Meet the Landers: Mac Anu Temple

Seliana visits the Temple in Mac Anu in order to get access to its Library, meeting the white robed ones there.

OOC: Short social intended for Seliana. Check in with her if you want to tag along.

Mac Anu - Temple of Law

The Temple of Law is a beautiful and massive structure, overlooking large portions of Mac Anu. It's far enough away from the main governing body to indicate its seperation from such things - at least on the surface. Beautiful structures and mysterious magics are at work, to ensure there's a constant ripple of water coming down along various 'valleys' cut out in the stone. The pale brickwork giving the idea of a pure place.

As Seliana, Proteus and Att Syne approach, they might notice from the occassional Inspect that this area doesn't really draw much in the way of Hunters or Adventurers. There's far more commoners here than anywhere else in Mac Anu.

As they approach the massive open gates of the Temple, they are welcomed by a foursome of women in white robes - wearing coifs - who bow their heads in respect to the ones approaching. "Welcome, weary Adventurers, to the Temple of Law." They speak in perfect unison, as if they spoke from a single mind. Except, their tone and voices are of course slightly different each.

They are not truly some hive mind construct. Just well practiced.

Still, they are also blocking easy entry at this time. "We are the Sisters of the Temple of Law. What might we do to aid you in your Quest?"
Proteus
Mac Anu - Temple of Law

Of course there aren't a large number of Adventurers here. They tend to not be... highly lawful in their behavior. Proteus is no exception in some cases, though she reserves her shenangians mostly for areas that are lawless. There's more than one reason why she used to be a devotee of Ezzo.

Not so much now. Hard to hang out there when the Ruin Continent is blocked off by a shield that destroys all it touches.

But that's neither here nor there at the moment. For now, Proteus is accompanying Seli and Att to the Temple. She sweeps in with her typical hooded and cloaked mysterious Imp motif, standing behind and a little to the side of Seliana, letting her take point. This is her quest after all. That said, that doesn't mean Proteus doesn't have questions and things to talk about on her own merits...

The Imp gives a short bow to the four women who speak in unison. Regimented. Practiced. Orderly. How lawful. "A pleasure to meet you, devoted of the Law." Proteus replies. "I am Proteus, an archaeologist seeking to learn more about the nature of our world. But I have not visited this Temple before. I wish to know more about the Law that you represent and what it means in terms of how it relates to the world around us. Do you catalog the Law of the Kingdoms, or do you represent some independent Law from some other source?"

Proteus will literally talk lore with a rock if given the opportunity, did you think she'd pass up the chance to interview these people?
Seliana
Mac Anu - Temple of Law

Seliana approaches the church wearing her new red and black frilly dress, her hair now a stark white color and tied back into a single ponytail that flows down along behind her. She watches impassively with ashen red eyes as the women bow and deliver their practiced greeting, inspecting each in turn. Once they have responded to Proteus she adds her own much briefer and pointed greeting in a flat monotone voice. "Hello Sisters. I am currently investigating some matters which I've learned may be available within your library. Would I be able to enter?" She currently sees no reason to divulge the nature of her research it seems.

As perhaps an afterthought she continues "Also I am currently investigating suppliers of paper or methods of mass production currently available. Our guild, Plant Hwyaden, has an interest in this product. Perhaps there would also be someone I could speak with who would be a specialist of such matter here at the temple?"

After she asks she is already attempting to look beyond the women into the interior of the temple, as if she may be able to glimpse something of the library from here despite the unlikelihood of it being anywhere near the entrance.
Att Syne
Mac Anu - Temple of Law

Att has to admit, the aqueducts are a pretty cool effect.

He got invited to come along when Seliana said she wanted to come out this way. She's got her own reasons for being here; he has... inklings. The beginnings of questions, percolating in his head. Similarly, Proteus might be a lore fiend, but Att isn't so much. He's more about making a mark than learning why the marks were there in the first place, except where practicality intersects. It's *neat*, but not his number one priority.

