Merek and the talking of things

    It's evening while it rains along the field. Merek looks like he will be relaxing about, taking the time to drink from the flask with him. He then looks to the place in full, with him that nice dark attire, what's notable is that Shadow Eclipse isn't with the man.

    The necromancer was out in the rain, in the middle of the night, it was kinda cliche really as he walks through the field, oddly carrying a potted plant as he is heading towards Alne. Setsuna stops as he sees a figure sitting in the rain and tilts his head, looking at the figure for a moment before speaking up, "Excuse me? Do you know it is raining?" He obviously hasn't made out that it is Merek yet.

Goldenblade finds her way to this location, with only a bit of difficulty. She's still not great at overland navigation in this game, but she'll call out, "Merek? Merek?!" until she finally finds the fellow taking his ease, without his cursed sword, and Setsuna standing closeby. She'll apprach, then, and call out, "Good evening." Making her way over to chat, she takes a look around the area, and wonders, "What place is this? And why'd you ask me here?"

She walks in a slow circle around the area, peering into the distance, looking over the grassy plains and pink flowers. In the distance, the Tower. She turns back to look at Merek, with an expectant look on her face. She's wearing a cloak against the rain, but she doesn't look pleased to be called out in the weather.

    Merek pulls up the hood along his features, while he nods a bit to Goldenblade with Setsuna, "It's good to meet you both. I am wondering if you would begin to assist me with the undead. I have a plan that requires me to be diplomatic, though I will need people willing to assist me. I will probably be presenting that to the Guild as well."

    Setsuna looks at Merek and then at Goldenblade and then back to Merek, "Merek?! Is that you? Again do you know it is raining?" He tilts his head and then back at Goldenblade, "Does he know it is raining?" Says the guy holding a potted plant in the middle of the rain. Then he hears Merek's plan and turns around with a look, " Whatcha talkin' Merek?" He takes a deep breath before he sets the plant aside and takes a deep breath, " Lets start with the beginning, why?"

Goldenblade eyes Merek skeptically. She looks to Setsuna, then back to Merek, and says flatly, "If you need /my/ help with diplomacy, you must be pretty bad off." She looks to Setsuna again, then shrugs, "He's in his own world," and turns back to Merek once again. "And I'm not sure what sort of plan works with undead. They're generally not open to negotiation, unless maybe you're offering them brains?"

"I'll warn you now, if you're planning on offering them mine, and this is some kind of trap, it will go badly." She doesn't say who it'll go badly for. Given her past history, it'll probably be her. But she's taking a few steps back now, hands on her swords.

    Merek looks from the hood to Goldenblade while he seems to think about it, "I have no intention to sell you out to the enemy," he notes, then he takes a look along to Setsuna, "I am aware it's raining. I liked it back when we were in the original Earth." He then lifts a hand with a little motion, "I am planning to seek Auther, I am going to need a team of people that can fight undead in case we need it."
    The man nods to the two, he wears a bracelet with which has two devices on, Enigma Runes along that piece. "I think that I can manage to persuade him. To assist in the fight with the Queen."

    Setsuna ... so many questions , and only so much wet he can tolerate. "I want you to understand I have many more questions then what I am vocalizing. " He looks up for a second and tries some magic to do something but it suddenly is like more rain is falling on him then anyone else. Looking back at Merek he stares for a moment, "Again it is raining. " Taking a breath as he wipes his face of the downpour, " Do you plan to barter the girl? Wait step back, why do you think they would side with us period. As this is the second time in a week and a half you have wanted to negotiate with the undead. At the same time you also chastised us for not wanting to kill those scorpion bugs. What makes these monsters different?"

Goldenblade looks slightly less worried when Merek says he's not going to try to eat her brain, but then when he says he's going to seek out Auther, she hangs her head. "Commit suicide without me, okay?" she says sourly. She goes on, in a calm tone, "I don't know a lot about the game. How it's played, or what's supposed to happen. But /you're/ the one that picked up that cursed sword. So, you'll understand why I question your judgement." She was there, she remembers. "I mean, I'm seventy five years old, and -I- knew that was a stupid thing to do."

