Obsidian: Mirror Mirror

With the Mac Anu treasure map completed, the Adventurers have finally gotten enough of an idea about where the Goblins under Mac Anu are coming from, and have managed to get to the target location. This is a two-part sequence, and follows directly from 'Obsidian: The Goblins of Mac Anu'.

Liminality
Mac Anu - Sewers

Not much time has passed since the fall of the Soul Mirror to the ground, and the defeat of the Beholder and its Observers. The team has been hastily getting themselves healed back up, taking their Mana Potions and being seen by the Doctor. There's a nervous air in the room, as the predictions of the 'mastermind' behind this operation had so far been right. The Adventurers would defeat them the monsters, some of the Adventurers would fall... so where are those reinforcements?

Was it the Goblins on the other side of that mirror? Was that it? Could they just start heading back without any problems? But there is still the Soul Mirror to consider. What are they going to do with it? Just detonate this chamber and hope nobody gets to it? They can't exactly lower it into the seas. Not to mention, regardless of the health and mana potions being used, there's still that sense of exhaustion and hunger from their last battle. Not to mention, nobody knows if just laying the mirror flat is truly going to stop the invasion of those Goblins on the Other Side.

A few reinforcements manage to arrive, while others may have managed to get out by means of the boats moored within the Mac Anu sewers. But it's only maybe five minutes after the defeat of the Beholders that something happens. Scraping. Loud scraping of something metalic being dragged through a groove. And in the distance, a shadow large enough to take up over half the hallway in height approaching. The stone floor rumbles and quakes with each step, almost managing to drown out the rapid stip-steps that accompany it.

The door would otherwise have been a great thing to serve as a barricade for whatever is coming, but the Observers had ensured it was largely made useless by means of their Disintegration Rays. Instead, they're left without much in the way of defenses or things to hide behind, as a swarm of Goblins surges into the room, rapidly storming the heroes while a massive thing steps in.

"That's a Goblin Champion." The Goblin Slayer remarks, "But I've never seen one /that/ large before." It doesn't help that those present who are senstive to the Law of Alba can feel that it is being broken at a constant as that thing gets closer into the chamber, wielding its massive club. Its crimson eyes looking down at the Adventurers, while it laughs with this viscious sneering grin...

And begins to approach the Soul Mirror with no attention to the Adventurers while the Goblins storm them. Crossbow shots flinging through the chamber, while others storm the rear flanks with their daggers and other wicked weapons.
Mizuki
Mac Anu - Sewers

On the subject of the mirror, Mizuki eventually asks Prophylaxis, "Why can't you just destroy it with lightning like you did the other thing?"

And then... the biggest goblin she's ever seen, even bigger than that floor boss! Well, she's fought giant monsters, before, so--

Wait, it's just going straight for the mirror?!

"Hey! The monsters aren't supposed to play smart! No fair!" She threads her way between the rain of crossbow bolts, making sweeping motions with her arms to conjure up water in front of the champion, trying to make it seep up his legs... before holding one arm out and shouting, "Scatter your chilly sharp blades! FROST BOLT!" Maybe freezing him in place is too much to hope for, but they've got to stop him from reaching the objective!
Estelle
Mac Anu - Sewers

While the vixen isn't caught up on everything, she did know that there was an operation tonight to help break the Goblins' grip on the region. And, with the omens being good for her presence, now she's arrived - using the folding fan implement she's taken to, lately, in one hand, as she helps patch up what wounds are left in the gap between allied reinforcement and enemy ones. The toppled mirror is a thing of interest... but there's no time to ask real, insightful questions, amidst the barricading, beyond that it needs to stay down.

And so when the horde arrives, blades and arrows and other things launched at her and the others, she invokes her most-used spell; "Scutum, shield of the skies, I bear you now to protect my allies. A bulwark of stellar might, to guard in the darkest night." The astral veil sweeps around as many as she can manage, augmenting their own preparations, and she relies upon it herself to keep safe. As for dealing with things... the big one going towards the mirror, and its obvious importance, has her turning her focus there.

"Corona Borealis, born by the Princess of the North, your glacial winds I call forth. Bring along a blizzard's ice, paying forth the tundra's price." Estelle snaps her fan open, and sweeps it wide to hurl the wintery gale at the impossibly big goblin.
Baroness Wake
Mac Anu - Sewers

Baroness Wake arrives. Probably not in the nick of time. That seems to have passed already. She finds herself arriving mere moments before the assault begins. There's little time to even take-in the situation!

The Baroness comes ready, dressed in a body suit as dark as shadows, and to avoid the many darts of the enemy, she seems to fold right into the darkness itself. It's not that she tumbles through the storm, but instead simply flickers from place to place, as if there was a serious issue with her frame rate.

There is time to speak, but due to her evasive maneuvers, it sounds quite strange, as the sentence starts at one distance and angle and continues on at a very different one.

"So... just a whole bunch of goblins, then. And a mirror. Why are mirrors always trouble? Can't a mirror ever just be a mirror?" She doesn't sound afraid, but there is a tinge of annoyance in her voice.
Mikage
Mac Anu - Sewers

There had been precious time to catch her breath, and Mikage had spent much of it looking for any way to firm up their defenses, with little result to show for it. Rama trots at her side, his muzzle smeared with dark liquid that may have been from biting a beholder in the butt.

The sound of approaching enemies is met with Rama's ears folding back and Mikage uttering a curse under her breath before falling back away from the door. She checks her stock of arrows, pulling a few more out of her inventory and shoving them into the quiver before taking up a defensive position.

Dawnbreaker is a capable enough weapon, but it is also powerful enough to be able to knock away a couple of arrows that head in her direction, even as she moves to avoid them, ducking between shots from the enemy crossbows.

"Think we've got enough mana left?" She asks, looking at Rama, her expression uncertain. "Well, we can at least slow them down a little." Mikage presses her hand flat to the ground, sending a scattering of frost and ice forth, trying to slow down or trip up the Goblins, making it harder for them to get solid footing.
Erufu
Mac Anu - Sewers

Erufu is just recovering she's not too badly off she's chugging few potions sure. She's however been helping out people who are in far more need of help she looks to the Goblin Slayer for a moment. They don't even get to breathe for ten minutes. When something comes in half the time and as a swarm of goblin pile into the room and worse there's a giant one she'll look at the big one.

"It's going for the mirror!"

She'll notch several arrows causing them to rain down upon the Champion trying to slow them down.

"Because mages love to make them into relics, we need to bring the big one down he's big enough he could right the mirror and let more goblins in!"

She calls back to the Baroness.
Amalthea
Mac Anu - Sewers

On the one hand, it's good to have her sword arm back. On the other hand, there's just no rest for the weary.
As goblins swarm the room, Amalthea is back on her feet, sword in hand, shield raised. Crossbow bolts spang off her shield and armor as she takes to the fore of the group and...
    The Champion arrives.
A sick feeling takes to the pit of the old Paladin's stomach, something about it is bending the Laws of Alba over its knee and she does not know WHAT, just that she senses the most massive disturbance in The Force she has ever felt thus far.
"Oh. He's a big boy." She murmurs. And as others begin to call out their attacks, Amalthea simply raises her blade-- and starts wading into the goblins, hacking and slashing her way through the green tide like a Dynasty Warriors protagonist.
Fukasa Yuri
Mac Anu - Sewers

Well you see, the thing is. There are reinforcements! And among those reinforcements are... Fukasa Yuri, the lily of the depths! Who has semi-recently been here and even has a useless fragment of a map in her inventory now thanks to the goblins here!

