Baroness Wake
Seeker's Landing

It's another day in the new world. Newish world? Regardless, the Baroness is peering inland, humming a tune as she smiles, lost in some memory. She is alone, for the moment, away from the camp, but not so far as to put herself in danger.

It is late, and darkness has long since taken hold of the sky. Stars blaze above, familiar enough, but in this environment she attends to them more closely.

Merek
Seeker's Landing

Merek takes the time to put on his dark attire, and steps out from the tent in which he makes camp. He wears a scarf and looks like he's searching around for things to do. He will make a way to where Wake is, though not looking for her necessarily, and seems to be looking for anything that might be useful.
Yeowang
Seeker's Landing

Yeowang is somewhere close to the edge of the camp, doing some martial arts type training against one of those training dummies with the wooden posts sticking out at various places. It has a homemade look about it, and she's been spending a lot of time punching it. Weeks. In between foraging for food for the camp and various local exploring.

She watches Wake off by herself, to the distance she can see her at night, but she doesn't seem to be in danger just at the moment. With Merek approaching her, she will see how this goes before heading over, herself.
Kauchemar
Seeker's Landing

After some time of quiet contemplation Wake may not be so alone as she thinks. But it's only noticable in that slightly unsettling feeling of being watched. Creatures of the night have an uncanny knack for not being seen until they want to be seen once the sun has left for the evening.

Until said creature of the night is standing right next to the Baroness of Eas, having seemed to sperate from the darkness itself when stepping into view. "Ah, there you are." Fortunately it is just everyone's favorite Nightmare Bard and not some angry hybrid creature, who appears to amused in having managed to creep up on her instructor to actually being mischevious about it. "I didn't want to disrupt your stargazing, you looked well off in contemplation."
Baroness Wake
Seeker's Landing

Wake was surprised, but only Kauchemar is near enough to detect it. The Baroness has taken pains to avoid giving away such things, and it is only the slightest flick of her hand to ready a weapon of pure shadow, which in a blink is banished.

The moment of perceived danger passed, she smiles. "Good evening, my dear. I had drifted far from here, but nearer to my heart than any other in this land could be."

She wears a rich, warm cloak of sable, upon which slender lines of silver have formed several patterns of roses wound about each other. Her boots are ornately decorated in the same design.

    "You were seeking me?"

Yeowang
Seeker's Landing

Yeowang blinks as Kauchemar shows up near Wake also, and it looks like this is not going to be a private walk for her after all. So, she might as well make her way over also. And that way if there /is/ an ambush, we'll all be together. She won't speak up to interrupt them, she won't even be close enough to talk with them except by shouting for a few moments in any event.
Kauchemar
Seeker's Landing

Kauchemar is dressed as she always is, though in this case her cloak is actually pulled forward to cover her otherwise bare shoulders. An ear twitchs to the side, noting the others moving about in the area -- one towards them and the other meandering as Mereks tend to do. The most of her attention remains on Wake though, a smile that briefly bares her snake-like fangs curling equine lips. "Well, isn't that interesting."

An embelished flicking twirl of the wrist and Kauchemar produces a sealed envelope between two fingers. "Because I think I know where your heart has been, and it just so happens to have sent it's own regards for you."
Baroness Wake
Seeker's Landing

Wake laughs softly, taking a moment to notice Merek's presence. Yeowang has yet to come close enough for a greeting.

"I see Master Merek has decided to go for a walk this evening, as well," Wake notes. But her attention swiftly goes back to what Kauchemar said. "So you bring something for me from my beloved?" she asks hopefully.

The Baroness doesn't attempt to hide her interest. She bounces to her toes for a moment, then settles once more. She waits for Kauchemar, but with barely repressed eagerness.

Merek
Seeker's Landing

Merek will wave a little and nods to Wake, "It is good to see you about," he will offer. Then he's taking the time to relax while he thinks about it, walking along the place and looking to the stars as well.
Yeowang
Seeker's Landing

Yeowang finally makes her way close enough to call a greeting, though her voice is subdued and she looks around to see Merek and Kauchemar, offering them greetings as well. "Good evening. I see we are having a late night soiree," she says quietly.
Kauchemar
Seeker's Landing

"So it would seem." Well of course it is, but Kauchemar likes to play up the mystery a little just so her charge can enjoy the anticipation. Which is also why she makes a grand gesture of fussingly opening the envelope with careful preservation instead of simply ripping it apart. Squints at the card a moment, then huffs out a soft sigh. "Seriously, how am I suppose to uphold the tradition of singing telegrams when there's barely enough context to work with." Probably done by Wake's fiance on purpose to rib the messenger, one lyrist to another. "I guess the sender wants me to... improvise."

Kauchemar ahems softly into one clenched fist, giving the card another flick with the other hand. "Only the swiftest steed will please
To deliver my word across the seas
Beneath foreign sun and stars shining late"

Dramatic pause.

"All is ready. Your return I lovingly await."

An ear flicks forward. "... I'm not sure how I feel about being refered to as your 'steed'..."
Baroness Wake
Seeker's Landing

Wake laughs softly and raises a hand to gently settle on Kauchemar's shoulder, which she squeezes affectionately. "I think, my dear, that it comes with the territory, though none would think you such a thing in the derogatory sense."