She boggles at Setsuna as he does magic to amplify the rain on him. Is he one of those water fairy people? Well, whatever? In Merek's defense, she says to Setsuna, "That undead, Auther, seems to be the least dedicated to this undead overrunning the world thing. If there's anyone we can turn, it'd be him. But it seems like when the chips are down, he's faithful to his liege." So, she can only shrug.

    "The scorpions weren't particularly intelligent. The undead being made from Landers look to be intelligent. Their Commanders are. The woman that was leading the scorpions seems to be. I don't think that all monsters are created in the same way. I have no design to try offering the girl. I have a plan that involves the use of a new Piece. I can perhaps persuade him to stand down some of that army. It would save a lot of people."
    There's a nod along to Goldenblade, while he speaks to Setsuna, "I understand what you did, although... He was beginning to stand down. I know you all needed to make a decision. They have motives. They are led by that insane Queen. I do ask you not to go right to your Guild, at least... Not until I share it with a few people. Amalthea, those in charge. I think the poeple of mine will agree, and I can then talk about it with Amalthea. She is leading the defense. The sword's destroyed. No one will be wielding it."

    Hearing the faithful bit the monster handler chuckles a little as lightning seems to flash over him, perhaps the weather was now reacting to Setsuna's thought. " Um there do exist ways to force the faithful to change their allien..." He trails off as he hears the last sentence said by Merek. " You did WHA?" You almost expecct his voice to echo , as he seems rather almost upset by it. Taking a deep breath of air and water, spitting the water out and then takes another. " Well I suppose what is done is done, are you ok ? Any ill effects?"

Goldenblade looks puzzled at Merek, though she nods about the undead being led by an insane queen. That much she agrees with. The rest of it ... "What decision? What are you talking about? And what -who- did? What did they do?" Her tone is deeply confused. She's seventy five, and not quick on the pickup in these modern games. And she doesn't have the same base assumptions or understandings at all.

She nods about brainwashing and bribes, though she doesn't think either would work on the undead. But, it's a computer game with magic. Anything can happen if the game designers wrote it in.

    "Nah, in fact it became new materials, which include a new Enigma Piece," Merek mentions, nodding a bit to Setsuna along with Goldenblade, while he thinks about it. "Anyway, I will need to find a way to make it work. I'm still researching, and even if we win, we will need to fight the Queen and probably a lot of Commanders as well as the undead. I'm just wanting this to succeed in making that a lot easier."

     Setsuna raises an eyebrow, " Ok only side question, what type of piece?" He then lowers his head and begins to think about what Merek said for a moment, " Ok lets say I agree, and I am not sure I do. However lets say I do for now. " Rubbing his head for a moment as he thinks more and tries to get his thoughts in order, " I could be the best person or worst person to bring. I've captured one of her forces before, though he is still being a stubborn research subject. You will also need to wait for the doctor to finish whatever this mood is he is going through. I don't think you are going to get what you want. At best case scenario I think she will disband him vs let him turn on her." It seems Setsuna was at least willing to consider suicide. Looking over at GoldenBlade he adds, " It is true if we could take her army down piece by piece it would eventually fall apart. However..." Looking over at Merek he adds, "You don't plan to negotiate with the queen right?"

Goldenblade ehhhs, "The sword became new materials?" She sounds incredulous. "You say that like disassembling a nuke and building a TV set out of the parts makes it non-radioactive." She gives Merek a flat look. "And wait, you're going to have to fight the queen /if you win/? What happens if you lose?" she wonders.