But mostly, Mac Anu was kind of one of her favorite cities because it's just great for a water user like herself.

Lots of water around. And lots of monsters to drown.

Daggers and wicked weapons storm through the area, and ... attempt to stab at her! Several bursts of water later, and Yuri was just out of the way of those attacking goblins, rolling her eyes at them. "Don't you know, Baroness? Mirrors are gateways. So of course they're always in trouble!" Fukasa calls out with a playful smirk.

And then she lifts her hands, casting a quick spell to summon her twin monster pufferfish. "Alright, those attacking the scourge, make good use of this!" She snaps her fingers, and a deluge of water is unleashed among the scourge, attempting to encapsulate the monsters in water bubbles that leave them weak to attacks! Like hers. When she stabs them.
Shiruba
Mac Anu - Sewers

This was expected to be a very intense and hazardous mission. So it was only sound strategy to keep some of the amassed Adventurers in reserve, and move in to reinforce the initial advances when they needed it. Honestly, they got farther than it was expected before needing fresh faces, but now was the time to make sure they didn't loose the ground they had gained.

Just in time, too, as it seems the next swarm of goblins are on their way almost immeadiately after the calvary has started to arrive. Shiruba turns her attention in the Goblin Slayer's direction a moment when he comments on the Goblin Champion. "YOU haven't seen one that big before? That's not reassurin--Ow!" And gets a crossbow bolt in the shoulder for her trouble, not quite quick enough to dart out of the way when there's so many bodies amassing in the same area. "They must want that mirror back really badly..."

She whips a couple of arrows from her hip quiver and nocks them into her bow. "Don't let their mass numbers overwhelm the people engaging the Champion!" She fires both arrows in rapid succession, but there's so goddamn many bodies in the room it's impossible to tell if she actually hits anything or not.
Merek
Mac Anu - Sewers

Merek looks to the goblin champion when it comes up to the place to take on the party, and looks to be moving for that mirror. He nods a bit, then he takes a look to all of the people. "I'll use it then," he notes, then he lifts up a hand while a Light Sigil above everyone seems to shimmer. It will offer a nice little warmth for all that are in the place, and it begins to boost up their defense along with health. "Healing Force Field!"
Goldenblade
Mac Anu - Sewers

Goldenblade has been ready to fight goblins all day, and whe they appear, it's a bit of a relief. At least in the 'it has /finally/ hit the fan' sense of waiting for something bad that you know is going to happen eventually has finally happened. She's not so much glad to see them as wondering when they were going to show up. "That's more like it," she smirks as they show up in waves, and she's forced to dodge their erratic archery as goblin crossbowmen try to soften us up.

She darts over to the champion, figuring that he's up to bo good and determined to stop it. By force of violence, it seems, but he doesn't give the impression he's open to discussion. She's heard that had been tried previously with unsuccessful results. So, she goes in with both swords blazing, and in this case, it's only a metaphor. For the moment. Fierce blows struck with as much force as she can muster dink the monstrous HP bar very slightly, though the combined effect of all the heroes is noticable.
Syx
Mac Anu - Sewers

"Oh shit that is a lot of gobbos!"

Yeah this is going to be bad. FOR THEM! Syx rushes straight towards the incoming horde of Goblins. This is exactly the kind of reason why he comes to stuff like this. Sure the others can worry about the mirror or whatever is going on, he is going to dive straight into the horde and go to town.

"Come on you fuckers, lets go!" He jumps up and lands in the midst of a group throwing out a spinning slash kick in order to try to take out as many Goblins as he can with the single blow.
Proteus
Mac Anu - Sewers

After Proteus was healed, she quietly perched on the fallen Soul Mirror and examined what she could of it. A relic of this magnitude, even inconveniently placed as it is, will be something worth looking over. An Arcane Eye floats around her as she runs her fingers over the edges of the Mirror and she takes copious notes with her other hand, muttering to herself. The sense of foreboding is just something you have to get used to in ruins.

What does draw her attention is the sense of something more fundamentally wrong: The Laws of Alba are being broken. "It's coming." She mutters, looking up with her eyes narrowing beneath her hood. The arrival of the exceptionally large Chamption gets a glare from Proteus. "And there's the culprit. I guess we're going to have to find out just what tricks you have on hand, hmm?" Paradox is drawn back out, the bow snapping into place as she begins sighting, perhaps planning on ending the battle before it begins...

But she pitches forward, a crimson light on her back from the stab left there by the Goblin. "Ggh! You little...!" She turns, sweeping the bow to one side and revealing that one of the edges of that weapon is quite sharp. She spins and leaps into the air, drawing the string back as she points the puzzle-weapon to the ground. A window pops open, filling with gesture signs: ) - O

The bow surges with Light energy, released from the central focusing lens and blasting downwards in an expanding wash, the Holy blast surging over the enemy Goblin forces. "We'll push them back! Keep on it!"
Rizadoman
Mac Anu - Sewers

Rizadoman raises a bubble of water around him that seems to catch several of the arrows , " Slayer shall be happy with the goblins, he was quite disappointed at the not goblins earlier. " Rizadoman makes note of where the champion is moving and moves to stand on top of the mirror, if only to add the weight of a six and a half foot tall Lizardman on top of the already incredibly heavy mirror. If the champion also got to the mirror they would be able to meet eye to eye.
Baroness Wake
Mac Anu - Sewers

"Fair point!" Wake shouts back to Fukasa. She punctuates it by grabbing and then throwing a goblin at another. While the monster does a remarkable three rotations, it fails to stick the landing. Which is to say that it is stuck through on the blade of its goblin partner and shatters into a storm of pixels.

"I feel like this battle needs more heroic banter! I'll start!" Wake calls out.

She swiftly leaps back from the blade of yet another goblin, then assists the creature in its performance by breaking its leg with a blinding kick. The monster falls on its side and flails about uselessly.

"Funny, I thought that was supposed to be good luck.."
Prophylaxis
Mac Anu - Sewers

Indeed, everyone is being seen by the doctor, who is /absolutely/ sure that the other goblin-shaped shoe hasn't yet dropped. Maybe it was a mistake to spend so much time and attention making sure everyone had properly regrown their limbs, spleens, and other sundry body parts. It means he is, personally, somewhat exhausted by the end of it. Even judicious application of stamina and mana potions to his own person (never self medicate under normal circumstances, kids!) isn't enough to clear his mind of fatigue and racing thoughts-- not in time for the Goblin Champion's arrival, or that of his swarming retinue.

