On The Road To Shibuya

Travelers independantly heading for Shibuya to assist in the NWA's clearing efforts meet at an inn along the way.

Evening, and the road to Shibuya wends its way past a Lander town. It's the edge of 'civilized' territory, with a fortified wall and guarded checkpoints at each gate. Spriggans, as is all too typical, get a wary eye, although it seems that 'being an adventurer' is a mostly free pass from suspicion.

Miyako arrived about half an hour ago, and made her way to the single inn the town boasts, travelers through the region having been few until recently. Not in any hurry, she's only just arrived a minute ago, and is waiting while the hostess serves a group of locals who're out for drinks tonight.

Spriggans may get scrutinized here, but being an adventurer apparently grants some leeway. Of course, keeping the acrobatics to herself is another thing Kotono does as she makes her way into the town. The girl is looking a bit winded as she arrives and decides to look for a place to rest. "I may be a Spriggan, but that shouldn't matter," She comments to herself as she makes her way to the inn.

Upon entering, she finds that it's fairly active, and the girl smiles a little as she leans against a wall to rest a little. "Don't feel like being seated just yet. Need a break from walking."

Miyako turns, looking towards the source of the voice, and a little smile appears. "Well, hello, neighbor." She takes a brief note of the Adventurer icon, but doesn't mention it. "Lovely day to be on the edge of the world, isn't it?"

It takes a minute or two more for the hostess to extricate herself from the party, and turn to the newly arrived pair. "Welcome, adventurers. Hope you've had a pleasant voyage. How can I help you today?"
Kotono

"Greetings to you as well," Kotono replies with a smile. She has seen Miyako in passing, but never had a chance to get acquainted really. The girl has been rather busy, but at the same time she's always eager to make new friends. If the smile on her face is any indication, that is. "It is quite a lovely day, isn't it?"

When the hostess appears, Kotono says, "Well... uh, I..." She pauses as she looks at Miyako, "I mean, we were looking to get a table or something?" She blushes a little, wishing she could sweatdrop.

Miyako nods, "Might as well." She remembers seeing the other girl a few times here and there, but can't bring her name to mind. "I was hoping we could get some dinner - no menu-stuff, please - and maybe try the local beer." She offers the hostess a few coins to get things started. "Let me know when that runs out, there's more where it came from."

The hostess nods and smiles, pocketing the coins. "Have a seat anywhere you like, then. No crowd tonight aside from that lot." She jerks a thumb at the drinkers, who seem to be the only other customers tonight.

Finding a seat in a nearby booth, Kotono gestures for Miyako to take a seat, most likely opposite her. At the same time she's leaning back a little and smiling. "Finally, feels good to sit down." She says with a look of relief. "All this walking does a number on you."

As she looks closer, she begins to realize that she does, in fact, recognize Miyako, albeit as an acquaintance of sorts.

"Flying would be nice," Miyako agrees, sliding into the booth across from Kotono. "We'll figure it out sooner or later." She stretches out, hands high above her head with fingers interlaced, before relaxing into her seat. "At least it hasn't been snowing or raining on us today."

She pauses for a moment, looking you over, then adds, "Know I've seen you around Silver Sword before... don't think I ever got your name? Miyako Blacklily, here."

"Those would make things a lot worse, I agree," Kotono replies as she tilts her neck from side to side a couple of times, loosening up a little. "Hopefully flying will become a real thing soon, indeed." A pause as she realizes that Miyako has a point. "Yeah, you have seen me. I'm Kotono Miyamura, but you can just call me Kotono." A smirk. "Pleased to meet you Miyako."

She looks at the menu seeing what they have to offer.

"Pleasure to meet you, Kotono. Headed for Shibuya, I assume?" She leans back into the corner, putting one leg up on the seat, stretching out again. "I hear the monster cleanup's going slowly. All hands on deck, as it were."

"I was heading there, yes," Kotono replies with a nod, frowning a little. "Problem is that it's a bit of a trip. Until they find a way for us to fly or something, I gotta make the trip on foot." She sighs a little as she proceeds to bring both of her legs up onto the seat briefly, before proceeding to sit criss-cross applesauce. "At least there are inns along the way." She smiles a little.

Miyako nods, sighing softly. "Yeah. Who knows, maybe somebody'll figure out what's up with the Chaos Gates, get -them- working. That'd be nice. Just walk downtown and teleport where you're going. No sweat, no muss, no fuss."

"Would be nice," the hostess adds as she sets down a tankard of beer in front of each spriggan, adding a plate of bread and cheese. "Not that a town this small'd ever get one. We'd have to hike it same as you." She shrugs. "Stew'll be up in a few minutes."

"I suppose we'll just have to bite the blade for now," Kotono says with a shrug, before giving a smile and a nod to the hostess before raising her tankard and saying, "Well, bottoms up I guess?" She chuckles as she takes a sip of the beer. "Hmm, not bad I suppose."

After that, Kotono takes some bread and cheese. "Fairly decent fare if I say so myself. Hopefully the lodgings will be just as nice as well."

Miyako nods, taking a sip of the beer to test it. "Hmm," she muses. "Not bad," she agrees, then adds, "Never been a big beer drinker, I always preferred soda. Not that we can get any here, yet." She shrugs and takes a bit of bread, spreading some of the soft cheese on it. "Been racking my brains to try to remember one of the old birch beer recipes, but I haven't managed it. Maybe we can get cider come fall."

"Cider, now that's something I haven't had in a while," Kotono comments as she eats some more of her bread and cheese. "It would be interesting to be having it here." She shrugs a little. "For now, I'm just glad that we have ways to eat and rest when we need it. I can't imagine being forced to travel such a long way without having any way to rest properly." She smiles at Miyako. "At least we finally get to meet for real."

"I like it a lot more than beer," Miyako says, after finishing a bite of the bread and cheese. "And yeah, camping out every night on a trip like this would suck hugely. Especially if we had to forage for supplies along the way." She considers for a moment, then adds, "I'd suck at it. Wouldn't have the slightest idea where to start."
Kotono
Shadow of Fort Ouph

"Yeah, anything's better than beer in my opinion." She shrugs. "But beggars can't be choosers. And yeah, I don't know the first thing about foraging." She chuckles then leans in closer. "Let's just hope setting up camp and foraging aren't anything they'll be adding to the game anytime soon!"
Miyako

"Well, never know, but things do seem to be pointing towards higher realism and integrating with the world, rather than the opposite. So long as I can carry what I need in Inventory, though, I'm not bothered /too/ much." Miyako shrugs, and takes another bite of bread and cheese.

"Well, for now, let's just enjoy our dinner and then enjoy what we can with our lodgings. I've found that my room usually has an interesting book or two to read." Kotono takes another sip of her beer. "And besides, we can get to know each other better perhaps? After all, we are guildmates so shouldn't we get to know each other?"
Miyako
Shadow of Fort Ouph

Miyako nods, "Sounds like a plan." She takes another sip of beer, then sighs softly. "Goddamnit, I would -kill- for a Coke right now." Perhaps fortunately, no one appears to offer her the opportunity.

"I hear you, I wouldn't mind one myself," Kotono comments. Just then the stew arrives, and Kotono gives a polite nod to the hostess. "Thank you very much," She says with a smile. "The stew looks mighty tasty I must say. Let's dig in!"
