At Home On The Range

Shiruba
Shibuya

It's a fact of life that not all the materials being gathered for the work on various parts of Shibuya is going to be of suitable quality to provide the structural support needed. That's just how things go when you're bringing in raw materials in as much bulk as possible. So what do you do with the wood and stone that isn't quite up to need so it doesn't go to waste?

Using some of it for target practice sounds like a good idea. The archers and mages that help stand watch over the town can always use the excersize to keep their eyes and skills sharp (and auto-targetting not being a thing now).

"That should do it." Shiruba stepped back and dusted off her hands. Rocks around the base of some posts to keep them standing, but they'll easily fall over if hit hard enough, and can be set up again and again as needed. At least until the targets themselves break apart, but there's some spare wood for more when that time comes.
Erufu
Shibuya

Erufu :had also had the idea to do some target pactice herserl as the geeen haird pooka, who refuses to call herself one comes out to the samne spot with the sam idea in mind.

"Ah so I'm not the only one working on their skills mmm?"

She grins warmley at Shiruba, as she moves to get her bod ready.

"Mind I join you? There rest of my party is taking a break. Onna Shinkan is tending to some hunter guild business at the moment and the rest are resupplying at the moment."
Shiruba
Shibuya

Shiruba glances up at the new voice. "Hello Erufu." The wolfgirl wanders back to where she left her bow while getting the targets prepared and picks it up. "Got to get in the practice when I can, with all the other things that keep me busy these days. But I definitely don't mind some company." She gives the string a light twang to test the tension. "Especially don't mind someone else that actually understands archery as more than 'shoot pointed stick at thing'."
Erufu
Shibuya

Erufu will fall in line to size up the target as she goes about setting up to start shooting. "Even one who is 2000 years old can always have room for some improvement, no?" Yes, she just said she's 2000 years old looks like Erufu is keeping in character at all times. "It's more than just fighting. It's a skill for pleasure, survival and more!" She'll drawback and let an arrow fly a second later.

"So Goblin Slayer, you ever run into him before the Cave?"
Shiruba
Shibuya

"If I ever get to be 2000 years old I'll be more silver than I already am!" Shiruba nocks an arrow pulled back in her bow. "Indeed. Though I don't get a lot of time for 'casual' hunting any more, with all the Guild Leader duties." *twang* goes the bow, and *thunk* in the wood target goes the arrow. It's a very simple shot with a simple arrow, especially considering her magical 'trick arrow' repitoir. But it's good to practice the basics. Everything else is built on that after all.

"Nope." Oversized ponytail wags almost as much as her tail does when she shakes her head. "But considering the goblin problems we've got I'm not complaining about him showing up."
Erufu
Shibuya

Erufu giggles at Shiruba for a moment. "I just make it look good. Your one of the higher-ups in Silver Sword now are you not? Aye, I never see a Hunter quite like him. If his inspect didn't say he was a Person of the Land you'd think he was an Adventurer." The Elf grins at this as she lets another arrow fly. "Can't forget about the small things, right? Even a 'weak monster' is still a monster for a reason. It's our responsibility to deal with things like that.
Shiruba
Shibuya

There's nothing fancy or flashy here. Just practicing the basic aim and shoot. If you can't aim and shoot it doesn't matter how much magical prowess she could throw behind it, if it wouldn't hit the mark. "That is one of the first things we need to get trained into peoples' heads. You can't judge a monster by it's level, or it's rating. They're -all- dangerous... And yeah. You wouldn't immeadiately expect a Lander to be so intense, but there he is."
Erufu
Shibuya

Erufu is just shooting targets as well nothing major today. "Yes, a Monster is a monster after all. Once that use traps or that ... venom I head the cave goblins had. I wonder if something happened to him in his past about them. Still, he seems willing to party with us, not many Hunters generally would. Not out of disrespect but they don't have the Gods' blessing like we do."
Shiruba
Shibuya

"Hopefully they're right about that being the effect of an Enigma Piece and they won't have poison like that again..." Shiruba pauses to take another shot, her tail swishing a bit to help keep her balance steady. "The oaf with the Hacking power wasn't any easier."
Erufu
Shibuya

Erufu says "The question is how and where did they get it? That's concerning Shiruba." She seems serious on that. "Who knows what else they might have in their hands too. No the hacking was not, editing reality like thti s beyond magic..."
Shiruba
Shibuya

"It doesn't really answer the question.... but the ogre sounded as if someone gave it that power. But that just begs to ask WHO could give out such a formidable force." She draws two arrows from her quiver and fires them in succession into a target as fast as possible. But not as fast as she'd like. "I really need to start thinking about getting a more customized bow."
Erufu
Shibuya

Erufu says "Aye, the Ogre was a pawn of something else. We need to find out who and if they have a master. Could be we have a Dark Lord rising ion some form. Oh? Yes having something made to suit you, the wight the balance all of it custom made. Maybe get some art work etched into the grips. Oh a custom quiver too if you are going for a custom bow!"
Shiruba
Shibuya

Shiruba laughs a little. "One thing at a time!" She reachs up to pat one of the arms of her bow. It's not the starter gear thank the goddesses but it is just a general boughten weapon rather than crafted. "I was thinking having some of the magic gems I've collected inset as part of the handle, to help channel my storm magic through it." Yes she's calling it 'storm' magic. It's in character you know.
Erufu
Shibuya