'Hit the healer first' is a tried and true tactic, even among goblins. Prophylaxis winces when a makeshift, filth-ridden arrow buries itself in his shoulder and hastily applies an antidote to offset the creeping toxin. "It's going for the mirror... I suppose a monster like that is exactly strong enough to turn it back over. Damnit." The doctor clicks his teeth as he splays his freshly-regenerated fingers at the swarming goblins. From each digit, a spray of flame licks outward, setting a half-dozen of the creatures alight in an instant. But...

There are so many of them...!
Liminality
Mac Anu - Sewers

Water rapidly creeps up the legs of the Champion. But it's of such size that just on her own, Mizuki is managing just to get the bottom of its feet. There's a moment there it pauses when the mass freezes... only for it to snap, crackle. But Estelle's ice quickly reinforces around the continued flow of water. It cracks and further causes the massive thing to almost stumble... before it /shatters/ ice in all directions. Some of the shards piercing through goblin bodies and necks, and others splashing towards the melee Adventurers. But this just makes Fukasa a more ready target. Some of the goblins switching to her. Surging on her position and grabbing, trying to tug on her hear. To pull at her foot and get her to loose her footing. She manages to get her water spell off, lifting some of them, but their numbers are sickening. Shiruba's arrows catch a few of them as they get raised to the air, but she can't quite defend Fukasa.

Baroness Wake in the meantime, comes up from the rear. Her flickerstep like presence seemingly avoiding the first of their stabs, shattering a few goblin skulls on her way through the hallway, and throwing a few into the air here and there. But the Goblins begin to /flood/ her like some kind of living wave of green. Grabbing at her clothing. Trying to stab their daggers into her legs, into her arms, into her flesh.

Some of them get pierced in the middle of their assault on her, as Mikage's driving attack from the ground sends spikes of ice straight up into their bodies, ripping them from their assault and allowing Baroness Wake to break free from them. Joining in this assault on the Scourge is the Goblin Slayer himself. Hacking into Goblin skulls, tactically planning routes that don't surround him. Stab, stab. Kill. Whispering their numbers to himself. His blade gets lodged into a Goblin body, so he takes an axe that one of them was carrying and chops through another one's neck. Amalthea joins at the other side, shielding Goblin Slayer from any deadly flanks, keeping remarkable pace with him!

Behind him, Erefu's arrows find their target. Lodging into the massive Goblin Champion and weaning away a little bit of its health. But the thick hide makes them barely even stick. And the grease on his skin makes some of them deflect off of his body! Goldenblade's blades stab into its foot as it lifts it and tries to kick her away. Her damage planting into it right as its foot hits her in the stomach and sends her back again!

Merek's sudden force of Sanctuary spreads through the chamber, raising peoples' defenses and further helping with their heal over time. But they constant barrage of arrows is making it hard to keep up the healing against these things! Syx tries to reduce their numbers with his flaming kicks - heads caving easily. The Goblins are singularly not much of a threat, but in these numbers, it's a far bigger problem. Proteus is followed by the Goblins as she jumps, clearly intending on making sure that the moment she lands - even as she gets her Holy attack off against a few of them and erases them from existance - that they can grab her and take hold. To swarm her.

The massive Champion Goblin then goes down to one knee, right as it reaches the mirror. Crushing a few goblins beneath that knee and grabs hold of the mirror... and begins to lift it... with /significant/ difficulty. There's this strain in its arms, even at the size it is at. There's that heated sound of metal on earth, and more notably, that vile sound of metal /grinding/ against the tile! Slowly lifting while it grins at the Lizardman. Clearly his weight is insignificant compared to the mirror itself.

Flames light up the chamber as Prophylaxis tries not to get overrun. Jet after jet swallowing some of them. But the Goblins keep coming. Grabbing at his coat. Climbing onto his shoulder in an attempt to get high enough to stab a dagger right into his eye!

As the mirror comes up, that same view is visible once more. Even at its half angle, it gleams enough. Air pushing out from the other side. The light from this side showing it once again. That green rocky ground. The goblins still on approach en-masse from the distance. Closer now. Still a few minutes out at least. That absolutely massive antenna-carrying half-orb in the distance.

The champion's voice then rattles in an utterly broken language. "Todaya attackon Immaniticity begin. You drown in Goblin!"
Rizadoman
Mac Anu - Sewers

Rizadoman protects himself from the attack of the scourage, his lizard hide toughening as the bolts deflect off his skin. and looks at the grinning champion. Then almost stumbles off the mirror when the champion begins to lift it and shakes for a moment unsteady before he rushes forward and launches off the mirror trying to dig claws and teeth into the Goblin to distract him, but his grip and plans seems to be not going as well as he imagined a moment ago when he pictured it in his head.
Estelle
Mac Anu - Sewers

There's a frown as the champion reaches its objective... but what the mirror reveals, as it rises, steals the breath from Estelle's lungs. Her silver eyes widen, staring for a long moment. Until the whistling of an incoming blade shocks her back into motion, ducking and diving and letting the lingering light of Scutum handle the glancing blows that result. "... the Green Moon..." she murmurs to herself, seeing the green rock and the horde of goblins behind it. "I guess it truly is their birthplace." A few things click in her head, but... The Champion is still a problem. So she breathes deep, and pushes aside that burning curiosity and impulse.

"Mul Uga Mushen, your cry heralds the rain. Through you I invoke your master's domain." She chants, raising the fan high and snapping it shut. Astral light sketches the Raven constellation in the air above her. "Cry, cry, to set the heavens alight, as I guide down a fearsome smite!" They're underground, but that does nothing to stop the electrical discharge that thunders through the room, striking the champion.
Fukasa Yuri
Mac Anu - Sewers

More attacks incoming. And Fukasa Yuri is just... hanging out there, maintianing her spells and equickly dodging out of the way of any incoming attacks. Hmm. What to do, what to do... oh. She knows. She lifts her hand. More water.

She spins her trident in her hands, flicking her gaze through the goblin horde... and taking a deep breath, "I'll try to cut a path so that whoever is attacking the champion can do so with minimal tripping!" Fuka calls out, and then she lifts her hands, her two pufferfish unleashing...
"WHIRLING DISC!" And sends two of those whirling cutting water discs through the crowd of goblins to attempt to cut a literal path through them!
Mikage
Mac Anu - Sewers

There is a feeling of tension that comes as the Champion makes its way over towards the mirror. They had only just stopped the monsters from pouring through, and now that was all being undone. Rama gives a yowl of protest. "I know, but stay close. We could easily get separated with all these Goblins."

She continues to move, sweeping around Rama and making sure that the feline is able to stay out of direct line of sight with any of the Goblin archers. She is able to avoid taking too much damage, though the numbers still seem intimidating.

