Being A Foodie In An Isekai

All it took was one chimlink message from a friend that knows her very well of "Burgers open" and Shiruba practically made a beeline for the Marina as fast as she good. Fortunately she had not yet wandered off to one of the other continents yet.

Though upon walking in even the hungry wolfgirl has to stop and take a moment to admire the arrangements. "Wow. You'd never guess this use to be a warehouse." And the staff outfits!... Those are probably Gwen's doing. This is her Guild's HQ after all. Of course the decor doesn't distract her for long before she's also taking a whiff of the place with those canine senses. "... Certainly smells authentic."

    Yuuki is already here, happily sitting at the main counter. Well technically she's spinning. On those fun stools. While waiting for her order to show up. Before she runs off back to more monster slaying. It's hungry work. Plus...

    Yuuki stops spinning, her impish tail waving around behind her excitedly as she muses out loud, "This is going to be great. I don't think I've had a burger since I was in the mafia that one time!"

A petite figure comes in through the door, a gust of wind causing her long flowing granite grey hair to flutter around her black dress. As the door closes she looks around with dull red eyes and a slight frown, her thin veil only slightly shading her impassive face. After a moment she moves around the Cait Sith, Shiruba, that seems content to enjoy the aromas of the restaurant. Moving over to the single seating Seliana climbs up into one of the stools and carefully tucks her dress under her - legs dangling as she sits waiting for one of the waiters.

When she hears Yuuki commenting about being in the mafia she turns impassive eyes to inspect the imp. It was not someone she knew, but she watched that animated girl while she waited.

A new place to check out? Sure, why not.

BlackRose comes in soon after, flexing her muscles occasionally and smirking at those around her. She seems to be in a pretty good mood today, which isn't saying much but it is notable for some reason.

The staff are clad in outfits that just scream. Gwen had a hand in this and it isn't long before Gwen pops up in uniform before the group. She will have a freaking pad in hand somehow and quill.

"Welcome to Crescent Burger Yamatos only burger joint! What can I take you for?"

She's chipper as ever but she's also towering and it's darn hard to be cute, but lordy Gwen sure is trying to channel the power of Jazz and Uta today.

    It's the all too familiar and well-loved scent of grease and cooking meat that tempts her in. Miyako -was- on her way to look into booking a ship for the next leg of her trip - just passing through - but she'd been feeling a little restless and decided to take a walk through town. So on she goes... and finds /food/.

    It's been more than a month since she first got away from 'soggy rackers, your choice of shape and color', but good, properly-cooked food is still a little on the special side. So she swings by, spotting a familiar set of shoulders entering just moments before her, and grins.

    "Hey, Rosie. Hi Gwen." She catches a certain familiar Imp spinning about and waves to Yuuki as well. "I see I'm not alone in sharing a discerning taste, hmm?"

Those kind of stools always seem to be popular. Shiruba strolls up to claim one herself, snickering a bit. But then cants her head a bit. ".. Mafia?" Then after a few more moments. "What's the mafia?"

She for one doesn't jump when Gwen appears out of nowhere. Maybe those wolf ears heard her or something. Or maybe she's just use to Gwen's moods being her bestie. "I had a feeling you had a hand in those designs."

    Yuuki's wings twitch for a moment and she blinks, before looking around. She spots Seliana looking at her. Yuuki offers a smile in response, before looking the girl over for a moment and saying, "I love your outfit!"

    Yuuki's order quickly arrives though and she dives in to the burger with a bite. Followed by a satisfied groan of appreciation. She takes another bite, though her ears perk up as she hears a familiar voice. Turning to look over her shoulder towards the shop entrance, Yuuki frees up a hand to wave as she murmurs out, "Hweyah, Mwuahyoko!"

    Yuuki swallows her current bite to actually respond to Shiruba though, "They're like the American version of the Yakuza. Lots more shootouts and car chases though. An itallian food. But the occasional other American food join too. Was fun! Until all the betrayals and power plays. I kind of lost the plot after that point."

Recognizing Gwen, BlackRose gives a nod to her as well as to Yuuki, whom BlackRose has seen as well.

Then she turns to her friend and grins at her. "How is it we always turn up at the same places together?" She chuckles. "It must be luck I guess?" She stretches her arms over her head and then says, "I have to wonder what they have to offer here. Sounds like they got some nice stuff here."