Erufu fires off another shot. "I just hone my own skills at archery, but if you have magic you might as well make use of it. This sounds like you should gather ths amterial and find a boywer to make you this. Still it sounds like you will need an enchanter as well." She splits her previous arrow.
Shiruba
Shibuya

Shiruba smirks a little, tail flicking in a wag of sorts. "I'm still an archer first and foremost." She draws back an arrow, which starts to glimmer like morning frost as she takes aim. "But I'm also a strategist, so if I can capitalize on elemental weaknesses..." She fires, and when the arrow thunks into one of the targets it frost quickly spreads from the point of impact until the entire target is covered in arcane ice that makes it even more fragile. "Or cripple a foe for my Party to take advantage of, there is no reason not to use it, right?"
Erufu
Shibuya

Erufu says "Got to use all things you have at your finger tips. That ogre hunt droved in that pretty hard. So I hav ebene wondering what do you do for fun when your not out being the mighty wolk kin hunter?" She grints widly and splits the previous arrow /again/.
Shiruba
Shibuya

"Food." That answer comes without a split-second to waste thinking about it, even as Shiruba is prepping another shot. "I can't cook, but I know people who can, and I -can- as a Hunter get the high quality meat and such for them to use. Everyone wins."

Shiruba draws back -3- arrows at once in her bow. It's clearly a bit awkward, but she still hits three targets at once with the shot. Just not dead in the center. Still being able to just shoot like that, and not using her magic to do so, takes some skill.
Erufu
Shibuya

Erufu laughs at this. "I'm glad our alliance has an skilled Chef. The first month was ... pure suffering for my party. Aye I do the same I catch the game they cook it up. Perhaps we should team up for a hunt at some point. Could even set up a business." She laughs about this. She watches her do tehriple arrow thing and nods. "Nicely done you are the second person I seen who does that aside from myself."
Shiruba
Shibuya

Shiruba flicks an arrow over in her fingers to tap her chin with the fletchings thoughtfully. "I do have the business connections to start up that sort of thing... but a lot of my funding is going into the Shibuya projects as well, so it can be a bit hard to muster together." She shrugs, flips the arrow over again, and notchs it in her bow. "Thanks~. That's a trick that it took time, skill, and sheer stubborness to learn to do right."
Erufu
Shibuya

Erufu looks to Shirbvca and does the same trick a moment later. "It is keep at it you'll get even better at it." She now lower her bow. "You do have quite a bit of connections don't you?"
Shiruba
Shibuya

"Mmhmm." The wolfgirl stands up proudlty, resting her bow against her shoulder. "I've been an Adventurer for quite a long time, even if I'm not 2000 years old!" Which is the in-character way of saying she's been playing since nearly the start of this iteration of the Elder Tale franchise.
Erufu
Shibuya

Erufu says "Yes it does show." She will now pause to get some food out of her pack. It looks like trail rations as she takes a bite of it.
Shiruba
Shibuya

"Ready for a break?" Shiruba steps over to sit down, and does much the same. Jerky, nuts, berries, the stuff that's easy to find and keep for a long period out in the wilderness. "Alas I haven't had a chance to stop by the IR and stock up on bento takeout." She takes a bite out of jerky in one hand, then opens her menu with the other. "Things were pretty hectic during that last Quest, I don't think I ever Friend-ed you properly. It helps to have contacts, if we ever somehow lack access to the Alliance connections."
Erufu
Shibuya

Erufu will open up her menu and fire a fdriend request on Shiruba. "I don't mind at all and yes that's something to keep in mind. Guilds do sadly explode some times. Though I adm admit I'm a bit concnred about the Scale. They seem to think things are just a game. This is a living breathing world. It's like the game was a miror of another world..."
Shiruba
Shibuya

"The Scale Emblem as a whole? Yeah. There's people more focused on 'winning the game' than anything else." Once friend requests are accepted Shiruba closes the menu and resumes munching on her snack. "But don't judge the individuals just by their Alliance. They've got good people too." She bites a nut with her fangs to crack it open. "Small miracle that what happened Dark Waves in the Eastal forests seems to have gotten it through their heads that they can't just bumrush the Tower wide open."
Erufu
Shibuya

Erufu says "They might destroy this world in the process. We need to keep an eye on. Yes we were lucky it didn't hit a town or a city." She hangs on to her rations for the moment. "I just ... don't understand this desire to /win/. Those who have someone they can't live without I understand...but other than that?"
Shiruba
Shibuya

"Keep an eye on them, and protect the Landers and the world as best we can." Shiruba flicks the end of her jerky in the air to catch in her mouth. "But if there is one thing that dealing with the Undead Army has shown, it's that going to all out war over a matter is only going to cause more problems than it solves, and catch a lot more innocent lives in the middle. We.. have to be diligent, and hope that they can eventually be convinced that we have no proof that 'winning' equates 'escaping'."
Erufu
Shibuya

Erufu beams "That's the plan. The undead if only they are foolish enough to ... raise some goblins."

She notes musing about something. "Aye we need to deal with the Army, Scale can wait and I woinder if they considered they may be doing the bidding of whatever brought us to this world.
