Through the Eye of the Needle

Nureha continues her needling attempts to feel out crafters to 'Patron' into her burgdeoning crafter network.

There have been rumors, though constrained, that Nureha and Guild Hwyaden has been looking to patron new crafters. Today, it's not one of her representatives. As this isn't an official visit and those rumors very well might have been spread by her own people, Nureha wears the same tattered and unremarkable clothing as the caravan trip.

As such, she goes completely unremarked upon as she watches people enter and leave the Hunter's Guild.

She looks back and forth, her eyes scanning for something as she lounges in her chair against the wall, humming very faintly to herself as she does so.

Gwen has heard some rumours about what Plant Hwyaden has been up to. Gwen has been taking care of family or taking care of herding cats. Aka newbies who have no idea what they are doing. She mutters about the guild leadership who knows what they are up to right now. She's come to check the guild today for low end crafting jobs. Namely to help level grind her back up and not break the bank. The towering woman is just looking over the job board for the moment.

Nureha pushes herself up from the chair, brushing herself off as she walks over to the Job board herself. The staff in her hand taps lightly against the wooden boards as she examines it. "Mmmn" she growls softly under her breath.

"Exterminations.. investigations.. Arguments...." her eyes scan the board. "Still no crafting jobs above uncommon." she eyes Gwen, saying companionably."You'd think as hard as the Scale Alliance are going at it, they would be running through gear like candy."

Gwen pauses for a moment at Nureha she's a bit surprised to see someone so important and she nods "Yeah it's pretty crazy. Given how badly some of them seem to be losing it. I expect them to be screaming their own names and running in. I'm taking mostly lander jobs to offset my crafting costs for other projects. Though I never expected to see you here, I figure you were off cat herding."
Nureha

"I've had about enough cat herding for one night, I fear." Nureha says with a plaintive smile. She raises a hand, rubbing the base of one ear and down to her temple as though she had a headache. "Sometimes I need to verify things for myself. Something my scouts, bless them, can't really do for me." she turns back to the board.

"I didn't expect to see another crafter, really. We're still pretty rare with everyone turned towards the Tower or trying to find safety in levels or numbers. What specialty did you pick up?"
Gwen

Gwen says "I know how that is. Some times we need to heard our leadership. I can see that, not wanting just to be feed info all the time."

She laughs. "They get distracted by old good movies."

She finds some tailoring requests from one of the shops and will take that one off the board.

"Been a Maid since before, used to do a lot of glam sales. One of your people, Att was and likely will be again one of my biggest customers. Also poking at food as I'm sick of full hardcore Vegan or goop."
Nureha

Nureha snickers. "No real harm in that." Her expression becomes doleful. "..Those movies are memories of where we came from. It might be too disturbing if they were to fall to the wayside." She looks off to the side then refocuses. "..Maybe there is a way around the problems we've been having with the crafting system. My guild and I have been approaching specific crafters from a number of skillsets. Right now, that would be Alchemy, Cooking, Smithing and Tailoring. We hope that together, we might be able to do what we haven't been able to do separately. Would you be interested? We would certainly pay for your time and expertise." she looks towards the requests.

"Not as well as the guild, for now, but with the possibility of further advancement. Something, sadly." she gestures to the guild surroundings. "..Nobody seems able to match quite yet."

Gwen says "We could turn em into a play at some point maybe we have enough nerds who likely have some things memorized right?" She grabs another job off the board and she listens for a moment.

"Oh really that does have my attention. I'm having to kinda crash on some Lander's hospitality for things right now or just work in my Inn room on things. Look Proteus was making a strong push for me to get in the kitchen and fix the food issue. We need to regardless people are going to lose it over soggy soda crackers sooner rather than later.

"Keep talking you have my attention Lady Nureha."

