Duty Session 242: Still Coast Pirates

After many raids by capable Adventurers, the Bandit camps along the shoreline around the Isle of Beginnings have all but been wiped out. However, the source of the Bandits still remains. A pirate ship has often been spotted along the waterways, taking advantage of the increased trade between the Kingdoms following the Apocalypse.

After a recent plunder of intoxicating beverages, the pirates are in high spirits. It is the perfect time for Adventurers to sneak onboard and investigate the source of the pirate threat. The Hunter's Guild is offering a reward for such intel.

Note: This is a lighthearted investigation and swashbuckling adventure.

Difficulty:    Moderate
Rec. Party:    5+
Rewards:       2
World Rewards: Improve efficiency of trade by waterways

Setsuna
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

The smell of eternal smoke is easily picked up on anyone who approaches this particular section of the coast. The remnants of the pirate camp that once sat here is not all but smuldering debris, which is quite impressive as this debris has been smuldering for many days now and will likely continue to smulder until the camp despawns. Along the coast is a few boats, one of them currently occupied with Setsuna and his pet skeleton knight. It appears he was just waiting for the moment, probably to see if anyone else would show up before setting sail.
Prophylaxis
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

Prophylaxis has not actually left the area in a little while. At least a couple of days, in fact. He really, really does not like these pirates, apparently.

Also, this whole expedition COULD in fact be his fault, due to the whole... You know. 'Pirates having things that the Scale Emblem would really like for themselves.'

Pirates will finally learn what it's like to be, themselves, pirated.
Schneider
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

Schneider mmmmms, "I love the smell of napalm in the morning. Smells like .... victory." He inhales deeply and smiles a self-satisfied smile. He heads over to the boat, though he says, "Soon. Soon we will rediscover flight. And then we can find these villains from the air and rain fire on them."
Mizuki
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

"Is this supposed to be the same pirate camp where we had the drinking contest...?" Mizuki wonders. "But it keeps appearing in slightly different places, and the same things can happen over and over... if it's not a game, that doesn't make any sense... but if it IS a game, people would have to be working constantly on new content just for us..."

She brightens up as Schneider mentions flight. "Once we can fly, we can go to the other continents!"
Vertina
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

Vertina is not super fond of water, but there's Pirates to be beaten up, and beating up jerks is always good. Plus, it's pirates. There is probably rum or something, and she can always use more that as well. "Dont think too hard about it, Mizukichi, and just focus on what needs to be done. That is, kicking pirate ass." She pauses. "What do they say for pirates? Keelhaul? Whatever."
Amalthea
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

Needless to say, after being up most of the night writing and re-writing, and writing some more... Amalthea needs to blow off some steam.
So here she is, ready to fight pirates, looking tired and surly as she climbs into the boat, dark bags beneath her eyes.
"Setsuna, good to see you as always." She greets, warm albeit haggard as she slumps into a seat and grabs an oar.
"Schneider, doctor." She continues her greetings once she's settled in. "Mizuki, Vertina, dears."
Her greetings are tired and rote and she looks about ready to jus exhale her soul.
Miho
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

Miho was okay with water, it was a certain fish, water thing, she'd sworn a blood fude with. However it's no where near there. The Salamander tail is swaying as she looks to Setsuna. "Hey Setuna, Doc, Schneider, Vertina, Mizuki and Amalthea hey!"

She's getting more chipper about this as one hand rests on the hilt of her Katana...
Setsuna
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

Setsuna looks up seeing the attendees and nods his head in greeting, " Good day to you all. A pleasant day to get away from the troubles of the land and solve some problems on sea." Looking at some of the faces he can only imagine it is needed.
As the quest begins officially , the boat magically unties itself and the party is off. The boat even appears to do the hard part of sailing itself, for at least the first few minutes. Quite impressive for the hunter's guild to give them enchanted boats. Like all good things though it doesn't last as the magical juice runs out and the boat comes to a stop in the middle of nowhere , sitting in rather calm waters. "I don't suppose someone brought a paddle, or even better a motor. That would help. Also the hunter's guild usually leaves a map on where to go. " Even with a map though the adventurers will have to find someway to get the boat moving again.
Schneider
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

Schneider nods to Mizuki. "Indeed," he replies. "I mean, we can already go, but an airship typically goes five times faster than a sailing ship." He smiles to Amalthea and wishes her, "Hello! How are you today?" To Miho, he grins, "How goes?" He swaggers on over to the boat, the ocean breeze blowing back his long hair dramatically with only a tickle of sorcerous power to motivate it.

