Outside Crescent Burger

Goldenblade is hanging outside the Crescent Burger, a bit later, sipping water from a leather canteen and relaxing a bit. She's drawing on her palm with a fingertip, apparently planning something out. A yawn escapes her lips, but her expression is intent in concentration.

    Setsuna seems to almost absently wonders through the people still trying to do any shopping or anything before the day ends and the shops close, Setsuna himself looking sliightly perplexed as he keeps looking into thin air, or perhaps at his own menu as he continues to wonder around. He stops infront of the crescent burger again before moves to one the police staff on duty, " Excuse me, do you know what time the boat to Dun Loireag departs? Perhaps even just the quickest way back to the port? " The watch member looks him up and down a moment before saying, " What do I look like a map. Find it yourself." Setsuna shakes his head and begins to wonder back and forth infront of the crescent burger. " I really should have bought a map."
    Turning back and forth he catches the sight of one of the ladies he met earlier. "Um excuse me, GoldenSword right? " He says as he approaches GoldenBlade, " Do you know how to get to the port from here ? I keep seeming to end up coming back to where I started."

Goldenblade hears a familiar voice, looks over to see Setsuna's information gathering failure. When he calls out to her, she corrects him, "Goldenblade, and yeah. Sort of." She looks around thoughtfully, then points to the east. "If you go that way, you'll evenutally find yourself swimming. Before you're in the water, there'll be piers and boats. I don't remember which is which, to be honest, I'm almost always wandering with no destination, or else following someone. I don't get around well, either."

    Setsuna rubs the back of his head sheepishly, "Right GoldenBlade. Sorry I'll get that right next time I'm sure. " He says witha smile and then looks in the direction GoldenBlade is pointing to, and mutters to himself, "I swear I went that way." He turns back to look west for a moment and then back to the east. " Well if you say so. I assume you're a resident around here as you seem to know all the local hot spots. " He comments as he looks at the woman, "So just sitting out here now after lunch? You strike me as a much more active type. "

Goldenblade snorts at being accused of knowing her way around. "Ah, I get lost all the time," she insists. "The boats and this place are like the one place I can find." As to being active, she says, "You're not wrong. I don't sit still well. But if I go fighting monsters right after I ate, it could be bad. For the same reason you wait half an hour after eating before you get in the pool. Anyhow, I'm trying to plan out some of my upcoming stuff, and I can do that here as well as anyplace."

    Setsuna nods his head , " Yeah I can find my way once I get use to a location but I am certainly not there when it comes to this area, I have tricks for outside town but they get mad if you start magic casting in the middle of town, and infront of an alliance hall would be a death wish. " He chuckles for a moment before looking around, " You absolutely can, just I guess it's rather surprising to just see someone I just met a few hours ago back in the same spot. Thats all I was saying I guess. If this was Dun Loireag I would probably be sitting outside somewhere as well."

Goldenblade nods slowly, agrees, "I guess, yeah. This is about as close as I get to home turf. I actually helped build this place," she explains, waving her arm to take in the HQ and restaurant. "Not that long ago, really, so the place does change pretty dynamically. You really need a good sense of direction. Sadly, I don't have one, so I follow people."

    Setsuna looks up at the building and then back to the lady and then back at the building and whistles slowly. " I would never have guesssed this place was built only recently. I thought maybe it was put in by the designers. Now you're building an academy huh? Thats quite impressive. So always been in to building things? " He asks as he keeps looking at the building behind them, obviously a bit impressed to say the least.

Goldenblade chuckles, nods about always building things. "It's what I do," she explains. "I was a bricklayer, back in the world. But if you can do something for real, you can do it here. Generally better than using the in-game controls for doing a thing." She explains, "Cooking's the prime example. Anyone can use the in-game cooking system to make food, but it all tastes like soggy crackers. But if you use an actual fire and spices and meat and such, you can cook foor that actually tastes normal. Most crafting turns out to be like that."

    Setsuna listens intrigued as if this is the first time he is being told this , he really was living under a rock these last few months. " I guess I never really thought about it. I just got use to the taste of soggy crackers and bad tea. Always assumed it was intentional that the better tasting stuff seemed to come from shops and such. A way to keep a place for currency to go." He looks again at the building once more, " So build anything else ? "

Goldenblade grins at the better tasting stuff coming from shops. "Well, when PCs sell their extra prepared food, you can buy it for a markup. It's a bit pricey, so I usually go with the menu food. But I've had worse. One of the nice things about Crescent Burger is they were on the leading edge of the real food thing." As to anything else, there's a sort of open-air crafter's conclave out your way, where anyone can go up to an anvil and hammer something out. I've tried that, but I'm not very good yet. I'm trying to get better before I make a set of gear for myself."

    Setsuna nods his head, "Most the time I tend to stick to menu food, however ... beverages are another thing. Lately I have been more active in questing so I had some spare change to be able to even consider lunch today." He wobbles on his feet for a moment as he contemplates taking up crafting, " I... am not sure about taking the time to learn a new hobby, however maybe a musical instrument or something, or whittling. " He contemplates it for a moment before he shrugs his shoulders. "Lately I guess I have been trying to really figure out life all over again finally."