With her attention firmly on the huge monster, Mikage channels light magic, glowing from the stone that sits at the heart of Dawnbreaker. It radiates from around the point of her arrow as she aims and fires towards the creature, trying to do enough damage to distract it from its task of supporting the mirror, or at least make it a heck of a lot harder.
Merek
Mac Anu - Sewers

Merek begins lifting up a hand to draw an aero shield about him, then he blasts away the assault upon him while he takes the time to begin forming his magic fireball. Then he throws that into the creature. The man then will wield his weapon while he waits, sweeeping along in.
Goldenblade
Mac Anu - Sewers

Goldenblade winces as she's kicked away by the champion, rolling with the impact and rising to her feet quickly to avoid counterattack. Looking around warily, she tries to survey the battlefield, since situational awareness in a fight is not a thing she's trained for. Sadly, it's just what her first impression told her it was. So, she rushes back into the fray, though, determined as ever, and striking heavy blows with her swords, striking like a hammer with each stroke of her blade.
Shiruba
Mac Anu - Sewers

There's very little room to move evasively, so Shiruba switches tactics to try and clear some space around herself, stomping a foot dramatically to the ground as if the gesture itself would keep her from being moved. "BRAKE WIND!" Fortunately it is more than that as a brief but potent cyclone whips to life around her, hair and tail flailing in the winds as they knock aside arrows and lunging goblins alike. She grits her teeth, fangs showing out of the corners of her mouth as she does so.

"Keep bringing them, and we'll keep killing them!"

The wolfgirl bolts a few quick steps once she's got some space, trying to maneuver closer to Erufu and her team of goblin experts, the air swirling around her starting to fade off. "Let's show these little bastards what some real archers can do!" She makes a snatching motion with her right hand, as if grabbing some of the fading elemental energy from her defensive spell, and grabbing the string of Thundershow Howl with it. As she pulls back on it that etheral energy is drawn in again, the force of churning storm winds consolidating into a single arrow of elemental power. "North Winds wail in a gathering gale... TYPHOON SHOT!" She releases and the projectile does indeed wail as it erupts from her longbow, sending a screaming blast of shearing air tearing through the ranks of the Goblin Scourge.
Mizuki
Mac Anu - Sewers

Mizuki sees the champion about to break free of the ice, and hits the deck before it shatters! Which, unfortunately, gives goblins a chance to dogpile (catpile?) her. At least it's not poisoned this time, so she just grunts in pain instead of screaming, and focuses on...

Her fur and hair begin to move like flames; tufts of fire curling from her mouth, before she takes a breath and ROARS, a burst of flame flowing up around her and exploding outward, turning goblins to ash!

Mizuki stands up, in a somewhat bestial pose with claws extended, grey-white hair flowing dramatically in the hot breeze coming off the flaming goblins around her.

Damn, that would look cool if only someone could take a screenshot right now.
Baroness Wake
Mac Anu - Sewers

The press of goblins is considerable. Fortunately, a skintight body suit doesn't leave much to grab. The downside is, the attempted grabbing is more annoying. While she generally is known for keeping her emotions carefully concealed, there are exceptions. Grabbiness is one of them. Wake is swiftly and intensely annoyed.

    "KYAH!!"

The Baroness erupts from the midst of the pile, scattering several leaves in this forest of goblins. She finds her footing swiftly on their heads, and races across them with stomp after powerful stomp. This leaves a trail of destroyed goblins behind her and simultaneously invents a new form of crowd-surfing.
Amalthea
Mac Anu - Sewers

    It spoke.
Not only did it speak but just seeing the thing makes Amalthea get butterflies in her stomach in that very-not-pleasant way whenever the Laws of Alba are being bent over a knee.
There are so many goblins, though... But that doesn't stop her from spamming her taunts, trying to keep the mob off the Slayer and as many other Adventurers as she can.
Part of her wonders what number the Goblin Slayer is up to, in a horde like this. Another part of her is more concerned with trying to protect the Lander's flank as she hacks and slashes, felling another goblin with each swing of her sword.
Erufu
Mac Anu - Sewers

Erufu riddles the Goblin Champion with arrows as other bring their wrath upon it. With spell and BNalde but it's not enough to stop the thing and then come something she would never expect. It's speaking in common, the green skin is speaking in common. Worse it's bigger than these things normally are. Worse the mirror is coming back online as it moves to get it back up. It gloats that an invasion is coming that they will all drown in goblins. She shudders to think what could happen to all of them.

So long as the champion is in play? It will hinder any efforts to block the portal again. At this rate, the mirror needs to be bloody well buried in a volcano or something like the One Ring.

She'll draw another shot and fire also throwing a single gold coin aiming for the Goblin's head with it.

"Not today greenie!"
Prophylaxis
Mac Anu - Sewers

'Hey Doctor,' a kitty cat asks, 'Why don't you just hit the giant artifact-mirror with lightning bolts until it shatters into a kajillion pieces?'

Well, first and foremost, the doctor is presently drowning in a veritable deluge of goblins. So that's kind of a problem. Prophylaxis unleashes a litany of curses, a flood of obscenities and a broadside of slander at the swarming goblins-- but that does nothing to help him. His words only seem to inflame their passions, to stoke the fires of bloodlust burning in their awful, gobliny hearts.

One goes to drive a knife into his eye. It doesn't get the chance.

There's a crackling fwoosh of flame as the doctor surrounds himself in a bonfire. He walks out of it with the stride of an angry schoolteacher and lifts his staff to the goblin champion.

Its headpiece crackles. Electricity arcs from the smoldering floor to the gem at its base, then up to the emerald at its zenith. His incantation is silenced by a roar of thunder as a surging column of lightning pours out of the top of his staff, smashes into the ceiling, and then rains down on top of the massive goblin like a torrential electric downpour. The problem is...

                            <<IMMORTAL OBJECT>>
                            <<IMMORTAL OBJECT>>
                            <<IMMORTAL OBJECT>>

"Damn," Prophylaxis huffs. "Must be more immortal than that other object...!" At least that much electricity should be enough to cause the goblin champion's limbs to convulse. Enough of that and it should drop the mirror... right?
Proteus
Mac Anu - Sewers

The Goblins chase Proteus, trying to swarm her down, but the first one to lunge for her gets Proteus lashing out with a fist, slamming the little terror in the gut and hooking it around to act as a living shield for the next attacks coming in. The attacks of the others sweep around her, pushing the Goblins back for a moment, but her gaze turns to the problem of the Champion, who is /already picking up the mirror/. "HOW?" She gasps. "HOW CAN ONE CREATURE EVEN DO THAT?" Proteus grimaces.

She shakes her head. "Focus, Proteus." She points, a window opening as she begins to trace lines into the input. "I'm not going to let you just have your way...!" She says, as she begins using something a little unorthodox... "Let's see you unravel this puzzle...!"

                                   ( ! J

The enigmatic Ability is called up, and with a CLANK noise, the progress of the Mirror is (at least momentarily) halted by bands of arcane runic locks that try to stop its movement right where it is, holding it fast in its position.

"Gggh...!" Proteus grimaces immediately. "I'm not sure how long this is going to last! Stop the Champion! If it gets that Mirror back up, we're not budging it anytime soon!"
Syx
Mac Anu - Sewers

Syx is doing what he can to reduce the numbers of the goblins. But holy hell there's a lot of them.

"Hey! Not cool! I didn't sign up for a handicap match!"