He's down-armored for walking to the temple. Black clothes edged in gold, a crimson shoulder cape, a staff in his hand and a folded cloth embroidered with their guild emblem where a sword would normally rest at his hip. There's a tool belt added in there, too, with a curious set of artisan's tools affixed. For an Adventurer, he doesn't look like he's ready for much adventure.

"Woah," he mutters. "Way weirder in person." Att clears his throat. "Uh, hello! I'm Att Syne, a sculptor. I was hoping to take a look around, maybe learn something about... 'those who came before.' If that means anything to you." He smiles, a little unsteadily. The synchronicity makes him expect sudden, simultaneous attacks.

"We do not catalogue, we merely serve the Law of Alba." The Sisters answer Proteus as she inquires about this matter. They look to Proteus, almost like they are confused something. Up until one of the girls prods another and points to Seliana.

There seems to be this realization. "Ah! You are the Adventurer we were waiting on. Seliana, is it not?" They inquire, considering her for a moment. "A Were Fang... white hair, and /that/ Tattoo, it must be." There's some nodding amongst them, before the foursome slightly step aside.

"You may go inside, but your friends must remain outside." They explain to Seliana, waiting for her to pass, while they turn to address Att Syne instead with a very simple, "We do not. Can you perhaps be a bit clearer, Adventurer?" They don't seem to play the Mysterious Verb & Noun game.

Then, to Proteus; "What in particular are you looking to learn? Know that we are but mere Sisters in Training, we only know as much as we've learned so far." One of the girls in particular remarks, a blonde with blue eyes.
Att Syne
Mac Anu - Temple of Law

"Fair enough," Att laughs. "I just finished a sculpture in Alne that I'm pretty happy with, but being satisfied with one work like that isn't my style. My Quest," he mimics their intonation a little to, you know, get the capital letter, "is to follow 'those who came before.' I think it means learning more about other great works, or Moonlight Sculptors. So I thought, in a place as gorgeous as this --" He says that part while spreading his arms and turning, grinning. "-- you might know something about it."

He glances at Seliana, then jerks his head towards the interior. "Go on ahead without us; we'll be here." He taps his ear twice with a finger. If something goes down, they'll hear about it.
Seliana
Mac Anu - Temple of Law

Seliana tilts her head slightly as she gazes at the women "These are a couple travelling companions of mine from the same guild. Would it not be possible for them to escort and assist me in my research? I'm sure it would be easier on me to have them with." she inquires in a steady flat voice. She then turns to glance at Proteus and Att Syne "Unless you would rather remain here to discuss things?" as Att seems to be fine with that possibility.

She looks back to the entrance and then back to her companions, clearly considering the situation despite her impassive face. Then looking back to the women. "Are there reasons that entrance is limited into the temple?"
Proteus
Mac Anu - Temple of Law

Proteus shrugs at the insistence that she remain outside. "That will be fine. I am sure we have much we can discuss while Seliana inquires within." She nods to her associate. "Good luck in there, all right?" She says. Att beats her to the punch in terms of reassuring her that they are in fact watching for any shenanigans that aren't created by Plant Duck themselves.

She does not, however, prevent Seliana from asking if she can bring her friends along. Proteus also supplies for their response, "I must have been mistaken, then. I heard that you kept records here once." She taps her chin, pondering for a moment. "But I am interested in hearing more about the Law of Alba. I don't believe I heard of it before. I know about the laws of the various kingdoms but not any kind of Law that circumscribes the entire world. Is there anything you can share about it?"
Liminality
Mac Anu - Temple of Law

"The Laws of Alba are many - which is why we do not record them. Instead, we internalize them - become aware of them." The blonde human answers Proteus. This is followed by the taller black haired one speaking - notably, she appears to be a Were Fang, if the tattoo peeking up from the tall collar of her dress is any tell. "You know the Laws of the World in some part as well, no doubt."

A third of the sister offers; "When a living entity, or Monster, dies, it shatters and returns to its origin - leaving a token behind."

The fourth adds, "Some people are better at coaxing the Monsters' energies, ensuring more consistent tokens."