It's that same sorcerous power that, once we are underway and becalmed, he commands to fill the sails with a stout breeze. "Hah!" he says, and lounges back, apparently enjoying the ride.
Mizuki
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

"We shouldn't need those, we have sails and air magic!" Mizuki starts throwing balls of air at the sail, but... it doesn't seem to be working right. "Hrmph... and we can't sail to the other continents right now, there are leviathans."
Amalthea
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

No sooner than Setsuna mentions the map, Amalthea plucks it right up. "I've got it right here." She says, unrolling it and giving it the once over...
Before she pulls out a spyglass.
Using this spyglass, in conjuction with the map, she starts to guide the group along through the waters.
"I... Have been better." She admits to Schneider. "But I'll live."
Prophylaxis
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

"Fufufu, sadly no. I don't have a paddle of any kind today. Nor do I have a sail to unfurl or anything of the sort," the doctor says with maybe a bit too much lackadaisical shruggery for his own good. "Ah well, it'll be fine, it'll be fine! A slow, calming sojourn across glassy waters is good for the soul, isn't it? Ahahahaha~"

(They might be out here for a while)
Vertina
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

Brewer senses are tingling! Vertina was only partially paying attention to last night's conversations because she was working in the tavern, but she heard enough to get Amalthea's lackluster mood. "Here." She pulls a small flash from within her vest, and passes it over to the elder paladin. "You look like you could use it... And no worries, it's not strong enough to interfer with fighting capability. Just take a little of that dullness off."

With that handled she rubs her hands together. "Let's get this duty on the roa-err-waves I guess." She frowns at the lack of wind, then shrugs. "Well, guess it's time to try out what else I can do with this. MIRAGE PHASE!" She inputs her hand-gesture commands, and then there's a trio of her standing at the back of the boat. And all three start throwing out blasts of air to get the boat on the move.
Miho
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

Miho Seems to be in good spirit she pauses for a moment at the siotuation with the boat she'll think and then finger snaps. "I have an idea." She'll starts trying to use an sword art which is air based to give the boat some forward movment. It doesn't go well and Miho looks rather silly with it as it does not end up going any where really. She's trying so hard but nothing happens and finally she gives up on it looking rather dejected.
Setsuna
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

Setsuna looks at the sail that isn't moving before listening to Amalthea's direction. "Right that way. " With a few magic hand motions summoning the wind to try and push the boat and alone he isn't even capable of it. Looking at his skeleton knight he frowns at it for a moment, "Well don't just sit there, get out and push. " The knight in an endeavor to help under orders does indeed hop out of the boat and try to paddle as well to push the boat.
With Amalthea taking the role of navigator and the rest of the group taking turns to generate air for the small little sail that was attached to the boat. They manage to make their ways to the pirate ship. It seems that they have came upon the pirates in a middle of a party. Yes the party has found the pirate party. It's time to sing, dance , blend in , or simply sneak by and hope the pirates are to drunk to notice.
Schneider
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

Schneider will climb up on deck, grab a mug, and join in the singing, his infectious smile and broad good cheer making up for the fact that he has no idea of the words, and is making them up mostly, or singing, "La la, doot de dooo," in as much harmony as he can manage, carousing and moving among the pirates, with a shoulder clap here, and a quaff there, and he makes his way towards the ladder down belowdecks as he moves cheerfully through the crowd. The pirates are drunk enough that his singing does not offend. Luckily.
Mizuki
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

"You can't 'get out and push', it's a boat!" Mizuki objects... but the skeleton somehow swims. "Oh."