"That's a good idea. Especially since we seem to be running a surfeit of bards right now." Nureha says to herself, as if making a mental note. "Walk with me. If Proteus has been leaning on you, then let me give you something in apology for their efforts. Everyone is getting desperate, you understand." as she walks, she explains her plans to create a generalized workshop in Alne. A place where they could all work and advance their crafts together. "I'm thinking about using the Miracle Network to get the raw materials together. At least in the beginning, while we're getting started. If not, we can still certainly fund the smaller costs ourselves."

She pauses, walking in silence for a minute or so to let what she's said sink in. "I need the help of everyone I can muster." she says honestly and frankly. "We certainly cannot do it all ourselves. The last time I tried to sew, the pieces caught on fire. Literal fire. Nearly singed off an eyebrow."

Gwen says "No I understand her desperation, even passable food could be a mental health issue." She grins a little bit.

"I'm one of its investors." She nods as she follows Nureha along seemingly thinking as she listens to Nurehal.

"It would be a good idea to use it, less political games than dealing with Lander merchant guilds, right? Wait you had it caught fire?" Gwen laughs "Never had that happen, but I'll have to keep eye on it."
Nureha

"Are you? And how are you finding the Miracle Network? I hope there haven't been any problems."

She evinces concern but quickly adds. "As for political games.. we'll have to see. The Lander's have their own laws and rules, certainly, but many are open about them. Players have no such restriction, even theorhetically."

She stops at a crossroads. "And I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't share that little tidbit. It was rather embarrassing." she smiles winningly, rubbing the back of her head with a rising blush. "So, what do you say? I can have a contract drawn up and sent to you, or I can answer any questions you may have."
Gwen

Gwen says "Yes I am, and it's been okay so far it's just got off the ground. Yet we got it off the ground, right? So we'll see where it goes it could be some good income for it to get a contract from your guild for materials."

She thinks for a moment.

"Share what I didn't hear a thing about it. I'm interested in it but what would your guild get out of me as such a deal would be a give and take relationship right?"
Nureha
Alne - Hunters Guild HQ

"I'll be honest with you." Nureha says with a coy smile. "Once people know how to make items again, there will be an enormous risk keeping that information secret. So, I'm hoping to avoid that." She curls a strand of hair.

"Once we discover the secret, we will announce it to the rest of the playerbase. Almost immediately, everyone will be scrambling for resources and recipes. Some will be desperate, and try to kidnap or bully crafters into working for them. Others will try to buy their way into power with gifts and sweetened words. Those in our employ keep the recipes they discover for themselves and are given the protection of a combat guild who often matches the tenacity of the Scale Alliance in exchange for giving Plant Hwyaden a portion of what is earned by their efforts. What they do with their talents and their recipes is none of our business. We just wish to carry out our promises of helping the area flourish."

Gwen says "Yeah it would get like a game Uther played when I was younger. Some Icelandic made space commerce game. It was cutthroat as hell, I hear you. This way those who make it get a cut and don't end up with a pile of trips to the Cathedral or worse."

this thinks for a moment and nods.

"Put everyone on the same footing, sure the big crafters will get to it as they aways to but the Marine Agency and the like will go to turn but they have always been like that. All right get the contact and let me read it over I think we have a deal here."
Nureha
Alne - Hunters Guild HQ

"I'll have one of my envoys reach out to you when it's ready." Nureha smiles. "As for Marine Agency and the other big crafting guilds well.. sometimes being that big means being too slow when the world changes around you. Thank you for hearing me out."

The conversation winds down from there. She makes her apologies soon afterwards and begins to leave. She stops, saying. "We'll also have to talk about that play idea, you and I. With so much going on, player events have gone to the wayside, as you can well understand. Maybe.. it's time to get them going again."
Gwen

Gwen says "Hey if there's one thing my guild's good at is it's organizing events. Our officers tend to get like children on the holidays about it's great. I'll float it when I can find where ever she's hiding as the rest are pretty busy with things we're still hobos at the moment after all."

Sh thinks for a moment.

"Sounds like a plan and if you need me give me a shout."

She offers Nureha a friend invite before she departs.
