Tavern Tourism

For some late evening might be the time to think about settling down for the night, but when it comes to taverns that's one of the busiest times of the day! People need to unwind from the long day of work and adventurers and that is what we are here to provide for. And with her recent training foray finished Vertina was back at the bar in person tonight, having just brought up a fresh stock of drinks from the brewery cellar.

Schneider has had a busy day of grinding newbie quests to build up his cash reserves and contributing to the Alliance projects he's assisting with. The work is tough, but he's more physical than he maybe looks. Years of basketball have increased his endurance. He comes in, takes a look around, and will make his way over to the bar. "Hey!" he calls with a grin to Vertina, "how's it going? What's on tap tonight?"

Erufu has been about the tower, after all, she's been hunting the oddly well-geared goblins on one of the floors. She's also been leading some from Moontree to do so as well. With the latest run finished? The party has gone their separate ways, she's come for the Tavern. She has ideas however she wants to get a drink and something to eat. Being able to scope out and check out another functional Tavern is a bonus. So the green-haired Elf would find her way into the Tavern. She'll arrive a bit after Schneider does.

"So got any food or just drink here?"

"Things are going well." Vertina takes a bottle from the crate she brought in and slides it down the bar to Shneider. "I've been experimenting with using berry juices to adjust flavor profiles, since we don't have all the spices and extracts the 'modern' world did. Having some knowledge in alchemy as well as brewing has some crossover perks."

She then turns to the door at the new arrival's proclimation. Hey isn't that one of the goblin hunters? "That's a silly thing to ask coming into a tavern!" she replies. Then adds "There is food, though more of the bar appetizer variety. I didn't want to step on the toes of some of the other more meal focused establishments other Adventurers have established."

Schneider will indeed call for a plate of snacks to go with his drink, which he sips in deep draughts. He looks over to Erufu, smiles, and says, "Hey there. How's it going?" He smiles in a casual way and introduces himself as, "Schneider. Dark Schneider." He hrms as Vertina mentions mixing the drinks differently, and says, "Whatever you've done, keep doing it." He's never been a drinker before the game, so he's a bit of a lightweight compared to experienced drinkers. Though he's got enough metablism and body mass where he's not a cheap date.

Erufu says "I'll take the speciral then and I'll let you pick the drink too!" She grins even more widely at Vertin and Schneider. "I'm Erufu!" She beam and will look to sit downa nd she then says "I'll cover Dark Schneider's first round too I'm in a good mood!" The pooks is quite a light weight herself but it's not very well known outside those who party with her often.

"Sure thing." The Salamander turns to shout something in 'foodservice lingo' to the small kitchen area. Then turns back to the bar. "Name's Vertina. I'm the keeper of this bar. What brings you to Tolbana? On your way up to help with the goblin problem? Or down from doing so? Nasty little blight those things are."

Schneider beams to Erufu, "It's good to meet you, Erufu. I don't meet too many people in the game, except on ... well, it'd be on business in the real world," he explains. "Missions and projects and things. It's like no one hangs out in bars anymore just to shoot the breeze." He sips his drink and agrees about the goblins. "What a menace! I'm not surprised that one Lander spends all his time fighting them. You could fight them all your life and never make a dent, I think." Which isn't quite true, in his case. Some of his spells will sterilize huge swaths of real estate.

Erufu says "On my way back from hunting them actually. Wanted to take a break and look over a place like this. I was thinking about opening a Tavern with an Inn in another city and wanted to learn." Her ears wiggle a bit as she does this and will move to sit down. "Orcbalg? He has his reasons, think about it for a normal farmer even the weakest of monsters is still a monster. Their nests can be cleared out and have been. If you don't push back they will spread."

Vertina ooohs as she comes back with a mug of brew and a plate of cluck-cluck drummies, setting them in front of Erufu. "I did similar when I was forming this idea. I wanted to make sure I didn't copy someone else. There's more than enough room for different establishments with their own... uh..." She pauses, leaning thoughtfully against the bar. "Theme isn't quite the word I'm looking for, but you get the idea. Olympus' place and the inn in Ninetails are more like actual resturants, so I stuck to the type of tavern you'd find in any other adventure roleplaying game."

Schneider ahhs as Erufu explains about hunting goblins. "I see." And he ahhhs as she explains about Goblin Slayer. "I expect something like that's pretty tough for a Lander, yeah. But he's pretty dedicated. And surprisingly strong." He sips his beer and munches his snack. He ohs about Vertina having done her research, and admits, "I was still stuck in the newbie zone back then, this was already built by the time I was out." He looks blank about the other places, and admits, "I've never been to any of those."

