Unnatural Consequences

With the defeat of the Dark Pooka Queen, the Landers of the 9th Floor have been released of their bondage. Prophylaxis goes to inform them of the good news, but receives word that the undead that were previously enforcing the queen's rule have gone berserk and have begun attacking the villagers. It turns out that the townsfolk aren't the only ones that have been freed from the yoke of servitude! Now the Scale Emblem Alliance's raid party, still fatigued from their fight against the queen, are called upon for one more heroic mission before finally enjoying their well-deserved rest.

QUEST ACQUIRED: Evacuate the Human Village of the 9th Floor of Aincrad to the Eighth and save the residents from a mindless horde of the walking dead!

Prophylaxis
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

You never know what kind of unintended consequences might result from forcibly and permanently shattering a local undead overlord's rule over her kingdom. The Black Wave poised to smash right into Westelande's largest port aside, there's still plenty of unfinished business to take care of in the aftermath of the Pooka Queen's defeat.

Ostensibly, Prophylaxis had only intended to drop by the unnamed human village to check in on things and get a head start on giving the locals the aid they so desperately needed. What he found there, though, has resulted in an emergency summons sent to any and all personnel in the area: The town is under attack. Prophylaxis has secured a defensive position and has collected a large number of survivors, but additional forces are required immediately to safely evacuate the townsfolk.

The reason they can't stay becomes abundantly clear as the scattered Adventurers filter back into the area. Many of the farm's fields are ablaze, fences and carts and other agricultural equipment lie in broken piles of wood. At least one barn is on fire, all beasts of burden still trapped inside. Throughout the inferno, shambling corpses and armored, skeletal soldiers skulk about, eyes aglow with malice. They march toward one of the few standing barns, where a ramshackle barricade of broken barrels and other sundry materials has been erected to keep the walking dead out. Standing at the battlements are a handful of Scale Emblem adventurers and Prophylaxis himself, sitting astride a heavily-armored, vaguely pig-horse-looking creature.

Unfortunately, to reach him (and whatever he's got hiding inside the barn), his rescuers will need to fight through a small army of the shambling dead...!
Schneider
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

All this fire, and none of it burning the undead? That's the true tragedy, in Schneider's eyes. But he heard the call, and indeed, he came quickly, riding a peko (poorly), his cloak fluttering in the wind. "It's cold out, so I'll warm them up!" he shouts, holding his hand up, palm out (the 'stop in the name of love' pose), and magical fire sprays out like flames from a flamethrower, sticking to the undead between himself and Proph's position, flames starting to consume them, so he can rejoin Proph's group. "I thought when you killed an undead overlord, the minions were supposed to just go away," he complains.
Setsuna
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

Ah yes, the clean up task, a time honored of cleaning up the floor after the floor boss is dead. This of course excludes whales and dire animals but otherwise did seem to be a factor, especially on floors that had great places for site setups. So what was the necromancer of SEA doing , he was putting down undead one at a time. It was like stepping on bugs, you kill one and two more appear and now they had some pig headed farmer to save. It was simply going to be one of those days and as Setsuna looks at the bar he sighs, " Do you think if we told the undead their was an active volcano about to erupt they would leave instead? "
Gwen
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

Gwen made a mess so here she is to help with the people freed it's a good thing, however it's a bad thing that is going down. The undead are loose and people need to be rescued from here. SO here Gwen is to help with the evac efforts she'll see the horde of undead.

"... By Leroy's Cloth Shoulders..."

With that Gwen makes ready to head in.

"I am afraid not I doubt they could understand it the higher-order ones are all gone at this point."