As they approach the pirates, Mizuki's ears turn towards the ship and she begins to sway to the song. As much as she'd like to join in though, sneaking is safer. She equips her ninja outfit and quietly begins climbing up the side...
Amalthea
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

Amalthea... Takes the offered flask gladly.
"Thank you, dear." She says as she takes a hearty pull of the contents within before passing it back. Just enough to take the edge off by the time the boat reaches the pirate ship and the crew climbs aboard... To find the pirates distracted with merrymaking. She starts quuuuiiiietly trying tomake for the inside of the ship...
When one of the merrymaking pirates grabs her and yanks her into a dance.
"Y-young man I'll have you know I'm already quite taken!" She blurts as she's snared into the partying.
    Oh dear.
Prophylaxis
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

It's a pirate party!! And Prophylaxis has absolutely no idea what the heck that actually means. He's a doctor, not a pirate! "Uhhhhhhhh," what do pirates talk like? What do they sound like, even!? Clearly like a bunch of cacophanous morons dooting hard on a bunch of horns.

"Y-yarr harr fiddle-dee-dee? Walk the plank and swab the... poop deck?"

Beat.

"That sounds very unsanitary."
Vertina
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

By the time they've reached the ship the two 'options' have dispersed after spending their energy, leaving only the original Vertina to give the ship a little last oomph into place. Then grab onto the hull and climb her way up. She gets as far as the deck railing then ducks down to see what's going on. Looks like they're already having a party. Huh. Well then. She grabs onto the railing and hauls herself over it, then goes creeping off along the side while others get into distracting the men.

It's going good, up until she steps in a coil of rope from the rigging and nearly trips over it. Instead she hops on one foot while kicking the rope off the other, but in doing so hops backwards into a stack of crates. She tumbles over, several crates tumble down and break, and a few cluck-clucks go scattering and squacking at random. Some pirate yells about their future dinner escaping. Vertina starts slinking off again... only to step in ANOTHER coil of rope, this time tumbling hard. She eventually rolls up to the others in a tangled mess. Glares at the party between the ropes. "Not. A. Word."
Miho
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

Miho has been making a fool of herself today but she's just come to accept it. Some times this strange world does the most annoying gamey things. "So what could be worse... and yeah." She'll end up helping out with pushing things. Finally the party gets to the boat and she'll get on she'll try to start ssinging but something goes bad, she bursth a gout of fire midd song. Worse she breaht baclwars and lets out a yelp as she now trickles smoke out of her mouth and looks utterly mortifed...
Setsuna
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

Setsuna tries to blend he does, he tries very hard. Even has a peg leg, sort of, however he forgot rule #6 of being Setsuna, 'Don't Sing'. It is failure to abide by this rule that has leads the pirates to give him questioning looks as he just quietly tries to blend back into the crowd.
Setsuna isn't the only one either getting weird looks, whether it is Prophylaxis and his attention to hygiene or Amalthea suddenly showing her age while trying to be sneaky. The smoothness of Vertina or Miho's singing doesn't go well either. In fact the only two to not get weird looks and silent judgement is Schneider, who is singing the right tune and Mizuki who simply disappeared.
Fortunately the pirates are having to much of a good time to do anything more then not allow the adventurers to join in on their pirate games. The adventures are able to proceed with the heavy judgement of the pirates weighing on them. So as they progress into the ship they come across the bane of all dungeon divers, a locked door. It's a big lock to, not a simple punch it once and it opens lock. It will require some people working together to solve it, or just someone making a different path all together.
Prophylaxis
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

It's a small miracle that Prophy isn't keel-hauled right then and there, but maybe the pirates are just having too much of a good time to really... do anything to him. Too much booze, not enough brain, and all that.

But then! They find... a locked door. Prophylaxis looks at the lock, he looks at the party, his brow screws together and he heaves a shrug before giving the thing a half-hearted whack with his staff. "Oh no," the doctor deadpans. "A locked door. What ever shall we do? Hopefully some pirates do not appear and whisk us away to the brig or anything like that. Oh noooo."
Amalthea
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

It takes her a few minutes but Amalthea manages to escape her dance partner.
She doesn't look all that pleased as she returns to the group and she spies the lock.
"There's a trick to this lock." She says. "There's a button somewhere on the doorframe. Then when that's pressed I can get a pick in it and someone has to push at the right moment." A pause.
"But if this ship is anything like the ship I was on LAST time... Then this leads to the galley."
Amalthea frowns, then scowls with the memory of her cooking failures.
"Do we really want to go to the galley?" She says plucking a pin from her hair and readying to pick the lock, but then just...
Slides the pick back into place.
"I say we skip that fiasco."
Vertina
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

It takes a few moments for Vertina to untangle herself, and in the end she just grabs and burns a few of the rope strands apart to do so. By the time she's rejoined the others they've already found the large locked door and it's elaborate mechanisms. She slumps a moment, groaning and rolling her eyes. "Really? A puzzle, now? In middle of a pirate ship..."