The numbers seem to keep increasing even as he goes to work on the goblins. His kicks are working but he could be more effective. So he knocks over one of the Goblins and grabs it by the leg, "Eat goblin, goblin!" He starts swinging the goblin by the leg, using it as a goblin flail to try to wail on the other goblins with it.
Liminality
Mac Anu - Sewers

The Adventurers are a bit shaken, with the revelation of the parrot-like speech of the massive Champion, its voice deep and powerful enough to make the air around him tremble. His enormous form difficult to damage even with their continued assault. But they are most certainly making a different. The Goblins in the distance of the mirror's view begin to run forward!

As Rizadoman tries to jump the Champion, it quickly grabs at the arm Rizadoman puts forward, and then with a fierce throw, slams him towards the ground - releasing just at the last second so he can push more against the mirror and push it further up. Then suddenly, lightning!

Violent lightning comes down, Estelle being the first to bring it down upon the massive body of the Champion. The massive creature grits its teeth, some of the grease on his body 'cooking off' as the electric force ripples through him.

<< IMMORTAL OBJECT >>

<< IMMORTAL OBJECT >>

Goes the Mirror in the midst of it all! Right before Prophylaxis pours on top of that!

<< IMMORTAL OBJECT >>

<< IMMORTAL OBJECT >>

<< IMMORTAL OBJECT >>

<< IMMORTAL OBJECT >>

A constant rain of lightning coursing through the beast, making his arms weak, his legs shake. But with just how enormous it is, they're not quite getting to that critical mass of damage to make him drop the mirror. Certainly, the mirror is not remotely looking like it's even approaching exhaustion on the matter of its system protection. Though shadowy hands begin to reach out towards the Champion, trying to grab him, trying to pull him through the mirror. And Mikage's arrow that impacts him does cause one of his hands to slip for a moment, his thumb going through...

Which he then pulls back, followed by another sudden deep rush of air that causes all the flames in use in the battle to suddenly rise up in fierceness. The fireball that collides with the Champion growing more sizable and almost /blue/ as it does so! Flaring all around and threatening to touch the various adventurers around him! Goldenblade has to duck beneath the wild fires to land their hammer-like swing, slamming down on its foot, trying to get it to release its hold on the mirror! Erufu's arrows cut into the massive Champion, who is starting to stretch out his arms, getting some control back... only for the push to suddenly halt as Arcane locks grip onto the mirror. The feet of the Champion crushing against the ground, as it strains against Proteus' lock that is stopping the mirror from being raised further. The Goblin Champion growls something, looking around, trying to find the source of his magic. But it's clear the Champion isn't smart enough to understand what Proteus is saying!

Fukasa creates a path in the rear, ripping down small goblin bodies and manages to get through and make it to the main battlefront - helping Baroness Wake get through as well - who runs out 'on top' of the wake of those cutting discs, jumping onto and crushing head by head. Only for the waters to get swallowed by up Shiruba's bow shot which rushes back across the battlefield, creating this disjointed 'V' shape where Goblins are shattering apart into bright light!

Mizuki's flames detonate outwards, and latch onto her fur and face. The heat getting far more extreme than it should have. Something about the flow of air coming from the mirror making her flames just extremely potent! Syx steps in, protecting Mizuki from a Goblin that was aiming a bow's arrow at her, flinging another goblin into the path of that arrow and then slamming into the one who shot it to begin with! Others simply being left in his way, destroyed and utterly annihilated by the martial kicker.

"Fifty-five." Amalthea hears over the din of Goblins falling. It's like the Goblin Slayer is just playing Beatsaber, and he's getting every single one of the slices perfectly. She may be keeping up in position, but he's managing to roughly double the goblins he slays by the minute now. It's almost like he's gotten in this zone... this trance of slaying Goblins. His red light seeming to come from one side of his helmet, underlined by this heated breath - measured, but dangerously focused. Still, she can tell that he's nearing the limits of what he can do. If she was not there, dutifully at his flank... there are plenty of Goblins who might have slipped through his defenses and gotten a dangerous stab in.

There's a pause though, as the Goblin Slayer looks back in a short lull of goblin activity...

The goblins on the other side of the mirror are /just/ about to get through next round... and the Goblin Champion has too much health to get down, even with Proteus having made sure the mirror doesn't go upright. If nothing stops their entry, everything is about to go very, very, very wrong. Especially as those present can see the INSPECTs of some of the goblins on the other side. And they are higher level than the many goblins here right now. None of them read red or orange. But... there is that really big one in the back lines!

The goblin swarm on their side of the chamber persists as well. And the Champion, leaning his shoulder against the mirror now to keep it upright, grabs the club that was laying on the ground with his foot, pushes it into his hand, hefts it up, and then swings it with such immense force that it creates a WAVE of air through the chamber which then starts creating a strange effect within the entire room!

People in the room starting to... get dizzy. Getting a distinct feeling of utter nausea, and their vision starts to blur. It comes in waves, each time that massive Champion swings its massive club from near that mirror!
Fukasa Yuri
Mac Anu - Sewers

Holding her breath is not exactly a particularly threatening thing for Fukasa Yuri. In fact, she pretty much just... counters it by drowning /herself/ and putting herself in a protective bubble of water, which she can just breathe casually in, not worrying too much about the situation. She absently treads water, the bubble moving with her as she swims along in the 'air', drawing her spear out and starting to just... casually stab at the various goblins around her. Hmm. What to do for real though. Oh she knows. More water. She lifts her hand towards the goblins with a smirk, as a shard of ice starts to form above her hand. "Ice to meet you, goblins." She says cheerfully, before HURLING that massive shard of ice towards the roof, which shatters, unleashing a wave of icy spikes down towards the goblins below!
Mikage
Mac Anu - Sewers

The Goblins are getting too close.

Mikage steps forward, just about to open her mouth to say something when that gust of air strikes her, nearly knocking the wind out of her chest. She gasps once, coughs, and then raises a scarf over her nose, trying to avoid becoming overwhelmed by whatever the attack was doing to her system.

Gasping, she calls out, "I'll... slow them down." She pulls the blue stone from Dawnbreaker, the crystal glimmering in her hand as the energy seems to retreat from the weapon as it is removed. Channeling her own magic into it, she raises it above her head.

"Power of the Pale Blue. Give us a barrier to block their path." She extends her hand forward, the relic glowing as magical energy flickers to life from within it. As it activates, there is a brief flash of light. Then, just in front of the mirror, it materializes into a glowing barrier.

Mikage is using her magic and the power of her relic to, at least momentarily, try to keep the Goblins from passing through the mirror.
Rizadoman
Mac Anu - Sewers

Rizadoman looks at the creature as he picks himself up and takes in a deep breath before letting out a roar that any monster would hear as a challenge before the lizardman starts to get a little light headed. With a deep breath he takes in as much air pressing a small pin into a pressure point he closes his eyes for a moment. Those that know Rizadoman could almost hear him praying to his ancestors for the gift of their strength, calling on the strength of the Brontosaurus. With his eyes open Rizadoman rushes forward and grabs at the Champion and with strength well beyond a thousand Rizadoman, he attempts to pull the Goblin champion out from under the mirror and throw the monster into a wall. Only after his attack would he try to breath again.
Goldenblade
Mac Anu - Sewers

Goldenblade ducks beneath the wild fires and starts to cough, or choke, and quickly reaches into her belt-pouch for her bottle of air that she keeps ready for emergencies. She takes several deep breaths from the bottle to get her head clear, and she'll breathe from the bottle while the air lasts. She's not suer what's wrong with the rest of the air, but hopefully someone can clear it out.