She's making ready to line break and start pulling agro for others so they can push on through.
Mizuki
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

"Why is everything on fire?!" Mizuki wonders. She sneaks along fire breaks, looking for... something. As badass as she'd like to be, she doesn't think she can actually fight a horde of undead IN FIRE. Hopefully there's something else useful? Like a barn with adventurers on it. She sneaks over that way, popping into the middle of the conversation. "If the lich was able to control them all... can we re-establish that link and shut them down through it? ....wait, better idea! Could we make the /undead/ work the fields?"
Vertina
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

"I DIDN'T DO IT," Vertina reflexively shouts when someone complains about everything being on fire. "It was like this when we got here!" We all knew that, but being how Scales and Salamanders and Salamander Scales really relate to fire, it's good to be clear. "I wasn't expecting to have to fight again so soon, but never a dull moment in the Tower I gues--Mizukichi! Don't get too far ahead!" She quickly sprints after her werefang friend. "Now is not the time for running off alone, even *I* know that, and I'm the reckless adrenaline junkie!"
Mizuki
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

"I know you just got here. I was thinking maybe Prophy did it." Mizuki tries to reassure her kikk lizrd friend.
Setsuna
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

Setsuna shakes his head, " Nope, doctor has sworn off fire. The surgeon general of Tolbana says it is bad for your health. I think he is all weather doctor now and now the flame doctor that he use to be. " Yes indeed the necromancer is speaking and theory crafting about the doctor that is standing within ear shot.
SpritesHero
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

Somehow, Sprites does not seem particuarly surprised that there's a mass of undead, and everything's on fire. It's almost as though he doesn't particularly care. For there he stands, in a Tom Sawyer-esque straw hat, with a stalk of wheat neatly thrust between his lips. It' a horrendous match to the rather dignified looking sword he's got in his right hand. Possibly his lack of concern just down to visibility being bad. That's the hope, anyhow, because the alternative is that he's gotten way too used to hanging out with undead as of late.

"Right," he states, his tones clipped. "Where's the..." He trails off, noting the mass of undead converging on Prophylaxis. "Should've known," he mourns, as he lightly vaults onto a nearby cart to get a better view of what he's dealing with. He cups his hands to his mouth, hits the air hard with his diaphragm. "HEY BOSS!!" he belts out, evidently no longer particularly caring about any kind of stealth. "What's with the fans?!"
Prophylaxis
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

As if to refute Setsuna's quip, a bolt of flame sails by his ear and slams into one of the walking dead stalking up not far away. "We'll worry about what to do about the undead when we don't have more pressing business," Prophylaxis says, motioning for the few adventurers he brought along to move the barricade aside, making room for reinforcements to close in. Unfortunately for Mizuki, the barn is not full of adventurers-- but rather terrified, emaciated, weatherbeaten humans, the oldest of whom looks to be a weatherbeaten elder, but is actually in earlier middle-age. They're all farmers, farm-hands and other sundry agricultural workers, and none look fit to be doing anything but desperately flailing a torch or pitchfork at something.

In other words, not a single one of them is warrior material, as if the very capacity for martial resistance was long smothered from their stock.

"I came back this way en-route to Tolbana to check in on the locals, and found the entire place half-overrun and mostly on-fire already." Only maybe twenty percent of the current conflagration is actually his fault! "We need to get these people out of here before they're overrun. We'll be evacuating to the eighth floor immediately. Everyone, defensive formations. It's time for an escort quest...!"

But it'll be easier said than done. The walking dead don't seem too perturbed by the environmental hazards scattered through the area, and are already closing in on the open gap in the defenses. Prophylaxis pushes forward, his adventurer escorts ushuring the sizable crowd of doe-eyed humans out after him. A path will need to be cleared through the enclosing army of skeletal knights and their zombified cohorts... And it wouldn't hurt if someone took the time to put out some of the fires, too.

MAIN OBJECTIVE: Evacuate 9th Floor Landers by defeating enough of the undead!

