A meeting in Alne

Ayanna
Alne

Ayanna walks past towards a non descript door, knocking on it softly. As the door opens, she announces she has a delivery to make and hands a small package over to the person behind. With that done, she strolls away.

Yeowang is here in Alne taking care of some of the newbie quests also. It's basically free cash, such as it is. Not enough to be significant, but it keeps her in food. Not great food, but better than starving! Spotting Ayanna, she calls out, "Hello!" and does a quick Inspect. A guildie? Someone she's never met before, though. She bows her head. "Good morning to you."

Ayanna flashes a smile and raises her hand to wave back, or was it waving a menu off? Regardless, it seems like a friendly gesture because of her smile. "Hi!", she replies, "good morning!"

Yeowang considers, introduces herself. It might have been an inspect that Ayanna did on her, but that's no reason not to be polite. "I'm Yeowang," she says. "It's nice to meet you. How do you do? I'm just getting started with the main game content, myself. I still do the low-level quests to make money for food and such as well," she explains. "But you're looking to move up to the more advanced content?"

Ayanna can't help a hint of a frown and bites her lip before nodding. "I, uhm, yes", she smiles and giggles softly. "Sorry, I usually try to like, stay in character, especially since the locals never call their home a game or refer to themselves as code, you know?" A brief moment later she shrugs, "but yes, I do hope to, sort of raise in ranks and get better established here, more than ever since it seems we've become an integral and somewhat permanent part of this world"

Yeowang's eyes widen, and she nods. "Ah, a roleplayer," she says, her words not betraying anything other than understanding. She's not one, it is apparent. "I don't have a character," she explains. "or, rather, I am already who I wish to be. The locals, yes," she understands. "But they're code, they don't know any world outside the game. But yes, it does seem we've become permanent," she agrees. "So, you're looking to move up, that's good. It's not too much harder than the beginner content. I can help you, if you like? I'm more or less at your level, myself, I've only been doing the higher end content for a few weeks."

Ayanna is still smiling as she nods, asking "it's not anything life threatening is it? I've heard death here is not permanent but I don't think I'd like to experience it". A blink and then, "oh, I'm sorry, I didn't tell you my name yet, did I? I'm Ayanna", she says and offers a slightly deeper than usual bow in apology.

Yeowang smiles as Ayanna introduces herself, and agrees, "The duties aren't life threatening, that I'm aware. I've done a few, and it's never been an issue. Though there's been a few that I didn't think we could complete. But we did, so ... I'm not sure how that goes." She arches a brow. Sort of a minimalist shrug. "You -can- die in some of the other content. I've never done that, myself, but I've heard it's possible." At the introduction, her lip curls up in a smile, and she replies, "It's nice to meet you, Ayanna. I can take you through some of the pretty easy content, if you like? If we can find a party, of course. Three is generally the fewest you want to go with."

Ayanna nods at Yeowang, saying "do you have many friends? I didn't get to meet many people who were interested in, well anything much beyond becoming stronger and finding a way out of here."

Yeowang shakes her head about friends, and admits, "I wouldn't mind getting out of here, either. Though ... I expect I already have, in a way. I believe -we're- just /copies/ of the people that logged into the game. My father wouldn't have stood for me being stuck in some game, you see." She clearly seems to think he could have done something about it, too. But that's entirely speculative, there's no way to be sure. "Either way, though, you and I and the rest do seem to be stuck here, so we ought to improve ourselves as much as we can, in the game progression sense, in order to improve our situation as much as we can."

Ayanna nods slowly, "I tend to agree with that, the self improving thing, though I don't really care for the tower everybody seems to have be fixated with. If we're just digitized copies of our real self, I..", she sighs, "I feel bad for real me. To be honest, I'm happier here than I've ever been there, if only I could settle down here, I think I could lead a rather happy and fulfilling life".

Yeowang shrugs about the Tower, and says, "I haven't had much to do with the tower, other than some damage control. There's a bit of politics going on," she says. Politics she's not happy about, from her tone. "But there's ample content to do outside the tower, and it's much lower risk, as well." As to being happier in the game, she says, "Well, if you're happy here, then you're good to go, right? Because here you are. You -can- settle down, of course," she adds. "I'm not going to, though. It's not my way."

Ayanna quirks an eyebrow at Yeowang, asking "not even if you make friends, fall in love, discover you're but a digital clone of your former self?" She lets the question hang there before asking "anyway, where to oh great leader?" with a giggle and a formal army like salute.

Yeowang's cheeks color about falling in love, and she says, "That's how I got stuck here in the first place. And without him, which makes it worse. He was going to meet me, but he had some things to take care of before he could get into the game, so here I am." As to where to, she looks around, picks a direction, and heads out.

Ayanna nods and bites her lip, then shrugs, "I've never had a boyfriend so I still envy you", she admits and rushes forward to follow Yeowang, asking "what did you have in mind for our grand adventure?"

Yeowang shrugs about a boyfriend, dismissing the thought with a twitch of her lips. "In any event," she goes on, "the town usually has things available." She looks around again, and leads the way into an otherwise unremarkable shop.

Ayanna gives a sideway glance to Yeowang, asking "another one of those oh no, I have a cellar infested with fill up name of vermin, would you be so kind of brave adventurer to rid me of these pests?"