She fights on, leaving the complucated technical bits to the others. She knows a bit, but they seem to have things under control, so she won't complicate things by guessing wrong and making it worse. She thrusts deep with her golden blades, sinking into the bits of the champion she can reach, stealing more of its precious health.
Estelle
Mac Anu - Sewers

Whatever the Champion is doing, it's making Estelle feel woozy. It's not a feeling she likes, as she tries to shake it off... but it is something she can work through, and so she does. She eases her breathing, makes sure it's not racing, and latches on to various techniques that have helped her keep on her feet over the years. Even if the weakness and trembling in her limbs brings back a black, grasping feeling in the back of her head. That is not her life now. She focuses on the voices of the others, and the cries of the goblins, as a polaris to follow forward.

And so she chants, fan snapping open above her hear. "Oh Symbol of the South, with your wings aflame, I guide you now with mortal aim." She sweeps it down, air and fire following the motion. "Cast down crimson feathers with searing blame, and show the world your boundless flame." A torrent of it swirls up around the Champion, trying to burn it back alongside the hands grasping from the mirror's other side, before that glowing barrier snaps into place.

... partially because she's moving, herself. With others shoving the Champion aside, with that barrier building, there's little other chance. Even as she knows it's a bit... foolhardy, the key to some of the secrets she's chasing is Right There. She's already building the magic for another spell, to help her. And then she's stepping up onto the edge of the building blue light, and ducking through the mirror, tails trailing behind her.

"... You've got this side handled. But there I things I need to see, need to gather. See you in a day or two." She calls back, before looking forward as she passes through. "Vela, the wanderer's sail..."
Erufu
Mac Anu - Sewers

Erufu's cored a good hit but it's still only part of what's needed more and more power is brought against the goblin champion, not to mention the swarm. Yet they keep on coming there is no seemingly end to them. They need to get the mirror out of the game. Goblin Slayer is busy keeping the horde thinned out yet more fill the place of the others. Worse she catches a look through the mirror. The goblins are a hell of a lot higher level over there. They may not be ready for it.

The Champion has almost won even if they kill him soon it may be too late, worse comes the move she's never seen before she's feeling dizzy and nauseated too. She's trying to get off a shot while like this and it doesn't go too well she is able to push through it though.

"This has to be ended now!"
Merek
Mac Anu - Sewers

Merek looks like that wave that the goblin sends to them hits, then he tries to shift a little bit while he draws his alchemist's fire from the hip. Well, looks like there is not a way to do any defense with that. He then throws a few chemicals to Prophylaxis, "That should be everything you need for explosions! I worked chemistry and gardening in real life!"
"ESTELLE! WE NEED YOU HERE TO PROTECT PEOPLE!" The man watches while she travels right into the mirror. He then will give a little spin on the hip while he draws up a magical bow, to shoot an arrow into the goblin champion. "Come on, we need to win." The man doesn't have a lot of non-mundane nice tricks.
Amalthea
Mac Anu - Sewers

    55 already?
And that number is only getting higher as seconds pass and the Slayer has more opportunity to lay into his hated foes.
But there are still so many.
And the Champion is hoisting the mirror.
Once again Amalthea can see the TRUE green tide on the other side, and that strange, strange, construct looming over it all.
What the hell is that thing she wonders to herself amid the chaos while her sword arm robotically lashes out at anything green and shorter than three feet tall.
"Holy hell..." She whispers to herself, voice lost under the din of the battle.
And then things go from bad to worse, when the Champion swings his club.
Her vision blurs. Nausea fills the pit of her stomach, and she falters briefly.
But it's only briefly as she does what she does best.

    "... ANCHOR HOWL!"

Spamming her taunt rotations all over again on top of her most potent aggro-drawing skill, she tries to pull the attention of as many of the smaller bastards in the room to her while Mikage hopefully holds the mirror shut, her blade arm turns into an automated goblin killing machine, sword flashing in her grasp as she reduces blighter after bugger to red pixels.
Mizuki
Mac Anu - Sewers

She feels nauseous... fortunately, tiger were fangs have good constitution, right? (Even if tigers used to smoke, which you'd think would be horrible for their lungs. Huh.) Mizuki calls up some air to try and clear her immediate air, and gets distracted talking chemistry with Proph over the chimlink while various strategies run through her mind. She could go to the other side of the mirror, put up an earth wall, and try to make it back in time... they could just try to burst down the champion... Prophy has plans involving a dust explosion, which sounds like it will kill everyone here... Maybe she could call an earth pillar from the CEILING to try and hold the mirror down? But the champion might just break it... If only there were a way to make it let go...

    Ah.

"I'm gonna make that goblin champion regret life!" Grinning viciously, she calls up some water, runs towards the mirror and LEAPS, trying to latch onto the goblin champion's fingers! Splashing the mirror and fingers before freezing it, trying to numb fingers and make the mirror slippery at the same time as she claws and bites as savagely as she can!

Monsters can feel pain and numbness, right?
Shiruba
Mac Anu - Sewers

Shiruba is doing her best to keep the pressure on the hordes of green bastards flooding around them with her shots, but in the sheer chaos of the huge fight she's lost track of what's going on with the Champion. Up until that wash of unfathomable force sweeps across the room, hammering her directly in the lupine senses as it sends her staggering into a wall. Several goblins swarm to capitalize on the moment, forcing her to kick and shove them away before she's completely goblinpiled. And even then, as she pushes off from the wall to get to her feet, tail snaps back and forth trying to refind a balance point as she struggles fighting off the urge to retch what she had for dinner all over the dungeon floor. She manages to resist but her head is swimming and her vision refuses to clear from the effects...

So she turns in the direction of the Mirror and the Goblin Champion accousting it, then closes her eyes even as she's drawing one of her obsidian tipped arrows and drawing it into her bow. The best way she has to deal with the faulty vision is to not rely on it.

Shiruba takes aim with sheer skill and remembering his position before she fires.. and manages to still score the hit! That jagged crystallized arrowhead with plunge deep through even thick monsterous flesh, and aggrivate the damage with the dark energy it releases deep within the wound. Hopefully she hit him with it hard enough to tear down some of that remaining health, because this fight is going to only get worse for them if it attritions any longer!
Baroness Wake
Mac Anu - Sewers

"I am... really sick of goblins!" Wake growls out.

She's just settled back on the earth when the strange nausea wave hits. She has no shield, or cover, but she has her training. It only takes a moment and she wraps her mind itself in protective shadow. There's no other way she can describe it. It doesn't utterly repel the attack, but it fades from her consciousness, sitting on the edge of awareness. It's as if someone were describing to her in great detail what the sensation is rather than feeling it herself.

This allows her the freedom to strike unimpeded by illness. And strike she does.