Bonus Objective: Put out some of the flames! Reduces effectiveness of enemy attack roll, requires one successful action with the water concept at DC 8.
Vertina
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

Vertina being taller Vertina has little issue glancing over Mizuki's shoulder. "Yeeeah, they're not gonna be fighting. Or barely running at this rate." So she turns and takes a few steps away from the barn, facing the various undead approaching amongst the burning lands. "So we'll just give them room to run!" She stomps a foot into the ground, causing a slab of earthen material to rise out of it. But she doesn't just use it as a barrier. Oh no, Vertina gives it a shove, pushing it into a horde of skeletons like a plow to shove them back away from the barn, and then topple over to try and crush those caught up in the shove.
Setsuna
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

Setsuna gives a look to Prophylaxis, it may be because of the fire, or it may be because the doctor is talking crazy talk again. " I think the pressing business is the undead. If we remove the undead, there is no pressing matter. Well besides the fire, but we can put it out without problem. " Raising his hand he unleashes a single shot of raw magical energy into a zombies knocking it down and then stepping up aand putting a few more shots of magic into it's head. It's rule #2 of hunting zombies.
Schneider
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

Schneider takes his orders once everyone has joined up, and peers towards the attacking undead. It's kind of a mess, but it's not as bad as some of the tower pushes he's been on. The Landers are more of a part if the challenge than normal in the tower. They're actually in more danger here than in the waves, from what he understands. But his task, in this phase, at least, is blowing up skeletons. The division of labor is more imoortant, the tactical situation being what it is. The actual fight is entirely one-sided: Schneider hurling FIRE at the skeletons, and the skeletons running out of HP and vanishing in a puff of XP and SFX. "Tai to ro! Blow the enemy awat!" he shouts, "ANTHEM!" Streamers of fire like a sort of liquid shoot out and strike the skeletons as he turns to face each new one. This is what ought to be called a fire hose, he's hosing them down with fire.
Gwen
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

The mission is simple really Gwen need to protewct the lanmderr rom the undead while they get hte people the heck out of there.

"Right I'll be covering them." She hears PRop and while when things were a game she hated escort quest. Here? IT's a matter of life and death when you get down to it and so She'll move to protec them interposing herself when they come under attack and triggering divine shield when needed.

"Can someone get those fires!?"
SpritesHero
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

SpritesHero appears to be more or less of Setsuna's opinion. He's not messing around with water-buckets for sure. Nope. There's just a thud as he hops down from his perch, landing hard on the packed earth and dumping a sizable fireball into the periphery of the skeleton horde. Well, the middle of the periphery. Waste not, after all.

His fireball descends, splashes into the skeletons in front of him, and begins happily chewing away at health bars. Presumably, with the space that's generated, he could move closer to help defend the villagers. He does not, however.
Mizuki
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

Mizuki looks at the crowd of terrified, emaciated people and her heart breaks a little bit. She takes a deep breath, then poses and smiles. "Don't worry! Mizuki is here now! She and her friends will get you to safety!" She walks confidently along with the others, escorting, trying to be reassuring. "Okay... I think this would be shorter if we could get through this fire..." She stands in front of one of the burning fields and magics up some water, soaking the ground in front of her... and then switches from flowing motions to firm, discrete movements as she uses earth magic to make the mud flow over the field in a path, attempting to smother a way through the fire...!
Prophylaxis
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

Of course, the Scale Emblem Alliance's immediate answer to 'THERE'S TOO MUCH FIRE' is 'What!? A burning agricultural environment with a critical deficiency of FIRE or BEES!? This BALL OF FIRE stuffed with MORE FIRE should put a stop to that!!'

(Un)fortunately, none have them have yet developed the fearsome Fire Bees technique.

Regardless, yet more flame erupts amidst the hordes of the walking dead, thankfully directed far away from flammable material that has not yet already caught fire. Instead, explosions and jets of flame alike tear through both zombie and skeleton, filling the air with the scent of burnt flesh and charred bone. Those that manage to push through regardless of the press of artillery are beset by finely aimed magical projectiles courtesy of Setsuna-- and much less finely aimed sledges of loose stone and earth from both Vertina and Prophylaxis. With their ranks briefly broken, the undead attempt to launch a counter-attack, but there are shields waiting for them. One burning ghoul breaches the line and tries to snatch a young girl with a smoldering, wretched claw-- only to be intercepted by Gwen's sturdy shield.

The path ahead only remains on-fire for a short time longer. A veritable deluge sluices through the charred fields, as Mizuki quite literally carves a path for the party to advance, much to the apparent (albeit still blank-eyed) stares of the Landers.