The Salamander is not in the mood for intricate puzzle solving. She just stomps up to start punching and kicking the door repeatedly. Manages to just dent a few places before Amalthea speaks up that they don't actually want to go through. ".. Oh? Okay. I feel a bit better for venting though."
Mizuki
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

Mizuki seemingly reappears at the door. "So, this is the part where we're supposed to mess up, right?" She halfheartedly pulls at the door, ignoring her lockpicking skill. "So we go to the brig and then have to bust out, huh? But won't they take our stuff?" She taps her chin. "Wait, what if we just unequip everything first?" She-de-rezzes her weapons, at least.
Schneider
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

Schneider slips down belowdecks, where he finishes off the beer and leaves his mug ... he looks around, and then just sets it on the deck, off to the side. He looks over at the door, gives it a shove. Gives it a good shove. "C'mon, we've almost got it," he says incorrectly. Because all the other bits that need to be done aren't being done. But it feels like it's about to go.... he's never done this before, so all he can do is follow along.
Miho
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

Miho gets past the pirates without a fight she'll call that a win in her mind. She also ends up getting the best worst idea as thbey come up on the next issue before them. She takes a long hard look at the door and gets an idea she'll move her tail. Trying to use one fo the spikes on it to pick the lock, this does not go well at all for her...
Setsuna
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

Setsuna doesn't hesitate when he comes upon the lock and he starts to fiddle and mess with it. Somehow he even has a lockpick that he seems to be trying to get it up before the lockpick snaps. "Well that's it , this lock is impossible to pick. Lets give up and go home. " Though Setsuna does give Prophylaxis a weird look at his prediction steeped in sarcasm. Whatever could the doctor be thinking.
Shoving on the door does nothing, staring at it does nothing, deciding to skip it obviously does nothing. Not even trying to pick it with ones own tail. It appears no matter what they choose it does nothing, maybe there is nothing behind this door. Maybe it is a fake door just to give the guards time to find stowaways. As apparently that is what has happened as suddenly the 7 adventurers are surrounded by a equal amount of guards and ushered off to the brig.
Setsuna is just sitting in the brig staring at the doctor for a moment before finally asking, " So mister I can see the future. What is it I'm about to say?" They were stuck in the cell, bound and all hope seemed lost. Suddenly a were fang rat appears out of nowhere, "Don't worry adventurers, I will get you free and then you shall free me. " Deal or no deal he is already untying people. Once free the adventurers could choose to blast their way out, punch their way out , or maybe simply deconstruct the cell. The choice was theirs.
Amalthea
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

So the brig huh. Seems like a nice place. Except for being bound and tied down and and and.
"Huh." Amalthea muses as the group is locked up.
It's still better than the galley.
Especially when their erstwhile little savior starts undoing people's bonds. Once she's up...
She gives the barred door a good, solid, hinge-jarring kick to start loosening it.
Schneider
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

Schneider can at least provide light while we're down here in prison. He looks around in the gloom, but is pretty pleased that they seem to have an ally here. "Escape sounds good," he agrees. "Though they do seem to like partying." I mean, it seems like a good lifestyle, as much of it as he's seen. "On the other hand, ships are a bad place for me. Nothing to burn but where you're sitting."
Vertina
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

Vertina doesn't have weapons, she IS a weapon... also she didn't wear the battle gloves this time. She's still hauled off with everyone else though and thrown in the brig. "Well that was rude, even for pirates." That said, once it's not duty plot relevant that she be tied up she has little trouble breaking her hands free of their binding. She rubs a scaly wrist with the other hand and snorts though, just because. "Let's get this mission back on track." She grabs the brig bars and heaves a few times... and gets nowhere. "Oh come on!" She's not having much luck bending out the bars... and then Amalthea goes kick the door. Wait.. Vertina looks down, looks up, realizes she was pulling on the actual bars that are fastened into the floor and ceiling rather than the door. "... I'm starting to really hate this ship."
Prophylaxis
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

The party is DRAGGED OFF INTO THE BRIG. Prophylaxis seems approximately as cool as a cucumber. He is, as the kids would say, totally down with the business. "Oh, well," he answers Setsuna with a shrug, "You're probably thinking that I'm crazy for getting us all tossed into the brig. But what you don't know is that this is exactly where we want to be. Don't worry, we'll probably have a ratty were fang cut our bonds here in a second!"