Seliana cranes her neck to look up at Gwen, the woman looking enthusiastic with the influx of customers. "I will have whatever the most common meal is." Seliana orders in a monotone voice, her face not showing any additional expression as she speaks. Then seeing that Gwen was busy with other people's orders she looks back to the nearby conversation of Yuuki and Shiruba.

When Yuuki complements her outfit she looks down at herself looking at her hands a moment before looking back up, "I made it with the menu system." She says flatly, "I've been trying to make new ones by hand but its much harder. Do you make anything?" Her voice remaining constant to the point where the lack of inflection could confuse the question as a statement.

    "It -is- a nice dress," Miyako agrees with Yuuki, smiling lightly. "Good to see you again, too, kid. How's life treating you?"

    Blackrose gets an appreciative look and a nod from her. "I guess it's fate. Maybe she's trying to tell us something." She grins and reaches up to clap Blackrose on the shoulder. "Take advantage of it while we can, I guess."

    While she looks over the bill of fare, a thought strikes her, and she looks up and over to Gwen. "Hey, so, how's Nezumi-chan settling in?"

Shiruba ohs at the quick explaination. "So with more shooting and less honor. Got it." She sits on her own stool, turning a bit to wave to the other arrivals. "Come on in! How often do you get to experience a place while it's still brand new and freshly opened?"

Gwen says "Hello Myako, Shirba. Why yes it was the perfect chance to try something new and fitting in with the theme. Hello Yuuki! Good to see you here and Blackrose as well!" Gwen is about vibrating then again Shiruba would know how hard she despaired about the food. This has also given the guild a fairly major focus."

She'll twirl a bit to let Yuuki get a better look.

"Close enough, there was a pretty good series of offline games about them."

"So basic burger and fries? So Ketchup or Mayo with the fries?"

She'll asl Selina as she writes it down.

"We don't serve menu crafted food here. Right now it's kinda basic burgers, fries, shakes. We're working on hotdogs and a few other things. We do have a few things like dumplings as well."

    "Mmmmmmm... I'd say life is treating me okay right now. It probably learned its lesson after the last time I beat it into submission. Can't let it get you down!" Yuuki flashes Miyako a V before returning to food.

    Though when Seliana asks if Yuuki makes anything, she coughs for a moment before swallowing and then laughing sheepishly, "Ehehehehe." She rubs the back of her head, "I'm not that good at making things. Well. I guess you could say I'm good at making monsters dead?" But still, Yuuki smiles at Seliana, "Keep at it though! I'm sure you'll be able to make some great stuff in no time."

    Yuuki nods along in agreement with Shiruba. Though when Gwen speaks up about the games, Yuuki lights up, "Ohhhh? You played them too? I didn't like the driving that much. But the guns were fun. It's a shame we don't have any here... Though I think I prefer swords better anyway."

Smiling at Gwen, BlackRose then turns to look at Miyako and raises an eyebrow. "Do you really believe in fate?" She shrugs before getting an answer. "Not that it really matters, however we come together is the way we get together." She chuckles.

BlackRose looks at what they have on offer and hmmms a little.

Shiruba pauses to do a mock slow head turn towards Gwen. "You're the one that called me, Gwen. You know darn well I'm going to want the full 'experience'." She gives a toothy little grin after that. Before turning back to the rest of the ongoing conversation. "I'm more the exploring than the crafting type, myself."

As Gwen asks a few questions about her order she looks back up, "Yes. Ketchup. And I guess water too." Her dull eyes just blinking a few times as she responds. With her order completed she returns her gaze to Yuuki, "Making monsters dead? Probably about as useful as dresses." Which is a statement that could be taken quite a few ways. Then turning to Miyako, a familiar face, and with an inspection Seliana recalls the name, "Hello Miyako. Learning. How about you?" Then to Shiruba, "Where have you explored?" her voice and expression remaining steadfast and unchanged.

Looking over at the food preparation Seliana flips back her veil so that her face is fully exposed. Her skin having a sandy complexion. When hearing BlackRose's comment about fate she looks over, blinks a few times, but ends up remaining silent.

    "Right, then, two burgers with cheese, lettuce, ketchup, and can you do fried onions? If not, regular onions is fine. And a diet - er, a milkshake, I guess. And whatever Blackrose wants." Automatic ordering habits, get thou behind me. "Oh, and I'll try the dumplings too, why not?