"Forward!" Prophylaxis orders, pressing the party forth. The caravan makes it to edge of the fields when the shambling swarms grow thick enough again to pose a significant threat. With gleaming blades, the skeletal warriors surge in to strike at the vanguard, thrusting and slashing with undying strength. Meanwhile, the zombies further back rear up and... /vomit/ globules of thick acid at the rear line casters and healers.

And off to the right, the party passes by what looks to be the town graveyard... Where the /mass graves/ filled with unmarked, unnamed corpses begin to stir, fetid hands bursting from the shallow earth. They'll need to stop the dead from rising, lest they are overwhelmed!

BONUS OBJECTIVE: DC 9 Earth roll to keep more undead from joining the fight and raising the enemy attack bonus.
Schneider
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

Schneider is playing a bit too fast and loose with the undead, and before he realizes it, he's surrounded and starting to lose HP really fast. For many people, this would be a problem. "ZAKO DAMEREO!" he shouts, the fast-casting spell hurling raw arcane power rather thna fire into the zombies surrounding him, clearing a bit of space so he can move ans support the group with our Lander escoring 5K. He never thought to take pledges, though, or we could have raised some cash with this, also.
Setsuna
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

The necromancer looks at the grave yard as they pass by and sees the zombies popping out of it and he looks at the others and then at the graveyards and just wonders on over. Setsuna grins as he sees the zombies getting out of the ground, one is still struggling to get up out of the dirt. "AAAwww its so cute." Setsuna shakes his head as he tries to focus, he is becoming almost as bad as Uta with slimes. " Darkness falls across this land. The midnight hour is close at hand. Grisly ghouls from every tomb, stand and face these foul souls . " With jhis spell cast he stabs his dagger into the ground and for every zombie that rises a skeleton, or ghoul rise to match to face off against the zombie.
Vertina
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

As the skeletal swordmen advance and slash with their blades Vertina uses a short burst of heat (avoiding actual flame for the moment for obvious reasons) to launch herself into a forward dive-and-roll, right under the sweeping blades and past the skeletons weilding them.

Immeadiately she rolls back onto her feet and turns to take full advantage of the flanking position. To punch both of her direclaw cestus into a skeleton's ribcage from behind and then tear in opposite directions in an attempt to snap him apart. "~ The backbone is connected to the ... NOTHING NOW!"
SpritesHero
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

Yep. Starting to look a bit on the thin side now. Good. Sprites steps into the still smoldering area where his fireball had been moments before, and begins advancing through the undead towards the location where Prophylaxis and the villagers have been holed up. He's...not actually doing very much damage to the undead at present, but as he walks he waves his hands towards the surrounding undead with an almost careless disregard. Wherever he waves, thorned vines spring up, grasping at the nearby skeletons and almost gently setting them to the side. Where he neatly flicks their heads off with his sword, if they're not taken care of by team-mates. His advance is slow but steady.
Mizuki
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

Mizuki looks pretty proud of herself for that! She strides proudly into the path... for a few steps, and then the undead are back.

"Man... this kinda reminds me of Left 4 Dead. I got to play it at a con a few times, where they had 4 computers all set up together on a LAN? It was really fun... I bet the online play mode they originally planned woulda been a hit."

"You know, it was one of the few games where the shotgun doesn't suck? You could actually shoot the zombies from pretty far away with it, blam! Blam! Blam!" As she speaks, she calls chunks of earth up from the ground and then with punches and kicks, sends blasts of rock flying at the hordes of undead!
Gwen
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

There is no rest there is no respite for Gwen as the undead keep comming. She keeps up intecepting some iundea as smacked away others are cut down but she's always blocking the hits moving the Stormwind Shield to intercept attack where needed and using things like Repelling shield when she has to deal with a lot of little attacks.