And they do.

Because history has a way of repeating itself.

"Thank you, good sir," Prophylaxis chirps and hops back up to his feet before... fishing a vial of /something truly foul/ out of a hidden pocket in his labcoat. Whistling as he works, the doctor pours the concoction onto the bars, where it sizzles and fizzes, offgassing heinously repugnant vapors as it weakens the metal to the point that a solid shoulder-check is enough to crack through the bars. "There we are! Come along, we need to find out gear."
Mizuki
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

(If the pirates ask about her lack of equipped weapons, Mizuki responds with (Lie) 'I'm the monk, I'm the one who'll bust us out of prison without weapons, like Zell or Ayla.')

Anyway, they end up with their hands ties behind their backs?! "Ugh, this is /actually uncomfortable/! In a traditional MMO, they'd just give us some dialog boxes and then fade to our characters in the brig..." she complains on the walk to the brig, and then when they're left sitting there...

"Ugh, it's still uncomfortable, how long do we have to sit like this before something happens? ...Wait! I can't reach the menu like this! We can't use the chimlinks OR get our items! This is seriously fucked up!"

After near-paniccing and struggling with her bonds for a moment, she has an idea. "Wait... maybe I can use the menu with my feet?" She leans back and raises a foot, imitating the menu-opening gesture a couple of times with a little grunt each time, looking increasingly worried as it fails.

And then their savior is a rat. She doesn't actually have a problem with rats, but... "Okay, I know how I look, but I promise I won't eat you or anything! Just untie us!"

Once that's taken care of, she stands, rubbing her wrists. "Alright. I may not actually be an unarmed combat specialist but I am... a freaking... tiger!" Once Prophy has weakened the bars she grips them tightly, braces herself with claws digging into the floor, and HEAVES against the bars with a roar!
Miho
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

Miho gives up after taking a bit of HP damage from trying to get the lock open. She'll pull her tail back from the lock. She then finds a whole bunch of guard and the next thing she knows it? She's in a cell. Oddly they haven't taken her gear. Okay so that was odd but now she has to wonder about what's going on. She'll then comment "Why do I think certain comics start this way." She says no more on it as she looks at the werefang she'll soi fin herself being untied and now they need to get out. She's just going to brute force her way out of the cell using her various skills to do so. Also whoever thought you could use a repelling shield like a sled hammer. Apparently Miho did...
Setsuna
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

Setsuna does his best to push on the bars but well his build was never helpful when it came to trying to do anything physical. More and more he regretted making strength his dump stat. The rest of the adventurers manage to bring their own contributions together and with one final shoulder charge from the werefang, the door falls off and they are free.
The werefang leads them to where there stuff is stowed. " Hurry take what you need , but hurry. " The werefang is rushing them and it will be up to those with quick eyes and hands to help ready the others before guards arrives.
Vertina
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

"In other words, we don't have time to be picky." At least Vertina doesn't have to worry about searching for her own weapons.

So she just starts knocking over and busting open things to help others find stuff, and not really accomplishing much in general. Maybe she's just venting again by breaking things.
Schneider
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

Schneider had little in the way of gear. A starter sword, sure, and some miscellaneous stuff. It's quickly recovered. He'll look through the other chests and crates afterward, just sort of browsing for anything interesting. If he finds the other player's gear, he'll call out, and he'll pocket anything that looks useful, though there's not much of that. Anything vendorable? Not for much. Junk: value 1 copper. "Pirates must spend all their money on booze," he complains.
Prophylaxis
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

"Yes, good. Now let's see here," Prophylaxis murmurs and sweeps a palm across his face. An arcane sigil appears atop his forehead as he meanders into the assorted treasure chests and... Begins opening everything!? "Hmhmhm. I wonder what kind of loot they managed to pick up this time. Let's see if there's anything valuable..."

