There is one table in the resturant with enough food on it for maybe three people. Yet there is currently only one blonde haired Salamander sitting at it, alternating between burger, fries, onion rings, and whatever else she was able to fit into the orders. Hey, construction work on top of martial arts practice is time and energy consuming!

She's also sampling to make sure she doesn't accidentally copycat anything for her own place. Or at least that's her semi-valid excuse.

    "Veeeert?" A familiar voice sounds out from nearby. And when Vert turns to look, just besides the table is, all of a sudden, a very much familiar red-haired Salamander. Leaned over slightly with his hands clasped together behind the small of his back, eyes glittering faintly while they sweep over the food on the table. "I wasn't expecting to see you here, I'm gonna be honest. But you're just as hungry as I am it looks like~."

Vertina pauses mid-bite when she hears the familiar voice. "Hi Atif. Help yourself." Motions at the table of food with a bob of her head. "Hey, building is hard work... But I maybe overdid it a leeeettle bit seeing the options."

    "I wasn't judging!" Atif assures with a brief rumble of laughter, quick to bring himself sliding over and sitting down besides her. "You have food like this before? It was the first time for me when I came here. There wasn't really much in the way of western-style restaurants around where I lived... at least not in the kind of travel distance that was worth going out of our way to get to with our budgets."

Vertina rolls her shoulders in a shrug of sorts while she's eating, because she can't properly talk until she's chewed and swallowed. "We had a lot of tourists at my family's place in the real world, so sometimes had more western fair for those feeling homesick. Or not comfortable with Japanese cuisine, for whatever reason." Another shrug. "It's not ALL raw, the goofballs."

    "I mean, to be fair, some of the barbeque stuff isn't too dissimiliar to our grilled meats, but I sure never had a burger before," Atif admits with an akward little chuckle, while he snatches some fries to between his scaled fingers. "At least Goldenblade was here to help me not make a complete fool of myself because I had never *held* a burger before..."

"Yeah. Americans eat a -lot- of food with their hands, apparently." Vertina reaches over to snatch a couple of onion rings before she resumes working on the burger. "Since I'm going more for a bar feel, I probably won't have full meals like this save special occasions. More of the foods people snack on while drinking so the alcohol doesn't hit them so hard. Or fast."

    "I wouldn't know what that's like," confesses Atif with a low cough after chomping down an onion ring whole. "But I imagine you already figured out I had never been to any bar with how little experience I had with alcohol in the first place... so you know."

Vertina chuckles a little and reachs over to pat Atif's shoulder. "Don't worry, I'll have tea and other non-alcoholic drinks for the people that don't or can't handle the strong stuff."

    "H-hey now, I can handle it a little better now at least!" Atif protests, even if his lips are curved into a bit of a wry smile there. "Not that I'm not happy about having tea available too, mind you..."

"If I want to attract patrons I need to offer to those that may accompany friends but not want to drink heavily themselves, after all." Vertina stares off at the ceiling for a moment. "I wonder how many people in here with us actually know who Syx is. I should get him to sign something to hang on the wall." Followed by a shrug and she resumes eating.

    "That's fair," Atif allows with a quick nod of his head, pausing just to shove some more fries into his mouth. "Mmmfff. I might not have much knowledge in terms of running businesses or anything, but that makes sense to me."
    Another mouthful of fries, before he gives a curious look to Vertina's latter words. "Who now?"

Vertina laughs a bit at the response. " 'Triple Syx'. Professional wrestler." Probably not a surprise the tomboy would be into other 'macho' sports besides football. "Yeah, at first I too thought 'why would a big famous guy like that be kicking around ETO on new years eve to get stuck here?'. Thought it was just a fan trying to mimic is look and style." She pauses, lowering her food a bit and leaning a little closer pretending like it was a big secret because that's what you do when talking about celebs right? "But the other day, during a Duty? I saw him bumrush a hobgoblins and suplex the sucker in a manner than only the real deal could pull off."