"YOU SHALL NOT PASS!"
Prophylaxis
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

Who would have thought that control over a graveyard full of ready-to-use corpses would be partially usurped by a totally different necromancer? Clearly, not whoever (if anyone) is still directing these dead to rise. It's just as likely that, without the Pooka Queen to control it, the dark magic that animates the local wildunlife has gone mad, animating anything that happens to be available. Setsuna's own skeleton crew meets the recently risen dead on even terms, bogging down the enemy reinforcements in a tireless dance of carnage.

The dead closer to the group have little better luck. While some manage to carve a few chunks out of Schneider's HP bar, they are soon dispatched by a field of expanding arcane energy. Sprites meanwhile conjures the natural enemy of all zombies: plants! Thorny vines snatch up out of the ground, pulling vast numbers of the dead under, and anchoring others in place for the rest of the party to dispatch.

One such victim is torn to shreds by Vertina's claws, its dismembered body becoming a projectile to pulverise its fellows into so many bone fragments. Yet others are victim to veritable shotgun blasts of stone and earth, with Mizuki erasing entire torsos with each strike.

Unfortunately, the caravan is in the open now. Even with this many adventurers, defending the landers is no simple task. But even then, Gwen becomes unto herself a tireless bulwark, pressing aside blows no matter where they come from, her shield a radiant circle of protection that keeps the vulnerable safe from harm.

They can see the passage to the eighth floor approaching up ahead, but this is also the most critical juncture. The landers are tired and slowing, and even this far away from the village, the undead do not cease in their attacks. Now the skull-faced soldiers are accompanied by oversized, skeletal hounds that shamble forward on too-large limbs. The zombies have given up all pretense of a fair fight, and instead charge for the front lines, bodies bloated with pus and infection. When they draw too near, they burst into clouds of corrosive ooze...!

But it's only a little further now. If they can get through this group, they'll be home free!

MODERATE COMPLICATION: Skeleton warriors are accompanied by skeletal dogs, which move too quick to be hit by RANGED attacks. Only MELEE attacks may be used to target Skeletons this round.

MODERATE COMPLICATION: Zombies are now accompanied by Barrier Wights, which explode into clouds of acid and diseased goo when struck, and may only be safely dispatched by RANGED attacks. Zombies may not be targeted by MELEE attacks this round, unless you are willing to take a free WOUND.

GREATER COMPLICATION: Landers have grown tired. An extra shield action must be taken this round to fully shield them. ALTERNATELY, a LIGHT or PHARMACY action can be made at the same DC to restore their strength.
SpritesHero
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

Down to the last little bit, eh? Sprites abandond his vine shenanigans once he finally begins to draw close to the villagers. There's a surge of motion as he bursts past the last of the skeletons' and hounds grasping hands and tearing fangs. Greasy flames bloom in his wake, and the nearby skeletons that don't get charred find their footing exceedingly unsteady. Or just fall into that flaming path. Having now made it to the evacuated villagers, Sprites spins around and starts walking backwards, shielding his eyes with his hand. "-What- a stench," he remarks, as though of it weren't due to his setting undead on fire. "So boss. Where are we putting these folks?"
Vertina
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

Oh look, skeleton dogs... wait, skeleton dogs. "You already have a dog. Technically three!" she shouts in Setsuna's general direction. Hopefully before he gets any ideas. Though probably too late for that.

As for the bone dogs and boneheads themselves, Vertina has means of dealing with that. A brief moment of meditation, a few specific hand gestures to engage the protective Arte, and the Salamander starts moving with such speed that light distorts off her aura and creates multiple afterimages of herself, all reflected moving in different directions. The dogs can chase those all they want, they'll just disappear if they're actually caught.

Meanwhile, now that they're farther away from the scorched farmlands and villiage Vertina is more willing to start bringing some real heat to this kitchen. "Let's light this fight up properly... like a funeral pyre!" Blazing hot aura engulfs the Salamander Martial Artist as she lets loose, tearing into the skeleton battleline with flaming punches and kicks.
Schneider
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

Schneider's defense is solid now that he's got his head back in the game, throwing up a magic shield to stave off the attacks as the monsters' menace grows ad becomes more complicated. He takes a moment to observe the situation and to see where he's needed, since he's an all-purpose wizard, and he sees quickly where he can fill in.