Wake lowers her eyes for a time, lidding them shut gently. She draws in a deep breath, then lets it out with a sigh. A smile curves her lips.

"The Dome of Stars is ready at last. The castle has been furnished and prepared. Time moves swiftly, and yet there is one last thing I must see to here before I go. The time I sacrificed thus far must not be left in vain due to haste and impatience."

"Kauchemar, my dear friend, I trust you will return with me when the time comes. It will not be much longer. The greatest moment of my life awaits and I would have you by my side."

Merek
Seeker's Landing

Merek looks then to Kauchemar and Yeowang, while he waves a little that way, then a look to Wake, "It's nice to see you all about, I am trying to find a few things to keep the camp supplied if I can."
Yeowang
Seeker's Landing

Yeowang blinks as Kauchemar delivers her singing sort-of-telegram. She hadn't realized there was such a service. She smiles at Wake's reaction to it, seems like it's good news. "Congratulations," she says. She looks over to Merek, and wonders, "This seems like an odd time of day to forage?" She sounds puzzled, but she doesn't object. Maybe things need to be foraged at night?
Kauchemar
Seeker's Landing

"I guess we shall have to conclude my training back home then. Make sure we don't have any... unwanted guests trying to interrupt when the time comes.... Granted, there's more things to, ah, 'requisition valuable resources' from than around here." Most of the sailors guarding the camp are probably tired of her playful stalking. As well as a certain Undine explorer.

Her attention does finally shift to include the others present though. "I suggest worrying about foodstuff, local herbs and whatnot. Things that are hard to preserve long enough to make the journey across the sea."
Baroness Wake
Seeker's Landing

The Baroness slides into a curtsey and bows her head to Yeowang. "Thank you, my dear. It is the best of news brought by a precious friend."

Wake extends a hand, eager to accept the card. No doubt Tae has scented it, as well. A romantic tradition the two have held since they first met.

"Kauchemar, thank you so much for bearing the message for me. It means so much more to come this way. We use the chim system, but not to excess. Time apart in form is precious and being mostly apart makes it more powerful when we unit once more."

Merek
Seeker's Landing

"Well, it seems like the time best to not really deal with a lot of people," Merek will admit, while he nods a little bit, then he takes the time to look about the place, "Anyway, it's nice to relax."
Yeowang
Seeker's Landing

Yeowang smiles to Wake as she bows, bowing, herself, glad that Wake has received good news. "I'm glad there's /some/ good news going around," she remarks. To Kauchemar, she reminds her, "Nothing spoils when it's in your inventory." Or at least that's what she's been told. It's been her experience, anyhow. She ohs as Merek explains why he's foraging at night.
Kauchemar
Seeker's Landing

"True, yes." Kauchemar leans a bit closer to Yeowang and lowers her voice a notch. "But the more we can provide for ourselves here, the less we have to rely on what the Lander sailing vessels can traverse back and forth with."

Then Kauchemar rights herself, tail swaying a few times as she smiles to Wake again. "Every moment away will be made up for tenfold by your cherished, I'm sure."
Baroness Wake
Seeker's Landing

Wake nods, "Indeed it will. But.. I think we shall not see each other until we are married. I shall have to rush back after my task is complete, but I have already set the preparations in motion. My people know what they are to do, and I shall set a date for my return."

The Baroness looks back at the camp, sighing softly. "I should send some messages to ensure that all continues to our plans. All will be ready, and there isn't a lot of time left, considering other matters taking place at nearly the same time."

Yeowang
Seeker's Landing

Yeowang nods to Kauchemar. "That much is true. I've been actively hunting as much as I can. This area is very high level, unfortunately, so is very hard to hunt independently. Better solo hunting as we go eastward, though." She ahhhs as Wake explains her plans, nodding. "Fortune favor you, then. It sounds like you have things under control."
Merek
Seeker's Landing

Merek looks between the people, and nods a bit while he takes the time to begin working to gather anything he can find which might be related to herbology.
Kauchemar
Seeker's Landing

"That's our Baroness, leaving nothing to chance even when fate leads her elsewhere." Her business done here for now Kauchemar casually folds her hands behind her back. "But if you need help with distrubting said messages you know who to ask."
Baroness Wake
Seeker's Landing

"I shall have a few for you before morning comes," replies Wake to Kauchemar. "A pity I cannot rush back now.. but such is not my lot. I am a Baroness and I will not shirk my duty."

With that, Wake once again glides into a curtsey. "For now, though, I will retire to my tent and set to work on the messages. I wish you all a good evening."

Yeowang
Seeker's Landing

Yeowang smiles as Wake curtseys. She's in pants, so she bows in response. She nods to Kauch about distributing messages, and as Merek has gone back to gathering, "Good night, all of you," and she will turn and head back to her own training. She has a lot to do to get back to where she was in the real world. You don't get ten years of training back in a day, or even in a year. But she's got to start to get done, so she's doing the training.
Kauchemar
Seeker's Landing

"I shall stop by come morn to pick them up then," Kauchemar replies, bowing for the sake of dramatics. "And good eve to you as well, Yeowang." Then tchs softly. "So many people sleep during the night. They don't know what they miss out on."
