Kaydon
Alne - Scale Emblem Alliance HQ

It wasn't unexpected for things to eventually reach this point. Kaydon had knew something would have to break sooner or later. With the different alliances and their different goals, there was no way it would last forever.

He never expected it to go the way it went, though. It wasn't outright conflict, at least not yet. Frankly Kaydon was pretty sure that Scale would win if it came to that. But this was an attack on his companions directly, and that couldn't go unpunished.

The gnoll were fang was already transformed, and was currently standing in front of the Scale Emblem HQ. He was hard to miss after all, even when he wasn't looking the way he does. He has, rather politely, asked one of the guards to fetch someone who was in charge. But the way he said it had an air of seriousness about it that perhaps he's not always known for, save for the most dire of circumstances.
Amalthea

It's been a hell of a past few days for Amalthea. The complete and utter fiasco caused by Xander's actions has quickly taken a devastating toll on the old Odysseia Knight, and when she emerges not too long after being summoned, she looks haggard; dark sleepless bags under her eyes as she emerges in her armor. Though the way her shield is strapped to her back and her sword is sheathed says she isn't expecting this meeting to come to hostilities, it is simply a matter of formality.
"Kaydon." She greets, recalling the were-fang easily from several joint ventures and Tower raids, putting on a slight albeit weary smile.
"Would you care to come inside out of the elements? We can have this talk in my office if you'd prefer."

The gnoll takes a moment to glance up at the sky. There's a chance it could get worse, so he figures that may be for the best. Plus he doubts this will result in anything besides the two of them coming to a disagreement, "It's good to see you again, Amalthea. I wish it were under better circumstances. Yes, I would love to come inside."

He's never actually seen the SEA headquarters inside, after all, He got grabbed up by Silver Sword pretty early into this whole apocalypse thing. He hasn't even thought about how long it's been since this whole thing started. He wasn't even sure of the date, though he takes a moment to check it on his HUD.

Head dipping into a nod, the old Paladin agrees with the Juggernaut's sentiment. "Mm, yes, it is good to see you too. I, also, wish it were under much better circumstances. But let's get inside before the weather turns." She agrees before motioning for him to follow her. But with things as they are, she already has an idea of why Kaydon is here.
Nevertheless, she leads him into Castle Reach and through several winding corridors before opening the door to her office. It's a simple, almost spartan, setup. She has a cozy chair, a workable desk with paperwork neatly arranged atop it, and another seat for visitors directly across from her own.
"Have a seat, can I get you anything while you're here?" She does offer.

Kaydon pulls the seat back and sits down, "Don't suppose you guys have gotten any of that coffee yet." He replies, "Otherwise some water is fine." He's done so many of these kinds of things back in the day, before the game. He knows how it goes. Get all the plesantries out of the way ahead of time.

He doesn't intend to yell at Amalthea, she's not responsible. However he does intend to make his position known in no uncertain terms.

Once Kaydon is settled in, Amalthea heads towards a cabinet towards the back of the room and opens it. Inside are several crystal bottles of various drinks, and she indicates the contents in case Kaydon decides he wants anything else instead, as she reaches for a decanter of water and a clean glass. If she's not stopped for anything else, she sets the glass in front of the were-fang and settles into her own seat, folding her hands together on the desk. Now that the pleasantries are indeed out of the way, the old Paladin purses her lips briefly.
"While I can already assume why it is you've come to talk, please enlighten me."
Kaydon

"I'll get straight to the point, as there's no reason to beat around the bush. I don't feel that Scale Emblem punishing Xander is good enough. I want you to hand him over to me." He takes a moment to take a drink, before he continues, "I will tell you that I am not here in any official capacity from Silver Sword or New World. I am here of my own accord."

And so he gets to the point. And it is just about what Amalthea had surmised it to be. Punishing Xander isn't good enough. Dipping her head in a faint nod, the old accountant taps her thumbs together thoughtfully as se regards the were-fang for a long beat.
"Let's say I were to do that." She begins. "I'd like you to tell me honestly: What would you do with him, on your own and off the books?"
Kaydon

"I have no intention of killing him, if that's what you're thinking." Kaydon replies, "Unlike Xander, I am not a PKer. Most likely, we would hold him. Find a way to make him atone for it. Honestly I'd ask Giganpor but I know he'd say he doesn't want Xander punished at all."

He honestly didn't expect that she'd even entertain the idea, so he hadn't come up with a detailed plan on what they'd do. He takes another drink of water, "What do you plan on doing with him?" He finally asks, "Maybe we can reach some kind of agreement on what the punishment for murder should be, when the death penalty is off the table."

Thumbs tap together for a moment longer as Amalthea hears Kaydon out.
"I will be blunt in saying I do not think Giganpor would be the one to ask in this situation." Whether he'd say he didn't want Xander punished or not was not something the old Odyssiea Knight would like to risk. But if the death penalty is off the table.
"I'm not entirely certain what we had intended to do with him, ourselves, just yet. There had been discussion of hard labor, but I haven't been privy the final verdict on just what we would be doing with him in this case, if a final decision has even been reached at all." She says, sitting back somewhat.
"My hands are also tied in that I am certain I cannot simply just 'give up' a member of the Scale Emblem Alliance to another alliance for possible retributive justice or to be held. But as it stands, I am also hoping to stem the bloodshed before it becomes a vicious and very open cycle of aggression... But if you do not intend to kill him..." She considers a little more open minded, spreading her palms. "I will further note that I simply cannot give him to you as he has not deigned to tell me where he even is since the attack. But if you were to happen to find him before I did, I don't quite think I'd be able to stop you, either."
Kaydon

"At least that's something we agree on." Kaydon replies, as he takes one last drink and sets the glass down. He listens to what she has to say. He didn't really expect her to hand Xander over to him, or really to even entertain the idea. However the last sentence that she gives him makes his ears perk, ever so slightly.

He nods his head a couple of times, "I understand." He replies, taking a moment to rub the bridge of his muzzle, "Frankly I wish we weren't even needing to have this discussion. But if I am being honest, I am shocked we made it this long without it happening." He does get up to his feet, and then bows to Amalthea.

"Thank you for allowing me the chance to plead my case, at the very least. And if you would be so kind as to ensure that Scale Emblem knows that it isn't New World that is seeking retribution, nor am I seeking it on their behalf."

Amalthea nods as well. "I regret that we had to have this conversation in the first place, too." She agrees. "And I hope we can go just a little longer without something else exploding in our faces. I will be honest, this was a landmine that we of the SEA were doing our best to defuse quietly before Xander went and stomped on it."
But, Kaydon rises. So too does Amalthea, returning the bow.
"Of course. I will let them know. And I'll see you out, if you'd like. Castle Reach can be something of a maze for visitors unused to its corridors."
Kaydon

"That would be wonderful, thank you. Perhaps sometime soon we can get together and chat under less trying circumstances. Maybe have some coffee or tea and just...Relax." Relaxation is not something either of them have had the luxury of in a long time.

"I swear we need a beach arc." He says, mostly to himself.

"I would like that." Amalthea says, "Very much. ... I can't remember the last time I had coffee." She admits, before chuckling. "There was the beach festival not too long ago. Complete with giant enemy sea life." She does point out, starting to lead the way back to the exit.
"Now, a hot springs arc. That's something I'd give my right arm for."
