Lizard Time

It was a wonderful thing when one could combine their work with a good workout. Such was typical for Vertina, who was helping hoist cask barrels onto a grunty-drawn cart just outside the Dragon's Larder. Or more accurately, she was hoisting barrels by herself that were taking two or three other workers to do so. Got to make sure everything gets loaded up and on the way to be delivered before all the New Year festivities began.

"Holy shit can you believe it's been a whole year already? What the hell." That would be Syx, who was coming to get a drink but sees Vertina outside loading up the cart, "I know you don't need a hand but I'd be more than happy to give you one anyway." He says, as he motions to some of the casks, "Especially if you tell me where those are all headed so I can follow."

Miho had a delivery mostly kitchen supoplies and such to Vertina so the rather smole woman walks in tail swishing as she does so. "Is the Lady oif the bar around? I have a delivery!" She also take a moment to look over to Syx. "Hey there."

"To Alne for the celebration, of course," Vertina replies. "And yeah. Pity this celebration isn't a victory as well... but we wouldn't learn anything without defeats." Then stands up to look over the wagon when she hears the other voice. "Over here Miho!"

"Turns out I'm kinda glad I missed the 10th floor run." Syx says, as he grabs a barrel and hefts it with one hand, "The guys got their butts kicked, from what I hear. We might be stuck here for a while...Which sucks, but at least we got booze."

Miho thinks for a moment "The world gave the raid part a shotgunblast to the chest it. It's life's way of saying slow the heck down. I have gone from being a maker of Kitchen knives to what a proper smith should be." She notes. "Well speaking ot kitchen things?" She'll pull the crate out of her inventory and will ask. "Where you want this and you got the gold I hope?"

"The boss was still glitched, still had that overpowered shield... we learned a few things about it's capabilities beyond that, but until something can be done about the shield...." Vertina shakes her head. "Surprisingly, I'm not going to argue with you on that point. It's clear we didn't take enough time to better understand the situation of the boss and what we were going into. And when I, one of the brash adrenaline junkies, thinks that, you know something is wrong." She finishes loading a barrel, then walks around the cart towards Miho. "Just set it by the door, the kitchen crew can take care of it. I wouldn't know a butcher knife from a carving one." She's clearly hired people to do the food jobs she can't. She just handles the booze making. She also handles most of the money, pulling out a sack of coins and tossing it to Miho. "Here you go! A bit extra tip for taking the time to deliver it personally, too."

"Look I mean I'm all for fighting battles that are super hard. But you know, sometimes you gotta study tape of your opponent and really get in their head." He taps the side of his head with a finger, "Maybe cut a promo or two, really try to get them to reveal a weakness you can exploit."

Miho says "I heard the boss did something nasty to a number of the raid's big guns. You got a point wioth that Syx." She smirks "My uncle was a fan of yours." She notes as she will set the crate down as she does so tail swishing a bit a she looks the other two over. "Now is not the time for that it's time to party shortly no?"

Vertina mimics the tapping motion to the temple. "I did. It's called Divination... but while I was able to predict some of his attack patterns, it did little good when he was able to rout the entire party... and yeah, what Miho said. I was fortunate enough to avoid those mindwarping things and just get pummeled physically." She hoists one of the last barrels onto her shoulder. "But yeah, more important things to worry about! As long as we're not leaving here, may as well make the best of it."

"Your uncle was a fan? Wait that means you weren't a fan." He says, frowning at Miho, "I'll have to fix that!" He turns to look at Vertina for a moment, "So is it just putting them in a trance? Or are they actually stealing memories because that shouldn't be physically possible."

Miho says "Oh I just was more into the forge than I was wresting he'd put it on sometimes in the break area." She grins a little bit at him for a moment. "Look i like big hammer and pounding Iron have for the longest time it's in my blood. As for that we'll have to see on that. Beast of it? Twist my fail, to ahve my job be more than just a minor thing of a tradtion many do not even give a damn about? I sell to as many Landers as I do Adventuers you know."

"I don't know, Syx... and honestly I don't really want to know what they experienced. There was a visual aspect to it, and I was lucky enough to see those fast enough to avoid them." Vertina chuckles a little at Miho. "So here you can engage in the true art instead of just tradition... though those knifes are damn fine, traditional or not."

"You know it's weird, I swear I'm even being recognized by Landers sometimes. Not like, as Josh Syx the wrestler, but as Syx the adventurer." He puts his hands up once he puts the cask he had been hauling down, and then grins, "Maybe one day I can be as popular here as I was there."

Miho Says "My name's getting known as a smith and I'm proud of that." She grins widely atr this and her tail swishs a bit. "Would it be so bad to live in this world? WE were just a bunch of cogs in the machine back of on earth for the most part."

"Hey." Vertina holds out one of her legs. "These barely work in real space anymore. I'm in no hurry to go back to that.... But we have doctors and others that had people depending on them, or did other things more important than us. Those are the people I'm hoping we can get back some day." She lowers her leg and leans back against the side of the cart. "I wouldn't mind staying, myself."

"Yeah it seems that as time goes on, the number of folks in a hurry to get out of here gets less and less.." Syx muses, as he rubs his chin for a second, "I suppose you live somewhere for long enough and you get used to it."

Miho says "Or they start o get they are far freer her than they were on Earth." She notes with a tail swish. "Sides I can shape metalk with my hand an breath FIRE!" She does a little gout of flame with a grin at this. "You also assume we're in a game. We may be in some other reality, the game was just a mirror of."

Vertina laughs when Miho gets excited about fire breathing. "Yeah. Watch this." Vertina pulls a flask from her inventory, uncorks it and chugs it down. Then exhales, producing a much larger and more vibrant plume of fire up into the air, where it crackles a few times before popping and fading. "Who needs fireworks when you can breath your own!"

"Yeah that part is cool." Syx replies, as he throws his hands up and shoots fire up from behind himself like entrance pyro! "Also I mean, my standing thought is that we're all in a coma in a bunch of hospitals all over Japan. But they can't take the helmets off us or it'll fry our brains or something."

Miho watches for a moment at Vertina as she does a thing she grins. "It makes working the forge a lot better and I should see what I can do to raw meat maybe I can get around the I can't cook even though I know how to cool from growiung up thing." She looks Syx for a moment. Miho shrugs "Who knows."

"Makes heating up the fire pits for the distillery a lot faster too," Vertina agrees with a nod. "It's nice working on something that you know helps other people out, even if it is just something to make being stuck a little more comfortable."

"I feel kinda useless, I picked farmer as my profession." Syx replies, "So really all I'm good for is hitting badguys."

Miho says "The OA is pretty big into farming from what I know." She shrugs a bit at this and thinks for a moment longer. She's about to say something but choses better of it. She'll make sure eveyrhing is inorder with he order. "I need to get to work on an Auto hammer."

"Well there are the farms they've been setting up around Tolbana, if you ever get bored." Vertina walks over, and once Miho is done doublechecking everything, picks up the crate with little difficulty. "I'll take this in the the kitchen. Thanks again for bringing it up Miho, with all the party stuff to get ready for I don't know if I'd had time to come pick it up in Shibuya."

"Maybe I should make my own farm." Syx says, "I mean it might be hard without a tractor, oh, but I bet I could set up a GYM there." His eyes light up a bit, "I mean it wouldn't have all the super advanced workout stuff, but I could improvise.."