Where he cab fill in is hurling a ball of concentrated darkness at a crowd of zombies. When it strikes, the darkness expands and seems to suck in the zombies. The visual effect is like they're melting into a dark pool at their feet, and when their HP runs out, they flicker out entirely.
Setsuna
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

Setsuna sees the dogs, yes they are good dogs and yes Vertina is right. " You're correct Vertina. If I am patient and if we are stuck here long enough I too will one day have a skeleton dire wolf mount. I will also have a ghoulish cerberus. I can be patient. " With that Setsuna's eyes begin to glow as he starts to track the head of two zombies and unleashes shards of dark magic to strike them down. Looking back over at the others he adds, "Now an undead wyvern? I will fight you all to take that home. "
Mizuki
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

"...Damn, that's working really well..." Mizuki comments after shotgunning some zombies. Her path has led them to the home stretch, it seems... but now comes the rush of zombies, and the Landers are getting tired. Hmm...

She turns to the Landers and smiles. "You can do it! We're through the worst of it now, Mizuki believes in you!" She tries to be inspiring. "How about some marching music to take your mind off things! Ummm....." She circles around the escorted group and launches into song, twirling a stick like a baton.

"Down at an English fair, one evening I was there, when I heard a showman shouting underneath the flair:"

"Hoi've got a lov-e-ly bunch of coconuts! There they are all standing in a row! Big ones, small ones, some as big as your 'ed! Give 'em a twist, a flick of a wrist, that's what the showman said!"
Gwen
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

The escort is going well for the moment but the enemy keeps kicking things up a notch as new types of undead show up. Some undead makes a go for a lingering Lander or two. Gwen jumps in triggers an ability causing green wind to flare out from her as she protects the Lander from the attack.

"ANCHOR HOWL!"

The undead peel away from their earlier targets, they attack her with all the force they can muster. The Stormwind shield is battered again and again. Yet it holds and Gwen will smash them back with it keeping them at bay for a moment longer.

"WE NEED TO HURRY UP! My big things are on cooldown!"
Prophylaxis
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

Even exhausted from defeating the Pooka Queen not more than a few hours ago, the Scale Emblem Alliance (+1) are more than a match for a paltry horde of the unliving. In the distance, bolts of darkness rain down into a pool of shadows over bloated, shambling corpses. Each one bursts into sizzlingly acidic explosions that carry the sickly sweet reek of rot on the wind, but nothing more as their remains are drowned in an inky, black tide.

Closer in, a charging wave of skeletal fiends are met by rapid, earth-shaking footfalls and waves of seismic force. Furious fists follow through, pounding bone to dust before scattering them all in a catastrophic conflagration of flame. The way is clear, they're almost there...!

"Not much longer now," Prophylaxis yells, waving the Landers into the staircase first, even as Gwen stays behind to gather all the lingering undead close. Their attacks hammer against her defenses, zombies bursting this way and that. Her HP begins to dwindle-- but stops, as Prophylaxis lifts his staff and conjures a wave of regenerative magic into her body. Healer and Tank working together as one, the remaining dead are easy to pick off...!

And for her part, Mizuki does seem to stir something in the Landers, though they don't seem to be able to follow her song. Do they just not /have/ song? Or is it just that she's singing something that isn't one of the few that they actually know...?

One way or another, they march a little quicker into the floor transition, followed shortly thereafter by thier protectors.

"Well done, everyone," Prophylaxis says with a tired sigh as he slumps against the stairs, scanning the crowd of survivors as if doing a headcount. "...I think we actually managed to save /everyone./ Incredible." Or at least, they saved the ones Prophylaxis had been able to gather together. Still, an impressive feat for an impromptu escort quest.

He looks to Sprites, then shrugs. "...Beats me, I hadn't thought that far ahead yet. I think the safest thing might be to bring them to help out in Tolbana, or at our depot on the fourth floor, for now. I was hoping to recruit them to help with rebuilding Karluin, but there's not really much farming to be done in the middle of a damn snow field."