    As for said worthy, she has to share a grin. "Of course I believe in Fate, Rosie. I believe in Nanoha, too." She winks at the pink-haired imp, then hops up on one of the spinny stools.

    "Mostly around Dun Loireag," she answers Seliana. "I'm on my way back to Eastal, got a friend looking into some stuff there, figured I'd go poke my nose in, see what needs poking."

"I'll take a burger with cheese, lettuce, tomato, and ketchup. Also a milkshake will be nice." She smiles at Miyako. "Standard fare I suppose?" She stretches her arms over her head before noticing how Seliana seemed to look over at her. "What's up?" She asks, seeming a bit intrigued.

Gwen says "Life is dumb it always wants another round at some point. When it comes to fate? I do not. I'm still glad to have met all of you. Wolf Lady wants her meat. Got it."

Gwen raises a brow at Seliana. She's working they are a customer she'll say nothing Only got and maybe Shiruba might have an idea of what's going through her mind. She jots down the orders. "We can indeed, wait onion rings! YES!"

She got another idea.

"Gun Loireage is a pretty nice place from what I saw of it."

Once she's sure she's got all the order she'll take off and call out turning them in.

A few of the other Crescent moon people whisper.

"It's like Henrietta had a sister... or a clone!"

"Shush she'll hear you and you'll end up trying out whatever mascot costume she cooks up later."

"Gods, you are right."

Gwen pokes her head in on the pair.

"Working well I hope?!"

"Yes! Ma'me everything is going great!"

Gwen clasps her hands together. making this sort of pleasing happy face you expect in an anime.

"Awesome!"



She places an order for herself as well as soon as her last order is delivered? She's finished her shift.

"... Wanna bet that she's short back on Earth?"

"I dunno, i mean she's not Japanese...so who the hell knows she could be even LARGER or actually body scanned."

Thankfully the pair are not overheard this time.

    "Someone's got to make those monsters dead! They won't do it themselves, after all. So yeah, I hope it's useful!" Yuuki chuckles in response to the oddly phrased statement.

    But that's when Yuuki notices the other girl's rather static expression. Even more so as Seliana pulls her veil back to reveal her face fully in order to eat.

    Yuuki leans over. She stares at Seliana thoughtfully. Then, after a short time of this, Yuuki smiles and says, "You should smile more. I bet you'd look pretty with a smile!"

    Her thoughts offered, Yuuki leans back and returns to her food.

"Mostly the areas around the Ninetails Dominion capital when I'm not over here," Shiruba replies to the query. "Still can't stray too far into higher level areas without being well prepared and a good party, but it's good for keeping tabs on things going on. Making sure the area stays safe for the various traders coming and going. That sort of thing."

Gwen might not overhear the pair but those wolf ears swivel in on it, and Shiruba has to keep herself from snickering too loudly in amusement. She knows the answers to those questions but she's not telling.... Mostly because she ends up the victim of Gwen's shenanigans enough without giving her reason to be vindictive about it.

Seliana watches Miyako as she explains where she has been exploring, her impassive expression could be considered patient though her slight frown mires this somewhat. Then BlackRose notices that Seliana was watching her while talking about fate, "Fate." Seliana says and the pauses a moment as her focus moves up above BlackRose's head and to the right before returning her focus to, the dullness of her eyes giving the appearance of tiredness. "Maybe there is fate. But if there is then maybe there shouldn't be." And for a flickering moment there is a faint red glow in her eye that quickly passes.

She watches quietly as Shiruba explains how she is keeping the tradeways safe. "Are the traders in that much danger?" She asks, but then Yuuki leans closer to inspect her. Seliana turns to return the gaze as Yuuki comments. She blinks a few times, perhaps processing the statement, and replies "You don't think I'm pretty?" She continues to look on at the imp with her static expression.

    Yuuki waves Seliana's question off with one of her fries, "Now now, I didn't say that. You definitely have the dark, mysterious beauty down rather well. Just saying though, if you added a smile to it-Not a big one, that is. I don't think that would be a good fit. But just a hint of one maybe? Like there's the tiniest glimmer of light in the darkness. I just think that'd look good on you! Not me, definitely. I couldn't pull it off." She takes a bite from her fry, before finishing, "I think you could though!"

