summoner. She's not a summoner but an animal trainer, and that might suffice. A fingertouch later, the chain of her weapon seems to elongate, throwing a Thorn Bind Hostage, the chain altering its color as it flails after one of the two crabs, the fox hopint it would manage to entangle the crab in a throny cocoon.

    Nureha turns her attention to help out Xander it seems, sending out the roots. The Dire Crab is pulled and barbed by the roots. It attempts to fight free from its hold, while giving another swing at Xander.

Though as Reika attempts to send a shockwave of earth in its direction, the Dire Crab uses it to break some of the vines free, before sending a water spew in her direction!

The other two large size crabs that are after Giganpor, before the earth quack sends them right off their crabby feet and flat onto their soft-shelled bellies.

    Thankfully the flame walls are also keeping the two large crabs contained, they try to get up, they try to get away. Their claws snipping at the flame walls. It seems Giganpor has them well handled for the moment.

Emiko's thorns then unleashed and succeed on cocooning one of the crabs. It tries to escape, only causing itself more pain as it tries. Thankfully these two crabs will be soon dead or ready for capture!

Nureha seems mildly relieved that the situation hasn't spiraled out of control. Emiko, Giganpor and Reika keep on their toes and contain the larger threat of the larger pull while Elrune keeps an eye out for injuries, while still having room to menuever through the arcane capture system that summoners dealt with.

She starts humming under her breath, using Dark Wave on the crab that Xander is still fighting in order to focus down the largest threat, leaving the others contained. " Good work keeping those boxed in, Giganpor."

She doesn't mention that she caused the incident, only that it's good that it was controlled.

Dancing through the waves of attacks Elrune keeps her eyes on her party members. Keeping them alive first is her job. If they fall she falls.

Reika's shockwave seems to have some effect on some of them at least, enough for them to get trapped by a wall of fire. The one that's left though... is not happy. The water jet comes suddenly, and even with her great speed, she can't get completely out of the way, with the cutting water ripping the shoulder of her yukata off, and cutting the skin underneath. Nothing too major at least, but she winces. She's hard worse though, this is nothing.

"Don't worry about me, just take it out!" She runs past the group so that Xander can take handle on it, and she turns around to send an attack in return, summoning thunder on it "Zap!".

    Giganpor continues to work to keep the two crabs contained, then nods as he notices one might be capturable. He waits on Emiko as he keeps the Flame Walls going.

    "Flame Wall!" He continues to work on the flame walls, keeping everything contained. Or so he hopes.

He does look over once or twice to see how the others are doing with the Dire Crab.

Emiko struggles against the crab at her chain, pulling at the staff attatched to it trying her best to assert dominance and tire out the animal. "They can't handle this forever, yes? Surely they'll tire soon..."

But as the battle drags on, she picks up some stones to toss at the captured crab in quick succession, hoping to knock it into submission

    The Dire Crab do not care about no darkness. It does not care for the magical attempts. It just slams its claws against Xander, who is actually starting to get shoved back by its assault and making it hard for the Salamander to get an edge wise in.

Something Nureha has witnessed first hand with Xander.

But the curse any early level tank knows. It's hard to do much, when you are trying to hold the line.

    The Electrical attack that Reika does however, causes it to lock up and stuns it slightly, which is the opening that Xander needs, whose sword glows orange in color, with runes lining up the blade, before he aims it directly upward, trying to knock the dire crab up.

Instead though, that damn Dire Crab breaks from the stun to avoid the massive earth pillar that rises up goes to take both claws and tries to slam them down hard on Xander, who actually has to take a knee to hold the two, sharp pincers back. "... shit!" His knee slowly pushes into the sand, his teeth gritting tightly.

    Over with Crab one and two, Emiko manages to capture one of them and thanks to the burning walls, the other slowly vanishes into digital wisps of energy, giving out xp, more crab meat, and a few more copper coins!

This means all that is left, is the pesky Dire Crab that has Xander pinned down with full aggression and might be getting ready to do another water torrent attack; Giganpor might wanna get over there now and get himself a monster!

"I think that one is sufficiently tenderized." Nureha says, though in regards to Xander or the Dire Crab is unclear.

She uses Flame Shield, Arcane flashes of fire lashing out at the crab every time it connects with their tank as he attempts to hold it in place so that Giganpor could work on it.

She watches, the crab and its battered remains. "Well we managed it." she murmurered. She clung to her staff a moment. "Crabs are not easy to beat."