Erufu says "Oh I was thinking something inspired by a few tales I know of." She knows exactly who she'd be catering to with her idea, she's going to need to hire some staff. Though he could keep the place well stocked with meat. "He's silver ranked if that tells you anything, he fights like we do. He's terrifyingly clever when it comes to traps and ways to weaponize things."

This tavern is not one that Tenko had been to. In fact it had been a long time since she had been in Tolbana, and it was clear that a lot of changes had been made to the town.

She pushes the door open, and then takes a quick look around. Quite a cozy setup, to say the least.

"It's good to know the tastes of your primary potential clinetel." Vertina pauses to look up at the newest arrival. "This is getting to be a busy night! But don't let that stop you from coming in and relaxing." Idly she retrieves a bottle of juice for herself. No drinking while on the job... besides that gets messy. The barkeeper getting drunk is never pleasant. "I love seeing a diverse crowd though."

Schneider is mumbling into his chimlink, then hrms as Erufu explains. "Silver ranked? That's /way/ higher than me," he says. "I thought I was doing OK, but I'm obviously running behind. I'll have to do something to catch up, then." He laughs. "I think I'm exactly opposite of that," he says, in response to being clever at many different things. "I've got one solution to all my problems." Fire fixes everything. If fire's not your solution, you're not using enough.

He's currently sitting at the bar with Erufu, sipping a drink and eating bar snacks. He nods to Vertina about getting busy. "But that's not a bad thing."

    Merek will eventually come upon the place, it's not often that he comes to taverns, although he seems to be relaxing from the world. He takes a look about the place, noticing Tenko with a wave, then he nods to Erufu, and anyone else. The man adjusts the cavalier hat which he wears, placing that into the inventory while he takes a nice look above the scarf along the place. "Good evening."

Tenko gives a Vertina once she is acknowledged, and then looks for a place to sit. Spotting Merek's wave, she returns with a slight wave of her own, "Good to see you again, Merek." She says, as she moves towards him, finding a place to sit not far from him.

Erufu looks over to Tenkoi as she comes on in. "Hey come on join up I'm in a good mood, your first round's on me!" She seems very chipper here as she ends up looking to Vertina and grins widely.. "Aye he's been at this most of his life. He's very adept at it though I hope I can get himt to see some better things in life." The elf looks to DArk Schneider. "Is it fireball or something like it?" She's now drinking and eating at this point seeming to like it. "So do you get many bards here?"

She also looks to Merek for a moment. "I'll even cover the man who got the world coffee's first drink of the night too!"

    Merek looks then to Tenko and nods, while he takes a seat with the woman, "It's always nice to see you," he notes, while he takes a look then to Erufu, "I will take a drink. Rum, if you would." A nod along to the people, "Coffea, the world's greatest of achievements." The man waits about while he speaks to the kitsune, "You been up to anything?"

Vertina laughs. "Oh yeah, coffea. If you ever get a stronger supply line for that going, let me know. It'd probably sell well, and there's a few drinks you can mix with it." She goes to get Merek his request. "Anything I can get for you, Miss Masked Kitsune?"

Schneider chuckles to Erufu, and says disparagingly, "Oh, no, not /fireball/." He nods. "Helloween's much /more/ powerful." And a bit evil, too, technically. Or Dark, at least. Who uses fireball anymore? his attitude says. Well, everyone who hasn't developed a better boom, of course.

He wrinkles his nose at coffee. He never developed a taste for it, himself. Well, he's young. On the other hand, "Mmmmmm, I love Kahlua."

"I have been wandering, as I am prone to do." Tenko replies to Merek, considering her answer for a moment, "Helping where I can. I have not been involved in any of the..Larger conflicts that have been ongoing, however. That's a bit above what I can do."

    "Ah, we are. The Trading Company I own will be supplying it to all local cities, we also provide any contracts," Merek offers then to Vertina and to Erufu, while he nods a bit. The man looks to Tenko, "Well, I am glad you are assisting people. And you look nice like always!" The man takes a drink of that rum when it arrives.

"Hey, nothing wrong with that girl. There's plenty of people out there needing help that isn't the latest nearly destroy the the world calamity." Then finger-guns at Merek. "Yes, please! A reliable source of caffiene would allow for even more drink experimentation." Vertina picks up an empty mug and sets on wiping out out, as that is a thing bartenders do.

"A lot of the Landers cannot defend themselves. And while I am glad others are helping keep the more world threatening events at bay, someone has to deal with the little things." Since Vertina is behind the bar, Tenko considers, "Might I get a drink, please?" She asks, "Bartender's choice."

Erufu uas been enjoying her drink for a while she's looking a bit flushed from this, she's not too far gone thankfully and she looks to Tenko for a moment "We need people to do that, one Adventuer or even a hunter in the right place and do a lot of good!" She will get up from her perch and ask "Hey do you have a stageor anything close to it Vertina?! This polace could use some music!"