(He might be a while.)
Amalthea
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

Once free of the brig, Amalthea rubs her wrists.
"Mizuki dear you're overthinking what was clearly a scripted event." She says as she begins rummaging through ALL THE STUFF.
It takes her just a moment before she holds up her sword. "Found my stuff."
Pause. "Found some other people's stuff, too."
Mizuki
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

"See, this is why I de-equipped." Mizuki quips. She looks for others' stuff, though, to no avail. "Why do they even HAVE this rubbish...?"
Setsuna
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

Setsuna's eyes glow as he digs around in between all his stuff. Fortunately for Setsuna, Amalthea managed to find it for him. "Thank you Amalthea. I should have just kept it all in my inventory. " With that he gets ready for what is to come next, regretting leaving his pet on the little Sail boat. As he looks around at the others, while they are managing to find there stuff it is taking to long and the rat Werefang is jumping up and down in a hurry.
Finally they are ready and good to go and the werefang ushers them forward, " This way quick. We must escape, you promised." Just as they are about to get to the boat the werefang stops them and points them to a group of pirates. "Wait we need a distraction and then need to make a break for it the moment they turn their heard. "
Prophylaxis
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

The good doctor is already WAY AHEAD of mister rat over there. He's clambering up the ladder, a sphere of flame floating ominously atop his palm and glowing with the color of molten magma. "Don't worry," he says with a cheery chirp, "We've got ample distractions."

This is the Scale Emblem, after all.

They're just going to blow the entire damn place up.
Mizuki
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

"A distraction shouldn't be a problem..." She spits an easy-to-miss-if-distracted bead of fire past the pirates, which EXPLODES into a giant fireball in the distance! And then runs!

"...Where are we running TO, exactly? We're on a boat..."
Vertina
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

A sly grin comes to Vertina's expression, her tail twitching with a sudden surge of anticipation. "Big boom, you say? Oh, we can definitely do that~"

She eagerly hops up, scuffing her feet back and forth the same way a soccer player does with a ball. Which is exactly what starts to form between her feet, a ball of dirt and rock. Until she catchs it with her toes and gives it a flick into the air in front of her. Then spins around on her other foot to swing one of her mighty kicks into play and HAMMER the stone ball.

"METEOR STRIKER!"

Not only does the projectile go hurtling at the deck below, but it's propelled so hard and fast by her tremendous kick that despite being made of rock it BURSTS INTO FLAME, resulting in a fiery impact suitable of it's namesake as it impacts with the deck below.
Amalthea
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

Amalthea finds stuff. It's what Investigators and nosy old women do, and she happens to be both.
"Of course, dear." She replies to Setsuna, before the decision is made to make a distraction. Scraping the tip of her sword on the floor, the old Odyssiea Knight kicks up a spark that sets her sword on blazing fire.
She then starts setting other stuffon fire happily.
"Off the boat." She says matter of factly to Mizuki.
Schneider
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

Schneider heads up the narrow stairs with the rest of the party and looks around. "Well, the party didn't stop for us getting locked up," he says with some amusement. But now to escape. "Wait, hang on, we didn't actually do anything here," he points out. "Was this like a scouting mission, just looking around. Or were we supposed to do something?" Though ... a distraction? Sure ... A few surreptitious hand gestures, and he calls out, "PINKFLOYD!" The spell that comes out like a wild inferno, sweeping around the deck and rigging, and everything is suddenly on fire, burning in odd colors. Chemists will tell you that the colors of a flame are due to the temperature it's burning at, which normally is based on the material that's burning. Where magic is involved, though, you can get basically any color you like. And Schneider has chosen 'all of them' for this spell.
Miho
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

It seems Miho was not right they had taken all their stuff and she has no luck trying to find her gear, she's not happy about this, it takes a while for her. It does take a while but she finally finds some of her gear. Well, it seems Miho is indebted to Schneider for finding her gear well most of it as the party heads onwards to the next thing they have to deal with. She will trigger her spell as they are confronted.

