Smolmodel

Gwen talked her into it. It wasn't *easy*, mind you, but Jazz agreed to help model some things for Gwen, and frankly, she is living to regret it. With her coat off and her full maid's outfit on full display (and oh my god it's cute and dorable and pink and how is she going to deal with summer) she is standing in the middle of the shop, waiting for Gwen to come out with the firt set of clothes she's going to have to disappear to try on. Gwen has been polite in not pushing too hardq, given her awareness of Jazz's circumstances, but she's small enoiugh to be a good model for a range of clothing that really ought to be looked at on someone.

She looks like she has no idea what to do with her hands, so she just awkwrdly wiggles her fingers at her sides.

Gwen had had a lot taken out to get Jazz to help and business has been going pretty well today all things. To Gwen's credit she is in a maid outfit today at the very least. Given she puts on a new costume every day she's working to keep things interesing at least it looks like she'll wear her own thing she looks to Jazz and grins.

"Don't worry you look great also I finished up something for you! Don't worry you will like it!" She seems to mean it too.

The maid costume Gwen is wearing just gets a sigh from Jazz. She'll never understand why this cosplay is so popular in Japan!

"A.. something... for me?" She asks, confused. Bewildered, even. "And okay. Well... ready... ready when you are." She puts her hands together behind her head, lacing her fingers together through her voluminous purple hair.

Gwen says "Yes!" She will hand Jazz a package it's brown paper in the package is a grey wool winter coat, nothing insane nothing crazy something very practical when all is said and done. She will wait for Jazz to open it but asks in the meantime.

"So have your head tentacles been having any issue with the cold?"

     The door to the front rings! Aaaand there is a maid coming inside. "H...hell...oh! ...Hello Jazuhanzu. ...Talking with the store owner?" She asks quietly, glancing towards Gwen. "...Can wait my turn..." She says under her breath, her ears shifting a little bit nervously. She takes a slow breath, before adding. "U-uhm... m-ma'am, w...when you're done w...with her... I-I would like t...to put in an armor order..." She shuffles awkwardly a bit as she says this, her eyes never quite meeting Gwen's face, mostly looking at her legs or feet, occasionally glancing up vaguely towards her face in an attempt to be polite but... well, clearly her social anxiety is winning out right now.

"You know, not really?" says Jazz, thoughtfully. "If I'm honest, I barely notice it. Then again, I'm an underwater species. Maybe we're cold-resistance." Or maybe she's gonna freeze her bits off and just not notice. She takes the package from her and begins to unwrap it, pulling the wool coat free. It's not fanciful. It's practical, and she seems to approve.

"You're right. I do like it. What'd I do, anyway?" She seems a bit confused as to WHY she's getting it. And then there's Pela.

She turns towards her, but doesn't spend long looking at her. It's more an acknowledgment of her presence than anything else. "'Ello, Pela," she offers, gently.

Gwen says "Ah I had wonder if you were having trouble with it. Part of it is pay for helping me out the other part is your always out with your guild exploring who knows what in weather like this." She grins and looks to Pela.

"Welcome to The Chain Mail Bikini +1 and is this a friend of yours Jaz? I'm Gwen Pendragon the owner of this shop. Armour? What sort mine are limited to what someone with tailoring can produce mind you. So what do you need if I can provide it I shall do so if I can't I have some contacts and can find you someone who can."

     Jazz finds herself with a Pela somewhat obfuscating herself behind her, though more of a slightly behind to the right kind of hiding rather than actually behind her. Just using the familiar person for strength probably! Or something, who knows what's going through the maid's head, really. She's silent as she listens to Gwen, giving a very slight nod here and there to show she's listening. "...Ah... maybe not then... was thinking... small metal plates... or chainmail type armor... maybe would have to commission metal pieces and bring them here to you to attach to outfit..?" She muses to herself thoughtfully, brushing her hands over her skirt thoughtfully. "...What kind of payment would you require?" She asks.

"It's true. I'll never know where I'm gonna be." Jazz reaches up and absently touches one of the twin tentacles that hang from her head and begin near her ears. They twitch in unison, even as she pats one. "These things are weird to have. I never quite ... anyway.." She glances over her shoulder back towards Pela.

She gets it, it seems, and says nothing. She looks back to GWen. "We've met," she offers. She doesn't volunteer anything more than that with an eye towards Pela's comfort.

Gwen says "For any thing I sell here? Gold coins what else would I charge. I do have a lot oc common thing like socks and the like." She notes with a grin and she thinks for a moment. "I heard of a smith named Giganpor who might be able to help you with that."

SHe looks to Jazz for a moment. "Yeah I'm like that with my wings..."

     "...Alliance members." Pela murmurs in addition to Jazz's comment about how they've met. "...Reliable, Jazuhanzu." She adds with a small nod. "...Friendly acquaintances?" She adds again, with a slightly questioning look towards Jazz. Seems she's mostly reverted to her standard 'simple answers and questions' method.

     "...Know Giganpor. ... He is ... Busy." She comments in response to Gwen. "...Hm. Still, will think on that. ...If there was a bakery, would you visit it often?" She asks somewhat randomly out of the blue.

