An Unusual Weapon

Mikage
Alne

For a while, Mikage had been struggling with finding a weapon that could be utilized with her fighting style. Something that could handle having elemental magics channeled through it and also function with the strange abilities of her relic. For a time, she had Cyrus had tried to work it out amongst themselves, but now... it seemed time to get an expert in on matters.

So, Miki had reached out to Miho, suspecting that the smith would likely have an interest in the unique sort of parts she had to bring to the table for such a project. The Were Fang waits outside the main city gates of Alne, leaning against one of the outer walls. Rama, her lynx, is dozing by her feet, whiskers occassionally twitching.

Miho has been traveling a lot, getting supplies for various projects. So it was a foruante she also had business in this region around now, even better was the promise of making a new weapon? A non standard weapon? That had her attention. So it would not be too long before Mikage would see the Salamander smith trotting up to her, tail swishing as she went.

"Hey Mikage! Sorry I'm a bit late, had an encounter on the road and had to help a Hunter out."

As the smith makes her appearance, Mikage raises a hand in greeting to wave her over. "No worries." She offers the other woman a small smile. Rama, at hearing the voices, perks a bit, then does one of those languid cat stretches, his big fluffy paws extending forwards as he yawns. "You gave Rama an excuse to get in a nap." She laughs softly.

Moving her hand in the air in the familiar way of someone going through their inventory, Mikage takes out a blanket and sets it down, before starting to unpack a strange looking series of objects. "I'm not sure if you've seen these sort of things before, but... they are parts dropped from a creature known as an Elemental Machine."

The parts she unpacks all look to be vaguely mechanical, but in a very strange sort of way. It's almost as if there were aspects of them that were once living, or perhaps had once had some sort of energy system that is beyond normal technology. "We've been collecting them for a while, and I was hoping to try to incorporate them into a new bow."

She looks up then, "I figured you'd have the best idea on something like that, with your metallurgy knowledge."

Miho tail keeps swishing for the moment she seems ot be in a good mood. "Well then can't say no to a cat getting a cat na ... waiyt did you just say drops from an Elemental MAchine!?" Her tail goes ram rod straigh and she sem to be quite intereste she's fighting the urge to not squeel. Her tail is wagging now she just has no control over this. "You want to work them into a bow?! We can head for my forge right away it might be a bit of a trip but we can get started as soon as I arrive there!"

The level of excitement from the smith causes Mikage to offer her own soft laugh. She'd been a bit uncertain about the whole idea, but the enthusiasm seems to draw her out of some of her own reservations. "Yeah. One of the pieces I found even has a slot where I think my relic could be inserted. Cyrus and I were experimenting with it, but we aren't as skilled in that sort of knowledge."

The prospect of heading immediately to the forge is met with a lift of her brows, "I think that should be fine. I'll have to let the others know where I'm heading." The others, likely being Cyrus and Sassaral, her traveling companions.

"These parts seem to have some unique qualities to them. Things you wouldn't be able to do otherwise, like... these parts here seem to shift when energy is applied to them." She explains, trying to show them to Miho. "So... by your enthusiasm, I take it that the idea to try to incorporate these into a weapon isn't a stupid idea?"

Miho has forgot the goods she needs to pick up for the moment she will recall it she think for a moment as Mikage contiunes on. "No it's not a stupid idea at all, we'll be going in blind butI love a challenge. Look do not worry, my family have been smiths since the warring states era!" She beams at this there's no small amount of pride in this. "Its great idea if it can react to your relic who knows how it might boost it's powers!" The tail is going again and she's almost bouncing in place now, a second later she is boucing n the ball of her feet. "I wish I'd thought of something like this before!"

There is that spark there, once Miho confirms that the idea holds some merit. Mikage starts to pack up the various pieces again, as Rama looks between the two, perhaps confused on why they both seem quite so excited over what looks to be nothing but pieces of metal.

"Cyrus had some ideas on how to making wiring to connect some of the pieces. So I'll probably have him show you what he's been working on." Miki explains, "He's... been doing most of the heavy lifting with what I've had in mind so far. I've just been the one following down leads for the parts."

Once most of it is gathered back up, she nods to Miho. "I probably wouldn't have thought of it on my own, but Cyrus had some experience with Elemental Machines from before the Apocalypse. He suggested I might be able to do something with the parts." She draws a few strands of hair back behind her ear. There is a distinct sound in her voice when she talks about her traveling companion that might suggest just how highly she thinks of him.

"So, your forge is in Dun Loireag, right? Guess I've got another trip back to Ninetails, huh?"

Miho says "Great it will be good to work with him on this. Still getting the right material is important right?" She's calming a little bit and she thinks for a moment. "Yeah, I'd hunted a few before but didn't get any drops to work mentioning. Time to have some fun and yes I'm working in Dun Loireag for the moment, I may end up moving to our new city though. Give Gigan a proper rival..."

At the mention of Giganpor, Mikage gives a soft laugh, but there is something anxious about the sound. "Well, I think you best him, hands down when it comes to the crafts. Besides, I wouldn't go to him with something like this." She shakes her head.

"I wouldn't trust it in anyone else's hands but yours." It's one part dodging the subject of 'why' she might not want to trust him with such a project, and one part bolstering Miho in the process.

"Anyways, I'll gather my party together and I'll meet you back at your forge, then? Sound like a plan?"

Miho looks to Mikage for a moment "Look so far as I know I'm one of he only if the only actual trained Smith in the alliance." She wags her tail. "I have so many people to teach." She seems serious on this too. "You honor me with such trust. I will do my best to not let you down. Also we should make sure we're friended right if any of your friends are in town I should friend them as well before I set out. Other than that you have a deal!"