Then the blonde jumps in; "Such is the Law of Alba. If something interfered with this process, we would have reason to act, to ensure things returned to its Lawful state."
Liminality
Mac Anu - Temple of Law

"You are the only one expected by the High Priestess. As such, you are the only one permitted inside." The blonde answers Seliana as she inquires. "You will not need an escort inside - as long as you do not break the Law." She adds onto that, before turning to Att Syne along with the rest of the Sisters.

Moonlight Sculptor. It doesn't seem like these ladies know what he is speaking of. "I am afraid that this Temple was built before the Seven Original races took ownership of it. We do not know the history of construction upon this place in such depth. If you seek the history to Sculptures and works of Art like this Temple, you may wish to instead speak to your fellow Imps." The oldest - or at least, tallest - of the Sisters explain to Att Syne.
Proteus
Mac Anu - Temple of Law

"Yes, I know how some of the way the world works." Proteus agrees, though she tilts her head slightly. "So you're saying that the tokens dropped are a result of being better at coaxing the energies of a monster? I thought that was mostly chance. There is always superstition, but you are saying there is an actual rhyme and reason to it?" Proteus glances over to Att, arching an eyebrow, and then back to the Four.

"It sounds like a lot of the ways the world works that I took for granted have some more specific meaning and design to them then I thought." Proteus sighs, and smiles self-depreciatingly, shaking her head. "So you protect the Law of Alba, ensuring that everything works the way it is 'supposed to', I presume. Even if you don't record them, you can speak about them, right? Is there anything you are allowed to share?"
Seliana
Mac Anu - Temple of Law

Seliana continues to gaze at the women, her companions may not be aware but she did not arrange her visit ahead of time, their familiarity with her is a surprise she seems to have taken in stride. She has spent a fair bit of time in other temples but this is her first visit to Mac Anu let alone the Temple of Law. Her stony expression not indicating any concern, but as she stares at the women while they discuss with Proteus and Att the dull red coloration of her eyes seems to fade until her irises are a pure white.

Her companions seeming content with the situation, Seliana comes to a decision as she steps forward, her long ponytail bobbing slightly as she steps. As she passes the threshold into the temple she stops and turns around to face them as her irises return to dull red. "I am unsure how long this will take, but I will be in touch." She then turns to the women again. "Thank you, Sisters" she says in her quiet somber voice before again continuing on further into the temple.
Att Syne
Mac Anu - Temple of Law

"Imps, huh..." Att scratches his chin. He's still vaguely bearded from his time hard at work on that statue. He hasn't decided if he likes it enough to keep it yet. "Good idea. Thanks!" He wouldn't have thought of that, and this saves him at least a day of wandering around town asking people weird questions and getting weirder looks. Unconcerned with the potential weird looks, he does give Seliana a quick thumbs-up past the sisters barring the way.

"Say, while we're here --" Att has a thought. It's never a good sign. "Immortal objects. That is, things that seemingly can't be damaged. Do you happen to know of any around? Seems kind of... Law-adjacent."
Liminality
Mac Anu - Temple of Law

"There is some we know - but we ask - what is it you want to learn?" Is said between three of them, while the blonde stays more quiet - looking at Seliana. After all, she seems to be doing something. Appraising them, Seliana will find that they are in fact... wearing clothes. Which is the only thing she can really appraise on the Sisters. Divination wise, she can tell that have a certain 'sense' to them she can not quite place yet, simply because she doesn't know what she is sensing about them.

"We are allowed to share that which we know." The Sisters then explain to Proteus. "Nothing we know is dangerous to the common person."

The blonde then turns around, when Seliana's eyes go back to normal.

The ladies then turn towards Att Syne as he speaks on Immortal Objects. "Immortal Objects are those protected by those that govern Alba, or those who've been vested power by those that govern Alba." They explain. "While called Immortal, there are those with dangerous Law-Breaking powers that can eradicate their Immortalness." One of them speaks. "It is those we protect this world against."

"Indeed, only Protected from regular expressions of one's power."

