SpritesHero
Tolbana - The Dragon's Larder

SpritesHero does not go to taverns. On the rare occasion that he does, it's not for the alcohol. Not that he makes a particularly big deal out of it, he's just never been observed to indulge.

Tonight is no different. The door to the tavern is pushed open, admitting his armored figure and a frigid air. The night-darkened skies are visible for a moment before he neatly pushes the door shut behind him. And there he stands, gaze surveying the bar's inhabitants as he deliberately, possibly even ominously, removes his gloves by tugging on them one finger at a time.
Setsuna

Some may have expected after the whole new years thing that Setsuna had been looking for himself at the bottom of the bottle. In fact if anything he is trying to find himself in many cups of coffee. It is almost like he is strange mooding but he has no status and is at least semi coherent. No instead in front of him are maps and books and notes, so many loose pieces of papers. He looks like some college kid cramming for his final.

SpritesHero certainly seems to expect that Setsuna's at the bottom of the bottle. "I'll cover it," Sprites remarks to the bartender, indicating Setsuna with a tilt of his head. It's only after a couple double-takes that he realizes the cups are not, in point of fact, alcoholic. This presents a bit of a puzzle, in the form of a few scratchings of his head, before he settles in at a nearby stool with a shrug. "Setsuna," he states a trifle flatly, folding his arms one over the other. "You got a sec?"

The necromancer looks up and contemplates the question for a moment. " I heard you are covering my coffee? " Looking over behind Roberts he smiles at the bartender, " Another pot and maybe some cookies or cake or something. Oooo do you have chips?" Tapping his foot obviously a little wired as he gestures towards a chair. " A few seconds. Whats up?"
SpritesHero

SpritesHero's lips half-purse for a moment, though whether it is out of amusement or annoyance is hard to tell. His gaze lifts, along with his eyebrows, before settling once more into a neutral position. "Need some information on someone who is referred to as Her Majesty by an organization called the Forgotten," he responds. "Not to be vague. Need to find out who she is, what she wants, and why. Any information or suggestions you can provide would be most welcome."
Setsuna

Setsuna considers for a moment as he sips his coffee. "Hmm the forgotten, the forgotten... I forgot. " With a toothy grin he sits back and ponders for a moment. " I think you are talking about the undead. Is that right? The carnival group? " It was a fifty fifty chance, the other group that possibly fit the description would end up being that death cult that was a thing a year or so ago. He wasn't one hundred percent what had happened to that one. " If it's them then you are talking about Helena. "

"The carnival group," Robert confirms, with an affirmative dip of his chin. "The one with the storyteller and the lady who gives out fortunes that is full of vampires." Haha. Guess what he -doesn't- mention about that organization. "Right. Helena," he states at last, jotting down notes on a scrap of paper. "Any idea about what she wants and why? Anything to do with a war?"
Setsuna

"Felix and Odella, there is another a jester, named Dexter." Setsuna says as he looks up as another cup of coffee is brought and he pours himself a cup. " Would you like some?" He finds one of the other empty cups and fills it just in case, while he sits down infront of Robert. " You also haven't met Hector, or the Harbinger. Also lets not forget Author, the Queens fuckin personal body guard. Oh yeah and the skeleton barbarian that use to be an adventurer until they took a harbinger to the knee. " WIth a deep breath he sips his coffee and shrudders, " I miss sugar. "

The necromancer sits back and takes a moment before he answers, " What I know is that Helena's army is only interested in Ninetails. I think they use to be in charge of some of it and then their king went mad. The mad king got the group kkilled , the majority. Somehow the queen raised the army and now here we are. I think she wants her land back...oh and all of us dead."

SpritesHero declines the coffee with a lift of his hand. "I suppose you could try honey," Robert remarks, if a bit dubiously. He's never heard of honey in coffee. But why not, right? This, right here, is why he never became a coffee afficionado.

He sits there for a few moments with pursed lips, considering. "Rather odd that she wants all of us dead," he continues at last, gaze fixed on Setsuna's coffee-cup with unearned interest. It is, after all, just a steadily emptying cup. "Just the ones in Ninetails, or everyone? And who exactly is us?"
Setsuna
Tolbana - The Dragon's Larder

Setsuna looks at Robert ad shakes his head, " No, no honey. That would be horrible , absolutely horrible. What type of monster are you?" Shaking his head he turns back to his own cup and stares at it. " No one is going to taint your horrible bitterness with honey. " Then after a few more moments of talking to his coffee, Setsuna finally gives an answer. " I am pretty sure it is everyone in ninetails, all the 9 princes and princesses, all the people, and of course any adventurer that pisses her off. Like me. Ever wonder where Skull came from ? "

SpritesHero tilts his head to the side, comically confused. "I don't understand," he says at last, brow furrowing down the middle. "What's wrong with honey in coffee? You want it sweeter, it gets sweeter. Even gives it..." A pause, as he really, really struggles for the appropriate words, "....a refreshing taste of summer." Yup. He's definitely never tried it before. Forget the Forgotten. The monster is right here.

