Shiruba
Dun Loireag - The Peaks

The good news -- Being one of the capital cities and a ceter of trade to boot, Dun Loireag's markets have some better quality offerings.
The bad news -- It's also more expensive.
The other news -- Despite how tasty and exotic it looks street vendor food still -tastes- like bland cardboard. Normally this would be under More Bad News, but we're talking about Shiruba here. The seemingly one person that was able to actually stomach the taste of soggy crackers. Or maybe eat it fast enough to not taste it.

Though that's probably why at the moment she's munching on a piece of fruit instead. That still tastes reasonable. And doing the equivilent to window shopping, because she's still iffy on just how much she dares spend beyond keeping basic adventuring supplies stocked.

Gwen has been picking up food material and with that done? She needs to find a spot to make some actual foo andshe'lljut osmhow try to sneak up on Shiruba for a moment and grins.

"Grey Wolf needs real food badly?"

She grins "I'm going to make dinner would you like some too?"
Shiruba

Shiruba just lets out a soft sigh. "That's an old line to quote, even for you Gwen. And I'm silver, not a grey!"

Then finally turns her head to peer at the elf and her load of supplies. "... What's it going to cost me this time?"
Gwen
Dun Loireag - The Peaks

Gwen says "It's apt and classic Shiruba."

The towering woman note then she grins even more at her friend. "Cost? You enjoy the price anyway and I promise no flannel on this one..."
Shiruba
Dun Loireag - The Peaks

"I do not" The wolfgirl protests, ears splaying back for a moment. "... But not like I have a choice."

She deliberately takes the slowest bite possible to finish her fruit snack. Tosses the remains in a bin collecting refuse to make slop for feeding the pig-dog things. "Flannel hasn't even been invented yet, anyways. Fiiine, let's just do it so I can eat more than raw fruit. I'm part predator, I need proper meat!"
Gwen

Gwen quotes another old movie

"Just Walk away."

Gwen grins for a moment.

"Do you think it won't be invented by someone here?"

She looks to Shiruba for a moment again.

"So toasted meat sandwhiches with cheese."

SHe grins at Shiruba

"That soundgood?"
Shiruba
Dun Loireag - The Peaks

Shiruba squints a little. "Sounds good, but I'm not sure I want to know where they get milk to make cheese from. The only cows I've seen are Cait Sith, or Were Fang Minotaurs. And I definately don't want to consider the latter."
Gwen
Dun Loireag - The Peaks

Gwen says "I don't ask either best not to there are cows somewhere or something along those line we haven't explored that much." She'll start hunting for a spot where she can get a fire set up and get to cooking...
Shiruba

With all the interconnecting peaks and plateaus even Shiruba gets a bit sidetracked. Or maybe it's backtracked. Could be both. The point is it takes longer than average with the way The Peaks is laid out across several formation of lands before she finally finds an open space on one of the lower, lesser used platforms. "Don't accidentally burn anything down and I think this will do?" She shrugs, and sits down. Good enough for her.

Gwen is now getting to wor at this point they manage to fiond a place they can get to work and she'll get to work. She pulls materials out of her inventory and will get to work she also pulls out a mesh she'll put over the fire, then she goes to get a pan out.

"Yup."
Shiruba

Shiruba pulls out on her fire arrows and strikes it on the ground. One, two, three times before it finally gets enough elemental energy active to spark into flames around the head. Then hands it to Gwen to help with starting a fire. At least she can do that much. "So, any luck deciding on where you're going to get that shop built?"
Gwen
Dun Loireag - The Peaks

Gwen says "Yeah same city where Plant Duck is close enough to tower too, I could use a hand scorping things thing I got a spot but I'm going to need to get some people to be willing to move out. Likely pay them off to I'm not looking for a fight. Going to be adding a small food stall too!"

Gwen is beaming at this as she works. "I know some people are messed up by this, and it may be selfish but I don't want to go back to Earth, everything I care about is here."
Shiruba
Dun Loireag - The Peaks

"-You- don't want to go back?" Shiruba replies as she shoves the flaming arrow into the cooking fire. "At least you have family that actually cares about your interests... Granted, you have them here so you don't need to go back anyways, but that's besides the point. Why would I want to escape my own escapism?" The burning arrow is thrust into the air dramatically. "Denora can stay wherever she is right now. Shiruba is the one that's out to play!"
Gwen
Dun Loireag - The Peaks

Gwen says "You are here as well you know."