With Seliana following further into the Temple, she steps through an area filled with water. Fish swimming through the area in man-made 'lakes' on various side to her as the path leads her deeper, until she passes through a set of beautiful azure doors, and is welcomed by...

The High Prietess. Taller than the sisters by quite a bit, and definitely Undine, based on the subtle show of blue scales and gills near her neck. Notably it is impossible to see her eyes, due to a black blindfold she appears to be wearing.

"Come forward my child." The woman offers amidst a larger chamber - which is like a garden within the Temple - from which many more doors fork out.
Seliana
Mac Anu - Temple of Law

Carefully walking along the path forward she looks over into the constructed lakes, the steady frown on her face remaining unchanged by the beauty of the temple. As she nears the elaborate azure doors her focus shifts entirely to the tall Undine with the black blindfold. Having made little to no noise as she walked in her slippers it is clear this individual has senses beyond that of mere sight as she greets Seliana.

Continuing forward Seliana's irises once again fade to white as she gazes at woman. During her inspection she learns this woman is Aya Endo, and the icons seem to indicate she is a Lander.

As she nears the Undine she responds. "Hello Aya Endo. I am Seliana, but it seems you are well aware of both that and my plan to visit this temple." Seeing that this appears to be the High Priestess of the temple Seliana goes into a bit more detail about her intentions. "I come seeking answers to questions that few have any reliable information about. Notably I seek to learn about the afterlife and death, or what happens for those that die permanently compared to us who seem to revive. I have other questions surrounding this, but so far I have found little except suggestions that there are libraries here which may hold answers. Are you able to provide me any information or access to your library to research this further?"

She also seeks information on paper production, but with the possibility of some answers to her main goal she seems to have set this secondary task aside for a later time.
Att Syne
Mac Anu - Temple of Law

"So then one would have to have some kind of Law-Breaking power in order to interact with them as anything other than a static piece of the world," Att thinks aloud. "Which... sheesh. You know, I was kind of hoping there would be a lawful way to sort of -- align oneself with it for non-destructive interaction. Like area spells ignoring party members in their blast radius. That kind of thing." He scratches at his beard again. Is it the questions that make it irritatingly itchy?

"Are they related to the strange monsters we've seen? Maybe you heard about the indestructible ones in Ezzo a few months ago. Having a way to do something about them," Att says, pointedly not bringing up a power used by one particularly surly member of the guild, "would be wonderful. There are plenty of people still at risk while they can appear and be allowed to go untouched."

The woman moves her head, easily following Seliana's motions, even smiling when her eyes change. It certainly seems like miss Endo can see far more than normal logic would dictate her capable of. Her hands are down along her belly, and she stands with a powerful posture. Tall and very much upright.

"I sensed your curiousity from far away." She begins, as Seliana poses her questions. "It is no secret that Adventurers are special, and not of this world. Their secrets of Immortality are not known to me. But I can speak to you of our own mortality." She expresses.

"When we die, our energies return to the world, much as the common beasts and the monsters. That energy is then eventually given new purpose in a different form, when it gets re-used by Alba." She explains to Seliana. "What about our death has you so curious? From my understanding, death is no stranger to the Adventurers in the World they herald from."

---

Outside, the Sisters nod as Att thinks out loud. "That which is kept Immortal by the world is kept so by Law. To breach it of course means to ignore this Law." They speak in a rather simple way on the matter. As if this 'Law' is some kind of 'one truth' of the world.

They then look amongst eachother, then back to Att Syne. "We heard about indestructable monsters before. But they rarely survive for long. If they are given such power outside of Law, then eventually, that protection will surely fade. And they will be destroyed." One of them proposes.

"But those creatures have never come to us." The blonde then adds.
Proteus
Mac Anu - Temple of Law

"Thank you." Proteus says, smiling. "So can you explain the basic Laws of Alba? I want to know what the principles are that govern the Law. How does it shapes the function of the world and why are the Laws what they are? Who determined those Laws in the first place?"