"Extremely busy," remarks Jazz. "We're working to figure out brass together, since we're going to need it. Which means obtaining coppper. Which is easier said than done. I can't believe this is what I've got to spend my time doing." The undine's tentacles twitch as she lets out a breath and then brings her hands down together at her sides. A blink.

"..b..bakery?"

Gwen says "I have only met him once in passing, he's good from what I jknow."

She pauses for a moment and she thinks.

"Humm there's alwayus the network or the Plant's open workshop you coulf find someone there. As for bakery yes, I would. If they are making real food that is, I make some but it's a side business something to bring people in I admit."

"Oh Brass? That's like some high school metal shop really I'm certain we cna fins someone though any cloth or leather parts I can do."

She looks to Jazz and htinks for a moment. "We really need to get an merchant exchange set up..."

     "...Acquiring materials for things you desire, worth time spent on." Pela says with a simple nod towards Jazuhanzu. "...Gathering, I enjoy. Mining... not so good at." She adds, rubbing the back of her head. She doesn't have the skill for it with her classes, sadly. "...Yes... bakery. Just... a thought. Unsure if will do. ... Anxiety, not great for being shopkeep." She mumbles.

    A positive answer and a questioning answer. Hum. Good so far. Well then. "...Yes. Plant is good, have been enjoying interactions with so far." She says with a simple nod. "...Maybe will just go for little like... bakery stall instead of... y'know... brick and mortar... like this." She nods again. She seems to be gradually getting more comfortable, shifting out from behind Jazz. "...Suggest setting up exchanges with Landers too. Useful, knowledgable about things we would not think about." She muses a bit on that. "...Not because we are unintelligent. Because we are ignorant. Most of us grew up in city. Most of them in country."

"As far as I know, no one's tried to see if brass creation is modeled," explains Jazz to Gwen, "and copper is rare enough that it's hard to get your hands on it in a way you can use it for the sort of work we're going to be doing." She flicks her hair over her shoulder with a sigh, giving a nod towards Pela, and then a quiet, gentle offer. "Go a bit more niche. Not just a bakery. SOmething narrower. Specialty. Cupcakes. You can get really good at *one* thing a lot easier." She turns the coat she's holding over in her hands again.

Gwen says "Gathering well there's various fiber and such I'd need to make from plants."

She thinks for a moment.

"I do deal with landers for materials when I do. As for selling to them I'd not be able to keep up to the demand for the moment. I'd need to hire some more people later, then again that could be an idea you have there."

She think for a moment and she tilts her head.

"You presume I'm a city slicker."

She grins a little bit.

"Sweets the comfort food people would miss would be best like Jazz said."

     "...Of course. Simple things to start. ...Not cupcakes. Lacking ingredients." Pela replies to Jazz. "...Anyway, sorry for distraction from business. Was just random thought. May not do. May just bake randomly and share with friends or sell on side." She nods simply, musing on that a bit.
     The mention of fiber gets a slight smile from Pela and she gives a little nod. "...Even have a few ideas already of plants have already found for fibers. Though unsure how good it is for clothing." The mention of dealing with landers... she gives a small nod. "...Yeah... imagine Landers love quality things as much as adventurers. ... Anyway uh. ... Mmm." ... Hire some more people. Pela briefly seemed to be considering that point, but she seems to quickly decide against it. "...Yes. Sweets important. Found sugarcane, and there are sugar beets. Going to experiment with both. ...No vanilla found, yet, though. Cupcakes, unlikely."

"WEllllll," drawls Jazz, thoughtfully, "I mean, you're missing frosting. If you can unlock the riddle of delicious frosting, you'll be the most popu-- okay, I see why you might not want to investigate that." She puts a hand behind her head as she considers the answer from Pela. "Donuts?" She asks, tone wry, as her fingers play with the wool surface of the coat given to her. She slides it over her ridiculously cute maid's outfit.

Gwen says "Sugarcane nwo that is something that would intrest me."

She thinks for a moment as she thinks about this for a moment. "Sweet tooth huh Jazz?" She'll makle a note about that. "Those are pretty easy honesly humm I wonder Pela you have given me an idea. We will have to talk about such things though later."

     "Donuts, possible. More likely; pie. Or tarts. Other simple sweets. Maybe fruit cookies, but will be odd without vanilla in some cases." Pela responds to Jazu. "Setup for frying, not as easy, though." She adds.

     Hmm. Gwen is interested in sugar cane. She twitches her ears a bit and muses on that. She then reaches into her pack (opening her inventory) and pulls out a couple of pieces of sugar cane. "Here. For you to experiment. Still working on figuring out how to refine. Maybe you will have luck with." She says with a small nod. "...going to go back to scavenging now though. Jazz. When going for copper, let me know. Will help."

"Not ... really?" says Jazz to Gwen as she comments on her sweet tooth. "I'm just pontificating towards people's likes, and what people are likely to miss. Obvioiusly, cupcakes and donuts won't necessarily land the same way in Japan that they will elsewhere. It won't remind them of home as a place that focused on traditional japanese sweets but.. " She shrugs her shoulders. "Coffee jelly. God, I want coffee jelly..."

She pinches the bridge of her nose. "It was my favorite the first time I was around in Japan."