Wake's shifting tactics. It's hard to counter someone who is so unpredictable. At least that is her bet. The enemy is close, and everywhere around her. Wake gets even closer, no longer kicking or punching, but grappling, moving from one broken body to the next, bending one limb to an unpleasant angle, then simply crushing the next in an almost serpentine constriction.

Syx
Mac Anu - Sewers

Syx can hear the group arguing about something over the raid chat. He doesn't really know what they're rambling about. Just hit things, they'll die eventually. That's always his plan. There's no time to think outside the box, especially when the box is awesome looking fighting!

Syx wheels around to scatter the goblins away from him for a moment, and then drops into a different stance. And then he takes off running. He hops up, plants his hands on the shoulders of one of the goblins and flips over top of them, landing back on his feet and delivering a lariat to a second goblin with enough force to take its head off.
Proteus
Mac Anu - Sewers

The mirror was being held in place, which is nice and all except it's being held in place in such a way that things can pass back and forth between them. "We need to stop the Champion and block the mirr-ESTELLE!" Proteus turns her head, staring at the woman who walks right into the horde. "You're going to /die/ in there!" She yells, not that it matters. "Ggh!" She mutters, shaking her head. "Well, there's nothing that can be done for it. Good luck..."

She ponders the Mirror. "Mirrors reflect what they see..." She hums. "How was it sealed before? I didn't get a chance to look that over..." Her hand flicks, and she traces another Ability. ( @ S

With a wash of black energy, Proteus tries to make a Dark Wave coalesce over the surface of the Mirror, blocking off light in an attempt to find a way to seal it for a moment.
Prophylaxis
Mac Anu - Sewers

How durable /is/ this monster? Its size is, admittedly, remarkable, but its ability to stay upright in spite of the tremendous punishment its body is suffering would actually be kind of remarkable, if it weren't absolutely terrifying. The doctor grimaces at the sight of it still levering that mirror in gross disregard of its own injuries. There are monsters on the other side. Far too many. And then...

The goblin champion swings. The force of its blow craters the flagstones and sends a rush of air rippling outward-- no. Not just air. Prophylaxis glances at the others, watching as they waver and almost topple. Nausea grips his own stomach, turning it upside-down and inside out as his vision fogs with dizzy uncertainty.

This is... Oxygen poisoning...?

"That means--" Prophylaxis looks to Merek. A plan is developed, and set into motion. The flask of alchemical fire hurtles through the air, sailing toward the goblin champion. Left alone, it would simply splash against him and set him alight- painful, certainly. But not enough. Not nearly enough. And so Prophylaxis adds one more element to the mix. He gestures with his staff and bids a burst of wind slam into the glass, shattering it into a thousand shards-- and, more importantly, scattering its contents into a fine mist.

By the time he casts a miniature spark into the mixture of fuel and air, it's already too late for him to notice-- let alone stop-- Estelle. "Estelle, wait--!"

Too late.

Far too late.

A jolt of electricity leaps from the head of his staff with a fizzy pop and arcs several meters away and directly into the mix of alchemical fuel and hyperoxygenated air surrounding the Goblin Champion.

It's all he can do to drop to the floor and conjure a protective shell of earth as the explosion cooks off. It's a great, big, stone-pulverizing kaboom. Very satisfying, but maybe not as large as it could have been, and only tangentially involved magic.

A solid 6/10 on the explosion grading scale.
Liminality
Mac Anu - Sewers

A rain of ice and water cascades down on the flood of goblins within the chamber. Icicle after icicle crushing onto their heads and into their small bodies as they try to poke through Fukasa's bubble. But she can see that whatever is happening is affecting the Goblins as well! Except, instead of making them sick, it's making them faster! Quicker. Their dull eyes growing sharper as they dodge in between some of her icicles!

Then, a hyper-oxygenated flame suddenly detonates across the Champion's body, licking its body, right before Estelle suddenly jumps through the Mirror, and is forced to duck to the right and start running away from the Goblins. Immediately getting out of sight from the Mirror's view. Notably, she still shows as online. But her chimlink immediately breaks.

That's when Mikage's shield comes up. Goblins slam into the mirror and make silly sounds like something sliding along glass, as her Light Relic powered barrier rises up. The Priestess in the party quickly steps up next to Mikage and whimpers a 'trying to be bold' "I will help! Barrier!" Which slips right behind Mikage's barrier, helping keep the goblins out! Her cheeks puffing up and her head going a bit red as she focuses as hard as she can.

The goblins look 'squished' against the glass for a moment as other Goblins slam behind them. Some of them shattering by the sheer force of being trampled behind them! Some of them breaking off in Estelle's fleeing direction.

Goldenblade continues to hack into the Champion. Carving /chunks/ of its foot at this point. Flaying it alive, so to say. The Goblins have gotten closer on their side of the chamber, but Goblin Slayer is making sure Goldenblade is going unmolested on that point - carving more and more of them down! Erufu tries to fire an arrow, but the massive Champion waves its club, causing the arrow to go off-center and instead sails into one of the nearby goblins! Merek's timing is a bit more lucky, his arrow stabbing right into its eye, now that it's facing the party like this! But he's just about to get overrun by Goblins, when Amalthea calls out for her Anchor Howl! This forces the Goblins to rush her position instead, a position held strong with her and her Lander ally. Slash after slash cutting the approaching Goblins down now that she's pulling SO MANY Goblin targets. Somewhere, a Healer cries at having to 'adjust'.

A freezing rush of ice grabs at the Goblin Champion's fingers, making it harder and harder to hold onto that mirror while it is still fighting Proteus' attempts at holding the mirror down. Most certainly, monsters feel pain and numbness! And with such a focused assault, Mizuki is having the effect she is looking for. The mirror starting to slip and the Champion having to use more of its shoulder! Then, Shiruba's arrow sails through those fingers, SHATTERING them and causing the thing to roar in so much pain, that the entire room quakes!

But notably... the Champion also begins to... shrink a little? Yes, it's definitely starting to shrink! It lets out a confused and angered sound! The goblins momentarily confused, which only makes Baroness Wake's tactics that much more effective. Ramping in between them in such random movements that a drunken master might be proud. Ridding the world of more and more Goblins! She's joined by Syx, employing similar tactics. With a lariat that would make some Angelic Layer Deuses jealous - crushing goblin after goblin!

A Dark Wave moves across the Goblins, ripping out their health and finally washing over the mirror from below, blacking out the surface for a moment. But Proteus can tell that the Goblins are still pushing up against the barriers than Onna Shinkan and Mikage are barely keeping up to stop the wave of Goblins!

That's when Rizadoman suddenly grabs hold of the Goblin Champion. It looks down at him with a sneer, as if to say 'what are you going to do'... right when those claws suddenly DIG into its body, and the Lizardman manages to get /just/ enough leverage to... not just /grab hold/ of the Goblin Champion...