If there is anything Proteus wants to say in regards to their answer on Immortal Objects, Proteus doesn't give any. "If you need something in specific, are there any Laws that govern the function of the Chaos Gates and nature of the writing upon them?" She nods to Att as well. He's covering a lot of other useful questions.
Seliana
Mac Anu - Temple of Law

Seliana continues to gaze up at the tall woman "It is true that death is a part of our World, but it is often considered a mystery as to what is beyond that. Here it is possible for one to die but it is not always consistent. Some can become undead while others can become spirits or ghosts. This transformation aligns with myths of my World about having some essence that persists after death. So does true death for a Lander mean they are truly gone? Or is there something that lasts and goes somewhere else? Is it possible to communicate with those who are gone?"

Seliana looks around briefly as she considers if there is somewhere comfortable she can sit as they discuss. "Is there any trace of a Lander left when they are transformed into a monster after death? Would it be possible to return them to their former self? Or would having the blood of a monster in you, such as a Were Fang does, alter any core essence or soul of the individual?"

As she asks her questions a notebook suddenly appears in her hand from her inventory, and a moment after the book is opened an antiquated pen appears in her other hand. It appears that she may take some notes as she discusses.

"Undead are created through Magic. When a Lander perishes, some of us remain for a little longer than others. Evil entities in this world have the ability to Corrupt those energies at that time, changing them and molding them into something else. Turning them into Undead and reshaping them." The High Priestess explains. "But if you are asking for the term you Adventurers have used in the past, called a 'Soul'... I do not know. Though I have communicated with those who are dead before... though they are always confused, and their experiences rarely meet up with reality."

She looks to Seliana for a bit, before she adds; "You perhaps have the ability to one day communicate with them like I do... but right now, you lack the qualifications. You have not made enough of an impression upon Alba yet."

There isn't really anywhere to sit. And it looks like Seliana is kept standing perhaps specifically because this way, the High Priestess can cut the conversation short more easily, when she needs to abandon this conversation.

"I've heard of certain kinds - Spirits and Undead - to hold onto some of their personality and thoughts after they are warped and corrupted. But those are rare, and require very special Landers, I'm sure." The High Priestess continues to explain. "As for the Were Fangs... yes, the Were Fang Landers are changed by that act - often informed by their Monsterous side. The same for the Cait Sith. Though I believe the Adventurers do not suffer this same fate. Though I do not know why."

----

"We... don't know the origin of the Laws. Only their presence. It is said that the Laws were born when Alba was born. But obviously... we do not truly know." The Sisters answers Proteus. "The basic Laws of Alba are all around one singular one... Energy is not infinite. Everything draws from something, or someone. Though we do know that new Energy flows into this world by some means." They nod amongst eachother.

They then look back to Proteus. "We learned the Laws through Witnessing them." They explain. "As for what you Adventurers call the 'Chaos Gates'... we do not know. It was not created by the Seven Original Races. Landers have no used them. So we do not know."
Att Syne
Mac Anu - Temple of Law

Att isn't super satisfied with the idea of a monster just eventually becoming vulnerable. That hasn't been the case so far, and he doesn't have any expectation that it would be in the future. "Alright. Thanks again."

He starts to turn away, then, looking up and around. After a moment, he glances at Proteus. "Maybe we should find another archaeologist," he suggests, "or a linguist?"
Proteus
Mac Anu - Temple of Law

The answers cause Proteus to squint for a moment, but she nods. "I see. Very mysterious indeed. I suppose that wouldn't be something that everyone in your order would be privy to if anyone." She glances over to Att. "I'll have to look into it later. I've been making some inroads." Well, she might be exaggerating slightly as to her progress, but it's more than nothing.

In the meantime... "You speak of Laws that are part of the natural order of the world. I have to ask something important." Proteus closes her eyes, folding her arms as she tilts her head downwards, focusing on what she says next. "The purple clouds that spiral... They are called the Wave of Calamity. Is it really the people climbing the Tower that are causing them to happen? Is it part of the Law that we are being invaded by Heroes of other realms with these Waves, as they seek to kill the Heroes of Alba? Is it true that if the Heroes are slain that the world will be destroyed?"
Seliana
Mac Anu - Temple of Law

As the High Priestess explains Seliana writes, her book propped open along her one arm and hand. "So you are able to communicate to some degree with those Landers who have already died? This would suggest that there is some portion that does continue to exist, doesn't it? Do you have any description for what it is you talk with? Is it simple the energy of the Lander?"

