The camp had supplies comming in sure, the local wildlife was dangerous best to never fight them alone. Or go out alone either. The elf had trap lines to check and had sought out some help from anyone she could find. This person just happens to be Spriteshero whom she's pulled into this.

Things had gone on well for the most part so far, checking the traps getting the drops and moving on.

"KEep alert still the creatures here are pretty high level even though we managed to get somewhat away from the coast."

"Yes ma'am." Woodsmanship is...not exactly Robert's strong suit. But he can generally see something coming and stick a sword in it, or set it on fire--or, alternatively, give enough of a warning for running away--so that's (hopefully) good enough.

Thus it is that he finds himself strolling along beside Erufu as she checks her traps, gaze constantly scanning his surroundings, ears cocking this way and that, like twin radar dishes.

Erufu is making for the next string of trap and looks bavck over her shoulder at Robert for a moment.

"So enjoying the adventure of being in a new land? Most of my party seems to be enjoying it?"

The pooka seems to be very chipper and then oddly her ears twitch a bit.

"Did you hear that?"

SpritesHero flashes a faint smile over his shoulder at Erufu, and is about to reply when he notices her reaction. Though he shakes his head, there's the brief hiss of steel on leather as his sword leaves its sheath.

He then goes silent and still, brow furrowed in concentration, ears perked up, oriented forwards. Evidently he did -not- hear that. But he's also perfectly happy to defer to Erufu's long-honed capabilities.

Erufu has her bow out and holds up a hand now she's looking around, listening. What was that she hearcx movement. Given they didn't have a full understanding of the monsters of the area she was even when looking relaxed fairly on guard.

"Go check the trap over there..."

She notes while she keeps her bow ready.

SpritesHero's expression is puzzled. Very puzzled, judging by his crinkled, quizzical brow. But he only nods his agreement, and begins to not so stealthily pick his way through the shrubbery en route to the trap in question.

In fact, he's almost making more noise than he's used to. Evidently he's under the impression that he's being used as bait. Fine. Somebody has to do the job, after all.

thee would be something odd when Spiteshero checked up on the trap? It's empty something has somehow tripped the trap and taken the bait. Something had figured out the trap or just been too high level for it to hurt. She looks around.

"I don't like this either we're dealing with something too smart or it's very strong..."

Or worse something very lucky.

SpritesHero only frowns at that, lightly poking at the trap with the tip of his sword. It's only a momentary diversion of his attentions before he's straightening and looking around once more, eyes and ears scanning, sword at the ready.

"It's your call" he decides at length, drawing just a touch closer to her. "But I'm feeling rather hunted at present. I'd advise finding a defensible location and hunkering down. Or just killing it, if you think we can flush it out."

Erufu says "Yes I think we should withdaw for now something took the bait which meands it's lucky or smart." She'll gesture to Spriteshero as she keep he bod ready. "I will cover you, if somwrthing does happen to me run for the camp and do not stop."

"Understood," Robert answers. His tones are crisp, efficient, the model of one who takes orders and executes them. The brief downwards turn of his lips, on the other hand, suggests at minimum a reluctance to carry out those orders--if not an outright disinclination towards following them whatsoever.

That said, Erufu is, at least for now, still in charge of tactics. So he does as requested, turning around to head back towards camp at a brisk pace. Though he -does- keep his sword at the ready, and his ears perked.

Erufu will make sure her companion is away before she starts to pull out she'll make sure once Robert is away she'll follow after him. Bounding from tree brance, to tree brance a sthe pair leave something in the distant underbruish moves...