But to throw it! There's this sudden thrash in the air, as the Goblin Champion is legitimately /thrown/ towards a side of the massive hall, and crashes against the wall. The mirror, now released, begins to list forward, and then rapidly fall towards the ground. At the same time, Merek's chemicals arrive to Prophylaxis's hand, and are thrown. It is just moments later that the detonating hit suddenly strikes the Champion while it's still in the middle of shrinking further. That sense that Amalthea had earlier of the law being broken 'waning' the smaller the Goblin Champion grows. Until finally, the flask and Prophylaxis' blasts intersect amidst the hyperoxygenated chamber, and causes a massive DETONATION that takes out part of the wall itself. Red flames glowing purple-blue for a moment as it eats away at all that fuel available to it, before the mirror finally hits the ground with a loud SLAM, the sudden burst of air blowing out the flames and toppling Adventurers and Goblins alike...

The latter of which use that opportunity to try and run out of the chamber as fast as they can!
Mizuki
Mac Anu - Sewers

Mizuki is demonstrating that small sharp things can be INCREDIBLY PAINFUL when Shiruba's arrow freaking SHATTERS the champion's fingers! She whistles appreciatively, then dives for cover when she sees some sort of liquid being thrown the champion's way! KABOOM! She surrounds herself with an aero shield, until the behavior of flames in the room indicates fresh air has been sucked in.

Oh, there are still goblins! Mizuki opens her mouth and does the fire-laser-breath-weapon thing to try and take some out and block the path of those behind them with a wall of fire, before hurling kunai at the little monsters! "Oh no you don't! I never want to see any of you little buggers again!"
Merek
Mac Anu - Sewers

Merek is thrown back by that blast when Prophylaxis begins doing all of that. The man looks up while he takes a moment to nod along to the man, then he shifts to stand up, while he takes a look to fleeing goblins, then the mirror. The man lifts up his bow to begin shooting the ones that are in range. "Alright."
Fukasa Yuri
Mac Anu - Sewers

All these people muttering on their chimlink about going and helping the girl or panicking over her or whatever. Yuri is just listening to that nonsense while she continues to harrass the goblins that were harrassing her right back. She rolls her eyes a bit. "Just /go after her/ then. Geeze." She mutters. Of course, since she's underwater, that comes out more like 'blub blub blub' to everyone else that isn't able to speak underwater languages! Regardless, the goblins seemed to be mostly taken care of... and then there were some that were beginning to run away.

Fukasa Yuri does what she does best. As those goblins flee, she draws forth water, casting several spells in quick succession to just... build it up beyond that wall of fire. And send it after the goblins to flush the damn things out of the sewers. And hopefully drown them.
Rizadoman
Mac Anu - Sewers

Rizadoman angrily looks at the champion as he shrinks back down before the massive explosion throws him off his own feet and into a wall however as Rizadoman stands up he is sure that the beast is dead. Yawning as he feels the effect of his relic leaving him, and his muscles beginning to ache from over use. Looking over at the fleeing goblins and then those standing around the mirror, it is an easy decision and one he is sure his friends would make, though it appears he seems to be hesitating for a moment. Perhaps to make sure no one decides to pick up that mirror again.
Shiruba
Mac Anu - Sewers

Shiruba just isn't going to tell anyone she was trying to rip open his shoulder and hit the hand because of the nausea dropping her shot lower than intended, since it broke his hand off the mirror and accomplished just as much. It got the mirror out of the Goblin Champion's grasp. Or got the Champion off the mirror. Either is probably accurate.

The wolfgirl slumps back against the wall she had previously stumbled into, panting hard a few times to catch her breath with normal air and not the noxious shit the Champion's swings were causing. It helps her head clear some, though it's likely going to take time to wear off completely.

Then she pauses to check her HUD. "... Huh..." Raises a finger as if to tap at a screen she can only see. "... It still shows Estelle as online, thank the Goddesses, but her location is unfindable and her chimlink is disabled... or just too far away."
Amalthea
Mac Anu - Sewers

And in all the insanity of the battle- Estelle leaps into the mirror.
    "Wh-..."
Too late, she's already gone, there's no use calling out for her. Hopefully she'll learn something of worth in there.
But right now Amalthea has almost every single one of the smaller goblins in the room clamoring for her blood.
That Healer can cry some more, because Amalthea is going to make the do their damn job to the fullest as she rails into the goblins like a murder machine.
The Goblin Slayer's kill count probably still puts hers to shame though.
But when the Champion is felled and the mirror slams back down and slams her clean off her feet from the force of impact.
Oh good, the Champion is dead. That butterflies in the stomach feeling of Law being broken is decreasing. And the goblins are fleeing. Amalthea sits herself up with a huff. Though she scruffs a passing goblin on the way out and gives it a good, lethal, stab that reduces it to pixels, that's about as far as she goes in chasing the blighters down.
"... That means she's still alive in there, right? At least for now... There were a lot of high level goblins on the other side." She asides to Shiruba.
Syx
Mac Anu - Sewers

Explosions are cool. And so is Syx. So he doesn't look at the exploision as it goes off. Instead he slow motion dives out of the way as it goes off behind him.

Once he gets back up, Syx picks off a few of the goblins as they run, and then throws a few things at the last of them, "Get back here you cowards! I'm not done beating you yet!"

He turns around to take a look at the rest of the group, "Anybody dead? Speak up."
Mikage
Mac Anu - Sewers

With the help of the Priestess, the Barrier likely holds longer than it would otherwise. Even so, the stone seems to vibrate in her hand, the power if it's relic effect pushed to the limit. "I can't hold it much longer." The Ranger warns.

With a quick motion, she pulls the energy back, grabs Rama, and runs. Just in time to be nearly flattened by the detonation that follows.

"Oof." Landing hard on the ground, she is forced to scramble back up, leaning on Rama slightly. She looks back, listening to the commentary on Estelle, but in her usual quiet way, Mikage just sighs, accepting that there is nothing more that they can do from here.

"I think I'm done with Goblins for a while..." She whispers.
Baroness Wake
Mac Anu - Sewers

Post explosion, the world is a much simpler place. Just for old time's sake, Wake grabs a fleeing goblin and snaps its neck. Her heart isn't in it, but it gives her something to focus her irritation on. The explosion, thankfully, didn't shatter her eardrums or leave her crushed. She takes a look back at the mirror, then to the others.

"We'll need to put a watch on this thing. And transport it to somewhere safer than this." Wake isn't about to make a proposal. She's not entirely sure what unlucky alliance has to claim jurisdiction on this one.

Shiruba
Mac Anu - Sewers

"Wake is right.." Shiruba agrees as she pushes herself off the wall. "and it can't just go back to it's previous place because the Invaders know how to get in there."
Erufu
Mac Anu - Sewers

WIth Mikage and Priestess on the barrier she has no concern for the moment about more goblins getting through. The bad news is Estelle has jumped in, she's still online but her chimlink's out. This could be a problem, there's nothing she can do about it right now. The Champion is bale to intercept her attack, at the expense of one of its minion's lives. Interestingly it's shrinking, that is not what she expected.l Still the Champion finally goes down he's finally put down which gives them a chance to act. The mirror goes down and she's on her butt for a moment.

THe elf is on her feet firing off shots at the fleeing goblins.

"We can't dally for long we need to finish those ones off or we'll start all over again..."