To Setsuna, she says, "If we could take over her army piece by piece, she'd be left without an army. But yeah, I think they're close enough where she wouldn't let him go. We got the girl out, but that's because Auther isn't unreasonable. On the other hand, it seems -she- is pretty solidly insane. But anyhow, count me out of your crazed plans." Anyhow, she has her own crazed plans to work on. "But you seem well-informed. What do you know about the player that got captured?"

    "We fight the Queen if we win and if we lose. That's because she began the war. We can't negotiate with the woman. She intends to wipe out all Adventurers as well as Landers, then will dominate the whole world into undead. We don't know a lot about the player that was captured if you mean the one turned into undead." With that he nods a little bit, "It's a piece that influences people. When we find where the Queen is staying, we will still need to make sure she doesn't really have an entire army on prepared."

    The necromancer nods his head listenng and contemplating, " Convince the others, go from there. " It's really all he can say not like he is able to call the alliance to arms or anything, nor can he just raise an army. Not yet anyways. Looking over at Goldenblade he tilts his head, " You are the first adventurer I have even heard mention him since the meeting of alliances. I almost thought it was the barbarian we saw the other day but inspect said that was a knight, not a barbarian. So I guess likely somewhere out there in the Queen's territory." Holding his hands over his head and trying to shield himself from the rain he finally asks, "Why?"

Goldenblade says, "I do mean the one that was turned into undead. That's a player, and he didn't respawn. If you want to help /players/, actual poeple that are alive, help him." She nods about fighting the queen win or lose, but then asks, Merek, "So, why are we doing the thing you want us to do? And I think I lost track of what it was you're suggesting we do. Can you say it again in small words, without glossing over details?"

She explains to Setsuna, because it seems he might not have the full story, "A player was captured and turned into one of the undead. I only just recently learned he didn't respawn. Apparently other people knew, but no one's done anything."

    "We would need to find him to know anything about that, although we can look into it. Simply, I will ask for Auther to meet with enough of his forces. Then, we begin diplomacy. I don't think we can win the fight if there are any, that said we will need to flee if that doesn't work," Merek offers, while he thinks about it. "I need to bring that up to people, the plan. Would be a while before we even can, I think."

    Looking at Goldenblade , Setsuna raises his hand to the mouth and doesn't say anything for a moment before lowering his hand and replying, " I didn't know he hadn't respawned. I wonder what that means for the poor guy." The hint of curiosity is present in his voice but so was concern. Either way it does seem he a least didn't know he never respawned. Then he hears Merek doesn't have a plan and lookbacks, " So no plan yet ok, what happens if you go waltzing through the woods tomorrow and Authur pops out? You and your guildies versus Authur, what do you do? "

Goldenblade ahhhs, nods to Setsuna. "I'm glad I'm not the only person that missed that memo," she says. "Yeah, I only learned the other day, myself. The guy I learned it from assumed everyone knew, but I know now that it's not the case. I do have something for you, seperately," she tells Setsuna.

She rubs her temples as Merek doesn't answer her questions in ways she can understand. "Find who? Look into what?" She sighs. "Well," she says to Merek. "You do you. I have /no/ idea why you think it will work, no idea what it is you want me to do, and you can't or won't explain it. I find that frustrating and a waste of time. So, there's no way I can help you. And now I've been out in the rain for far too long." She heads back out into the rain, breaking into a dash, in a manuver that might be called Walking Between the Raindrops. The idea is the faster you go, the less you get rained on. She goes fast anyhow, but still gets wet.

    Merek nods a little along to the two, "Alright, well you both take care. I need to do a few things with the company." The man waves along to the two and makes a way.

    Merek then looks to Setsuna, "It's Auther, if he's meeting us alone he generally would like to talk with people. If we fight we fight though we might need to flee away."

    Setsuna watches as everyone scatters and he stands in his self inflicte down pour and grabs his plant. Looking over at Merek as he stops, maybe more to say and there was, only it causes Setsuna to frown, "You do you I guess. " It is really all he can say as he begins to continue taking his plant for a walk in the rain.
