Mind Your Keys and Cues

Kauchemar
Seeker's Landing

"My my, this expedition has been getting quite prolific," Kauchemar muses as she sorts through the various parchments, reports and sealed envelopes designated to return to Yamato. She wasn't one of the main explorers but this little foray into foreign lands has been a tremendous boon for her 'Dark Pony Express' sidejob. "This goes to Ninetails, this goes the Hunter's Guild... this goes to some sailor's mother to apologize for not being able to visit..." She shrugs, tucking them away. Work is work, considering the Adventurer gig doesn't always produce monetary gains in its loot drops.
Erufu
Seeker's Landing

Erufu is comming back with several traps over her shoulder and shes singing a song of some sort. Wait is that Tolkin Evlish? Yes, yes it is. The pooka seems to be in a good mood and she calls out to Kau.

"Oh hey wanna help me unpackl my hunt?! I have been meaning to talk to you."

Beware her ears are wiggling....
Yeowang
Seeker's Landing

Yeowang is just outside Kauchemar's office, such as it is, in the central stone building, like Erufu bringing in her sadly lean game bag to add to the group's larder. She turns over a small handful of meat drops to the cooks with an apologetic shrug and will turn to assist with Erufu's much better take. "May I help?" she asks. It's what she can do; she's always admitted to not being a hunter at heart and just doing her best to make it work.

It's not so much that hunting is hard here, though her low hunting skill is part of it, than that it's such a high-level area that she has to be very concerned that she doesn't wind up on something else's menu. Well, at least she's given up on kicking the practice dummy at all hours, the sound of it would get on you after a while. Which is probably why she set it up farther from the camp, so it would be less annoying.
Kauchemar
Seeker's Landing

Office is stretching the notion, but it is what it is. The Landers don't have fancy chimlinks to use, so setting aside some spot for mail to come and go as the ships do was important enough to them to at least have a small kiosk designated for it in the structure.

But elf ears aren't the only ones that wiggle, as the mare's swivel like tiny radar dishes to hone in on the drifting tone. Kauchemar regards the two girls, and the catches of the day slung over shoulders. "Well well it seems you two have already amassed quite a trap sheet there." And here come the puns. "We'll have to be sure to get these to the kitchen proper so they can meat their maker."
Erufu
Seeker's Landing

Erufu lookks over her shoulder to Yeowang and grins.

"You bet! Many nands make light work! This should help out the cooks and crafters a bit! " She beams iwth he normal energy. "Puns! Wonderful!"

She'll get to unpacking her part of the traps while looking to her compaions.

"So while I'm not a full on bard I have been thinkinking. The people of Yamato have their own stories, legends and the like. Yet I haven't heard of any real effort to write them down. I was thinking about going out to collect them and turn them into songs."

She looks over ot Yeowang for a moment. "You been holding up all right?"
Yeowang
Seeker's Landing

Yeowang's solution to atrocious puns is to ignore them, generally. It's not that she has no sense of humor, it's just that bad puns aren't it. She will help Erufu, then, pleased to contribute at least a bit. Moreso than her own paltry take. She nods to Erufu about many hands making light work and hrms about the landers stories and legends. She arches her brow about holding up all right, and says, "Of course. Things have been a bit slow lately, so I've taken some time aside to work on my training." She's keen on training, of course. As far as the stories and legends go, she wonders, "Have you talked to Uta about that? She seems to be quite close with the Landers on that. And for some reason, I think Estelle might know a few things about that also."
Kauchemar
Seeker's Landing

"Maybe it's -because- you're not a full-on Bard that you think of doing so" Kauchemar counters. "Music is a magic of it's own, that flows so naturally through some of us that we don't consider that others haven't got it so easily. Uta, with my help and others, has been trying to document the songs of the Landers... but the fourty-two seem to be music intricate to the world itself. Not tales of lore and legend as you are considering."

Idly she settles back, takes out her lute, and starts to play along to the work.

o/~ Fish heads, fish heads, rolly polly fish heads.
Fish heads, fish heads, eat them up -- Yum! o/~
Erufu
Seeker's Landing

Erufu says "It is I fouind a song a while back that I dare not sing again. It had an effect on people and not a good one." She notes at that. "There's something about it in the very ... song of the world. I need to find out more of it. As for Uta she is a very elusive prey, little bit of Chaos in that lady to be sure. I will when I can track her down. It also be a fun adventure too! Oh Estelle I'll try to find her then as well." Those ears are wiggling again as she goes about unloading her prizes.

"There's a human song about pulling the feathers off bird or so I hear."
Yeowang
Seeker's Landing

Yeowang arches a brow as Kauchemar explains about what Uta has done. "So, if Uta's working with the songs, then the legends and tales are new ground," she observes. The Fish Heads song is odd, and she's not familiar with it. Lucky for her. But Barnes and Barnes were so long ago, and she's got minimal interest in retro anything. Her father probably knows it, he went to university in America ... she thinks it was in the 80's? But that's not something he would share. He's very serious.