"FORGE'S FURY!"
Setsuna
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

Fire, fire everywhere. Everyone decides they will cause a distraction and fire is just about everywhere, you see that small piece of uncharred wood. It's on fire now . Even Setsuna who is not prone to spreading fire, throws flames everywhere for all to burn. Everything is on fire and the Werefang doesn't understand, he said a distraction is all he was looking for. So much fire, what were they going to do if their path was blocked.
Finally the pirates scatter to go try and put out fire and the adventurers are free to get to the life boats, or even there own boat. The Werefang takes off running deciding not to stay around waiting to burn. Just as he is about to make it to the boat an Ax is thrown and stops the werefang dead in his tracks. Stepping from a burning corridor , is the pirate warden. "Prisoners...do not escape...the warden." Adventurers however might have a chance, if they do what adventurers do best.
Amalthea
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

With things on fire, Amalthea blows out the light on her blazing sword with a quick puff.
"Mischief Managed." She says cheekily before-- the party is halted by one hell of a pirate monster.
Stepping to the fore of the group, the old Paladin raises her shield.

    "Ancho Howl!"

With that mighty delcaration she spams her taunts and starts soaking up all the aggro so that everyone can maximize their DPS without worry of retaliation before running to the lifeboats.
Schneider
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

Schneider is having fun setting fire to everything. Everything, and he seems surprised that anyone's got the gumption to stop a Scale raiding party just as they're getting heated up. "Well," he says, and a dark aura surrounds him as he gathers power. "This is gonnaa hurt you a lot more than it hurts me."

He chants, "Kaizard, aruzard, kisk! Hansay Glossik! Unleash total destruction! Sage of Hades use the seven keys to open the gates of Hell!" He takes a deep breath, and bellows, "HALLOWEEN!" And then it's hell on earth, or as close as makes no difference. The evil-tainted flames engulf the rhino-looking enemy, and his HP drops like it's trying to get away.

Schneider looks pleased with himself.
Mizuki

"We're supposed to get a specific item by doing the quest this way!" Mizuki reminds Schneider. And then he fires a RAINBOW. "Pink Floyd...?"

They run for the lifeboat, and then THE WARDEN attacks! "Ah, this guy must be the one that drops the item we're after!" She blasts him with MORE FIRE, which surely won't make things worse at this point, then tries to circle around and stab him in the back. "Give us your drops! Seriously, why do you even care so much if we escape, what do you want us so badly for..."
Vertina
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

Vertina leaps down to the main deck after the massive pyrotechnics let loose on the ship. "Finally lets get off this--" Cue the boss stomping up onto the deck. "Hey, guess what, we're not prisoners anymore. So we don't have to listen to you, you big oaf!" Though her attention is less on the boss, and more on his weapon. Because oh goodness she knows exactly what to do.

As expected Amalthea steps up to tank the aggro, and Vertina stands right next to her. "Yeah, get his attention... I'm gonna shaolin soccer all over this guy."

When she sess the oppritunity Vertina leaps to the front of the fight, just as the boss is hurtling one of his attacks across the deck... and with a mighty spinning move she KICKS the ball end right back at him!
Miho
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

Then comes the warden the wardn is going to be an issuye or so she thinks, she has some ideas to get past hte Warden. With all the fire having been spaent she has other ideas namely the she's just going to engage the Warden with normal physical attacks. She also will end up hitting him with her tail spikes during the fight. Finally when it's over she will just make this odd face.

"I was not expecting anything like that..."
Setsuna
Overworld - 13 - -2 - 0

With the Warden's attention pulled towards Amalthea it opens up everyone else to be able to focus on attacking. A fireball from the doctor and the hell flames of Schneider light the warden on fire. As he tries to throw the heavy ball attached to a chain and Vertina just kicks it back in his face as he lets out another yell due to being stabbed in the back by Mizuki. Flaily wildly as he drops the ball and chain and retrieves his ax as he charges Amalthea. Setsuna tries to intercept him by calling his pet , however all that is heard is a thud against a near by wall, apparently the knight would not be busting through to save the day. Miho manages to catch the warden's face with her tail spikes and shatters in to pixels. With the warden defeated and the ship almost ash the party is able to hop onto the boat with out much trouble. Each in possession of a piece of warden's chain.
