Taking a breather

    It's evening and the fight with the goblins were hours ago. The group that's left stayed to keep a watch on things. one of those members is Wynfei he yawns a little bit. Rolling his shoulders a bit, Wynfei looks around to see how everyone is doing, who decided to stay.

    Xander is one such soul who has decided to stay. He has been leaning against a near by tree talking on his chimlink. Though when he comes back toward the camp, he doesn't seem overly-- thrilled.

If anything his eyes look distant; Maybe even troubled. As he walks back over, he looks over to Wynfei, "So far, seems pretty quiet. I have a feeling those goblins won't be back."

    Pulling up his UI, Wynfei notices he doesn't have any messages from anyone but Xander who asked him to join for this Goblin Raid. "This is my fault for that." he says more to himself. He hears footsteps approaching him.

    "I don't think they will be back, but it was good idea to stick around." he says to him. "You doing alright?" he asks.

    Xander shakes his head softly, "Honestly? No, but I'll manage." He says softly, before he goes to sit down in front of the campfire. "Life seems to-- like to remind me of things and it doesn't like me to forget it. Lets just say, being lucky isn't always a gift."

    He nods his head, "I see." he says to him. "Right now I know things are the best right now. Just know if you need to talk and get things off your chest let me know." he says to him.

    Wynfei looks around them, teh fire warms them and honestly having had time to think on his own and not be around many people Wynfei feels better about some things. "Lucky isn't a gift, but sometimes it does help Xander."

    "Yeah. More like a curse." Xander rumbles softly, as he throws a piece of tinder into the fire, helping it to remain a nice, warm blaze.

The Salamander closes his eyes. His jaw moves a little, before he at last says. "There isn't much to talk about," He opens his eyes once more and looks at Wynfei. "Besides, I am sure you have far more interesting stories. So, why not share a few!"

    A laugh escapes him, "I don't really." he says to him. "I've been keeping to myself honestly." he says to Xander. The monkey tail waving lazily behind him. "I've been alright about everything so far, but still it wears on you man." he say simply.

    "Yeah, it can." Xander agrees with Wynfei, "Which is why hope has to stay alive. Hope and-- finding something to /believe/ in. My trouble is the believing part." The Salamander admits. "Because I am at odds with myself."

    Turning and looking to Xander, "We all have to face that and we all have to truly believe in hope." he says to him. "Regardless of anything Xander, you have to find and believe in that hope. No one can tell you, you have to find it in you. And when things get hard, lean on those you trust."

    Xander chuckles lightly, "Hope and..Belief are, not always the same thing." He stare at the fire, as he goes to rest his arms across his knees. "Belief is finding something to /believe/ in. A reason to fight or to continue a struggle. This... empowering the reason to continue to /have/ hope."

The Salamander then closes his eyes. "My demons don't let me forget and while everyone has dreams to escape this place." His eyes open once more. "I have no desire to leave." His voice almost with no emotion. "I am fighting a battle for others. Not myself, because beyond this virtual world-- I have nothing."

Xander cuts a glance over to Wynfei. Those eyes still lacking any emotion in them. The light almost fully gone. "There are things I can't forget... and they are better to die with me. So if I can give people hope," He looks away, "Then that is what I do-- but I don't know how long even I can keep that up." The tank shakes his head, trying to smile, "But, as I said, better to talk about you then me. Nothing but death tends to follow my wake."

    Listening and honestly he knows these words well. "I know Xander. I've had to deal with that for most of my life before all of this." he says gesturing around them.

    "We all have something but I respect your wishes and hope if you ever feel like tlakign to me about this sometime, I would like to hear." he says as he looks to the Salamaander. The Cait Sith Monkey moves to the balls of his feet easily and he turns to face Xander. "I'm like you and wana to help the others as well, and maybe stay here myself, though leave and come back so to make sure my adoptive family is alright." he tells him. "As for my stories, not much to tell though within the game, I'd been waiting for this game to releasae and with all that's happened I'm still grateful to be here."

    Xander closes his eyes. He listens and he stays silent as he does. "Maybe... One day I will share." He then goes to scoot back a bit before he goes to lay down. "Anyways, I should get some rest. Wake me up in about two, three hours and I'll take over watch."

"Hopefully," He adds, "This continues to be a silent night and in the morning... I can go visit a friend... and get a drink... or three."

    Wynfei looks to Xander and he nods hsi head, "When you're ready to share, I will be here." Wynfei opens his UI and places a note within. Closing it up, he nods his head, "Alright, sleep." he tells him. Wynfei gets up and begins his watch and as he does he smiles a little, "When you go for that drink let me know I need one myself." he laughs and heads off to keep watch.