She nods about Uta being elusive, helping to unload the game as Erufu earwiggles. "A song that hurts people? That sounds bad," she agrees. As to pulling feathers off a bird, she supposes, "That's how you prepare a bird for cooking, isn't it?"
Kauchemar
Seeker's Landing

"If you are questioning if songs can hurt someone, you haven't seen me in battle!" Kauchemar retorts with a gleeful cackle. Though after a moment her manner turns more thoughtful. "Granted, that is more the power of my voice in itself and not the music." She rolls a shoulder in a shrug. "Plus the fourty-two are quite ... old. They do not pertain to more recent events that may still have historical reverence."
Erufu
Seeker's Landing

Erufu says "Yes, and turning to them to song. They may be new song but they would still be the people of Yamato's They have tales worth putting to song." She seems firm on this. "It unsetlte everyone I heard it in a ruin ... it was strange. Also there is a being who noted I was in tune with the world." she notes pulling up her sleeve and showing off the stang set of markings.

"I found this a bit before we fully arrived in this world it marked me and now I have some idea why.
Yeowang
Seeker's Landing

Yeowang shakes her head to Kauchemar about whether she questions songs hurting people. "I have seen your power firsthand," she points out. It's one of the many things about the game that confuses her, but it's an observable fact, so there's no point in denyng it. "There's no reason to believe a song can't cause injury, however farfetched that may sound to our own reason." The rest of the song lore is over her head.

She nods to Erufu, "I see," and she listens quietly as we put the game away. She arches a brow at being in tune with the world, and it goes further up as she shows off the mystical tattoos. "Interesting," she observes.
Kauchemar
Seeker's Landing

"Oh?" Kauchemar sets her instrument aside and steps closer, leaning down to Erufu's level to get a closer look. "Ah, yes, I have seen others with similar ruinic body markings that have some harmonic convergence with the depth music influences this world. It's interesting that these indicators of power do not necessarily need to be individual items."
Erufu
Seeker's Landing

Erufu says "There are likely other songs. I'm looking for other ther have to be more that will do that." She pauses for a moment as she pull her sleeve back down.

"Oh I should meet the some time and speak to them on it. I have liked to sing since I was only a few hudnred years old you know!"

She looks back to Yeowang.

"Yes music has power in this world that much is clear. I was just ... caught up with it."
Yeowang
Seeker's Landing

Yeowang looks more closely when Kauchemar does, intrigued. Not that she knows what it actually means? "Indicators of power?" She's never seen it before, so she will remain quiet and listen to what's up. She nods to Erufu about music having power. "A few hundred ...?" Oh right. She nods slowly. She just kicks people, the fluffy stuff is beyond her.
Kauchemar
Seeker's Landing

Kauchemar saunters back to retrieve her instrument. "Well, if you require any sort of assistance, you know who to ask." The other hand gives a flamboyant twirl over her shoulder. "I know a thing or two about composing as well as performing, after all."
Erufu
Seeker's Landing

Erufu does not break character so far as anyone knows. It would have to be dire for her even to give thought to Nao at this point. She smiles at Yeowang no malic there and she looks to Kau again. "We could do something togehter once the gathering is finished?"
Yeowang
Seeker's Landing

Yeowang nods to Kauchemar, sighing heavily. "I feel that regular fighting skill is underplayed and all the special skills are better and more useful than actual skills." But she pushes back that annoyance, it's not pertinent, and it doesn't help. And she's not a whiner. She smiles to Erufu, admitting, "I probably need your help with hunting skills, at some point."
Kauchemar
Seeker's Landing

"Still counts knowing -where- and -how- to hit someone. Don't sell yourself off short." Kauchemar turns to lean back to the wall with a nod. "Oooo, more people stretching their horizons. /"
Erufu
Seeker's Landing

Erufu looks at Yeowang. "I'm not a spell caster I have trained with a bow for most of my life." She grins at this. "Huntiung sure I'd be happy to teach you if you are interested! As for magic I would not be shocked if we say run into anti magic zones or the like as we adventure."
Yeowang
Seeker's Landing

Yeowang nods to Kauchemar about actual fighting skills, "Yes, I still have that. Well /some/ of that." She was a national champion level in RL, there was a great deal of performance loss in the game. "But I can't do all the cool bonus things that you guys can who sing or hunt or all that."

She nods to Erufu about training with a bow for most of her life. "I've been using bows for the year I've been here and that's it," she admits. Anti-magic zones would not slow her down appreciably, her techniques are all non-magical with a couple exceptions.
Kauchemar
Seeker's Landing

"Oh, I am quite certain Anti-magic exists. We are fortunate to not across it in this high level areas, but it's out there. Waiting. Waiting. Terrifying the dreams of many a mage." Kauchemar grins a sharp toothed, slightly haunting grin. "Those that do not know how to handle themselves without being all the shove the biggest fireball up the enemy's ass, at least." Not a problem she has.
Erufu
Seeker's Landing

Erufu grins "Then you doing well. Keep singing to improve. A poor mage is a mage who only casts fireball at everything." She grins as he get the last of her thing loaded up. "Oh you know I have an Inn now in the NWA's main city?" She grins widely at this.
Yeowang
Seeker's Landing

Yeowang looks puzzled about anti-magic, but can only shrug. She has no idea how magic works, so how anti-magic works is just as baffling. She nods about Erufu's inn. "I never got a chance to get there, I'm sorry to say, I'd meant to. It sounds very nice, but I came here, hoping it'd be the South Korean server rather than the Chinese server. But now I'm here, there's so much to do, and I will hopefully find the Korean server in time."