Through this so far she has mostly been listening and looking at her book as she writes, at least that is until there is mention that she could gain the ability the High Priestess has. Looking back up at the Undine she wonders aloud in her monotone voice "What are the qualifications then? How does one make an impression upon Alba?"

As the conversation returns to the Landers Seliana continues to scribble notes in her book. "So Lander Were Fang can receive information from their monstrous blood? Is it like a link to the Monstrous Ones?"

Seliana then takes a turn of the conversation towards something perhaps more commonly discussed in the temple "We have found that there are individuals who have bonded or gained power from the Goddesses, is this something know or does their exist a process around it? And what is it the Goddesses themselves seek to accomplish? Why do they act only subtly towards their goals?
Liminality
Mac Anu - Temple of Law

"I can't really describe that easily in a way you'd understand without witnessing it yourself, I think... but I can not describe what it is. Just that I can." The High Priestess answers Seliana. She then proceeds to explain, "I can't speak of the qualifications /exactly/ - it isn't a checklist. But the rare few people with that gift have made contact with many Landers in Yamato. They don't need to be of particular renown... but they need to have made connections." She explains.

She then shakes her head as she asks about the Monstrous Ones. "I do not know." She explains. "That isn't something I have studied." She remarks. As Seliana then talks of people who have bonded with the Goddesses, she falls quiet for a moment.

"I... do not know what the Goddesses seek. I only know of the Laws of Alba. But bonding with the Goddesses isn't something I can discuss with an outsider. Not to someone who lacks the qualifications. You would need to be a part of our order, and for a significantly extended period of time." She explains.

----

"... we don't know." It's that simple of an answer for Proteus. "They did not exist before the Dark Wave went over the world and trapped your people here though. We have no reason to believe it's anything but a new Law introduced... but we do not know what that Law is, or why it is there." They answer him.

They also don't seem to really know anything about the Hero matter. "I don't think all the Heroes have ever been dead at the same time. But the moment you kill a Hero, a new one is born." The Blonde does point out.
Seliana
Mac Anu - Temple of Law

Pausing in her writing she whispers to herself "Connections?" again then looks up at the Undine with her ashen eyes. "Would there be more information in the library regarding this or the Monstrous Ones? From what I've learned it seems there may be Lander Heroes from another world that are coming here and cooperating with the monsters. There was suggestion that it is possible they were also helping towards a ritual to one of the Monstrous Ones in the Ninetails Dominion, but it was disrupted before more information could be gathered. More information could prove very valuable."

Tilting her head slightly she asks "What is it your order does? It would seem you seek to understand the Laws of Alba? But what does it entail? And how do the Law relate to the Goddesses?" She considers something a moment and then continues "You, right now, seem to be a mirror of the Blind One as you wear your eye covering. Why do you wear it?" She asks in her steady quiet voice, her directness perhaps apparent.
Seliana
Mac Anu - Temple of Law

As an afterthought she asks about the paper "Before I forget, I am also seeking to learn more how paper is mass produced or to find suppliers of it for the Plant Hwyaden guild. I had learned that methods were developed her and I was hoping to learn of them or possibly open negotiations to acquire it. Is that something I could learn more about here or discuss with you?"
Liminality
Mac Anu - Temple of Law

"That's highly concerning - I've never heard of 'heroes from another world'. Let alone ones that cooperate with Monsters." She explains to Seliana. "As for the Monsterous ones, I am afraid we don't know much about them. But if you perhaps bring some of their Trinkets to us from a Monster Lair - I can look into this." The woman answers her.

