Morning Sun

It starts with the rising sun and ends with a possible friendship... Or possibly plotting.

There is something marvelous and wonderful about watching a sunrise. Watching as darkness, slowly turns into light. The colors that begin to rise over the event horizon, and how the glow gently starts to dance across even a lake's watery surface.

Upon the bridge over this lake, was a man who had no weapons on him, but seem to be enjoying just looking off into the distance, with his hands resting on the rails and his eyes fixated on that slow rising sun.

The only time his eyes would look away from that glorious sight before him, was when someone came passing by. A quick glance would be given to those that pass by, before he looks back to the rising sun once more.

Goldenblade is on the bridge, making good use of the dawn to fish, her pole in hand, line in the water as she waits patiently for a bite. It's not happening soon, sadly, but she's having a go, anyhow. Looking up as she sees Vafrum approach, she offers a nod of greeting. "Good morning," she calls.

It would be less approaching and maybe more in realization of where one was to the other, given the man has not moved from resting along that railing.

Though in turn to the 'Good Morning' from Goldenblade, she is greeted with an equal, "Good Morning." Till his eyes looks over to her. He studies her clothing, hair, down to the fishing pole in hand before his next question quickly follows. "How goes the fishing?"

Goldenblade probably hadn't realized he was there in the dark. She's human, no special night senses, or scent, or lizard magic or whatever. She looks over at the were fang, shrugs about the fishing, and says, "No joy so far. I suppose I haven't got the skill for this." She looks back to her line, then over to Vafrum. "What brings you out here?"

"Oh, just watching the sun." The man explains motioning out toward the horizon with an open hand. "I enjoy these little pleasures before I set off to do whatever I need to do for the day."

He then runs his hand through his hair, before turning slightly to face Goldenblade a bit more than he already was. "I am sure with some practice or perhaps finding some trainer, you might have a chance at it." He says with a shrug, though adding next, "Also, before I forget, my name is Vafrum. Vafrum Fonias... And you are?"

Goldenblade ohs, she forgets about introductions when an inspect will show you a person's name. But she replies smoothly, "Just call me Goldenblade." Because on Inspect, her name overruns the space. "It's nice to meet you, Mr. Fonias. And as to fishing, I know how to fish. But in this game, the fish don't bite unless you have the skill for it. Which I imagine I don't, no matter how much fishing I did in real life. Though I guess I hadn't been in years."

"Ah yes, the curse of you needing the skills to match the real life identity. Nasty little thing that." Vafrum says with a little smirk on his lips. "Like cooking or brewing a cup of tea."

He turns away and goes back to resting his arms back on the railing. "You know, I bet if you were to maybe use water magic, you could possible lift fish out of the water and cast them onto land." He says as he glances up in thought, before looking over to Goldenblade, "But who knows if that would even work, hm?"

"I, myself, however still retain my most important skill sets from the real world. Just it, hm, has taken me a bit of time to fully come to grasp with the notion that this place. This Fantastic world... Has so much untouched potential."

Goldenblade smirks about retaining skills from real life. "I can cook burgers on a grill better in real life than here, let me tell you," she says. "And like you say, I could probably lift a bunch of water out of the lake, but I don't think I could stop fish from swimming out of the water I'm lifting out while I'm lifting it out." She nods about the important skill, and admits, "I've kept my skills from the world as well. Better, in some ways, I suppose. Or more versatile, I guess you would say."

As far as the world having untouched potential, she says, "I don't think you could say the world has even been properly explored in the six momths it's been around. We were still finding unexplored parts of earth thousands of years later, in real life. If this is 1000-1200AD, technology-wise, there were obscure corners of the world still being found in the 1900's. So it'd be wildly premature to think we'd found everything."

That smirk tuns into a grin, but nothing is really said in response back to Goldenblade's long explanation of the universe. The man goes to stand up and fixes the collar of his vest, before straightening the long sleeves of his blouse. "I should get going, but before I do..."

The man tilts his head ever so faintly with a gently raised brow, "What is it that you do in this world, Goldenblade? What are your goals?"

Goldenblade does tend to ramble, once she gets started, doesn't she? As to what she does, she says, "I play the game. That's all any of us can do, until we can figure a way out, or someone lets us free." But she then adds, "Or do you mean specifically? I'm a weaponsmith, I suppose, and a builder and a teacher, too, I suppose."

"Weaponsmith." Vafrum says back softly, with that grin becoming a smile. "That is useful." Then with an ahem, seeming to pull back his own thoughts, he gives Goldenblade a respectful bow. "Well, do take care of yourself, Goldenblade, and I'm sure we will be in touch again."

The man then goes to walk away while humming a little song to himself, as he walks along the road heading back toward the Town of Beginnings.