Emiko sighs with relief as the crab finally lifts the claws and is altered from wild to tamed on some menu. She doesn't instantly release the chain though, moving over to pet the thing between the eyes before looking at the group. "Eh... who wants a crab? I don't really need one... I mean... doesn't fit my team plans..."

    Giganpor hums, eyeing the crabs. Then he switches elementals back to Auris as he moves a hand, creating a glowing runic seal that he chunks like a frisbee at the one Emiko isn't targetting, "Auris! Flash!"

    Unfortunately, it's crabs. And the fairy-like elemental isn't very much help there. Even if he does blind it, the crab steps outside of the capture circle/trap. The were lion curses a bit, then sighs, "Dang it... okay, just kill it. Holy!"

Reika watches Xander having control over the crab, even with her stun it's not giving up though. Unfortunately Giganpor's attempt to take command of it failed, so not much else to do than finish it off. Wouldn't want Xander to be put in danger. She waits for an opening, and rushes in with her short swords, aiming to pierce between the harder pars of the shell "Fierce Stab!".

    The flame shield wraps around Xander, allowing him to start to get some leverage on the Dire Crab. He yells over to everyone, "Keep it up people! We got this!!" He'll thank Nureha later for this... after he maybe punches her shoulder.

Giganpor sadly fails at capture the Dire Crab, as it seems to be dead set not taking anything off anyone, and its forcing Xander to stay on his toes. Thankfully Elune's healing keeps the Salamander able to deal with it.

Giganpor then casts holy, which causes the Dire Crab to stagger, which gives Reika the opening she needs. So when she rushes in and goes to pierce through she does just that! She goes right through and once she is out the other side, it explodes giving out a nice some of xp, an actual silver coin, and more crab meat!

    Xander twirls his sword and looks over the group, to see how eveyone is. Including over to Emiko who doesn't seem to want their new crab buddy. "... Well, training here is done, so all we need to do is head back up the beach to where the NPCs are waiting and maybe you can see if they want your pet crab there." He admits.

"Or maybe you could offer it in a trade to another animal tamer for something else." He rubs the back of his neck, though he does turn to the group. "But seriously, you guys did an amazing job. You adapted quickly to a situation and thought on your feet instead of just waiting for hard orders."

Xander peers over to Nureha, "... Even if some thought it be wise to make things more... difficult for everyone." Then looks back at the others. "So! Who is ready for the turn in, get some coins, and maybe some actual food and drinks?"

Nureha smiles, saying only. "Something is always going to go wrong in any engagement."

Giganpor fails to capture the crab, but it does die well. She gives her portion of the crab meat and coins to him using the Trade system, keeping nothing for herself other than the XP the team gained jointly. "I'll pass on the food, thank you. I think you've all earned a rest, though. Go enjoy yourselves."

she bows to Xander and inclines her head before moving off down the beach.

Reika phews, sheathing back her swords. "Food would be nice if it tasted like anything." But need subsistence anyway, no going around it. "I'll go rest for a little while too, I'll see you all in town."She offers a bow and a smile to everyone present, thanking them for their time, including the 'teacher' Xander.

    Giganpor nods, smiling, "Congrats, kid. Go for it. Crabs are pretty good defensive pets from what I remember." He shrugs, "I'm gonna stick around. I want to see if I can capture a dire crab solo still."

"Well, if someone would have a fox, I'd trade. I mean... there's just something about their sounds, yes?" Emiko answers back to Xander, sighing as she watches the crab looking back at her, then the others.

"Or any of you wants? I mean, dibs on the loot or something..."

    Giganpor looks considerate, "Fox? Hm... fox summons..." He thinks for a moment, then snaps his fingers. "Ah ha. Northwest, I think. They're a lot harder than crabs, though, and tend to run."

    Xander listens to thw two talk, and rubs the back of his neck. "Tell you what Emiko. I'll see if any of the npcs are looking for a pet crab or something. Then one day when your not busy and I'm not helping train, sale, or push the Tower. I'll help you find a fox."

He smiles softly, "How does that sound?"

"Sure! It's a deal then. You take the crab now, and I get a fox that I don't have already later. Sounds like a fair deal, yes?" Emiko answers with a chuckle, picking the crab up to offer it to Xander.

"... Sounds like a deal." Xander says taking the crab. Unsure of what he might have just gotten himself involved in.