"As for the library. I can give you access to it - if you are willing to become a member of the Temple of Law." She explains to Seliana. "We seek to understand the Laws of Alba. But also to enforce it. To stop those who would corrupt the laws for their own benefit." The woman explains to her, before bringing her hands up towards the back of the blindfold.

She slowly removes it, revealing... pale white eyes, and viscious scars around that region. "I wear it because it's more tasteful than to show this." She remarks. Clearly, she's blind. The Blind Fold goes on again. "The Law relates to the Goddesses, for they are an expression of the Law. Or... the Law is an Expression of their will. We do not know for certain. But they are intertwined."

A pause. "Perhaps negotiations over paper can wait while you consider my offer - and another visit."
Proteus
Mac Anu - Temple of Law

Proteus deflates slightly, an expression of disappointment on her face as if she expected this to happen. "I guess it won't be that easy to discover the nature of the thing." She shakes her head. "That said, if the Heroes just keep coming back... Then her goal is pointless in the first place." Proteus rubs her chin, pondering. "I feel like I'm missing something. I can see the edges, but there's too much missing in between to connect it together."

She turns back to the priestesses. "Are there people who break the Law? How does one identify such people? Is there anything in particular we should be wary of?"
Liminality
Mac Anu - Temple of Law

One of the Sisters answers Proteus, upon her asking about the Law. "We are taught here to recognize when the Law is broken. I believe some of you Adventurers are able to use this ability innately." She answers Proteus. "But usually, you can tell because the world ends up looking... wrong."

They can't explain it better. But Proteus can probably tell by their expressions that this is because they've not actually experienced this themselves yet.
Seliana
Mac Anu - Temple of Law

"I will have to discuss with the rest of my guild, I think we may have come across something related to the Monstrous Ones before but I'm not certain." Then suddenly the book and pen vanish as they are returned to her inventory and she lets her arms down to rest at her sides as she gazes impassively at Aya Endo, the High Priestess that has suddenly offered her a position in the Temple of Law.

Seliana is silent for a few moments, her features remaining static as she stands there considering. "This is something I think I will need to learn more about before I can make a decision." She finally says.

She looks on impassively as the Undine reveals her eyes and then covers them once more and continues on. "So it seems following the Goddesses is similar to following the Laws? Or at least they are intertwined enough to not be distinguishable." Seliana then considers once again in silence. "I would like some time to contemplate what has been discussed here. Another visit would be appreciated." She finally concludes.

The woman nods her head. "Of course." She remarks. "I will know when you wish to visit." She then adds to that, before she steps back a little. "Fare well, Seliana." She remarks, before turning and starting to head on out towards one of the many doors. "Farewell." She simply remarks, before heading through said door, and leaving Seliana alone - to retreat on her own accord.
Proteus
Mac Anu - Temple of Law

Proteus continues to look disappointed. "I suppose it couldn't be helped." She says, shrugging. "You are doing your best. I appreciate your efforts to continue to help maintain the order of the world. I suppose I am at the end of the questions I would ask of you all." Proteus says. "I will continue my research elsewhere." The Imp looks to Att, and then steps back from the entrance of the Temple, leaning to one side to wait for Seliana. Idly, she flicks a hand out and checks her friends list, perhaps looking to see if someone specific is still showing online. Specifically, a lazy guy in another world.
Seliana
Mac Anu - Temple of Law

"Farewell, Aya." Seliana replies to the now empty room before she too turns and heads back the way she came, admiring the beauty of the temple once again with her slight frown. As she exits out of the entrance, she again rejoins her companions. "That was.. Interesting" She comments to them when she approaches.

After passing them once again Seliana turns to the women at the gate and bids them farewell before she looks to Att and Proteus to see if they are also ready to depart.
Proteus
Mac Anu - Temple of Law

Well, he's online. Proteus brings a hand up to the side of her head and tries to Chimlink Kyo.

<< Hey. You out there, lazybones? I just had something pointed out about that Hero thing. Does Glass know that every time a Hero is killed, a new one is immediately born? Don't know if it works like that in your world or not, but doesn't that make her efforts here kind of pointless? >>