Still, he might be open to suggestions.
Vertina
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

Vertina sprawls back at the stairs once the undead are all redead and the Landers are on their way down. "Whatever you do with them Doc, they're probably going to need to be nursed back to shape first." She pauses to glance over her shoulder. "They were probably working them to death just to raise them as undead... and put them back to work. Worse than a sweat shop."
SpritesHero
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

SpritesHero squints backwards over his shoulder at the villagers, then allows his shoulders to rise and fall in a gentle shrug. "Assuming they don't want to go back to where they were, I figure less disturbance is better," he suggests, linking his hands behind his back. "Or don't send them anywhere. Let them decide what they want to do and give them a starter package. Maybe a bonus for staying local. Way I figure it, any resources we can start raising locally can only be a benefit."
SpritesHero
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

"Or just stick them back on a farm," Sprites adds, with a crinkling of his nose. "They didn't rise up against the undead, so...."
Setsuna
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

tSetsuna considers the question for the moment and contemplates, the question at hand of what now. Looking at the group he considers for a moment before he says, " I think the fourth floor would accept them well enough. No issue with not being human. I would offer to let them stay on any floor they want though, we have decent enough standing with most of the villages. Except the seventh floor, they would be eaten alive...literally." IT is a poor joke but it is meant to be funny.
Schneider
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

Schneider nods at what Proph says about something to do with these Landers, though he says, "I dunno that we can take them much of anywhere without some rest." Though our fairly new train ought to make moving them easier. As so where to put them, he suggests, "We've opened up new mines, we could use new miners, right? Or do we have farms someplace?"
Mizuki
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

Mizuki looks at the survivors, then at Prophy. "You wanna bring them /five floors down/? They need to rest and recuperate... food and drink..." She scratches her head. "Don't we have the supplies to set up camp somewhere so they can rest for a bit?"
Prophylaxis
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

"I'll be doing triage and checkups at our train station on the 8th," Prophylaxis says with a nod. "They can recouperate there. Once they're in decent shape, they need to go somewhere safe. Tolbana is a good choice, considering how well-settled it is. We'll need to make sure they get through the seventh and fifth in one piece, but with the train that's pretty doable."

"After that..." He shakes his head. "...I don't know if they're even capable of volition at the moment. All these people have known is never-ending toil. We've got farms around Tolbana, but that doesn't help us with the Karluin problem. Mines... I don't know about that, they'd basically be starting from scratch."

Prophylaxis shrugs. "...Maybe if they're okay with working with the gnomes, we can get something going on the eighth floor instead? They might not want to work with anything that even looks like a Pooka if they can help it, but the land and terrain is ideal."
Setsuna
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

Setsuna blinks and looks at the others, " I mean I was assuming we were absolutely going to take them to the peaceful eighth floor and let them chill there while we impose on the hospitality of the... gnomes was it? " He stops at the moment as he continues to look at his fingers and count them, " Spriggans, nothing, nothing, humans, goblins, orc and humans, spriggans, gnomes, humans and pookas. Interesting." Looking up at the others he finds a question he hadn't considered before, " Why no Salamanders or Imps? The lack of fangs or caits makes perfect sense in the long run, but you know those other two."
Gwen
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

Gwen is just worn out from all the fighting she battered bashed hammered on but she doesn't go downs he keep them away from the undea but she's looking totally worn ouit and is going to need to take a break the moment they are sure they are safe.

"Yeah we need to find some where else to suggest to go."

She takes a moment to catch he breath a bit and looks to Mizuki for a moment. "I can do some cooking if i get a chance to rest..."
SpritesHero
Aincrad Tower: Unnamed Village

SpritesHero grimaces, lips pulling away from his teeth. "It's a good question, isn't it. But I figure it can't hurt to give them an option. Those who want to do what they've always done, or find it more comforting, that's fine. Those who have their eye on something elsewhere have an opportunity. I guess I'm just suggesting to give them a way out, for if or when they decide to take it. Whatever form that may take."