Goldenblade shakes her head slowly, and says, "This isn't life, this is games. Don't let them tell you different just because you can't log out." She smirks. "You can't lob fireballs in real life, and while there's bad people in real life, there's no goblins or grunties or pekos. This is just a way to interestingly amuse ourselves while we try to figure out how to log out." As for menu food, she says, "If you can afford it, there's no reason not to treat yourself decently." She nods, "As far as crafting, it's nice to make things, sometimes. You get pride in a job well done, for one thing. Though I've heard that people that get too wrapped up in their crafting get a debuff, and their minds start to wander. So I'm avoiding too much crafting."

     Nodding his head Setsuna listens to it all before responding, " The debuff bit I didn't know about. Always something new to learn about this game. Hopefully I don't spend enough time in here to learn so much I stop learning things." Taking a deep breath and looking up towards the tower before he looks back at the lady, " So then let see from you I have learned you can build your own place, treat yourself and the port is to the east. No wonder you are making a academy, you are pretty good at teaching. "

Goldenblade chuckles and nods at being good at teaching. "I'm not," she admits. "I'm just old enough to know that there -is- stuff that's important to teach, and to share information because that helps everyone." She agrees, "But yeah, it seems like there's always stuff to learn here. I'm pondering new moves in combat, too, and I don't know if it's a gradual reveal of stuff that already exisited, or if I'm inventing new stuff. But the academy I'm building will help me share it."

    Setsuna finally moves and takes a seat , if for no other reason then he had been wandering around town and his legs were 'feeling' tired. At the mention of age, he really tries to take a good looka at GoldenBlade for a moment and takes a guess for himself. " I think I will take a guess that you're not quite old enough for me to call you o-basan just yet." He grins as he lets his eyes people watch, "Though definately sounds like Senpai would be fitting for the moment. I ...moped for to long and now I feel almost lost when it comes to this world so I guess for now I am playing catch up. "

Goldenblade shrugs about catchup, and says, "The important thing is that you're catching up now. I'd gotten preoccupied with figuring out the world and I only just recently started trying to play the actual game a few weeks ago, myself. But you can call me grand-dad if you like, my meat's seventy five. Seventy six, come February. I don't know when that is, the game might or might not follow real-life time, I've heard."

    If Setsuna had been drinking anything he would of done a spit take at the mention of the age, and is quiet obviously shocked. He thought he was the old man in the game, compared to everyone else, not the other way around. " Well I suppose that this is a lesson about books and covers, that's unexpected. I thought I had learned that one back in college. " He shrugs and continues to people watch. " I hope it doesn't, I would rather it have all been like a dream when this is over, just one bad sleep instead of every day being missed. "

Goldenblade nods gravely about time lost. "It's a crime, what's been done. Taking people's lives away for months, it seems, like we've been here. The company's going to get sued so hard they'll go under, depend upon that. It may even have happened already. Whether it was an accident or not, it's a collosal screwup. About the onlt theory I've heard that excuses anything is that time is so compressed that less than a day has passed in the real world. But that's as much speculation as anything is, so who knows. But enough people are trapped in here, there's a huge class action lawsuit that'll take down whatever company makes this game. Or that's what I expect. I'm a bricklayer, what do I know from law?" She laughs. "But anyhow, we make do as best we can, and we challenge the tower, because someone figured out that beating that tower is how we'll get out of here."

    Setsuna nods his head, " I know that if I was even some how involved as a developer on this fuck up, well I would need a new career choice. Heads will roll for this even if the company survives it will never recover. It's just a matter of how fast they fall apart. " Taking a breath his eyes fall on one of the more popular taverns and then quickly moves his head to the tower, " I had heard that was a rumor, but some people believe, some people doubt, you never know. However its the best clue we have at the moment, so I am planning to be at the next floor run, so I am trying to catch up as fast as possible."

Goldenblade grins, nods, agrees about the company being screwed. "That's a fact." As to the floor boss, she says, "I've been on the second floor, the third, and the fourth. They keep getting hsrder, but they're still doable, if you play smart and have a bit of luck. I'll be on the next one if I can help it, but I'll be glad to see you there."

     "Yeah , thats the plan but I have a lot to do before then, it's why I am looking for monster hunting and capturing jobs." Setsuna says and then adds, "I figure the more difficult ones will bring me closer to being ready for the dungeon floors. Unless you can replay the earlier bosses." He checks his menu for a month and then jumps up. "Damn it, the boats going to leave soon. I have to run. I appreciate the chat, I am sure I will see you around. You said east right?" With that said he gives a quick bow not even waiting for an answer as he takes off running east as fast as his magic caster legs will carry him.

Goldenblade nods about east. "Yep, that's where you want to go. And no, they can't be replayed, the landscape changes when a boss is defeated. It's my sword lodged in the third floor boss. One of them." The sword on either hip, if you look carefully, are not matched.