Gwen returns with the orders sometime later setting them down, she does leave the bill early though given Japan she does not bring up anything about tipping. She knows that's not a thing in Japan or Yamato she grins. 5R
"Orders are done enjoy."

She will hand people their bills along with their orders too it's nothing too insane but Gwens guild may be making pretty good cash off this. Though it also means they will need to be supplied.

"You haven't told me much about the parts of the world you been to lately Shiruba and guess what my shift's over."

She notes as she joins the group with her own burger.

"Oh thank god..."

As Yuuki tries to clarify her statement Seliana just sits, staring with her dulls eyes blinking the only expression. When Yuuki finishes there is a slight pause before Seliana answers, "Ok." And that seems to be about all she has to say on it as she then watches her food arrive. Now with her order she carefully starts to nibble on the burger.

As some moments when there is a slight pause she looks up and asks, "Do any of you know much about the gods here?" and while her expression and voice remain as they have throughout the whole conversation she does seem to intently focus on each of those present.

Shiruba ticks off with her fingers. "Monsters, profiteers, competitor's trying to sabotage another's operations." She twitchs a moment, as that reminds her of a certain other former Duty boss. Good grief how many times did they have to beat that guy up before he got the hint. "Yup. The usual for a merchanitle based nation, really. Most of the rest of the Dominion has to transport it's goods to the capital for sale and shipping off, so it's always busy."

And then Gwen brings the food. Then joins them as well. "Yeah, you've been busy with your shop, and this, and who knows what else. We need to catch up some time." That's as far as the conversation gets before Shiruba is living up to her voracious reputation and digging right into the burger meal.

    Miyako takes her own order, stepping aside to let Blackrose get hers. "Thanks," she tells Gwen, "It smells delicious." She drops some coin on the bar to cover the bill for both of them, and heads for a more comfortable table seat close by the others.

    "I think Yuuki's got a point there, though. A -small- smile. The secretive, mysterious, I-know-something-you-desperately-want-to-beg-me-to-tell-you sort of smile. And yeah, she'd never get it, she's more of a big grin type. So am I." She grins, to demonstrate.

    And then stuffs that grin with a mouthful of burger. The nigh-ecstatic moan is followed by a series of muffled mumbles that might be 'this is soooooo good' (or might be 'I need a goat', who knows?). Finally she finishes the bite and swallows. "So," she asks Gwen. "Were you looking to part me from -all- of my cash today, or just most of it? Because I think I'm in love."

"That's... a good point," BlackRose says to Seliana, before taking her food and giving a polite thank you to Gwen before she takes a seat with Miyako. Unlike her friend, BlackRose takes smaller bites of her burger while stopping to use her napkin.

"Seems Miyako here has found a new place to call her favorite," BlackRose comments with a grin to Gwen. "I'm sure you could use the patronage though, right?"

Seeing that there is not much additional information about the gods Seliana turns to continue nibbling on her burger while she listens to the others converse. After having completed her burger she drinks some of the water and then seems to focus on the air in front of herself.

Indeed the starvation debuff is now gone. Mission accomplished.

Placing the correct coinage to pay on the counter she spins the stool part way around and looks down, then swings both her legs in unison a couple times she slidehops down out of the stool, landing with only the slightest of sound in her soft slippers. Her black dress bouncing with a wave at the impact. Then straightening up she smooths out her hair and carefully returns her veil to its original place. She turns to the others, "Bye." She says flatly without any hand gestures or additional emotive action, then she turns away and carefully makes her way out of the restaurant.

Gwen says "Sounds about right I should check things out there at some point see if I can make some deals there at some point." She thinks about her own allied kingdom? An idea forms in her head about that. She will consider that for a moment whjile she eats her food.

"Glad you like it!" She says with a grin then goes back to eating.

"We totally can use it, this helps with the guild's upkeep and training more cooks."

    "Yeah, anytime I'm in town I'll be dropping in here," Miyako agrees. "Unless someone opens up a pizza place, then all bets are off." She grins and winks at Gwen. Not /entirely/ serious, it seems. "But it has been faaaaaar too long since I had a good burger."

Shiruba would say something in agreement, but her mouth is full of burger and fries and she's doing her best to not drip everywhere besides.

Not that it's hard to tell she's enjoying it, as her tail has been wagging almost non-stop since she started eating.
