Just Another Day

Dun Loireag - The Highland City

It was just another day in this root town in the Ninetails Dominion. While many adventurers were using it as a hub to head back and forth, others were also using it to prepare and deal with the undead off to the west.

One of the individuals that can be found here is Xander Scaleharth, who is actually taking it easy as he leans against the wall of a building with his arms crossed over his chest. His golden, fiery draconic eyes watching people come and go.

His claw index finger gently tapping his forearm of arm, while he chews thoughtfully on a piece of wheat gently hanging out of his mouth.
Goldenblade

Goldenblade has just arrived on the boat from Carmina Gadelica, and she gimps down the gangplank leaning on a freshly cut sapling. She's got dots on her face, and her skin is flushed, and an examination shows two odd status effecrs: (Monkeypox) and (Numbness) and her health bar sitting unfortunately low. Well, the status effects explain her face and her limp, perhaps, though why she's come here from Carmina Gadelica is not clear.

After debarking the ship, she looks around curuously, and heads over to where Xander is loitering, calling out, "Hello," though in a tired voice. She pauses a bit farther away than one would normally. "How's it going?" she asks.

The Salamander looks over to Goldenblade as she comes over and raises a brow, "... You okay?" He asks and then does a quick inspect taking note of the debuffs. "Just what the heck did you get yourself into, Golden?"

Goldenblade smirks at the question, and the tone, and pauses to lean against the wall, herself, to catch her breath. "I went on one of the special event quests," she explains. "And now I'm on a quest to find a healer. I tried in Alne, but nothing, so I came here. It's been pretty damned miserable."

"Have you tried to talk with Uta?" Xander asks Goldenblade with a raised brow. "Last I heard she was doing a ton of medical stuff, so maybe she can help with that."

The Salamander's tail gently sways behind him in thought. "Unless it requires a very specific type of healer?"

Goldenblade shrugs at the mention of Uta. "Haven't seen her around," she explains. She nods about Uta doing medical stuff. "In addition to the slimes," she says with a shrug. "But beggars can't be choosers. But yeah, I don't know if it takes a specific kind of healing or not, but the healers on the scene didn't seem to have any trouble with it. But they ran out of spells before they got to me."

"Yeah, I'd see if you can find her. I think her lab is connected with Rylen's ranch, so maybe you can find her around there." Xander explains as he goes to take the piece of wheat out of his mouth. "What exactly happened anyways?"
Goldenblade

Goldenblade explains to Xander, "I checked, but she must have been out." As to what happened, she says, "It was the hardest mission I've been on yet. A bunch of things you couldn't fight with fighting. Magic and skills and other things I haven't got."

Xander makes a motion for Goldenblade to explain further with his hand, while he twirls the wheat around with his fingers. "Continue..."
Goldenblade

Goldenblade shrugs about continuing. "That's as much of it as I could follow. No one explains any damn thing here to the slow folks who might need a bit of extra background. They'll say some business or other and assume I just understand who's done what for the past however long on some makebeleive game. I don't understand what's going on, and no one would explain it when I asked. So you'll have to get it from someone besides me." She huffs.

Xander raise and brow hrms. "Do you know the name of the quest? Or at least remember it? Also," He then goes to place the piece of wheat back in his mouth. "Who else was in your party?"

Goldenblade thinks back. It takes a bit of effort. "Something about a festival, and jungle of whispers. We were supposed to find someone at the end, but he wasn't there," she explains. As to who all was there, she says, "Uh...Gwen, I know, and Prophylaxis and Merek. A couple other familiar faces, and some people I didn't recognize."

Xander listens and while he does, he keeps studying Goldenblade. Chewing lightly on the wheat in his mouth. He reaches up to do another inspect again, seeming to take a bit more care in what he is looking at.

"Well, Merek is bad about explaining anything and with that sword... It is questionable how much he can be trusted these days. Prophylaxis is another who /should/ be able to help you out some... Though I sometimes worry about his choice of profession with his love for fire."

Xander shifts his weight and then opens his inventory menu, though for Golden it was mostly watching his hand movements as he seems to make movement gestures. "And Gwen has a good heart, so I am sure if you really wanted a better explanation... They probably /could/ give it."

With that he takes out a healer kit and goes to crouch down. "Also lucky for you, I still have a few of these on me. Stopped making them with the herb shortage and was worried people just resell them for stupid prices." The Salamander opens it up and takes out a flask. "Here, use this." He hands it over to Golden.

"That should take care of the Monkeypox... Sadly can't do much about the numbness, a bit out of my wheelhouse in skills."

Goldenblade shrugs about Proph explaining things, and says in his defense, "He was busy working it all out with the others. I couldn't get a word in edgewise, so when it looked like there was nothing more to do, I walked back. But he probably understands it if anyone does." She shrugs about Gwen, and nods, "If I could have gotten her off to the side, it'd have been better, but they were actively trying to figure it out, and I guess didn't want to be distracted." She looks surprised at Xander handing over the flask, and ohs, "I dind't even know you could do this, thanks!" She quaffs it down, then, and inspects herself to see the one flag vanish.

"I have a low proficiency in pharmacy." Xander says as he puts away the kit. "If memory serves right it comes from my Crusader primary class, given my secondary is Sorcerer."

The Salamander then stands back up, and goes to take then wheat back out from his mouth. "There are a ton of things I know or /could/ do, but given most people are so sure fired..." He laughs gently; Though hard to tell if it is a friendly one. "I just let them fumble around."

"I get tired of being the nice guy or even helpful, when everyone else is so damn selfish and self-centered." The dark scaled Salamander snorts a bit of a smoke out. "... can't even get our alliance to write decent reports or-- anything for that matter. Feels like half the time, only Amalthea, Kita, and I are the only ones who give a shit by the end of the day."

He then flicks the wheat off to the side. "But as some would say, I'm just a grump. I like things done a particular way and when they are not... It annoys me." Xander then looks back to Golden. "Something tells me, you can relate to that a bit."

Goldenblade nods to Xander about the crusader thing. "That'd be why you're so tough, also," she guesses. She rolls her shoulders, and takes a deep breath, feeling much better. As to what could be done, she can only shrug helplessly. "I like to help where I can, but too often, no one will explain what's going on or what I can do to help."

Goldenblade smirks about being tired of being the nice guy, and says, "Well, I can kind of relate, I guess. I did like things done my way, when I was working, but that's not so much a thing here. This place is all new to me. Nothing really corresponds to what I've done before." As for no one making reports, she admits, "No one's asked me for a report, which I guess is good as I'm not a particularly useful observer."

Xander then shrugs softly. "Sadly, it is the way of things. Anyways," He gives a little bit of a stretch. "I need to go check on some things before this day gets any further away from me. That numbness should have a cooldown. Maybe only last a day or two by my guess."

His tail flicks as he shifts his body weight. "I'd take it easy if I were you. Try to get some rest and a hot meal. Honestly, where things are going... We may all wish we /could/ get some rest."

He then gives Goldenblade a pat on the shoulder before he walks off. "Catch you on the flip side, Golden!"

Goldenblade bows to Xander, and nods, "Thank you for your help. I ..." she doesn't sit still easily, she's part of -that- generation, and she decides, "I'll poke the people working on the academy project, they'll be happy to see more of me." She nods about catching the flipside, and ... that said, she'll find a boat heading back to Carmina Gadelica, she supposes.