She notes in a rather serious tone too.

"Yeah I'm lucky like that and you know Uther and Morri have basically done the grand tradtion of adopting close family friends right? If people can leave with without us getting forced out or the plug pulled on us? I'll be happy to help them... otherwise? I just don't know I'm not sure I could take going back."

She admit and then she says "Jenny's done fornow there's just Gwen, right?"
Shiruba
Dun Loireag - The Peaks

"You know darn well what I meant," Shiruba replies, briefly sticking her tongue out playfully. "I mean, you just said the same thing basically." Followed by a laugh. "I think your parents sort of adopted me long before this happened, with how many times I've been dragged after the rest of you."
Gwen
Dun Loireag - The Peaks

Gwen says "Like on the camping trip." She laugh as she gets the food cooking and the sizel of the meat cooking can be heard also smelled. "Whatever is going to happen we don't have to worry too soon about it."
Shiruba
Dun Loireag - The Peaks

"Still could of done with a little less flannel." Shiruba mock grumbles, before smirking and giving her friend a light nudge in the side. "But at least I'm not the one that got caught up on a branch."
Gwen
Dun Loireag - The Peaks

Gwen looks at Shiruba for a moment and just. "You just had to play that card, didn't you?" She keeps cooking. "Yet who had to be saved from the 'dangerous' wild animal?"
Shiruba
Dun Loireag - The Peaks

"Any animal can be dangerous when you don't know what it is," Shiruba retorts.
Gwen
Dun Loireag - The Peaks

Gwen says "Oh come on Shiruba I had to deal with cougars bears and cyotes as a kid!"
Shiruba
Dun Loireag - The Peaks

"You forgot the 'oh my'." Shiruba idly tucks her tail in at her side so it doesn't get into the fire. Last thing they need is burnt dog hair. Almost as bad as wet dog hair. "Frankly I am perfectly fine being -away- from noisy crowded cities. And irrate businessmen trying to blame you for their coffee not being the exact temperature they wanted when they never gave a specific one in the first place." Pause. ".. I do miss the riceballs, though."
Gwen
Dun Loireag - The Peaks

Gwen says "I won't lie the big citys in Japan? Make me feel like i'm crammed into a coffin. I couldn't live like that long term, wonderful placeto cisi but I Prefered rural Japan, reminds me in many ways of home. As for the balls? Get me materials and you will get the balls."
Shiruba
Dun Loireag - The Peaks

Shiruba snorts softly. "Rice isn't easy to come by. Besides. You already reinvented dumplings!" Apparently that's better in her opinion. "You still haven't told me what I'm gonna be doing to repay you for this meal, either."
Gwen
Dun Loireag - The Peaks

Gwen says "Then we need to get people farming rice now don't we? It's like American cooking without beef chicken and pork."
Shiruba
Dun Loireag - The Peaks

"I am pretty sure there is rice farming, Gwen. It's more a matter of either finding where, or affording to buy it, with how wide the Dominion's reach for trade goods is." Shiruba wags a finger teasingly at the elf. "And you better not being trying to avoid telling me what you're up to!"
Gwen
Dun Loireag - The Peaks

Gwen says "Early products are going to be socks, small clothes, pants, shirts, sundressesand the like. I'll need to find water proof fabrics that are comfortab le but I have till summer."
Shiruba
Dun Loireag - The Peaks

Shiruba makes a bit of a face, but then sighs a little in acceptance. For as much as she skulks about it getting roped into her friend's antics is, honestly, a filler to an otherwise big gap in life things. She doesn't really have anyone -else- to run off and do Big Sister sort of shenanigans to get caught up in, after all. Snorts again. "At least I'm not gonna try to climb any trees in 'summer bathing' clothes." Nope, she's not letting that one go. Not when it's what limited ammo she has to tease back with.
Gwen

Gwen gwen "God Morri has pictures of it she threatns to giveit ot whomever I'm dating. Well that photo is a world away now!"
Gwen
Dun Loireag - The Peaks

Gwen Says "Oh the sanwhiches are done toasting..." She'll hadn Shiruba's hers "Now don't wolf it down..."