Vertina raises a scaly brow at Tenko. "You people are either brave, foolish, or both!" Then laughs. "I jest, I jest. I wouldn't bring anything -that- experimental out to the main bar." She picks a bottle up and slides it down to the kitsune. "I have been working on using berry juice as different flavorings, though. Since some berries can also be fermented."

Then points to the other side of the tavern, where sure enough, there is a bit of raised wooden platform. "Of course. Got to have a place for the wandering bards to come in and do their thing after all."

    Merek takes a drink from that rum, while he nods a bit to Vertina, "Aye, well that's something to keep in mind." A look then to Tenko and Erufu, "I think it's nice to do what we can to assist people, in every way." The man scratches along his cheek, "The Goblinbane been actually working any at all?" he asks. Then a look to Tenko, "I... Well, we learned a few new things. About the destruction of the world, you know, simple things."

Schneider is drinking slowly, chuckling as Erufu as he agrees, "One adventurer, yes." When she asks about a stage, he hrms, then grins as Vertina seems to have one. "A song, a song," he calls.

"And what did you learn?" She asks, reaching out and catching the sliding bottle from Vertina without looking at it. She pauses for a few moments, and then takes a look around. After a few moments, she reaches up and takes the mask off of her face. It's definitely something rare. However she feels safe enough here to do it.

Once the mask is set carefully on the bar, she takes a drink from the bottle

    Merek thinks about it a moment, "I used a Hacking Enigma Piece. We learned the world was destroyed or will meet its full destruction at the will of... Well, I'm not sure. Machina Unit 0001 Stalemartyr will be involved in it." The man takes a drink of that nice rum while he watches Tenko, and looks thoughtful when the mask is taken off. "You look nice."
    Well, there's not a lot he can say, he then adds, "We should go for drinks again sometime. You know, a bit together."

"And pray tell how that is a 'simple' thing," Vertina snarks. Followed by a huh. "I was wondering if that mask even came off...."

Schneider yawns, finishes his drink. He says, "You all have fun, I'm gonna crash." So saying, he rises, waves, and heads out.

"With respect." Tenko says, "I did not understand a word of what you just said." She takes another drink from her bottle, "Mmm. This is very good, Vertina." She says to the salamander bartender, though the comment about her mask makes her smile faintly, "Sometimes I wonder that myself."

Erufu claps her hands together and her ears wiggle some more, she's clealry very happy and she looks to Schneider. "Just let me finish this up and I'll sing something. Oh yes it's been working pretty well I coat my arrows when i go hunting but we need to be careful the Goblins don't figure out how to use it." She very shipper now as she goes to finish up her food and head for the stage. The question is? Can the Elf /sing/.

    "Apologies, I don't know, it's still a little bit difficult to understand," Merek notes, while he takes a look at the drink, "Anyway. I am thinking about looking for new things to do with alchemy. I might work on elixirs."

Vertina huhs. "Still prefer setting them on fire myself, but anything that helps the people that can throw around elements is certainly a good thing."

"I am sure that things will become clearer as we progress.." Tenko replies, as she considers for a moment, "Healing potions are always important, Merek. So I would definitely recommend more of those."

    "Well, it is more elixirs for different things. Pharmacists make healing potions," Merek notes, while he nods a bit to Tenko. The man seems to think about it, "I don't know, everything's been busy for a while, I need to find a way to relax."

"Ah, my appologies. I am specialized as a Scribe, so I was not aware of the requirements for health potions. Perhaps potions that offer increased abilities? I don't know the extent of what you can make."

    Merek nods a bit while he seems to think about it. "Well, I would like to make a lot of things," the man admits. "Anyway, what do you do as a scribe?" he asks, listening while he takes a drink.

Erufu now get up on the stage she takes a moment and then will start singing, wait was that an open to last seasons big fantasy anime? Yes, yes it is and she's belting it out shockingly well it seems the elf girl can /sing/ of all things!

"I primarily draw." Tenko replies, as she reaches into her pack and pulls out her sketchpad, setting it on the counter. There are several drawings of landscapes from the various gameworld locations if Merek takes a look through it.

    Merek takes a look into the sketchpad, while he takes a moment to look at each place. "Nice, I like art. I don't do a lot of that, no skill for it, which you need in a world like this place." The man nods to Tenko, "You do well."

Vertina lets out a whistle as Erufu starts singing. "Heeeey she's actually pretty good." Then turns her attention over to Merek and Tenko. "Well it's kinda obvious what my other talent is, after all. We're all sitting here for a reason."

Erufu is going to keep sining after her first song and then breaks into some stuff from Lord of The rings? Yup she's going there. This elf is quite a nerd it seems.