"So, to summarize, it's not really a problem except for anyone in Ninetails," he hazards. "Do we like Ninetails? What's important in Ninetails? As for Skull, I suppose that I always assumed you just sort of made him. I've tried not to think too much about where you got the...ah...ingredients from."
Setsuna
Tolbana - The Dragon's Larder

"Skull is one of the queen's toys I stole. She doesn't like me for it. " Setsuna says with a grin of pride as he thinks back to his last run in to the queen. "Though it was because of his ability that it was really important to take him. He can turn the living into the undead. Even adventurers if you could get pass the system protection. " There is still that bit of pride as he says all this like the skeleton knight is a trophy. "As for ninetails , we neither hate them nor like them. However we as an alliance really do need the good PR so its better if we care about the issue. Sides a good way to level up for the tower. I mean hell Merek got a sword that ate his data and tried to get him to do things. Till the idiot destroyed it. " Setsuna grumbles about it with annoyance as he seems annoyed still.
SpritesHero

"No, she does rather seem like the sort to be very irritated if someone takes what was hers'," Robert acknowledges with a flicker of amusement. "I understand you've tried turning things into undead, as per your reports," he continues. "Do those undead obey you? Or Skull? Or are they just mindless, like the undead on Floor 9?" He pauses, reconsiders. "Merek's sword tried to get him to do things?" he echoes, without much in the way of insight. "Did it succeeed? Like, was it controlling him, or just talking to him?"
Setsuna
Tolbana - The Dragon's Larder

Setsuna raises his hand and wobbles it , " You know its one of those unsure things. Everybody thought here and there that the sword was controlling him. Especially when he did Merek things and then it went away and he still does Merek things. So then in the end it is an unknown on who was in control. " Taking a sip again he works backwards through the questions, " As for the undead, they are monsters. No monster is your friend. Take it from a guy who got killed by his own monster. Anyways if you don't have a trong hangle on them they will turn on you just like any monster. Thats how it goes. "
SpritesHero
Tolbana - The Dragon's Larder

"I see," Robert answers, climbing to his feet once more and sliding some coins to the bartender. "A couple slices of your best cake," he requests, indicating Setsuna with his head. He's just turning around to make his departure when he pauses, and glances back over his shoulder. "The king was the original king from the story, yes? And Helena was his Queen? Or is she just someone who came later and called herself Queen?"
Setsuna
Tolbana - The Dragon's Larder

Setsuna looks at Robert with a raised brow, " Story? I don't know any story. If you want to know more about their history I would suggest you seek out Merek, or if you want someone more sane Shiruba. She protected Author's granddaughter for a while. They were good friends until ... well black queen took the pawn before it could promote. " Setsuna frowns and considers a little irish coffee for a moment. " Anyways they have their own pieces of the story to tell I suppose. " Taking another moment he continues to ponder before he adds. "If you have interest in the undead, the hunter guild is currently pushing a quest to help the Peko Knight reclaim a fort. You should do it. When youget to the top you can see whats waiting if we decide to ignore the problem much longer. "
SpritesHero
Tolbana - The Dragon's Larder

SpritesHero visibly twitches at the mention of a 'peko knight'. Probably still can't get over armor-clad folks riding giant fluffy birds. But the twitching stops readily enough. "Shiruba, eh?" he echoes, filing the name away for reference. "Much obliged for the tip. And all the information." He falls silent for a moment, lips pursing. "I'll look into the quest. Though I must confess my interest is less in the undead in general, and more these specific undead. There's a complexity there, as one of the longer-enduring monster populations, that is of interest. For example, the undead of floor 9 are rather dull. The mechanism by which they continue respawning might be interesting. But they are themselves rather dull."
Setsuna
Tolbana - The Dragon's Larder

Setsuna nods his head, " The demi-liches. That's your interest. I can't say I blame you. They are closer to landers then monsters, and it shows. However..." He trails off and looks down at it for a long moment of his thoughts drift back to Odelle for a moment. COughing and sitting up straight he continues, " However they are still monsters. Her toys, her chess pieces, and at the end of the day to get to her we will likely need to stop them the way that we as adventurers do." With a heavy sigh he stands up. " AnywaysI think thats enough for the day. "
SpritesHero
Tolbana - The Dragon's Larder

SpritesHero almost, almost smiles, then, hand-lifting in farewell. "Think of it as practice," he remarks, tones pleasant enough. "The day will likely come when we need to stop adventurers in the way that we as adventurers do." With which optimistic statement he turns about to depart.
